I ate a Greek and chicken salad salad from the bfr earlier today. It is now midnight and I still cannot stop thinking about how tasty it was so I figured I'd better write a review.

Friendly service, definitely home cooked food with flavor. Great choice for breakfast. Best potatoes and bacon I’ve ever had. My soft poached eggs were a little harder than I would have preferred but that was a minor inconvenience.

Went for breakfast, had a nice meal here. Waitress was very friendly, classic family diner vibes here. I'd go back for sure.

Went for Mother's Day brunch. Wonderful service, great Eggs Benedict Florentine.
We were a group of 15, everyone enjoyed them selves. I would dine here again.

Showed up with 8 people for breakfast, they were able to seat us and take our orders really fast. Breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly.

I went here for breakfast and the description of the eggs Benedict does not read on the menu that it has peameal bacon. There is no description at all. It just says "Eggs Benedict with home fries". I would just suggest for the future to put a description of what the benedict has on it. Especially for vegans or people with dietary restrictions. Some restaurants add meat, some do not. I am vegan/muslim and I don't eat meat. It is part of my religious belief and the waitress looked very disappointed when I told her my issue with the meat and like it was a hassle to take it back. I told her I would pay for the meal and order another one without peameal bacon. I was super nice about it. I even tipped her well for the inconvenience. The english muffin was hard as a rock, the home fries were cold and my friend's pancakes were not very good. I would go here again, but clarify if the meals have meat in them. The atmosphere is nice and the tea and coffee were good. I just felt a very annoyed vibe.

Pretty upsetting that they are going with the discrimination side of this.sad they are helping with creating a split society.

Delicious lunch and great service in a diner like atmosphere. Big portions. We had a club style sandwich and breakfast and it was very yummy! Amazing service and super friendly.

I worked at this restaurant for nearly 8 months and experienced verbal abuse and discrimination due to my limited mobility and was terminated for refusing to do double shifts despite bringing in a doctor's note. The head waitress doesn't wear her mask half the time risking infecting us at work with covid19. I wouldn't recommend anyone eating here or working here. It is a toxic abusive environment.

Based on all of the reviews I decided to check this place out. I ordered the bacon burger and fries. I can't attest to any of the other food, but man was it bland AF! The patty was dry, the fries were dry and had a strange taste, the gravy was "ok", but didn't salvage the meal. Love supporting local because most of the time you find hidden gems. This isn't one of those.

Only been here once but it was with a large group and it was perfect. Food came very fast. Tasted awesome and the servers were minty!

Delicious breakfast! Had a Greek omelette and smoked salmon eggs Benedict. Both were great and delivered fast!

I get to eat here a lot since I work in the area. I got to say their service is always fantastic and they keep the spot clean at all times. Pricing is fair and they serve sizeable portions.

LOVE THIS PLACE! This has been one of our favorite spots if not the favourite spot ever since my husband and I moved to Bowmanville a year ago. It feels like home! The staff are super friendly helpful. The food has never disappointed us! The portions are great and worth the money. Absolutely in love with this little gem of a restaurant!

This spot is my preferred one. I go to plenty of restaurants but to this place I go the most. The stuff is very warm and the food they offer is so yummy. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent dinner here. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Love the breakfast. The Bowmanville Family Restaurant has been around for a very long time and it's easy to see why.

Very friendly. The place is very well kept, clean and tidy. Service quick and the food was hot and tasty. This is a hidden gem.

We came in with 4 kids. Ordered appies. Our one appie was cold. The garlic toast had cold garlic spread in it. Mushroom caps were cold. The California burger was served on a hot dog bun and hambergur was over cooked Asked for salad with the burger or fries. My fish was amazing but my fries were over cooked and hard. Kids meals were good. There was a promotion goin on for 40 percent off a meal. No one told us and they didn't tell us about soup or specials. The server was amazing friendly. Not worth 90.00 to eat there.

I've visited here twice for breakfast. Fast, friendly service. Delicious food and a nice atmosphere. Portion size is quite good too!

Food wasnt the greatest, our water pitcher had old food or something stuff to the bottom edge, just made me wonder if and when it was last cleaned. Wont be going back

Just a good old fashioned community restaurant. Good food and fair prices with table service and pleasant staff. Not an easy find these days.

Decor stuck in the Greek 70's but service is fast and friendly! Even better the food is always great!

Overpriced breakfast. They used leftover hot dog buns for French toast. So many other better quality breakfast places in Bowmanville

What a disappointment! We decided to try this place on Nov24th2019 because of the reviews well here it goes.
I got Eggs Benedict with Potatoes, the potatoes were just warm kinda hard inside, of coarse I was expecting nicely fried potatoes. The eggs were dry isn't Benny suppose to be runny?
My hubby got the hamburger and fries, I actually asked my husband if it was cooked it looked that gross! And his fries were raw not one cooked and not one fries was even crispy. The portions were to laugh at also
And the bill was mortifiying 45.00+.
What ever you do don't go here it's expensive and the quality ia awful!
But the waitresses were really good that why they got a 1star from us.

It's been good every time we've gone for 20+ yrs. Nice servings, nice service. Good selection of food choices. Was there today again very good.

Amazing find today my wife and I just by luck found this hidden treasure. The locals know how good it is we had great conversation with a few of them. The food and service was five star. I would recommend this great restaurant

Great place to eat whether breakfast lunch or dinner. We tend to go there for breakfast when we are in Bowmanville. Food is always tasty and prices always reasonable and if you have a big appetite you will be pleasantly surprised.

Always fast service and such a nice small place the staff recognize you after a few visits. Food is good and well priced.

My brothers and I were out for a motorcycle ride. We desided to stop by for breakfast. Our meals were excellent as well as the staff.

Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Good portions. The decor is a it outdated but I dont personally care.the food was good.

Stopped by on our way through to Ajax. Service wasn’t bad but the food was questionable. It LOOKED amazing, however, tasted the opposite. Cold potatoes, bland hollandaise sauce. Coffee tasted cold, waitress was running around like crazy.efficient, but not a relaxing atmosphere at all. Probably won’t be back, or recommend. Not a great value for the price you pay.

5 stars if i graded restaurants solely on their cutlery. Each set at our table were perfectly balanced and weighted, and not a bent tine between them. The spoon was a thing of beauty, perfect in everyway, the best qualities from every spoon. I have had poor cutlery ruin meals, this time i had the meal ruin the cutlery. I really wanted to like this place and look beyond it's short comings. Half my plate was cold, some interesting choices like the green onions in the home fries, but then serving them cold. Eggs were great! And the meat selections were nice, but both were closer to room temperture than not. When describing canadian maple syrup on the menu, expect Olde Style Lynch foods corn syrup. The hollandaise was bland and more bland, bordering on tasteless. While i appreciate in a restaurant here it has to be powdered or store bought, please look at alternatives. There was some weird infighting between the staff. Throw in the cost of the meal which i could have overlooked if it was better, and this was the worst breakfast out I've had in years. This may have just been a perfect storm where everything went wrong, i hope that was case. You get 2 stars for trying and having awesome cutlery.
