Great salon! Staff is super friendly and Bill is hilarious (the owner). My hair was quite horrific from my last haircut and Bill listened to what I wanted and put his own spin on it. Chill environment. Definitely will be back.

Amazing hair cut and dye, never leave this salon disappointed!
The only thing that ruined the experience is the young blonde receptionist - she has an absolutely nasty attitude and someone like her should not be working in customer service.

Got my haircut two days ago and I love it! Rebecca was super nice and did exactly what the photo I showed her looks like. All staff are super friendly. I will definitely be back.

Don’t ever come here if you have curly hair that people would say is “ethnic” by Ottawa’s standards. I asked for a curly specialist but was given someone who didn’t know how to cut curly hair at all. To make it worse, while he’s cutting my hair he says “curly girls are crazy, they’re all temper mental about their hair”. He then brushed all of my curls out and cut a huge chunk out before checking with me. When I asked to see the length he told me that I was freaking him out and made me feel bad for wanting to see my own hair. He blunt cut all around my head. He didn’t add water during the process to check what my curls would even look like after. I left with a frizzy poof on my head and cried in the car. It took me 2 years of growing my hair out. If you don’t know how to cut curly hair, don’t say that you can. Educate yourself and don’t make clients feel bad for what type of hair they have. I’d rather you refuse to cut my hair than ruin it.

Amy is absolutely spectacular, she is kind, professional and pays very close attention to detail. Cannot recommend her enough!

Went to see Amy for my curly cut and color and let me tell you she is amazing. Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted at the front and offered a beverage. Amy then sat me down and took my opinions into consideration before doing anything. She checked consistently with me to make sure I was okay and not uncomfortable. When I say she has the magic touch, I mean she has the magic touch. She was patient, provided exceptional service, and she was a pleasant to get to know. She knows her stuff about curly hair and I am so thankful I met her. Rebecca also helped with the color, wash and style of my hair and I promise these ladies have such a gentle touch! I went in to see Rajaa for ash blonde highlights and I will definitely be back to see her! I am so happy with how my hair looks. She has the trick for long blonde hair! She’s very meticulous, which I love! I knew i was in good hands! The salon is also gorgeous and I am already looking forward to my next appointment!

I have really thick and curly hair and always had trouble finding a salon that could both handle it while also being down to earth and casual — this place is perfect for both! I was matched with Amy for my first appointment, and she was amazing! I saw Rajaa yesterday for my blonde highlights and cut and was so thrilled. I was nervous trying somewhere new and Rajaa immediately made me feel at ease.
The staff were so warm & welcoming upon arrival as well. Would definitely recommend

I have been coming to Boss Arts for a decade now and it's always been top notch. It has a great environment and awesome customer service, and I always enjoy my visits.

Recently, my usual stylist went on maternity leave so I was seen by Amy, a curly hair specialist. Amy went above and beyond and made the whole experience so great! She asked me a ton of questions which, if you have curly hair, you know is important. She took into account my product preferences and how much time I like to spend on my hair (I'm a wash and go girl) and gave me a cut that works perfectly with my lifestyle. She also told me about some new techniques to help get the desired shape and volume I wanted and got me to try out a new style that I absolutely love. She listened to all my concerns and offered solutions and recommendations (with links!) for products and even things like hair clips to help comfortably hold my super thick and heavy hair.

Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely be returning to see Amy again. Thanks for the great service!

Been going here for a few years now ever since a Google search told me they do curly cuts. I've had my hair cut by Jessica and Alix and both were amazing. They really listen to what the client wants but aren't afraid to offer suggestions. And they set realistic expectations regarding color application. I have never been happier with my haircuts since going to BossArts.

Alix has done highlights for me and now red hair, fantastic consultation and service. She is a treasure and makes you feel like an old friend even when you're a new customer.

Even the girls who wash the hair and style the curls are attentive to water temperature, what products you like, etc. Great attention to client comfort.

Came for the wavy haircut with Tara and stayed for some bonus nails! Maryna & Olena went above and beyond to ensure my friend and I had meticulously designed nails and pedicures, just in time for Valentines. The whole spa is such a joy and I can’t wait to come back. There’s even a salon dog to keep you company if you’re missing your home pooch (see: my dog Boss, who could also use a manicure).

Today I got the BEST haircut from Amy! She took such care to get to know me and my hair type, constantly checked in with how things were going, and overall just gave me exactly what I wanted.
I also got my brows tinted by Codie and she was sooo sweet and did such a lovely job.

I’m so happy to have found this spot and will definitely be coming back.

Went here for hair colour. From the moment I walked in, in staff were friendly and professional. Their coffee was delicious. Tatiana did hair colour for me, taking her time during the consult to find out exactly what I was looking for. I was very happy with the outcome and will definitely be back.

