Amazing chocolate birthday cake. Delivered on time, taste and moistness of the cake was phenomenal

I was expecting a bit more from this place. Coffee was not fresh. It was a bit cold and bitter. The portion is also very small. (The photo shows what was served to me). The kids had brownies and loved it. The atmosphere is good. I would be visiting more if they can improve their coffee and increase the serving size.

Tried the strawberry cupcake, lemon tart and blueberry scone with clotted cream. Everything was delicious! The cupcake frosting is so addictive and creamy!

We ordered cupcakes here for our baby shower and they were gorgeous! And delicious:) This will be our cupcake place moving forward

They are so good I'm almost glad they are not within walking distance!

I had previously given the store a poor rating for their customer service. I heard back from Krista immediately asking me to specify the issues I was speaking of. I answered her and she listened and acknowledged that these issues would be addressed.

I adore this neighbourhood bakery. I wish there were more places like this one! I've been multiple times and love the handcrafted drinks and the pastries are not only delicious but photo worthy!

Loved our custom birthday rose cake. Everyone loved the cookies & cream (Oreos) chocolate cake flavor! It looked gorgeous and it tasted delicious and fresh. Will order again.

Amazing vibe and gorgeous, vintage decorations. Definitely try the blueberry pie and warm cider. Friendly and polite staff, special thanks to Sama who gives us suggestions about pastry.

Very bad customer service! Had an issue regarding a pudding that contains alcohol, they never admitted that it has alcohol but at the same time the lady on the phone said that the manager says that alcohol evaporates so there is nothing they can do! Also we've been waiting for a small refund for more than a week because they forgot to include a birthday note! Sorry guys we've ordered many cakes/tarts from you over a 2 year span but not any more. Thanks!

Holiday orders are a complete disaster. Arriving very late beyond time scheduled for pick up. I showed up at 11 AM and waited over 30 minutes for a preorder I ordered 4 weeks ago. The food is good but preorders are a mess. My friend said she came on a weekday and the scones weren’t available at 9 either. I waited half an hour to be told (after they were unloading the first late delivery truck) that my order was not there yet and probably on the second delivery van. I had to leave and make another trip on Christmas Eve.

Went back 3 hours later, 2 hours before closing and my order has still not arrived at the store. I cannot make 3 trips in one day. Horrendous!

Edit: They acknowledged the problems of Christmas Eve orders and have refunded me for my troubles. I made a suggestion that orders be delivered to the store in the order that they were received since I made the Christmas Eve order for a box of scones 4 weeks prior. Even though they were short staffed, there’s no reason my order was near the end and on the later delivery past 2: 30 PM.

I am absolutely saddened to leave this review. The cakes are amazing. The cupcakes are delicious. So what's my concern?

1. They are never in stock. We love the hazelnut cake and drive 45 minutes just for the cake. However each time we go they are out.

2. They don't have a phone at the location. Are we living in 2022 or 1922? I can't call to find out what they have in stock. I can't message on social media. So instead I have to drive 45 minutes to find out what's in stock for the day. I asked to message on social media. Nope can't do it because no one will answer on time. The number on the site goes to head office, who also don't pick up. Why run a business where you are dealing with people, but don't allow a way for people to communicate with?

3. Depending on the mood of the staff member sometimes they close the shop 10 minutes earlier. This happened to us as well.

I love the place but they should focus on customer support for the business. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back.

Pumpkin pie tasted alright but edges were like mushy in texture.also, at this price point / bakery status, I was expecting a decent presentation for gifting but the plain white box made it seem like I just picked it up off a farmers market or something.had good selection of treats available on display, I would like to eventually try the whole cake but not sure with the recent new prices for the relatively simple layer cakes.

Every time we order a cake from bobbette & belle it’s always better than last time. The cakes are so delicious and flavour profile is so good. You cannot find better cakes. Period.

It would be wise as a business, to answer your phone when customers call. I drove half way across the city hoping to purchase a few scones for a meeting I was attending. No one answered my multiple phone calls over the course of an hour. So I took the chance, drove all the way there and walked in to see someone purchasing the last few scones. What kind of customer service are you running? Answer your phone.

Ordered a 6" buttercream hydrangea cake for my niece's birthday. She absolutely loves it. The piping work is exquisitely done and very life like. And the raspberry chocolate cake is divine. Rachel was extremely helpful and ordering online was easy.

The chocolate hazelnut cake is to die for and a family favourite for special events, especially because it's not too too sweet - albeit it has gotten much pricer over the years

Cutest little bakery in the neighborhood. Very consistent and high quality baked goods. The cupcakes actually taste like the names of the flavors (my favourite is the hazelnut chocolate)! The pastries are fresh and flaky. And best of all, the servers are welcoming and actually look like they are GLAD you stopped in for a coffee!

Surprised my bf with the Ultimate Chocolate Cake. Everyone just kept mentioning how incredible and creamy this cake was. It looks and tastes amazing. I also had it delivered on time!

