If you like wasting your time go to this branch and bank with BMO! Guaranteed dissatisfaction every time:) You can call customer service, talk to tellers and advisors, and get information via mail but they all contradict themselves

Edit: their lines are atrocious. Do yourself a favour and go to another location. Don’t be fooled with short queues either, it’s not uncommon to wait upwards of 15 minutes with only one other person ahead of you. I’ve not had any problems at the surrounding branches - they are WORTH the drive

I attended this branch and had to lift a hold on a bank draft which I had and LINA helped a lot to contact the other branch and made it possible for me in the same day as I had to get this transaction done within the certain time frame, thanks LINA!

Stay away from Hugo Contreras. He is one of the senior employees and loves to stereotype customers. Very rude and unprofessional. I don’t know how BMO hires this type of people. Overall everyone else good.

Very bad Customer service. If you talk or dress a certain way, they will definitely stereotype you. Stay away from this branch.

My buddy just came into this branch to deposit a cheque and one of the Senior employee Hugo Contreras decided to complicate things and give him a hard time for no reason. He was rude and stereotypical towards him. However if anyone decides to come and visit this branch. Stay away from Hugo. Thanks

I am a customer and business owner, and use BMO as my primary bank.
I do not typically go to this branch.

I was in the area and dropped by this branch to deposit a large USD cheque, in addition to a smaller USD cheque.
The teller was being assisted by the branch manager because he was new. She, the branch manager informed me that she typically would not allow the first cheque to be cashed because the cheque was missing the "inc" of my company name. For example, my company name is ABC Company Inc. On the cheque, it was written ABC Company. She continued to explain how, my company could actually be called ABC Company Ltd or something else and i could potentially be fraudulently depositing this cheque.

Second, both USD cheques would take up to 45 business days to clear according to her. She even took out a booklet that explained that explained this. She reinstated that, she doesn't know me, my customer, etc.so it will be held for 45 days. And this would be the case for all USD cheques. In addition, the first cheque was certified but it did not matter to her.

I trusted that she knew what she was talking about, and left without doubting her judgement and built good rapport. I found that she was wrong on both accounts after speaking with a representative from the Eglington and Queen St. E branches. I deposted a small USD cheque of $4600 on Thursday or Friday last week, it cleared within 3 business days.

BMO 2131 Lawrence Avenue east (Westford Centre) branch

I went to this branch to get draft for my visa application as it was closet one on xx-July-2018 and was open early that day.
The lady wo helped approached me when I was in the queue and asked if I want to do any transaction that deals with actual cash. I said I need a draft so she took me to her cabin to help me out with the request.
She issued me draft with incorrect name and then said she will strike out and sign her initials.
Note: Draft is document issued by bank so ideally if anything is changed on it then it becomes void the basic thing that she should know else what is she doing working in a bank? I guess it doesn’t makes any difference for her as my cash and time is on stake she is getting her salary so why would she care.
When I insisted that draft is for my visa application so I don’t want to land up in trouble then she said she would do error correct and issue new one. This time she issues me draft for date 2017 instead of 2018.
I was in hurry as I was getting late for my work so I didn’t check it second time and submitted it hoping everything was correct. I came to know two weeks later by my embassy that draft was rejected as it not valid (draft valid only for 6 months from date of issue)
I had to take another day off from work and go back with new draft. If it was person who worked in any other field and did this I would agree but when someone works in bank and does this then how can they make such a mistake back to back twice?
She messed up my draft twice and I ended up wasting a day of my salary and my visa application was delayed by two weeks, I wish I could sue her. I am not sure but banks should have feedback of employees and their efficiency. My advice is if you end up going to 2131 Lawrence avenue east BMO and end up dealing with same lady check you document twice and ensure you do your homework before you go there. She is so efficient that you will end up losing you time and patience. I will never visit that branch again and never deal with that lady. I have been to other BMO branches in downtown Toronto and the bank employee seen to be more knowledgeable and efficient. If this lady continues to be in customer facing role the bank will surely lose lot of clients soon.

The kind of branch when you come in with an urgent issue 2 days after depositing 10k into your account are unwilling to help because it’s “almost closing time”. Why am I putting my money with you if you cant help me do a fairly simple thing.

This branch Looks Dated. I've only seen one teller, which makes the service slow. Hire more people. I only like the location.

Slow service, always long line and cashiers always operate at half capacity. Save your time and try a different branch!
