Amazing service. Very polite and friendly. The agent who helped his name was Bradon, amazing person very friendly and resourceful. And personal banker rep was very friendly as well. (Omar)

In person service is great. Phone call services are Just atrocious. You won’t hear back from them at all. I leave on an average between 3 to 5 voice messages and I never hear back from people. This doesn’t just seem to be localized to this branch but seems to be the MO of BMO in general because I can attest to the fact other branches do this exact same thing. As someone who is physically disabled and unable to come in two of the branch and ask him what would be a relatively straightforward question. I don’t understand how you serve a whole group of people such as myself who are just not able to walk.

Today, I went into this branch with my child to make a deposit into my account in hopes of transferring these funds to a 3rd party account. I was told that I could either deposit the funds, however there was a limit of deposit it into my account and transfer the fund over to the account. I agreed to transfer the funds over from my account. I provided the teller with the cash and the details of the account, which was a reputable business account. The teller then told me that it will show my account number on this transaction. I was a little puzzled as to why she would be telling me this however I said okay, is there a new way you can conceal the account number because I was not aware of any changes in process. She said no, I said that is fine I have nothing to hide. After the transaction was processed, I asked her for a receipt confirming the deposit into the 3rd party account. At the end of the transaction the teller asked me for ID, which I thought was out of the ordinary. I asked the teller why she needed my ID, she said she needed to confirm my identity because she doesn't know who I am, she then went on to speak of fraud. Very confused, I took out my wallet and presented the ID to the plexiglass. The teller then tells me no I need to hold the ID. In the midst of the pandemic I have not seen any businesses which require ID request to "hold the ID" to verify who you are. I took my ID out and told her this was an inconvenience. She took the ID and gave it back; I then asked to speak to a manager. Luckily the manager was there, I asked her about the scenarios in which they would require ID, the manager went on to explain they require ID then the transaction is above the tellers limits, when that occurs they would call over a manager before proceeding. I asked her why the teller did not call her over, since she is a manager and why didn't she ask for my ID at the beginning of the transaction. The manager went on to tell me about fraudulent bank drafts, I responded okay, but this is not a bank draft or cheque this is cash. I have banked with BMO for years and other institutions and I have never been treated like this in my life. Being a young black woman, I told the manager that I do feel this was driven by race and my age, not any internal procedure, because I am an ex-employee. Ofcourse she reassured me this is not the case, however that is not enough. I am very displeased and disheartened by the experience I had today and after reading a review from my own previous colleague at the bank I now see that there is in fact an issue with how this branch treats customers. It's unfortunate that my child had to witness racism and ageism in it's raw form. I hope this branch gets it together quickly!

Very good branch and people are amazing! Book appointment ahead of time is always a good choice to save you waiting time. Overall all staffs are very friendly.

Worst branch I've ever dealt with in fact had my very worst banking experience ever with this branch and I've been banking for 30 years. Im not sure if its I don't look like a business owner I received the treatment I did or if it's the branches protocall to treat everyone badly. A couple of weeks ago I went in to address a hold on my account, I had forgotten that on the first deposit in the account there would be a 7 business day hold on the deposits. When I asked to see a manager I was asked to sit in the waiting area. When the manager came out they started discussing my personal financial business in front of everyone in line and at the sitting area until I had to point out how unprofessional this was and why dont they have an office? Then once in the office when I was asking for a partial release on some of the funds the manager very painstakingly
went over every deposit in my personal account doing an account history scrool asking me what every deposit was when they could just pull up the deposit logs. Then rudely suggested that I should have some savings to cover this. I'm expected to take money out if RRSP'S loose 10% when i could request the bank have some discretion as I have my personal accounts with them for years im also an ex employee who knows that they have the liberty to this discretion if they so choose. I was disparaged, talked down to and treated like a delinquent. In face the whole experience has sent me to opening an account with TD Bank so I can shift everything once I have built the relationship. As an ex employee I cannot tell you how disappointed I was to see how little this branch values its customers when the whole banks philosophy is based on the highest level of customer service. That branches only saving grace is the lovely teller who I dealt with after the manager when I still wasn't able to transfer the funds. I want to make sure this review in no way effects her as she did her best to handle me when I was already furious with being treated as nothing. Im hoping that voice of the customer picks this up.that whole interaction was a disgrace.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I had an appointment for 30 minutes to add people to an account and the employee said it would take too long as she had a conference with the company at at 3 pm. Clearly this branch puts its needs of a conference ahead of its customers.

Just got 1st time home mortgage, my mortgage advisor Atif was EXTREMELY thorough and transparent throughout entire process. Always worked in my best interest, listened to my concerns. Went in to speak to a teller about doing a wire transfer. The employee I dealt with was rude, made things difficult and I finally gave up/left.

Came in here and there is more security, strange.door locked etc. I live and work in the US never seen that before, yes some has glass plated, Usually welcoming. Does canada have a secuity issue, also every bank now has indian yes all yes all indians are secuity. They are scammers them selves, all international students that have come to canada for the loophole of gaining pr.

I used to Bank at the branch over 15 years ago and the interior of the branch is always clean, but when it comes to the drive thru banking machine, it is absolutely DISGUSTING. Various other banks have Outdoor drive thru machines and they are so clean.but this branches has been filthy for years now not sure why it is like this but looks bad on the bank.i have pics but cannot upload to this tool.

The South Common Branch doesn't have the best customer service. Some people are helpful, but its a roll of the dice who ends up providing you with service.

I have banked at this location for over 10 years and with BMO for almost 20, there has definitely been a decline in customer service.

I have now dealt with at least a half dozen people at this branch and ALL of them are nicer than any personell I have interacted with since Canada Trust closed years ago. Keep up the good work.

I was in this BMO location 2 weeks ago, was trying to find some help of releasing the security deposit in my account for my BMO credit card. That was my first credit card, BMO asked me to do $1000 security deposit with them. The teller in BMO sq1 branch has told me that money could be released after I graduate from university and find a stable job. Now I satisfied what they told me, so I brought my employment letter to the south common branch. An Asian guy with glasses was helping me (not racism, I'm Asian as well). When I told him what I came for, he said he couldn't offer any help, I have to call master card company by myself (*with his dead face, contemptuous and cold tone). What made me feel really bad is his bad attitude, seems like he just wanted to finish me earlier and go to sleep.

After I walked out from south common BMO, I went to the other BMO branch at Erin Mills Town Center directly, and they were willing to help me. A nice guy in the office named Brain helped me to call the master card company and uploaded employment letter. Same bank, completely differ in service in the different branch, very interesting

Hello, Just want to tell everyone, I recently tried to use "BMO Travel Mastercard" in the Dom. Rep. Flat out refused, I had to pay a stranger 10us.to use his credit card or leave my luggage behind! Thanx BMO! It was the "Pre-paid Travel Mastercard". If there was confusion.

I had the worst experience in this location. I have bin banking with bmo for 10 years i never had this happen to me before. I wanted to deposit my check and the teller said she could not deposit it because i didnt have my second last name on the check the same check i have bin depositing every 2 weeks for the past 5 years. I was very angry I had ID and they still would not allow me to deposit my check I had to go to another bmo explain what happen for them to allow me to deposit my check. Both manager and teller at this bank were both stupid.
