This was our first visit, the atmosphere was very friendly, family owned. We had the veal and chicken parmesan sandwiches and they were excellent. It was a large sandwich but it didn't make you feel heavy as the food is so clean. You can tell its honest home cooked food. They also roast their own coffee. I was impressed about the food you can purchase to take home to make a mid week meal easy to heat up, knowing its cooked fresh. I lost my phone so no pictures. I'll take my own next time.

The food at Bodira Cafe is delicious! It’s all homemade and so very fresh. It’s the best eggplant parmigiana and rice balls I have ever had. So happy to have such a great place to stop at for some tasty food. Not to mention, the owners Sebastiano and Ann are the most lovely people.

Owners are super friendly they also have great food and imported products from Italy! Highly recommend!

The veal and cappuccino were delicious! Although there were no more cannolis left, the owner was quick to make me a fresh one with their house-made ricotta filling. Definitely going to go again!

Anne and Sebastian are the loveliest people I’ve encountered. The cafe has great selections of Italian products and their freshly baked goods are to die for (I got the croissant and it was just splendid). I will be returning for their homemade gelato before they run out!

My family and friends discovered this lovely family run Italian restaurant about 5 years ago. We come from Ajax and Bowmanville to Markham for veal sandwiches, rice balls, pasta with home made sauce, gelato, cappuccino, espresso, pistachio spread and so much more. Ann and Sebastian are friendly, sweet, beautiful and welcoming people. My friends are Italian and they said coming to this restaurant is like coming home for dinner.
You have got to come and experience the fantastic food, the culture and the above and beyond customer service.

Bodira Cafe is a wonderful Cafe. The owners Ann and her husband are so friendly and interactive with their customers.
They have the best riceballs my husband and I have ever had. They are full of meat, peas, sauce and oozing mozzarella. They are fluffy and delicious. We ordered cannoli, they were cream and ricotta filled, very good as well.
I would go back to this Cafe, this was a great find with delicious food.

I came here with my husband and we got there homemade ravioli and sauce along with there arancini and words can’t describe how delicious and fresh everything was. Nothing beats homemade food. They really put love into what they make. We’re so happy we decided to get 2 packs of ravioli instead of 1. Will definitely be coming back for more stuff…thank you ️

We just picked up lunch from Bodira Cafe for the first time. We had (1) hot salami sandwich with cheese and black olive tapenade on the softest bun (2) the largest veal sandwich I’ve seen in a long time - I could only eat half and (3) penne in a rose sauce with mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes— it was sooo good! We also had cannoli with the best ricotta filling - YUM! I would definitely recommend

The canolis here are very tasty! I tried the ricotta canolis - the filling is very creamy and smooth with the right amount of sweetness. The pastry is crunchy and fresh. I ordered 10 canolis which came to about $23 (including tax).

They also have pizza dough for about $3 (including tax). The pizza dough is also very fresh. When baked, it is more crusty/crunchy when following the dough instructions but, I'm sure that can be altered depending on how long you bake it for.

The pasta (I’ve tried all the flavours) is superb. Very creamy and it’s made FRESH. The veal parmesan is also a favourite.

Staff is very friendly and coffee is great. They have halal options but they also serve non halal meat.

Nice quaint cafe tucked away. If you’re local worthwhile to hop in, sit and have a coffee with a plate of food. Nice staff working there too!

Local family owned Cafe that specialized and serves Italian foods from deli and veal sandwiches to homemade tiramisu and canoli! I've been here a few times and a great local find in Markham.
Definitely my go to place since it's much closer and they have indoor seating available for patrons.
They also sell imported Italian food (pasta, sauces, coffee beans, etc.)
Would highly recommend their in house desserts and coffees/ espressos, etc.that are reasonably priced and hey its LOCAL!
As for hot foods I'll definitely need to try this the next time.