I understand your need to create a different narrative on this public platform, however, your account of this situation is false.

You stated that Katrina had mentioned that your bakery was at capacity for online orders. When in fact, Katrina never mention anything about online orders, nor that your bakery had reached its capacity for orders in general. She in fact, reassured my wife that there would be plenty of availability to purchase more of the cake pops on Saturday morning. My wife verified with Katrina twice.

The resolution put forward was that we were able to pick up two decorative cupcakes, which we did not want, at the Queen Street location. Which is on the other side of the city. How is this a resolution?

When my wife called in, Katrina advised her that she would be calling back to let her know what can be done. An hour after the initial call we received no callback and attempted to call back two or three times to no avail. It wasn't until I called in that they picked up the phone and I was rudely hung up on.

If you spent half the time trying to resolve this issue, then you did changing the narrative on this public platform, this could have easily been resolved.

My wife has emailed you and we have yet to hear back from you privately. This reaffirms your concern only for your business's image rather than for your customers experience or your staffs mistreatment of your customers.

Reading through the reviews, it's very apparent that your staff treats your customers poorly.

At this point in time, we're not looking for any further resolutions. Your response to this situation further validates our feeling towards your bakery and we no longer wish to support your business.

We get pastries from this bakery a lot! Always superb service and excellent pastries! The butter tarts are absolutely the best I’ve had anywhere! Always friendly and quick service. Definitely a place we will continue to come back to!

Tasty, beautiful and uniquely flavoured cupcakes! But the packaging could have been better. I ordered half a dozen cupcakes. I was expecting to receive one box of 6 (as shown on your website). Instead, I received one box of 4 cupcakes and then 2 separate boxes with 1 cupcake in each. This was not ideal as I was gifting it to someone. I imagine you ran out of boxes of 6. A handwritten note or explanation would have been appreciated. Nonetheless, the box of 4 was still pretty and I would probably order from here again:)

Let me start of my review by saying that I've reported this business not only to their Head Office, but to the City for not complying with the mask by-law. Clearly they haven't read it in its entirety. I take this kind of matter very seriously because we are also business owners and would never treat our customers the way we were treated. My family was refused service today for the first time ever because my 2 healthy toddlers were not wearing masks. Not once has this ever happened to us in any store in this city or the GTA. Both my husband and I were masked but my 3 & 4 years old were not because they're exempt. Funny thing is, we've visited this establishment several times this year with our healthy bare-faced toddlers and no word has been said to us. We've always been warmly greeted and well served but today was different. When we walked in, a tall, white, brunette, female server who I did not recognize saw us and immediately walked over to her colleague, black, male server with a British accent and whispered something in his ear. As she was quietly talking to him, my toddlers were picking out some treats that they wanted. A few minutes later the black server walked over to use to tell us our children had to be masked. First of all, she should be ashamed of herself, sending over her black colleague who was actually busy, to speak to us when she could have done so herself. Is it because we're black that she felt she had to send him to speak to us when she was closest to us and actually saw us first? She saw us all come in first and therefore should have addressed us herself. Anyway. When I told him my children won't be masked because they aren't able to wear masks, he asked another lady who served us a few weeks prior (the manage maybe?) if they had to be masked and she very rudely responded with "they have to wear masks". What she should have said actually is "Hi, if they have an exemption, no problem. What would you all like today? " But no. She didn't greet us or say anything else to us besides those 5 words in a rude tone. My husband took the things my children picked up and put them back and we left. First, we're unlawfully refused service, and then someone fully capable of addressing us, sends a black server to speak to us because we're black, I guess (pathetic is an understatement). Needless to say, we will NEVER visit this establishment again. They don't value their customers who support them. Only a person with no sense would turn away good business. We were in their store for at least 5 minutes. In that time we could've purchased our items and left. But they were more concerned about our perfectly healthy toddlers' faces being uncovered. Sad and ridiculous. So many businesses have shutdown around the city and customers like us, there would be no Bobbette & Belle. It was sad to see my children crying not understanding why they couldn't get what they wanted. Shame on you. We ended up driving 15 minutes up the street to a wonderful vegan bakery where they welcomed us warmly with smiles and served us really really well. REPORTED x2 & CANCELLED! I expect to hear back from the city's by-law officers and from your Head Office next week. I will see this matter all the way to the end because nobody deserves to be treated that way.

The cupcakes here are quite good, although a little too sweet for my taste. I also picked up a few macarons, and some of them are stale. The espresso one was very hard and did not have the texture of a macaron at all. For the price, it was a little surprising that I picked up old macarons.: (

What I like about this place most is that they don't go over the board with the sweetness on their desserts. It feels like the sweet side is toned down to highlight a broader spectrum rich flavours and textures - like the slight bitterness of cocoa on the torte, or how the lemon meringue tart carries an almost savory taste along with the zestiness & creaminess. If you want to actually treat yourself (rather than binge on desserts out of sweet cravings) this is the place to go.

My favourites - Chocolate torte, fleur de sel cookie, and butter tart.

