Book Bazaar

If you are considering selling your books then this review is for you. We had a very disappointing experience dealing with David at the Book Bazaar. He was extremely gruff and just plain rude in our exchanges. Never once did he say thank you or did he even seem grateful for the books we brought in. Perhaps there are other employees who would be more welcoming than the one we dealt with. Wont be returning.

You could definitely spend a lot of time here. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I went for the first time today and will definitely be back!

Liked the experience checking the stock pile, nice to see they have popular mechanics mags of 1940's and signed books

I always love going here - it is the best used book store in Ottawa. Fabulous and huge selection, I rarely leave without buying 2-3 books! Huge selection of classics, mystery, sci-fi, philosophy, health, etc. They even have sheet music! Wonderful staff who are always pleased to help you but are not intrusive when you just want to browse. A real jewel of a store to Centretown and all of Ottawa! New (ish) ownership has increased the organization of the store, things are much easier to find and browse.

It was our 2nd time being there and the 2nd time we were treated rudely. The woman is a possible witch. Sorry we wanted to spend our money at your store

Variery of quality and rare second hand books. Very impressive selection! The bookseller is cordial and helpful. A bit expensive.

They were impossible to do business with. We booked an appointment for them to come by and look at some art books. 1) They never showed up and 2) they never even called

It’s a cute little store! Sort of overwhelming as there is SO much choice and the books are piled high. However, the guy behind the till was friendly and you’ll be sure to find something

The WOW factor on entering was impressive. The selection is out of this world. This was my first but not last visit. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Pretty crowded with books so if you have a stroller or use a mobility device I would suggest a different store instead but other wise if you are on a walk and enjoy bookstores with that unique old book smell I'd definitely suggest stopping here. Books are organized by genres, like mystery, philosophy, religion, etc. And staff are polite and friendly.

So many options and a nice cozy feel to the store. Helpful staff when looking for specific titles. Great local book store!

Definitely over priced for old and used books, please visit other used books stores. Went for the first time to get a bargain on books and they were selling an old art book for $60 when the price of the actual book brand new was $49.99! When I asked the clerk about this, he said they can price the books at however price they liked and sent me to chapters instead to get it brand new if I wanted too! My jaw dropped! Horrible! Don’t waste your time or money at this place!

Was very much looking forward to browsing until I entered and the storekeeper had his mask dangling off his ear.

I must have walked by this place a hundred times on the way to the bus before I finally went in last year. Nice little shop with an interesting selection.

They have a great selection and you could easily spends hours browsing without realizing it! Also if you love the smell of books, you will like this place from the moment you walk in.

This man is a book dragon, and this store is his horde. And I mean that in the BEST possible way. This place is incredible and you owe it to yourself to visit if you have even a slight interest in books of any kind.

Awesome independent bookstore! Some reviews mention finding things in the store being difficult but I've always found it well organized and with a great selection for that which I am searching. A great store to browse and find great deals on books that you probably won't find at big box stores.

The store itself is great, lots of books, huge selection. I did however find alot of the books were overpriced and I was a little concerned when I inquired about some first edition Stephen Kings and was presented with two books that upon my inspection weren't true first editions but were priced as if they were. That being said, mistakes do happen and I would still recommend based on the depth and selection alone.

A truly amazing spot in Ottawa for bookworms in all shapes and sizes. An amazing collection coupled with really cooperative service by staff.

If you havent been to Book Bazaar you gotta check it out. You can easily spend an entire afternoon there looking through their collection of works. They have so many unique books and 2 warehouses offsite you can pull from too. Great place to get a really meaningful gift for a book lover you know.

If you're a bibliophile and find yourself in Ottawa, do visit this store. You'll thank me. Great selection, lots of unusual finds, first editions, and the kind of eclectic material you won't see very often.

Great place to stop and look around, even if you're not looking for anything in particular. I find the most interesting books. You can easily spend an hour or two in there!

I've been coming to this delightful shop for many years now. I often find what I need here. The collection is alphabetically organized, which makes searches quick and fruitful. I wish the prices were lower, but i am foolish.

No sir, I don't like it. Very questionable sales tactics. Unpleasant people, and largely overpriced anyway.

They didn't have the book I was looking for but the staff which it was only one 20 something year old, really knew his stuff and where all the books that I needed were placed and very friendly!

Horrible place. Very miserable old man attending at the desk. His prices are generally very high, and then when you go to buy some books, he tells you that the prices inside are mistakes, and ups the prices even more. Beware of this place.

A bit on the pricey side - but a really great collection. I never leave a visit to Ottawa without at least one book from the Bazaar.