Delicious food and amazing customer service! I went here couple of weeks ago with my son and we had some delicious pasta with veal and veal sandwich. Everything was fresh and super tasty 100% recommended

We have been looking for great Italian food in the area for awhile. Finally we found it! Great food, great services. Lasagna gives an authentic homemade feel/taste. The veal sandwich and chicken parmigiana are so delicious, portions are very generous. The tiramisu is to die for. Must try everything on the menu, you won’t be disappointed.

The tiramisu is a must try, and the pastas are delicious. Authentic Italian cuisine for sure. This place is a gem and the owners are very kind. Highly recommend. Looking forward to trying other items next.

Just had an excellent lunch at Bodira with my wife. First time having a meal here. The veal sandwich was very delicious. My wife had the chicken sandwich which was great as well. We also had gelato for dessert. The server was very friendly and interested in our satisfaction. Not sure if it was the owner but overall an great experience.

Chicken parm sandwich was more breading than chicken, and was soggy/not crispy. Bread was too thick and almost stale. Had decent selection of groceries, but expected more for a specialty Italian spot

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with true Italian family hospitality. Imported Italian groceries, a deli counter, and a gelato bar were in eyesight, but we were craving hot sandwiches and arancini. The secret family recipe is all over the cooking because both the hot chicken sandwich and the arancini were nothing short of perfection. We left very full and very satisfied (with gelato in hand of course). Bodira Cafe might just be the best kept secret in Markham, both for the amazing food and for the extremely friendly customer service. So the next time you’re craving Italian food, this is where you need to go.

I really want to love this place, but I had a pretty frustrating experience. I called in asking about their lasagna and the owner said the $20 one is frozen. I said that won't work for me because I wanted to have it for dinner in a couple hours. He said that I can cook it from frozen no problem, it only takes an hour in the oven and then let it sit for 10 minutes. Well, that was not true. You gotta defrost it, or at least cook it for 1.5 hours if it's frozen - I found out the hard way. Normally I wouldn't mind waiting an extra 30 minutes, but we also got chicken parm sandwiches and had to eat them first and then wait for the lasagna to finish. Now here is the part that really rubbed me the wrong way. I ordered chicken parm sandwiches here once before and just asked for the sandwich and it came with cheese and mushrooms and onions, etc. I did the same thing this time, and it came with the veggies but no cheese. I live 2 minutes away so I called and was like, "hey there's no cheese on the sandwich, can I swing by and grab it? " And the lady on the phone said that I have to specify that I want cheese when ordering. Well I didn't specify veggies, but they came with the sandwiches - and I was charged $6 for toppings! I asked if I can just swing by to grab some cheese and she said she can't because the cheese cutting machine is shut down for the day. Like, really? I just spent $50 on dinner and now I gotta eat these sandwiches with no cheese on them? She said she's sorry and she'll make it up to me the next time. Why wait until the next time? She could have just taken a knife and cut a couple slices to fix the issue and it would have saved my dinner that night. I don't think there will be a next time unfortunately. The food is great, but it's the little things that make customers come back.

This was my first time at Bodira Cafe and it was such a pleasant experience. The owner was such a kind hearted individual and the food was AMAZING! We have the penne pasta with rosé sauce and vegetables, arancini and the chicken parm sandwhich. The portion sizes were HUGE! The pasta had some of the best sauce I have ever had in it. While the cannolis were sold out, the owner was kind enough to make four more for us (fresh).

Love this place. They have the best in prepared meals, Italian groceries and how can we forget the amazing desserts! On top of that the owners are a delight and take care of all their customers! Support local small businesses. You won't be disappointed!

We were here earlier today, and I loved it. The service was great and the food was even better I recommend this place 100 percent! Owners were great I recommend the chicken sandwiches and gnocchi as well as the arancini balls they were delicious.

The staff and Owner, Sebastian, provided great service and were lovely to deal with.on top of the fact that the food was delicious! We tried the arancini (Sicilian style), chicken sandwich, veal sandwich, pasta, gelato, and espresso! All yummy! We loved that they're local (saved us a trip to Woodbridge)
and we'll definitely be going back!