I would normally gush about how great Boss Arts Salon is. I have been going here for well over 10 years. I am not a demanding customer and always left with a great colour and cut until today. I went in to have a few highlights, a toner and a trim. However, the stylist misjudged the colour mixing and used a different toner.the result.my highlights turned out pink on my hair. Yes, PINK. Needless to say I was mortified, and tears were shed. She tried to "fix" it by using BLEACH to strip out as much of the pink as she could. There are still pink sections visible. As well I also have 2 very bleached sections on either side of my face. My hair colour is absolutely ruined. I am shocked with what this stylist did. I did receive apologies and a discount, (I should not have had to pay for the stylist 's mistakes) however, my trust is now broken. I used to love going here but now. If the owner wants to talk with me regarding this, I’d be happy to do so and share photos and other details. My contact info is available through your client list

I’m so happy with the hair cut and style I got by Tara today! Whenever going to a new salon I get nervous that my hair won’t turn out how I want. But Tara knew exactly what she was doing and has given me probably my best hair cut yet! Everyone in the salon was so friendly, the atmosphere was so welcoming and I can’t wait for my next appointment!

I've been going to Alix for a curly creative cut for the past several years. My hair changed dramatically during the pandemic (as it grew out, the curl completely changed, and I decided to keep it long). She was great with styling shorter curly hair and is great now that it's longer. The staff and salon environment is always incredibly welcoming, too!

Amazing customer service is what keeps me coming back here, followed by great products. I have been using their spa and hair services for years and no where else in Ottawa compares. I love how accommodating they are and they are willing to tweak services to fit customer's needs.

The haircut and style I got here with Alix is by far the most satisfied I have ever been getting my hair done! I came for a curly cut and consultation, which I've never done before. I'd been feeling for awhile that many stylists do not have a great understanding of how to work with curly hair specifically, so I was looking for some real expertise. All this to say I found it! Alix was lovely to chat with, really understood my hair and took the time to teach me how to work with it. I left feeling empowered and like my hair was finally doing what I've wanted it to do for a long time. I will absolutely be back!

Got the Curly Creative Cut with Andreja and loved it! I chopped off my own hair during the pandemic and she helped give my curls life and bounce! Taught me a lot about styling them too! Very friendly staff. I didn't have to wait at all, they manage their time very well, and it's obvious they love what they do.

They didn't push any products or services on me, and they answered all my questions. Will definitely be back!

Ive been going to Andreja for coming up on 10 years - she's the best. Cuts, colour - she's excellent. The salon ambiance is nice, though they've stopped serving tea/coffee/wine due to the pandemic. A great spot!

So my bad for not really having a good photo of my makeup for this post, but I had my makeup done here for my city hall wedding and I felt amazing. Cassidy did an incredible job. I didn’t give her much to go with and she gave me such amazing contour to my chubby cheeks that I felt like a new person. She was also incredibly patient with me and getting those false lashes to stay because I kept crying.
So thank you for being a part of such an important day in my life and helping me feel beautiful.

You usually have to book your appointment about 1 week in advance through their website. The service is very good and the stylists are very friendly.

Hair expert George Raposo moved to BossArts. And that's great because he is an artist. I had a great cut from him today (again) and I love the Aveda products. I've had other hairdressers, but George knows his materials, understands composition, colour, line and style- and he is happy to work with you, and always professional.

So the first time I got my hair done and it turned out to be too blonde but after I was able to come back to add in some low lights and omg it turned out amazing! I’m so happy that I could have my hair done for my anniversary. Alix is absolutely the best, she’s so talented and kind. Definitely recommend coming here 101%!

All I can say is Georges, Georges, Georges! He is an amazing artist and did an incredible job on my hair. I am transitioning to grey and am very nervous about it. When Georges and I spoke about it he had a wonderful vision for my hair. His knowledge and confidence put me right at ease and it was obvious he is a seasoned professional.really though he is an artist. He blended my grey with intricate multi toned highlights and did an incredible cut, shaping it beautifully. I couldn't be happier with my hair. I know he took extra time to make it just right. In fact we closed down the shop! Thank you Georges. You are simply wonderful.

George is an artist! Great vibe here! They offer you a beverage while you wait and pamper you throughout.

Great atmosphere at the front. The back of the salon sort of feels like you are not as special as those up front who are in a larger more conventional space. In the back you are placed at a bar like structure which is shared by several people. Very pricey, which I probably wouldn't have minded paying if I got the "front of salon" treatment and not the bar. Also wasn't a fan of having one of the junior stylists attempt a braid and leave hair sticking up everywhere out of place, a large tail of hair at the end of the braid sricking out awkwardly as well. I had to redo my hair after I left. Again, wouldn't have minded so much except you are charged a lot for the attempt/practice this junior staff did with my hair. I wasn't asked if I wanted a junior or senior stylist. Perhaps because none of the senior stylists were available. I felt like I was drastically over charged for my experience and end result. I would hope this would have be a better overall experience with a senior stylist.

My esthetician, Hayley, is amazing! I've been going to her for a while and I'm so happy she exists. She is very friendly and makes you feel so comfortable and well taken care of. I moved away from Ottawa for a bit and one of the reasons I was happy to be back is because I could go see her again.

