Food service very fast but really greasy for certain kinds of food. During the morning time around 9am already busy for lined up to get in.

Take out - Singapore noodles and Portuguese chicken. A lot of hair in the noodles. Tried calling and the lady was rude kept hanging up on me. Done trying and never again. Terrible service didn’t even try to call me back at 430 (not even busy time)

Quality food with good prices. They have good HK lunch and dinner specials that comes with soup and a drink.

Came here for afternoon tea, and their prices are decent compared to their portion. The food was average, but their milk tea was good. The restaurant was relatively clean, and the staff was good.

Don’t recommend dine in, food is solid, service attitude is bad, not all of them, some. I got a super impatient waitress taking order for me.

Be careful with the hainanese chicken rice dish here. Ordered through ubereats. Ate one piece and thought it was a little too chewy for chicken. Dug through the rest of the chicken and found VERY raw chicken. Not safe to be eaten at all.

We got Baked Portugese Chicken Rice. The Rice came with tender Chicken bites, the Sauce was creamy, coconuty, aside from Chicken, it also had Bell Peppers and Potato Cubes, served on a bed of Egg Fried Rice, such a filling meal! The Combo also came with a Soup and a Drink, the Minestrone Soup was RICH in flavour, and the HK Milk Tea was amazing!

Quick stop for a bite here. Traditional HK style menu items from breakfast to daily mainstays.
Priced decent.

Feeling Hungry, go to Blue Ocean Café while in the morning rush and or after work before getting home during the evening as daily practice.

It has been a while since the pandemic till now.

Blue Ocean is one of a kind symbolic casual Hong Kong style Café (Cha Chan Teng) in town with the interior décor nice and modern. Although the seating capacity is limited regardless of space fundamentals of structures. It is typical Hong Kong style – Home Comfort and Warm.

Overall, the quality of food consistency with reasonable prices and tasty particularly for their Creamy Soup, besides the Chinese Style Soup also yummy. Also, Hainanese Chicken Rice is pretty famous.

A variety of selections in the menu all prices are reasonable. Such as Breakfast Combo/Dinner Combo, etc. Affordable prices and Real Good Taste.

The uniform employees of all generations of Waitresses are very Nice and Friendly with Loving Smiles. Most of them are courteous, patient and helpful. Quick service and suits my needs.

To the names of a few in particular Anne, Ling, Phoebe, Carrie, May, Lee – Thank you for your kind hospitality, generous friendly service you provided.

For all Hardworking people who worked there and made all operations run as smoothly as possible.

I agreed with other reviewers, this place is not recommended. No one would greet you when you walk in, at least three servers walked by and one had eye contact, minutes later another one finally showed me a table which I didnot want near the entrance, she didnot bother to address to the request for a different table and went on talking to other customers, very rude! The place was not that busy at the time. Food was not that good too when I visited couple times in the past. We ended up walking right out and giving business to another place where they at least treated customers the right way. Avoid at all cost!

If I could leave 0 stars I would.extremely terrible food and even worse service. Avoid, your dogs deserve better leftovers.

The sauce of Baked Portuguese Chicken Rice was delicious and the milk tea was really Hong Kong style

Breakfast combo- tried the beef brisket noodles and come with a drink. I choose the Hk style milk tea which is very good. Price is reasonable and the beef brisket soup is tasty, but probably too early to order this beef brisket a bit hard to chew. Over good experience.

One of the best HK cafes in Markham. All the food tastes great, and we especially like their milk tea. Drinks can be on the sweeter side so we always order half sweet.

Out of all the Hong Kong-style diners in the Greater Toronto Area, I can always count on Blue Ocean Cafe for their consistency.

Just like any diner, all their lunch and dinner menu options come with a bowl of soup. Whether it's the daily Chinese soup, Russian Borstch, you defintely have to try the Cream Soup that is offered only on weekends! It's not your ordinary cream of chicken soup as they are generous with the amount of cheese and seasoning that may have you ask for a second bowl.

