I was recently a patient at the Norman site and admitted through Emerg. I could not have asked for better, more attentive care. From the Dr.to the cleaning staff- they were exemplary. The food was typical hospital fare- but decent variety and served piping hot- on schedule. I was there for 5 days and they renewed my faith in the system.

Managers make mistakes left and right after the cyber attack but if employees make the same mistake they get reprimanded. Garbage accountability. This cyber attack proved how uselessly incompetent management is.

Was at emergency most of the day Saturday. Dr. Douglass and the staff were very helpfull and caring. Could not have asked for better care. Hats off to the emergency department staff

As a native person, I was put in a room with dirty sheets, i was coughing up a combination of neutral brown and green with specs of blood and the best reply I get after a chest x-ray was "just drink water and Tylenol. If any of what you have told me gets worse, then come back. " After she literally suggested that I have an infection and gave not a single thing to help me. Definitely warning people about this. And to top it all off. There was only one doctor in the whole building. So I can't imagine how many people may have been denied any pharmaceutical help which they could have used. Never in my life while visiting a doctor have I just been told to "deal with it" after confirming an infection. Simple script of citrothromycin would have helped my infection, but instead I'm told to drink water and wait it out after getting told it could last for over a month.

After sitting in the ER for 3+ hours watching people come in and get admitted BEFORE me I had enough. It's not the first time either. One of the worst hospitals around

From the moment you walk through the doors you are aware of the current protocols, with masks & hand sanitizer right there. Friendly people behind the desk easily point you in the right direction, and if possible, when a person is unsure, they will come and personally walk you to the correct area.

The nurses are busy busy, all the while being polite, respectful, conscientious, caring & cheerful.

The hospital staff does a great job at keeping the entire hospital clean and will return repeatedly to common areas. They're like the people behind the scenes, we'd be lost without them.

The doctors I've encountered are always very professional, no feeling of being rushed despite a packed waiting room.

They don't care about severe mental health patients they will kick them out immediately before there even fully recovered to which I heard they kicked out multiple patients to let others in! My brother hasn't even been there a WEEK before discharging him, he is having a very hard time with his severe mental health illness & there psychiatrist Dr. Zumbie is a huge bully! He shouts & yells, belittles & laughs & doesnt take his patients seriously! I'm extremely hurt & upset with our Blue Water Hospital Mental Health section. If you can't handle your job than get a new one! I will be reporteding this to the higher ups! Favoritism should be ILLEGAL! YOUR JOB is to keep the mentally ill patients until they are WELL before releasing! He came home Crying he is SCARED!

Terrible place! Sent me home twice when I was literally dying. I ended up going into a coma and had to have my toes amputated and they kept sending me home until finally I laid on the triage chairs and refused to go. Terrible!

I have been there several times in the last couple weeks and the er staff have been good. The ambulance attendants have been great. Except for two. I have an aversion to loud noises and they came at me loud and got louder when I asked them to please not talk so loud. I went ever again.ospital anyway what a mistake.one of the patients threatened to stab me with his iv needles so I left. I dont feel safe there anymore so I will never seek help thereagain.

Unvaccinated friends of mine were treated very poorly by staff because of their vaccine status.
19 January 2023 13:18
My step-mother was brought in by ambulance and had received amazing care! I would like to acknowledge the attendant at ER entrance with her kind and courteous behaviour. I believe her name was Joan or Jean, the waiting room was packed and she was non-stop! Thank you, for such great service best that I seen in meeting the needs of patients and visitors coming in.

I just left after 4 hours of waiting to not been seen by anyone except one lady who heard me crying in pain for two hours, so she brought me an advil. Not to mention when i did end up walking out, there was no body in any of the rooms beside me, all the curtains were open no one in the beds, and no one in waiting rooms. Really just disappointed, i sat and thought about even going there for quite some time before i went because i knew the waits have always been rough, but i told myself it would be best for me and my health to Atleast figure out what’s wrong n not have to deal w the pain as much tomorrow, but guess I’m still clueless and in pain. I do get hospitals can be busy but if a doctor came to see me, I’m sure my diagnosis would have been made in under ten minutes. Thanks sarnia hospital. You never fail to prove why i should just go to petrolia.

