If i could give a zero i would. Worst customer service i have ever seen. My friend has called multiple times to schedule a new appointment and they declined her called 3 times in a row. I decided to call them myself to see if they would pick up my call and they picked up the phone and then declined as soon as they heard her voice. This place is a joke.
Worst experience with a family physician that I have ever had. Dr Samina shows up late to the office even when she has appointments booked, she doesn’t listen to specific health concerns, and she rushes through appointments because she is always running very late. When asked about a specific issue she refused to order a simple blood test. We will definitely be changing family doctors!
The office has a sign that staff will not tolerate rude or abusive behavior. Yet, I've witnessed and encountered rude and unprofessional behavior from staff. The front desk never answer the phone, don't follow through with requests, are dismissive to patient concerns, reply with condescending and degrading tone. They hover in a group at their desk, socialize and chat, disregarding patients waiting. Obviously, aren't suitable to work with the public sector with obvious lack of compassion, and certainly don't deserve the privilege of working at a dr's office. Their attire is unprofessional, dirty, wrinkled and some wear beach flipflops. These doctors hire this kind of staff that reflect their image, and practice, failing to outline their expectations of a high standard or representation. Shame on the doctors! I question their judgement. This staff needs to either shape up or ship out. Not to mention the lack of Dr Mahdi's availability, waiting over a month for an appointment, -has two clinics, guess its quantity ($) over quality! Patients deserve better!
If I could rate this place negative stars I would. The ONLY good thing to come out of that office is the pharmacist, he is very kind and caring. But if you are having to deal with legitimately anything else here I would take a look at different options. The women who work at the front desk CONSTANTLY laugh at patients reasons, belittle, gaslight, blame, are rude to elders and people with disabilities and mess up appointments dates/times 24/7 but never take fault for it. The doctors as well say they will do something but you have to call and give about 10 reminders for them to actually do it. If you want to be treated like an actual human being I would go somewhere else.
1-star review for the disappointing level of communication with the receptionist. It is very clear that they did not have much training or education for the position they were hired for, they might be better off working as the janitor for the office. Dr. David was great and helped me get the proper help I needed, I feel bad that he has to do his job and his receptionist work as well.
Don’t use this place. They refuse to refill prescriptions by fax, requiring you to visit a doctor in person. This is highly impractical and sounds like some kind of cash grab way of charging OHIP at your expense.
My husband has been a patient of Dr. Mahdi since he opened his clinic in Brantford. My husband has never encountered a problem with his doctor. Dr. Mahdi has ordered appropriate tests, blood work when necessary. Hes responded quickly to text messages. Especially during covid19. Husband is very pleased with the care he receives at Bonavista.
You can never call the clinic, you have to text them and you’re lucky if you get a reply back. Some of the staff is very nice, some are rude (to the doctors too). There is always a LONG wait even if you have an appointment. Dr. Samina has been SOO amazing and the only reason I’m continuing.
Please do yourself a favour and run as far away from this place as you can! The staff are the most miserable, rude bunch you’ll ever have to deal with! Recently brought my daughter in for a Tetanus booster. They didn’t have it on hand! As per Health Canada and the local Health Unit that’s a mandatory vaccine they should have on hand. Failing to have it could put them subject to some serious fines. Imagine stepping on a nail and running to your “trusted” doctors office to find they are too inept and disorganized, to help you. I can’t imagine anyone actually wanting to go here. I’d rather spend 14 hours in emerg than deal with them!
I have had the best experience here. Dr. Samina has been amazing! Not only to me but my son! Well worth my drive from my home town. The staff has been kind and courteous. I would give them a 1000 % rating if I could!?
Dr. O does not record symptoms or good at ordering proper testing for symptoms. Be prepared to seriously advocate for yourself and ask for tests. He is not informative or knowledgeable and if you are a new patient he doesn’t make getting your old file a priority. Don’t get a pap there, the nurse will hurt you bad and front desk is off for lunch for the whole day if you need to call.