The baked rice/spaghetti dishes are quite solid. I do recommend trying the Portuguese Baked Chicken Rice where the sauce is elevated with the use of crushed peanuts to thicken the sauce and for more of a nuttier flavour.

The Hainanese Chicken Rice is decent as well as the chicken is nice and tender to pair well with the aromatic rice.

Overall, Blue Ocean Cafe is a great no-frills spot to get your comfort food fix without breaking the bank!

The lunch set is super worth it: most are under $15 and it comes with soup, drink and a huge entrée. The baked Portuguese chicken rice was delicious! Saucy and flavourful and the chicken was boneless and tender (the addition of potatoes were a surprise though).

It's the most popular HK style cafe in Unionville with reasonable price. But the quality of food isn't consistent during peak, so that's will I just gave 3 star only. Their signature dishes is baked pork chop with fried rice. Worth a try.

The food at this restaurant is average, but service was horrible. No tea or water is brought to you after you sit down. They only accept cash and if you do tip to their standards, they will not let you leave. This is very bad practice and we should have been told ahead of time their tipping requirements and that they only accept cash. My husband only had cash on him and the staff would not let him leave as I was already in the car and thought he could handle the bill. Instead I had to go back to the restaurant and help him pay the tip. This was extremely embarrassing and we will not be returning again.

Trying to order take out and the lady on the phone was very rude. Simply asked her the choices of drinks that came with my meal and she said "what do you think? It's what you would normally get" in a very condescending tone. So unhelpful and completely lack customer service. It's like getting punished for being a customer here. Won't be back again.

Ordered noodles soup and stir fry noodles. Flavour is good. Typical. But amount is less than some places. I guess afternoon tea set make sense to be less. It’s good enough for a light snack.

We order take out from them sometimes. They have a great selection of combos for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The food quality and price is reasonable. Recently they have increased in their price but they offer you 10% discount if you pay by cash.

They reopened for patio dining. The seating area was quite decent. They have 3 tables inside a tent and few small tables along the sidewalk in front of their restaurant. It was setup in a good social distance manner. Even if you go for patio dining there, the food was packed in clean take out containers.

Came for afternoon tea when they start the patio outside, we are cool with self serve like sit ourselves whenever there's a table and go inside to order, they are nice to bring out the order with all utensil in take out packaging but no service as is table cleaning nor any wipe down.
Food wise was below average for the price charged, portion small, no tasteful, food quality is below avg, drink was ok but overall nothing would bring me back again in the near future.
I give 2 star instead of 1 because it's really a hard time now and their patio is weather proof

Family friendly restaurant. The ladies who worked there are quite friendly and nice. Typical retired Chinese ladies. The tea lady that make specifically tea were excellent as my aunt would attest. I had a pleasure to play badminton with the owner before the lockdown and he was an excellent owner.

Very affordable Hong Kong style cafe. I highly recommend their beef soup noodles and curry fish ball noodles. They also have one of the best HK milk teas in town

I would say if you randomly pointed your finger on the menu and ordered the food, you won’t be disappointed. I ordered their Malaysian fried noodles and it was amazing. Their Hong Kong milk tea is also really good. I’m ready to try their other food, I hear their Malaysian curry beef brisket rice is also really good. Will definitely come back to try some more dishes.

I went to get take out. Satay beef Instant noodles. Should be fast right? WRONG. I was one of the first people to be in the restaurant. You think they would prioritize take out first. After all, It's called take out, it's supposed to be fast. I sat there as new customers kept coming in. Around 10 people. Literally 80% of the people in the restaurant ordered and got their food. I asked the waitress working there to please check on my order. She said they should be making it. I waited for 5 more minutes. Turns out they didn't even start making mine and the waitress had to remind them. It's common sense that take out should be quicker than dining in. Because of the waiting time, I was late to work. Something that would of taken 5 minutes took 25 minutes. THEN it gets worse. They messed up the order.there was no satay beef which is what i paid for, just plain noodles. Horrible. Never coming here again.

Poor service. Not even simple greeting when I entered. Gave me the bill at 9: 35pm because she need to close the cash register while I was having dinner. The food is subpar. I will not visit again.