Dr. S Muhammad Ally should not be allowed to perform medicine. Last night, I attended the ER due to severe pain in my tooth. Dr. Ally used a light to look at my gums for 10 seconds, said my TOOTH pain was caused by my GUMS, and gingivitis. She offered me antibiotics, which I refused, and a mild prescription for the pain. When I asked her to document that she had not done any tests, she refused. When I requested a medical note stating that no tests were completed, she refused and said she is not required to provide me with any medical documentation. I asked to speak with her supervisor, and her response was "I don't have a supervisor". When I continued to press the matter, she decided to leave the room, and go to the nurses station and start complaining loudly about how I was being an unreasonable and crazy patient who should be seen by the mental health team. I asked the nurses at the nursing station to "speak to Ms. Ally's supervisor" and Dr. Ally corrected me angrily and said "that's doctor to you". I politely apologized and continued to request of the other nurses to speak with Dr. Ally's supervisor. The nurses were rolling their eyes at me and looking at me like I was insane. They started to call a charge nurse, but by that time, I was in pain, had already waited for a long time to be seen, and I was clearly being completely brushed off, despite the fact that I was just trying to advocate for myself and my health the ways I was taught to in the Lambton College Patient and Family Advocacy course I took in 2021. I am disgusted by the levels of unprofessionalism, and the fact that she openly refuses to do her job or take responsibility, and other nurses allow and enable her not to be held accountable for her own actions. If you ever get this doctor, I would recommend you immediately request to be seen by another doctor, as this one will make you wait for many hours before telling you that your pain or your illness is all in your head.

Preop was a great experience. People very happy and helpful
Was impressed. Was nicer than Londons hospitals experience.
24 September 2022 6:42
Very unprofessional emergency staff. I sat in the respiratory waiting area and watched 3 staff, including 1 doctor, sit at the nearby desk and chat about their personal lives for just over 1 hour.with masks off. Teo elderly patients had their masks slightly lowered and one nurse was very quick to correct them. She then returned to desk, removed her mask again, and continued to talk to other staff who also removed their masks. They were loud and very disrespectful to the sick patients waiting to receive care. Very disappointing experience. I was then taken to a treatment bed that had not been cleaned from the previous sick patient. If the staff actually paid attention to their jobs that would be super helpful!

It would be nice if we had the option to give no stars. I’m embarrassed that this is the type of health service we offer here in Canada.
25 June 2022 9:43
They pay no attention to detail and take the easiest solution without checking anything. 0 stars is more merited than 1

I went here to "amblitory care" which I think is a fancy name for "out patient " department lol. From the moment I was in the hospital the nurses were very professional, following covid protocols. Only the person being treated was allowed in, but that's to keep everyone safe. I was in and out of the appointment very quickly and didn't even sit down for a few minutes and I was called in. Only had a few bad points to the hospital in general. When going into the hospital on the one side the doors were not marked clear (and there were over 4 unmarked ones) and a nurse popped her head out off the staff entrance (that had big letters saying it was staff entrance) and told me that I was to go inside that door. And the other thing was they closed the tim hortons in the hospital yet online it still says it's open. But a positive about this was we walked a few blocks to the Coffee Lodge and they were a great place to go!

Still discriminating against the mask exemption ambulance still has not showed up been a week i have been waiting to get in to emergency cause Mrs. Hawthorne wait of guest service is unable to return a call. I went to London And they told me it was good I came or I could have been dead in another day I was so bad off. As a medically fragile person who has been denied ambulance even when they get here and I am unconscious. I am very scared for this city as its drs nurses ambulance people don't help the disabled. If you have a disability that causes exemption of mask. Move far away every other hospital in ont will treat you with respect. I use London Toronto and Huntsville now and honestly all of them are great. If you are disabled stay away this is the third time I have been denied and that them not letting me in and denying me ambulance has almost killed me twice this year. Thank God for other cities that care about medically helping the disabled. I even have a email from Jeff brook paramedic services admitting they are in the wrong and saying it would get rectified and it didn't as well as the 20 emails I have from Mrs Hawthorne in guest service. I will share with anyone that wants to see them

I attended the Bluewater Hospital with a lot of pain. Long story short I was given inadequate medication and told I needed a family doctor. Im from out of town, and was not happy with my treatment. The next day I went back had nurses bring a chair out and brought me in. I was Givin pain meds, a consult with a doc.then I was injected with pain meds and sent on my way. I couldn't walk so 2 nurses wheeled me out to my car in a chair, put behind the wheel of my car and sent on my way. A week later I'm still in pain and I will never visit that emergency department again!
The Worst visit ever to a hospital!
Well done Bluewater Health.
28 October 2021 9:03
The staff does not give adequate care if you have any mental health issues as soon as they see that you are automatically labeled by the nurses and doctors and they automatically ASSUME you are "crazy"
11 October 2021 2:16
Took my girlfriend to emerge because of pain that could be kidneystone and it took 3 hours just to get seen and it wasn't even busy smh
05 October 2021 19:15
I can't say enough about the treatment that I've received at this hospital.

