I am at twenty with billions profit made by BMO they can afford to pay minimum wage for better service.

Called over 10x trying to get ahold of someone to do with mortgages to make and appointment, left 4 messages. Even went into the branch and called to make sure phones were working. After not being attended to at the service desk after I walked in with one person being delt with at a teller, I had called again. With my phone ringing and people sitting not even budging. Straight to voicemail, yet again. This is the bank I have all my money with? Can’t call for a simple question/ make and appointment. I do not recommend this branch at all and will surely be moving.

Worst customer bank experience and I have accounts with TD and Scotiabank. Teller tells me my promotional account needs to be opened one year while the personal banker Agata tells me the account can be closed, no penalty. Despite asking her multiple times for clarity if there is no penalty, there is then no response.

Came here solely for the promotional offer. I paid my bill late with phone company so that it can be processed for this offer. However, they withdrew the funds a month later and did not charge my account until the next month despite me making a bill payment request in Feb. They then tell me I do not qualify for the promotional offer, when they were the ones that delayed. I met every other condition.

Not only that, Agata kept gaslighting, telling me at first I did not qualify because I made the preauthorized payments but not bill payments while customer rep tells me the opposite. I correct her and she later says I did not make bill payments that were not consecutive. They go through loops and change their narrative. That is not true; it was the one first preauthorized that BMO delayed.

Save yourself the trouble and go to another branch or just don’t deal with BMO. Scotiabank and TD I have had business with for years, no problem whatsoever. They even do expedited shipping requests for me, making additional calls or making appointments for personal investing, telling me I can call them anytime. Never went to BMO but tried for the offer and I realize why no one I know banks with them. I even recently opened an account with CIBC and no problems (!). Just them. Agata does not even properly follow up despite her telling me she would get back to me; have to email request for an update. She misinforms me, can’t keep a story, and says things that misalign. I would not trust her with my money. That says enough.

Stay away from this bunch. I felt manipulated and played with. It was impossible to reasonably communicate when they can’t keep a single narrative.

A very poor reflection of BMO as this was my first ever experience with them.