WOW! This place was a great find! The owners and so friendly and they make you feel so at home. We needed a charcuterie platter and BOY DID THEY DO A FANTASTIC JOB! I also had their delicious Veal Sandwich & Chicken Sandwich! The prices were very good! We’re definitely going back!

Awesome foods and hospitality. Went there with friends and tried their Penne with Rose Sauce, Veal on a bun, Rice Ball, freshly backed croissant with coffee. The quantity and quality of the foods were excellent. Also, noted, all meats are halal. A nice place worth to visit.

Everything tastes fresh and natural. Authentic Italian lasagna and veal on bun with halal meat. Lattes are also smooth and flavourful

The definition of homemade hospitality. Outstanding food, more than fair prices. Fantastic sandwiches, super fresh bread and delicious cannolis.

Had the veal Parm with peppers, onions and mushrooms and it did not disappoint. The bread was fresh, soft and chewy, the veal, thin and lightly breaded. The best part is the sandwich wasn't over drenched in sauce and the portion you get for the price is a steal!

Also had the cannoli, which was perfect. Light and crispy with a delicately sweet ricotta filling.

I forgot to get the owner's name, but she was warm, welcoming and gave my friend and I free samples of their gelato as we left.

I'll be back to try the rest of the menu for sure! If your in the area or want to take a trip to Markham for some great Italian food, look no further!

This place is simply amazing! Seb and Antonella are so warm and welcoming! The food is outstanding! Their store also has some great Italian goods that are very hard to find in Markham. And don't get me started on the homemade Gelato and granita! We bought enough for lunch and dinner.and will be back very soon!

I had a veal sandwich and it was delicious. So glad to have found a nearby Italian sandwich shop run by such nice people!

This cafe was quite the find!

To paint a picture of the portion size. I tried to loosen the buttons on my jeans while eating my meal only to realize I was already wearing stretchy pants.

The chicken and veal sandwiches were really tasty and a fantastic value for the portion size. We added mushrooms, peppers and onions and it did not disappoint! We had arancini on the side, and finished off with MADE TO ORDER cannolis. (To clarify, everything is made to order!) What a treat!

While I was there, Ann (e?) insisted I sample their gelato and homemade lemonade slush—I was easily upsold as the gelato was divine. I can’t wait to eat it later this evening when I have room in my stomach again. However, I’m regretting not getting the lemonade slush to go. Rookie mistake.

I also picked up a few other items that will have to be saved for another night. Sebastian was so kind in helping me carry out my haul, given that my eyes were bigger than my stomach.

This is a wonderful, family-run business, and the pride and care they take in their food is very noticeable. I’ll be back soon enough!

I checked them out this summer after a recommendation from a friend and I'm so happy I did! We love their gelato. Chocolate and Pistachio are my favourite flavours. Since our first visit there, we've also tried their lasagna, Chicken Sandwich & deli meats and everything has always been fresh and tasty. This summer, they were the only place that had yeast & flour, so thanks to them, I got to try my hand at making bread!
For our Christmas dinner, we preordered cannoli and Rice Balls and they were the perfect addition to our dinner. Our order was ready on time and delicious. The service from Antonella & Seb is always friendly.

We LOVE Bodira Cafe - the people, the food, the products. ALL of it! Everything is always fresh or high quality, the hot food is delicious and always made to order. The owners are so helpful and on many occasions they've shared recipes for new products I wanted to try. And the sauce. Bodira's marinara should be a staple in everyone's pantry. It's the only one we buy now. So happy this great family-owned business is in our area.

Years later we keep on returning. The food is always fresh and made to order. Our family is obsessed with the pasta, lasagna, rice balls, chicken sandwich, cannolis, tiramisu and gelato (I can keep going). They also offer deli meats/cheese and pantry items.

If you've never been here you are definately missing out. Stop by for an espresso and cannoli. You definately won't regret it.