I have been a patient at BonaVista Medical Centre for 5 or 6 years now, after struggling to find the right doctor in an area of the city that I feel comfortable in, that would treat me with respect and compassion. After my initial family doctor retired, I have been blessed with an amazing new doctor, Dr. David.
The worse doctor I have ever dealt with No concern or care for his patient my mother was ill.he never called or let us know her results from lab work she ended up dying of who knows what cause he didn't help is. Don't go to him
To be honest, it is very discouraging to try to make an appt, reception NEVER answers the phone and never call you back. If you go and get blood work done or a scan, god forbid that you have to wait a month or two to get results as you cannot get ahold of anyone to make an appt.
Anyone know of any Doctor's accepting new patients?
The doctors are great. My experience with them has always been positive. They are thorough and do not rush you to finish the appointment. Sadly, the reception has a negative impact on the clinic. There seems to be some aversion to answering phone calls. Be prepared to call multiple times, over the span of several days before you manage to get through. Something to note for patients attempting to make and cancel appointments.
My doctor is great, but unfortunately that's the only good thing about this place. I called eleven times over the span of two days and got through to reception once. They have a $100 missed appointment fee so DO NOT EXPECT to be able to cancel or change appointments over the phone. Anyone living out of town beware.
Edit: aaand my doctor shut his practice down. Waited months for the new doctor. He's a nice guy but I'm not feeling any sort of personal attention here. God I miss the days when family doctors were personable, not overworked, and properly funded.
Excellent services, Dr Ibrahim was so helpful and knowledgeable. Staff and pharmacy were great. Highly recommend this place but book ahead of time to avoid waiting
Very comfortable setting. Immediate attention by receptionist. The Dr there was thorough and was very personable. Conveniently enough there pharmacy is right beside them in the same office.

Amazing place. Staff changes have helped this business become more efficient. Doctors are friendly and there to help. Short wait times. If they are going to be long the staff informs you and you do not have to wait at the clinic. They go out of their way to help. Highly recommend!
When I first called, the receptionist was pleasant and helpful, it all went down hill from there. I arrived for a walk in appointment to have a wart removed from my hand and was told that there was a problem with my health card but I could pay $100 and get reimbursed by OHIP. I found out afterwards that this isn't as easy as they made it seem. I called up OHIP and they told me that they don't reimburse, and I would have to deal directly with the walk in. After follow up calls to Bonavista I was told by a different receptionist that OHIP never/rarely reimburses. I feel like I was lied to and ripped off. I even provided the walk in with my updated health card information within a week of my appointment but they refused to provide any reimbursement or assistance in dealing with OHIP. I was told that the doctor would return my call to come to a resolution, but heard nothing.
During my initial appointment the doctor had a coffee in the room and knocked it over spilling it on the floor. When it came to freezing off the wart, he barely hit the wart area and it has left a mark on my hand which is 4x -5x the size of the actual wart.
I am fairly new to the area and had hoped this may have been an option for a family doctor, but at this point I can't recommend this place. This was by far the most unprofessional doctors office I have been to, and I feel both disrespected and frustrated. I have made attempts to resolve this issue with Bonavista before writing this review, but their lack of empathy is not what you would expect from a doctor's office.
As mentioned by many others, they do not answer the phone. 20 calls and no answer. Haven't tried texting yet. The place is clean and everyone is friendly and we were in and out pretty quick, so it's not all bad.
This is a great clinic! I’ve had nothing but kind staff including the Pharmacist. They take people in order at the walk-in. People may think they aren’t as they will let you sign in and wait elsewhere if you prefer to not sit there and wait in the waiting room. I think this is GREAT that they allow this, but I can see what it may look like if someone who arrived after you is being seen first, even though they actually signed in earlier. I’m not sure what’s with all the bad reviews! Yes the walk-in doesn’t open until 5pm although the clinic opens earlier for regular appts, perhaps the web site could make that clearer, but not a reason to give a 1 star rating imo:)