First time here to quick bite.in the afternoon there's a menu for set tea. A set with a light snack and tea or tea quite comfortable seating and it's good to meet up with friends

Been here a few times for breakfast before 11 and for lunch. Prices are decent and they have a lot of meals that come with a drink. This place is always packed. Food is decent.

We stumbled on this cafe as the one we intended to go was closed for a couple of weeks. It’s a place for eat and run, very HK style, small tables. We ordered 4 dishes, like the salted shrimp paste beef Ho fun most. The beef curry sauce was a bit powdery.

Very small tables. Packed n jammed. A place to eat then go. Prices from 11. I have ordered a fried noodle with beef. Not big portion. Quite salty. $1.5 for additional side dishes. Ordered the vegetables which arrived two tiny branches of vegetable. If u are in a hurry don’t come here. We have been waiting for 4 min for a cup of tea. Don’t sit near the entrance caused there will be a lot of people standing next to you waiting for the table。炒貴叼用臘腸?

There is a little bit of a wait on weekends, but the place is nice and the staff are kind. The western style dishes are pretty tasty and the tea is smooth.

Awful experience. We ordered a baked ox tongue rice for my kid. They put rotten tomatoes into the rice. We asked them to cancel the order & the waitress still charging us for the soup which is included in the meal. So ridiculous. Will never go back again.

This is my favourite place for baked pork chops rice in GTA, other dishes are also good quality. Lots of variety in the menu and they are all reasonable price. It’s a typical Hong Kong style cafe, very cozy and it can be very packed during rush peak hours.

We tried it once. The food is just mediocre. They probably cut corners so much that the cheese is watery and tasteless. In the end, we didn't even finished it. I will not come back again.

Good food, well priced and friendly service. A little bit of a line on Saturday morning, but only 10 min wait.

Very bad service. Waitress rushed us to order. And it's not even busy with many empty tables. Food is mediocre and my son said the vegetables tasted funny. All in all, avoid it if possible.

One of the best and if not the best HK cafe in Markham. Everything I've tried on the menu has not disappoint. Thier curried dishes and Hainan chicken is to die for. The drinks are great and not overly sweet, and the soups that come with the specials are great as well.

When you need a quick lunch fix, this is always a good spot. Food is good, price is good, service is friendly. My fav selections are the baked rice/spaghetti meals. If you need a suggestion, Portuguese chicken baked rice! Or any of those baked meals. Solid 4 star effort!

The decor of this place was quite ocean like with a blue undertone.

I ordered the Portuguese curry chicken rice, and omg, there was sooooo much rice. Usually, I would be able to finish an entire plate, but this was huge. The chicken tasted okay and was not spectacular with the curry sauce. I could hardly finish the rice, and I had a quarter of it still left after I was totally full. The price was reasonable with a soup, combo rice and a regular drink for $9.50 plus tax.

Had the Malaysian curry beef brisket and spicy pork chop with egg fried rice. Veggie soup and the lobster seafood bisque with puff pastry. Everything's good and nice. Servers are attentive.

One of the best Hong Kong style cafes in the GTA! The baked rice dishes are massive and delicious. Their breakfasts are also great if you can get there for the breakfast hours. And get their milk tea. One of the most aromatic Hong Kong milk teas I've had anywhere in and around Toronto.

I've been going here since it opened, and I want to say it's been 10+ years, so yeah they've been around for a while!

Their BBQ pork at lunch sells out alllllll the time, I've yet to try, and their beef fried rice noodle has a wonderful twist from the traditional recipe.

It's your HK style cafe with some flare and fusion!

I give them 9/10!

3 stars - 1 for the decent food, 1 for the decent price, and 1 for the fast cooking from the chefs. No stars for the service as there is no service. I come here somewhat often and one of the ponytail ladies is especially rude. I shed a tear whenever I leave tips before I go. In the next 10 years, the bad service will be replaced by efficient robots who will not give you bad attitude, AND there will be no need to tip the robots too. I look forward to that day.

This is a good place for a quick meal and the price is reasonable although not many varieties to offer.