I treated my mom and I to a facial while she was visiting me in Ottawa. I decided to book here as I had been to BossArts for a haircut before and loved it. Honestly, best facial I've ever had! It was so relaxing and I felt so nice after. Thetis was amazing. She was warm, friendly and professional. She truly added to the experience with her friendliness and knowledge. I will definitely have to come back and book with Thetis. My mom had Hayley and equally vouched for her too!

I made my appointment and rescheduled it (due to work) all through email, which is super convenient for someone that's always on the go. They were speedy, efficient and friendly with their replies. The salon itself was very clean, and everyone was nice! I got my hair done by Veronica, who was very super friendly! The color turned out great, and she cut it exactly how I asked. The price was fair for the services I got. I will definitely be back soon!

I've been going to Alix for a few years now for my Curly Creative and Maintain cuts and she recently did my wedding hair. I always walk out of the salon with exactly the hair I wanted, and I'm so grateful to her for giving me cuts that work well with my natural texture.

The salon itself is a really great environment and I brought my family members there for pre-wedding hair and nails.

Travelled from Toronto for an event. The customer service was excellent. They even called me in advance of my appointment to remind me of the Santa clause parade and make suggestions for parking. Georges completed my wash and style and did a great job! He even took the time to help me with some issues I was having from the cold with my scalp. I will definitely be returning.

I've been going to BossArts for more than four years now. Crystal takes care of all may hair related works (cut, color, highlight, styling, etc.). She's always so positive and the results are always amazing. This place might be a bit over priced but its worth the experience.

I've been going to Krystal for over a year and I can't imagine going anywhere else! She's always been honest and gives great advice about what can and can't be done with my hair and what would look good. Not just that, every experience I've had with other staff there has always been amazing. I can honestly say my appointments are the highlight of my day and sometimes week!

Jessica did a fantastic job! I came in with medium length hair (3C) and requested a very specific pixie cut that would work with military regulations. THE RESULT WAS FLAWLESS.
Also: the salon was very clean and all the staff was very professional. 10/10 would recommend.

I recently had a curly creative cut with Jessica and I highly do not recommend seeing her. I had to go back four times and still did not get the cut, or colour, that I was looking for.
After having been repeatedly ignored about the style I was looking for, I had to have her repeat back to me what it was I was looking for. Even though she was able to communicate what I wanted, she still did not give me the balayage I was looking for, and proceeded to blame it on my iron deficiency. I find that really interesting as the shade of blonde was right, just not the style. On top of that, she was very condescending towards my hair care routine and told me not to go blonde because I'm "clearly not up to the maintenance. "
My first experience at this salon, with a different stylist, was the best experience I've ever had with my hair which is why I'm giving them four stars. However, at the end of the fourth visit Jessica discouraged me from coming back.

This is my actual review, lost my connection last time. Kim does my curly hair looks and feels great after. The only problem is parking but that comes with a downtown location.

I've been going to BossArts Salon for just over a year now. My stylist, Jessica, is amazing. She listens to what I want, makes helpful suggestions and always does a fantastic job. My hair hasn't looked this good in years!
The front desk staff are super friendly and are really helpful. They offer you a beverage as soon as you arrive.
They carry a great range of Aveda products and are very knowledgeable about it, but they don't push it on you or pressure you to buy it.
The have a spa on site as well but I haven't used it yet.
They also have snack packs of Brookfield chocolates at the back for you to enjoy when you're getting colour applied.
Parking is a bit of an issue but they're close to the public lot at city hall and the bus is close by.

Update - went in today to fix the mess written below. Wasn’t happy at first because it felt I was being swept in and out with no consideration of the bad hair cut I had and assuming I can deal with it and have time to come in later to deal with it. Also was given a free toner to fix the brassy issues. I was sitting in the chair getting my hair dried and broke down in tears. The owner came over and listen to my complaint and took a look at my hair. He took it upon himself to make sure I walk about with something better and more manageable. My hair looks a tad better but again just got it done - still brassy.and multiple shades of blonde.very grateful for the hair cut service he gave me as it is more manageable but A lot of growing to do and health to get back to my usual hair before I came in to get it back to a more natural blond and the length I lost. I will be looking for another salon. Was under the impression I would get refunded as well but that was not the case. So I just called back to again tell them that colour isn’t working and looks trashy. I don’t have the time to come in every few days to get it fixed nor do I trust anyone in that salon. Very emotional frustrating experience.

I’ve been looking for a salon that works with curls after my stylist moved. I came across bossart and booked with Jess. I showed her how I like my curls to fall and how I liked the volume. I asked her not to cut anything less then a few inches because I know my hair and how I style it and what it does. I paid for the expensive version of the curly cut and she only spend like 20m cutting it and I HATE IT. The way she styled it when I left looked ok but when I went to do my thing with it.the way I like it.my hair looks like a balloon or mushroom. There are sections of my hair that are less then 3 inches long. Worse hair cut ever. Highlights are ok even tho the toner to take the brass out of the un highlighted hair is gone and left with multiple shades of blonde and still a fairly noticeable ombré I was trying to get rid of.especially after explaining I needed a more natural look for work. I can’t believe I spend this much money and look like I do. Sadly I was dealing with a death in the family and was totally in a daze at my appointment.
