Boondocks Pet Resort

A convenient option for us to go sightseeing and have our dog taken care of. We called the local animal hospital and they recommended 2 locations: 1 of which is Boondocks. We reserved 1.5 weeks in advance. They required the usual vaccinations, neuter/spay and rabies documentation and accepted the docs via email. 48 hour cancellation notice. Hours are M-F 7am-7pm and Sa Sun 9am-6pm but they are closed 12N-2pm each day so you cannot pick up during that time. They asked if our dog required a private space or is social. We could not see the playspace and only 1 person is allowed in the lobby area. If we were to use this location on a regular basis, we’d need to see the playspace. But overall, very happy with the doggie daycare.

This place doesn't even deserve stars, I mean such a horrible experience, truly left my dog traumatized. I took my sweet Milo here after hearing great things. I came to pick her up and was only a few mins late and they overcharged me $40 dollars. That is no ethical at all, especially after the condition my dog came back in, she was covered in dirt, and wasn't feeling herself for the next few days. I have no idea what this place has done to my dog, but she has never been the same after that. I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone, if you love your pets please find another place. They are not number #1 Pet care facility in niagara.

I feel the set up is little raw. My pet always smells after coming from the day care. The day care charges are very reasonable.

My dog wasn't eating but after our stay he starting eating again. Not sure how they triggered it but thankful he looked so happy with his stay.

They were able to book my dog in on short notice during peak season for 3 days.
Ask for their kongs ahead of time, or bring your own.

Went in to check out the place as my family plans on going on vacation. The two receptionists were extremely ignorant. My mother was asking questions just to verify what we were informed on the phone and saw on the website and they responded very harshly and spoke down to us. Didn’t even let my dog stay for daycare because I was just astounded by how rude they were to us, let alone how rude they possibly could be to animals behind closed doors. I think the redhead and her brown haired friend with glasses need to take a class in professionalism and mannerisms. I’m just completely in shock, do not recommend.

Edit: Also the fact that they respond with deflection instead accountability to every low rating is alarming. Don’t worry, I wouldn’t even bring a dead rat there to be “taken care of. ”

My dog came home and did not have any behavioral changes after being at boondocks for a three night stay. We travelled from Montreal to Niagara and needed a place to put up the dog. The young girks were nice, but likely not the most knowledgeable. My dog apparently got along well with the staff and other dogs. My only concern was that my dog had a injury on her nose when we picked her up, the explanation was that she was likely rubbing her nose on the fence, but no notes were on her file on how it happened. It was pretty raw after i put some coconut oil on it, but the injury healed normally within 5 days. So my advice to the owners would be to upgrade the fences so the dogs don't injur themselves.

I wish I could give the girls who work here more than 5 stars. Ive been working more than usual and this doggy daycare that my dog has been going to for almost a year now has helped keep my dog happy, healthy and not lacking attention while I work. Very affordable and my dog gets excited to go everytime I bring her. The ladies love her so much and I know my dog is going to a safe place to have fun every time I drop her off. Boondocks is for sure one of a kind, I believe it has alot to do with their caring staff

Cooper had the best time! We definitely recomend for the over night care. They were knowledgeable and so sweet to him. I called a few times worried but they didnt mind. Kept me in the loop. Will be usuing again.

Never again I will bring my dog here! I left my dog for an overnight stay and charged me 2 nights because I picked him up at 3pm the next day. Please double check your agreement, if there is anything mentioning that “if you pick up your dog after 12, you will be charged full day. ”. You have to remember you close at 12 nn and resumes at 2pm. You should always inform your clients about this charging! I even called before I picked him up and you never mentioned that I will be charged another day because I was an hour late. You are taking advantage of the holidays!
Poor customer service! I left 2 packs of food for my dog and asked nicely to feed him. Both ziplock bags of food were still in our bag and never mentioned that the dog didn’t eat them. If you’re professionals as you are claiming, you should have take note of that and inform the dog owners as soon as they pick up their dogs.
I called today to inform them and instead of apologizing to clients and making sure it will never happen again to appease the clients, your lady staff is so arrogant and rude!