Because of recent health issues I've had to undergo various CT scans. During a throat CT, A 2.3 cm nodule has been found at the top of my lungs and I have a follow up CT scan booked on my entire lungs to see what else is going on.

I went in for a mammogram and within 2 days I got a call back because a mass was found in my left breast.
They've booked me for a CT scan of my breast, at which point they may biopsy me right at that time.

They are kind and made me feel very comfortable during any procedure and I feel safe to be in their hands for all the upcoming procedures I'm going to be going through. Thank you so much to the doctors the staff at the hospital. You are all amazing

Several trips to the emergency room yielded limited results. I twice was basically chastised to get a family doctor so I could sign papers to be able to be prescribed painkillers. That’s all well and fine except there are no family doctors available in Sarnia. A few say taking new patients but in reality you have to apply and hope the call you. There needs to be more compassionate care here for those without a doctor and no real hope to find one. Overall unimpressed with every attending physicians response to disabling pain. If they can’t quickly diagnose you.then they send you away. Lodged a complaint to hospital patient services and was told all my visits followed protocol. What a sad health care system we have in Ontario!

Went Sunday morning to emergency. Was having a strange discomfort in my chest. I had 12 years ago a blockage near my heart that required an urgent double bypass.
I was promptly directed to registration and in a few minutes taken for a complete checkout. All the required tests were done in a very professional, timely way.
A very positive experience ️

My friend is a patient in rehab. One shower a week. Really! How many showers a week does the staff have

I have never had a bad experience with bluewater health, I am somebody who get injured on a semi-regular basis and i am familiar with the staff there the nurses and doctors are wonderful.
17 April 2021 21:46
I had a horrible fall off my bike, I was taken by ambulance to bluewater health. Due to covid19 I was alone and unfortunately this was my first real medical emergency - thank you to the wonderful staff because of them I didn't feel alone and they took wonderful care of me in emergency.

I had to go back a few weeks later for surgery and again had a great experience with the day surgery floor.

No complaints!

Id like to say that they have the best oncology staff going. They are very caring, my experience here was excellent!

This hospital saved my life I had to have surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. I was so stressed, sad and VERY SCARED. Dr. Douglas, Dr. Elkelani, and nurses Krista, Karen and Libby were all so kind and caring towards me during my stay. It was such a frightening and somewhat traumatic experience for me, but they were all very understanding and compassionate. I never felt alone and they truly listened to me and gave me the best care. The Anesthesiologist (I'm so sorry I forgot his name) on Dr. Elkelani's operation team was also very informative and compassionate and he really eased my fears about going under. This is by far the greatest experience I ever had with my Healthcare and I'm so happy I came in when I did. Thank you, everyone, for your services and your hard work. You saved my life

Have had wonderful amazingly caring individuals in mammogram.mri and ct scan.nuclear medicine. But have a rating of 2 stars for a ct scan individual who is named Amanda and she treated me badly because I asked if she could put the iv in my arm instead of hand. Well I should not asked that as she treated me rudely after that. I mentioned that I was afraid of the hand one but we did the hand and it went fine but her attitude wasn't. I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer and I am very afraid of the individuals who will be looking after me. I would like positive people in my life for this journey and I hope Amanda's days improve.

