You can find almost everything that you are looking for, in groceries. Can get some wonderful discounts, even half price, in the perishables section.

It's okay. Value did not seem to be much better than other places (if at all), produce wasn't great

A decent store, but expensive with a light selection compared to other grocery stores in the area.

Good location with lots to do in the area.

There was lots of discounted food, not sure if it was because of the upcoming holiday or not. Their milk selection, which is what we went there for, was very bare didn't have what we normally get for our child.

Cashiers were nice and pleasant.

The prices are double anywhere else and half the time the food is completely rotted. The place is really dirty. I genuinely hate shopping at this grocery store

Not a very big store so there weren't too many options.

This is a funny little grocery store that I've always enjoyed hanging around in. They have lots of clearance racks around with neat stuff.

The staff were friendly and went above and beyond. I was hour late for my grocery order but I called and they held it for me. They brought it out within 2 minute of me arriving and even helped me organize it so my bicycle saddle bags were evenly weighted and nothing got squished. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I realized after I got home that I didn't get one of the items I ordered. I didn't bother to follow up because it was only $3 but if I did I'm sure they would have replaced it. Mistakes happen! The awesome customer service far exceeded the $3.

Smaller store but well organized and clean. Shelves fully and neatly stocked, produce fresh. First visit here and pleasantly surprised! Recommend.

Been going for a year now, Always so nice to meet and greet you with smile and positive vibes, stores slightly more expensive but also has hard sought after items and there chicken burgers are the best along with Mac n cheese, scallops potatoes. Great place.

When cashiers wander off leaving long lineups to form, that's absolutely not acceptable. This store only has two checkouts open at any time. Customers get frustrated and those, leaving the other one with a very difficult situation. Sad store Valu Mart Waterloo.

I just needed some ingredients to make my favorite dinner. Always quick and easy at valumart. I feel relaxed and never stressed because my dinner always turns out great.

The store is small but has a great selection.
They have a tone of vegan foods and also the hard to find vegan whipped cream!

Great selection and quality, between the 10% student discount and being right on the Ion line, it's a no brainer.

Great store, and probably one of the best places to actually buy goods. Fresh fruit and tasty as well! The store looks small from the entrance but actually is huge. I would recommend going on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday though to get a 10% discount if possible. The store layout is a little strange and the lines seem inconvenient however it is a very good place to buy groceries and FAR less populated than Walmart.

This shop looks bigger than you’d think, and is nicely tucked away, which I really like. While the actual ‘mall’ it’s in is VERY small and limited in ‘shops’ as advertised, this grocery store is well stocked and has pretty decent prices and variety in produce. I oddly really love the vibe of coming here and have never had any issues.

This is a small grocery store that has a lot to offer. If you need it it will be there. Friendly staff and customer service.

This store is ok, it is clean, well maintained, and the staff are quite pleasant, however the owner is a bit of a jerk sometimes, and other days he is super nice. All in all this is a great store to do your shopping.

Wasn't to happy with my last trip, couldn't use my points an the prices of half the items are over priced in the store. There is no valu to valu mart here. Clean place an good location an some good staff. Not much more. They also had no big cases of Gatorade to find they only have room for one on the shelves

Was a pain to shop as I am mask exempt. Eventually was allowed to go about my business and shop. I was asked rudely for 'medical papers', something that is illegal to ask for and also not required by law. At the end of the conversation before I could shop the manager decided to insult me and my child calling us selfish for being mask exempt.
I am not sure how that is possible to be selfish as mask exempt individuals. I know it was not selfish of me to ask permission from the manager before my daughter and I shopped. He was completely disrespectful and his comment / attitude was uncalled for. Luckily for the mouthy manager I had my child with me. He would be smart to remember what he has posted on the stores signs regarding mask and honour them without argument or comment.

Kind helpful staff. Owner is hard working and willing to pitch in. Store is clean and well stocked.

Bob's valu-mart is a fairly standard discount grocery store. I appreciate that they carry PC products. Produce is marginally better than other discount grocery chains like food basics but still worse than Zehrs and Sobeys. Prices are cheaper or equal to Zehrs for many items but their prices will be beaten by Food Basics for many items.

We went into Bob's Valu-Mart today. We were greeted by Bob and when we went to cash, Bob helped us out. Thank you Bob, what an awesome experience!