Brought my dog Skimpy, a 3 year old golden doodle here for a groom, he came back looking fresh as heck! Not to mention the price was very reasonable and fair. I totally recommend that if you are looking for a well done groom, go to boondocks pet resort for some FIRE hair cuts!

Amazing experience! My dog is very nervous and staff was very friendly towards her, she loves going to play with her friends. Staff always sends me pictures through the day of her if they have time. Grooming was amazing as well my pup hates water and is hard to handle but she always comes back looking better than ever and beyond happy

I have been a customer here for years, and never had an issue until recently. I dropped off my dog a month ago for about a week and when he came home, he was puking everywhere and in pain. He stayed at the vets overnight, they ran some tests and they said he had pancreatitis, it wasn’t super bad but that’s why he was sick.

Fast forward a few weeks later, and my mom dropped him off cause she was going on vacation and I couldn’t take him. We both get a call a few days later saying my dog had been puking all night long in the kennel and wasn’t his normal self. I rushed to pick him up. The vet wasn’t open yet so I took him to my moms where he started showing he was in pain by whining. He then proceeded to try to pop which only bright red blood came out. I immediately rushed him to the vets, they ran blood work and this time they started questioning whether my dog had ate rat poision or mushrooms while at the kennel (yes I told the vet he was at boarding because we didn’t know why he was like this). My dogs blood test came back and it showed his pancreas levels were 900+, which means he had severe pancreatitis. I regret allowing my dog to go the second time after he got it the first time. We’ve never had an issue in the years we’ve gone until now.

We used to love the customer service there, but recently the customer service hasn’t been that great, and I no longer trust them with my dog.

The staff are always so friendly and love my dog dearly. I've always been nervous with my dog with other dogs but he seems to do so well at group play there. The grooming is also great

Friendly and professional staff! I bring my dog Odin here all the time while I’m busy with work and he’s always happy to come back! My 9 mo old kitten gets his nails trimmed here as I can’t do it myself.but the groomer always does a wonderful job:)

Dropped off our dog for one day say while my family and I enjoyed the falls and was a great experience! Friendly staff clean, dog seemed happy.

I dropped my dog off for three nights. Asked them to put ear medicine in here ears. They did not and when I picked her up had to go to a vet. She was filthy and had an infection on her private parts. Staff was not very friendly. If you do not like your job - find something to make you happy

Boondocks has exceeded our expectations. Our dog is an anxious little fellow, with extreme seperation anxiety typical of this breed. But our dog absolutely loves going to daycare at Boondocks. The staff are attentive and patient. He gets to spend lots of time outdoors, playing with furry friends. Staff are mindful to watch and pair dogs who interact well together. The hours are very accommodating and there is a groomer on-site

Was excited to find a local place that grooms cats. After calling and booking an appointment, so I thought as I was asked for the cats name and my info, given and arrival time and estimated pickup time, I arrived to be told there was no time for my cat to be groomed. After some much wasted time going back and forth with the groomer and another worker (who I made the appointment with), it was decided I would leave the cat there to see if there was enough time. I understand that his mats were quite bad and it may take some effort. Was just looking for some relief for my cat. I don't think I was home even 30 minutes when I got a call asking to come pick up my cat as his mats were just too bad for the #10 blade that is used for shaving. When I returned both employees (groomer and other worker) were standing in the office with two dogs and a third worker, though I was told the groomer was booked solid for the day. I was told to try and find a vet to do it. I was pretty disappointed with the customer service that was provided through out all the interactions. As someone who has grown up in the Niagara Region and has driven past boondock's more then I could count, I thought the employees would have shown some pride in the company they worked for as well as a love for animals. The impression I got was that this is "just a job". Pets are an extended part of any family and I thought Boondock understood that.

Needless to say, I did bring my cat to the vets and they shaved him with a #10 blade with no problem.
If they were unable to do it on the day I requested then I should have been offered a different day/time. Not just been told to bring in my cat and then argue with me for 10 minutes telling me that even though the business is open until 7pm the groomer finishes at 2pm no matter what. I guess you have enough customers and do not need or want any new ones.

I was so excited to be going to a local groomer and was telling everyone. Unfortunately I also told the same people what an awful experience I had.