I went to emerge last week with a migraine.
I waited four hours to see a Doctor. Then I was put in a waiting room to see the doctor that was another 2 hours wait. I asked if I could have something for the pain while I waited for the doctor.
It was a very long process. And it took so long before I got anything to get any relief.
27 October 2020 4:46
BWH is an absolute joke, my wife was experiencing severe abdominal pains and couldn’t move, we got there by 8: 05am, spent 3 hours in the emergency room, no sense of care or urgency. It’s 3: 30pm and they still haven’t done anything meaningful
26 October 2020 11:13
Wouldn't even leave 1 star. Came in with severe abdomen pain and a fever. They're aware it's serious as they hooked me up to a iv right away. I've been here 8 hours and I was finally relieved when the doctor came in and offered me pain meds. She said "I'll get you blood work and urine sample done" even though those were done 6 hours ago. After calling down to the nurse to tell her the doctor said she's sending me for bloodwork and urine again.she said, your results are back and I'll give them to the doctor. That was almost two hours ago. I'm extremely upset. This is very typical for any visit I've had here. Extremely unorganized and neglectful. I could have a disgnosis maybe even be at home. Not everyone cancjust afford to take days off work because it takes you 9 hours to get results to a patient that were available 6 hours before. Oh update: even though I'm in severe pain and they think it's my appendix I'm being sent home to wait for my ultrasound tomorrow.
19 October 2020 7:08
Both times I've gone here last year, I was treated more as a job than a patient. I've heard countless countless countless horror stories from this place. My girlfriend went to the ER at midnight having a very difficult time breathing, they put her in a room by herself and FORGOT about her until 2am. Absolutely horrendous, AWFUL hospital. Terrible.
05 September 2020 0:59
My husband is in extreme pain in his spine, has been to the hospital 3 times about it and nothi g so e because he has no doctor, the doctor that seen him even made the extra effort to let him know if hes not dieing he cant help him what has happened to our health care, so very sad.

I was at bluewater health last night. My dr was concerned about my symptoms of pain right lung area of my chest because I had a blood clot multiple blood clots on my lung just over a year ago that I was treated for so past history being assessed was smart. My drs receptionist walk me over to the Er at bluewater health. Which was really busy. As I waited I did consider going home a few times during the hour I waited while until was registered and the roughly two hours before I was called in. I understood why so I'm good with waitingif it means peace of mind.if I went home it wouldn't be responsible of me if I did have a clot.even though I was uncomfortable and in pain while I waited my turn the level of care I received was exceptional. They really care and the staff really listen to their patients. They involved me in every decision. They really make sure I was safe to go home. I so wanted to go home and not do the last test because the tests results before were promising I would rather be at home with my dog. The said my blood work looked good and xrays were clear then offered the ct scan. Which I almost opted out of doing. As I also dont want tests if it's not necessary to do it. I think the dr knew that too by my responses to her findings because of the drs questions and my answers to those questions. I questioned that decision of going home without the last test and did the test anyway. The ct scan also came back clear. Good news all around.knowing this means I'm sure it was the birth control I was on that caused the clots in the past. Keep in mind I'm 46 now. I am higher risk for that to happen with birth control pills. It turns out My lining around the lung area is inflamed. Painful but not serious.which I'm treating at home. Home is where I prefer to be anyway. I hope it will be a long time before I am ever back in the Er but I know I'll get the best care possible if I end up back there. They do truly care be patient during the process you won't be disappointed.

This hospital is amazing, I have always been treated very well here. I have had surgeries, Sepsis, and other emergencies, and have always been treated in a timely and respectful manner.
06 February 2020 8:24
Just a bunch of joke all the nurses do is stand around and talk my daughter was having an allergic reaction and made her wait 8 hours before giving her anything to reduce the swelling in her throat place is a joke
14 January 2020 22:39
I Can’t say enough good things about my two visits to the day surgery floor in the span of the week. The nurses were awesome, my doctor was fantastic and the anesthesiologists were great! I was comfortable and confident with the staff. Surgery is never pleasant but their kindness and work ethic made things easy to recover. Both teams were fantastic. The day staff November 29th and December 5 afternoon/ evening staff. Thanks
For everything

Recently in the ER, a young lady, who is polite and respectful, took her number and sat down. The Triage Nurse came out for something and was right beside her. The young lady said that she was blind and asked the staff member to please tell her what number she was so she would know when she heard it called. The Triage Nurse (on a Sunday of a holiday weekend and it wasn't that busy even), looked at her but didn't tell her. The young lady was even carrying a WHITE CANE. (That means you have to be legally blind and registered with CNIB.) It took longer for the Nurse to refuse to tell her the number than it would have taken her to tell the young lady what her number was. Fortunately there was a kind gentleman there who heard and witnessed this and let the young lady know what number she was. There is no excuse for staff to be like this. I suggest some AODA training for the ER Triage staff. Later this young lady had to go in to Triage with this very same nurse. The nurse's behaviour was terrible in Triage. Very disappointed.