The staff is so friendly and everything you need is available over there. I shop around all places in Waterloo and the only downfall I noticed is that sometimes the produce is not that fresh

Normally I enjoy shopping here, but pay attention to the monitor when you are checking out - the cashier overcharged me for three cucumbers when I only bought one: (

Bob and his team are friendly and helpful. This grocery store is especially easy to navigate during the pandemic.

I love the cashiers and service staff here. They're always so sweet, and there's this one older cashier lady who is so kind and talkative and makes me want to buy from here everyday so I can talk to her. They have a good amount of fresh groceries with good variety. They have optimum points so that's also a bonus!

Great selection and good prices. They have lots of baked goods that are 50% off and still taste extremely good! Even their gluten free options are very yummy and cost only a few cents more than the regular ones. The most outstanding thing about this store though is their excellent staff! Super friendly and talkative.:)

I will never shop here again. Bob is rude, meat is past due and advertised specials are sold out. Sobey's, walmart, and other stores will get my service as well as good word of mouth.

I love this place. Always good selection. Their produce is always fresh and delicious. Their hot counter is my favorite stop. Great food for a great price. Love visiting for a quick easy lunch.

This grocery store has done an exceptional job with its handling of the pandemic. I've noticed that the checkout lanes typically have two staff assigned and the staff are very efficient in cleaning the surfaces and bagging purchases. There is a clear use of signage relating to COVID precautions, which I don't believe is true for all businesses and I really appreciate this clear stance on safety.

Aside from my observations around the pandemic: I have been going to this store on and off for a little over two years now, and the staff have always been wonderful! The owner of the store has a clear presence and, independent of the owner I'm sure, the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Their you-must-use-to-enter hand sanitizer absolutely REEKS (and yes I had a mask on!). Prices rang up much higher than shelf price (causing much delay as cashier had to find someone to check the shelf) and cashier had never heard of the Scanning Code of Practice that's clearly Posted At Her Register and had to ask thru 2 other staff to see if it was for-real and then how to do it.

My go-to for groceries, they have a nice vegan deli section and neat discounts (especially the 10% off Tuesday for students). Be sure to check your deals on your receiptbecause sometimes they don't appear. Their customer service is really good when I've had problems with my receipt though.

They are VERY concise of safety. There was someone wiping down the baskets and carts. The products are good and the staff is friendly. I often go for the things on sale but, doesn't everyone.

Just an FYI, you might have the right to refuse whomever you want, but you still are not allowed to
actually legally tell people to leave their property at the front of your store.

You assume your customers will be thieves, and predominantly discriminate against students and people who rely on public transit because we rely on backpacks.

The impact of me having my property stolen is a far more financial burden on me, than if someone manages to steal a ham or something from you. You're owned by Loblaws, who priced fixed bread for how many years, stealing money from your customers pockets? Yet, you have the audacity to request I leave my bag at the front and I am meant to trust you? I will never shop there again.

I really appreciate the extra effort Bob and the other employees are putting in to make grocery shopping safe during this pandemic.

Only open 8am to 8pm but yet normal people have to wait till 9am. Grow a brain. Should be doing 7am to 8am for seniors so regular people can have the 8am to 8pm. Thankfully where i work we're not the stupid

I am changing my review. I had a few bad experiences a few years ago however customer service has vastly improved. The employees are helpful and I have not had any problems at all since. A great and pleasant place to shop.

This is one of the worst places I have ever shopped. Not only is it over-priced, they are constantly out of stock of plethora of items consistently. The only redeeming factor of the store is the close proximity to my home, and yet, I am likely to never return. Truly bad

Good place in the heart of Waterloo but needs better access to parking. Also very pricey compared to Food Basics, Freshco, and No Frills.

Prices are on the higher side and sales generally aren't any cheaper. They carry most of the President's Choice products and you can collect PC points. I've had a couple bad experiences with the cashiers during the day shift at this location. It's also very hard to find someone working on the floor if you need assistance finding a product or sale item.

Seems like it has odd closing times some days. Friendly staff. Sometimes when there are certain sales on, they completely sell out of the item fast, and aren't able to re-stock for a few days, but usually because it's a good deal.

Lots of option. Can be a bit expensive, but is a good place to go to when you want to get all your necessary grocery without going to a lot of places