I had the BEST VEAL SANDWICH, CRAZY DELICIOUS, couldn't wait to eat it at home so sat in the car and devoured it, we ended up ordering another one for the road! Fully stuffed sandwich, The arrancini (rice ball) was so amazing, best one I've ever had! Give this place a try, great momma Pappa shop, also met the owners mom and dad such cute lovely people. We ordered a few dishes for a small gathering of family on Sunday. The food was ready on time and everything was delicious. My favourite was the pasta with rose sauce and vegetables. My daughter's favourite was the pasta with pesto. We all loved the cannolis for dessert as well. Can't recommend Bodira Cafe enough.

Tried a veal sandwich from Bodira this evening and have to admit, it was the best veal sandwich I've had anywhere. I normally don't take the time to write reviews, but this sandwich was worth the effort, it was the delicious.

My wife and I tried their gelato last week, and loved it so much we came back again today to try their other stuff. We got the penne with rose sauce, mushroom and sundried tomatoes, veal sandwich, lasagna and a take home jar of their tomato sauce. Penne was awesome, the rose sauce is delicious. Veal sandwich is huge (could definitely feed 2 people) and very good as well. Haven't tried the lasagna or tomato sauce yet but definitely looking forward to both of them!

I tried this cafe for a quick lunch and it was fantastic! Their arancini are crispy on the outside and full of flavour! The owner was also incredibly friendly. I cant wait to come back!

Great small classic italian bakery! Just the way it should be, the sandwiches are great! Also tried some lasagna, it was very good. Highly reccomend to try them out, there are no other places like this in that area.

Just visited here for the first time with my wife. Awesome place! Felt bad I hadn't discovered this bakery sooner, as I had drove by before and not noticed it. Their in-house homemade gelato (ice cream) was awesome and priced better than other Italian bakeries. Their cannolis are out of this world! I'll never buy one at the supermarket ever again. The owners Sebastian and Anna were super friendly and accommodating. There's a good selection of Italian products and cooking ingredients to choose from as well for those that like to prepare things at home. I'll definitely be back to try their hot lunch and a cappuccino!

This is a family owned quaint Italian cafe. The owners are Sebastiano and Antonella they are friendly, helpful and take pride in everything they cook. The specialty coffees are superb! The Italian cannoli are always freshly made and delicious! They have a hot table that serves a great veal and chicken parmigiana sandwich! The pasta dishes are also delicious! I buy my fresh cold cuts, cheeses, and bread here.they are much cheaper then the local grocery store.lots of imported Italian goods to choose from.
Summmer time the Italian gelato is a MUST try! So many flavours to choose from.and the prices are very reasonable.
This place has excellent business hours to accommodate early morning coffee drinkers or holiday last minute shopping!
We love this place.can’t wait to have my favourite ice cream now that summer is fast approaching.

This quaint little spot in Markham is the best kept secret. Their authentic Italian cuisine, specialties and delicacies is a welcome treat. We enjoyed the experience and look forward to our next visit. The owners are friendly and hospitable and they served us with pride. Can't wait to go back for your cannalonis when we return with other family members for dessert.

Fantastic place. If you want fresh cold-cuts and the best prosciutto in the GTA, ensure you stop at Bodira. Just tried the new cannoli with lemon-based filling: too bad I arrived late and they only had two left!

Chicken sandwich extremely dry. Did not taste very good. Not enough sauce. Ice cream was bland also. Like to try new places, but will not come back. The pizza place next door was pretty good though.

This place is a hidden gem. Everything is fresh and homemade. The lasagna, the cannelloni, the panzarotti and everything that we have ever ordered has been delicious.the staff is so friendly and welcoming. My only wish is that they would not so far away from where I lived, as I would frequent it on a daily basis.
I have taken friends there that are Italian, and this place reminds him exactly of the food that they had in Sicily.even the cappuccino and the Little Italian pastries or something that we savor every time we go. This is my definite go to Italian deli restaurant