A lovely cafe with a variety of desserts to choose from. The selection ranges from cakes, to cupcakes and even macaroons. They can get quite pricey, so expect to spend 6bucks for a slice of cake. However, they do taste lovely (try the carrot cake).

Only three things you need to know about B&B:
1. Blueberry Scones
2. Carrot cake
3. Repeat

Ordered a Chocolate Birthday cake for my Wife's birthday and it was SO good! Great texture and taste. The staff was friendly as well. We're already order from The Rolling Pin again for future occasions. Definitely going to come back again

Fresh bread, pastries, cakes and cookies baked fresh on premises. Serve yourself racks, so you can choose the one you like. Definitely going to come back again

Their quality has gone down. Got a muffin, cookies and fudge there this morning. The muffin and fudge was ice cold, not fresh, not even fully defrost. They were not day-of baked. I could have got it from Metro. Over priced. Disappointed.

The young workers here were not wearing their mask properly. Nor did they handle the food with gloves. The toffee muffin I got tastes very old and dry and the carrot cake tasted stale.

Great selection of cakes and the girl who organized my gift with cookies was amazing! However, there is one particular employee who is extremely rude and condescending towards all clients. She gave strange looks when I was placing my order, and muttered something under her breath the entire time with the other employees. She did not give off any warm vibes and tbh ruined the ambience of the store. Her demeanour was very unwelcoming. Don’t know if I’ll be coming back to this location.

Artisanal bakeshop? I think not. Very disappointed - broken macarons falling off on a $95 custom cake? ! You be the judge (see real life pics vs.instagram)

- Ordered $95 6" Cookies n creme Macaron Ombre Cake
- My expectations: Knew going in I was intentionally paying a premium for the design of the cake so I was expecting the aesthetics and presentation to be immaculate (perhaps not as pristine as what instragram shown)
- Outcome: Terrible construction and finish, quality control, falling apart; good taste, terrible value

When presented the cake for inspection prior to payment, two of the macarons already fell off.
Largest complaint I have was with the overall construction and finish. You would think that an almost $100 cake would look close to perfect. Instead, the macarons were already sliding off when picking up (in hindsight, I guess I could have refused the cake and requested a refund of sorts but it was the day of the birthday and who in my position would've prepared a backup plan as I never had this experience elsewhere before). When it came around to serving in the evening, somehow a couple of the macarons were cracked and needless to say, four of them also slid off the surface of the cake (I manually put them back on for the purpose of photo taking). Mind you, we were extra careful when transporting the cake like anyone would for a $100 cake and followed storage instructions to keep at room temp. Does it require such difficult technique to set some macarons vertically on a cake especially if you're considered a bonafide professional cakemaker, and so much for being specialists in macarons.

At the end of the day, I just wanted a very nicely designed cake and was willing to pay more for the visual appeal. Let alone visually underwhelming, the cake failed to meet the most basic quality standards. Although the cake tasted great, it was essentially a chocolate cake, takes nothing special to do well. I could have gotten equally great tasting chocolate cakes for less than half the price with better construction and finish. These self proclaimed artisanal bakeshops are overrated. Please don't call yourself an artisan if you can't make a macaron stand upright. I reckon some of your bakers are rudimentary, novice at best. To all prospective buyers, just stick to a custom LaRocca or pickup from Pusateri's. Was so excited for this cake but instead put a damper on the birthday girl's sentimental day.

Not sure what B&B has going on for them in terms of cakes cause if they can't do luxury custom cakes well, I'm not sure how they are differentiating themselves from the market especially when you need to pay $20-25 more for their most basic cakes, perhaps their small pastries are better. They have certainly lost credibility for me - would not recommend for custom cakes.

PS. B&B - If you're reading this, please don't sell a product that you haven't sufficiently and successfully tested in your test kitchens, I suspect this could also be a reason behind the poor construction.

Pretty coffee and pastry shop but the quality of the actual food doesn’t match the prices. I find it a bit pretentious in there but it’s cute.

They very nicely kept their shop open a little later than normal before a holiday so my scatterbrained parents could pick up the cake they completely forgot about. The chocolate hazelnut cake was worth it (always). Thanks for accommodating my parents!

Bobbette & Belle has by far the best Macarons in North America so far. My partner and I love the double chocolate, hazelnut, pistachio and espresso Macarons. We come here on a regular basis and finally decided to purchase their recipe book last week to start our journey to perfecting the macaron ourselves.

My review is purely based on the macarons, customer service and interior design of the shop. These are by far the best macarons in Toronto. So much hard work, attention to detail and flavour is captured in every bite! I am a huge chocolate lover so I can never resist the double chocolate or hazelnut macarons with their airy, crunchy outside and the chewy, pillowy decadence of the ganache on the inside. Highly recommended!

Amazing rich chocolate cake. I bought one yesterday (ultimate chocolate cake) and absolutely loved it. Rich, moist, creamy chocolatey. Best cake ever! Worth the $$$$.
