Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic

Bowmanville veterinary clinic was the only vet clinic willing to see my Exhibition Chickens. For that they will always be highly regarded by me. But! On top of that they also provide excellent care for my rabbits. Amazing atmosphere (love the turtle pond) and always accommodating by accepting my email transfer when I forgot my card last time. Seriously fair prices and wonderful staff.

We brought or French bulldog dozer in for a nail injury and his visit turned scary due to his breathing. The team saved his life when he was in distress and had to put him on a breathing machine. The teams quick response and training saved our little guy. The team is extremely professional,
Knowledgeable and quick to respond to any emergency they may face. It is because of the staff here that dozers life was saved and we got to take him home. Thank you to the staff for all u did to ensure dozer was stable and could come home. We appreciate all ur efforts. Highly recommend this vet for all your furry friends needs. God bless u all

I was there a few days ago with harley who had gotten attacked by a stray dog everybody at the vet was very very nice and kind and understanding they were great and I appreciate all the help and I feel I owe them my life because my dog is my life. I can’t thank you guys enough for everything you’ve done I will definitely be recommending you to other people in need thank you guys again so very much from the bottom of my heart I have no family of all passed away and my dog is the only thing I have in my world. So hats off thank u soo soo much im very humble

We took our beloved dog Maggie here who sadly had be euthanized after 16 wonderful years of love, laughter and joy. EVERYBODY there is so over the top caring, compassionate and kind. Words cannot express the gratitude my husband and I feel towards these people. If that wasn't enough, they sent us flowers the next day in memory of our dear little fur baby. Thank you Bowmanville Vet Clinic from the bottom of our hearts.

Cat was bleeding excessively from mouth, called courtice clinic, they didn’t care, thought let’s call bowmanville, same didn’t care, said sorry taking appointments for later. Called Peterborough, they took us in right away, our pet passed away that night, but atleast Peterborough cared. Shame on all of you.

Great staff. They are ALL professionals. Have treated, and are currently active in the "senior" needs of our 15 year old dog and 14+ year old cat.
Thank you for keeping our 4 legged family members healthy.
Will see you soon with a kitten that needed a home and we have "adopted". Shots and spaying will be booked very soon.

A couple weeks ago, I had to put my 14 1/2 year old cockapoo, Charlie down unexpectedly. This was the hardest thing I have ever done, but everyone, from the staff answering my frantic phone call, to Charlie's amazing vet, Brigitte, made the whole experience, as peaceful and dignified as possible. I can't say enough about this wonderful team. Right from Charlie's 1st visit as a puppy, the staff have always treated him like he was part of their family. Thank you so much for all your kindness, and compassion. It will never be forgotten!

I went straight to them when my baby started vomitting profusely and behaving like maybe there was some thing stuck somewhere. Called here 1st because my daughter has always gotten stellar care. The first thing I am told after telling them what was happening was "oh.well we close in half an hour so. ". I asked where else i could take the animal was directed to call 2 numbers neither of which answered. A call back to Bowmanville and being told I had been given the right number resulted in someone begrudgingly looking up the numbers again and realizing that mysteriously the clinic she referred me to had changed it's phone number
This whole experience has been a giant let down and I can say with certainty that I will find somewhere else to take my pets if this is the way they handle an emergency.disappointing, truly disappointing, I have never gotten the sense that they don't care until today when it was expressed loud and clear

I have found the clinic staff to be professional, knowledgeable and caring towards my dog. They must be doing something right because he doesn’t even mind going there! I would recommend them to any pet owner.

I was referred to this vet office from a friend when I had just picked up my 8 week old pup, the first day I took her in for her vaccination shots everyone from the front desk staff to the vet techs to the doctors themselves are absolutely incredible and very well knowledgeable, Dr. Brigitte and Dr. Kim were both very helpful and awesome with making my visits easy and perfect to meeting my puppies every demand while also giving me a lot of good tips and tricks. Would highly recommend them as the entire staff there is amazing.

Misdiagnosed my bunny. Money grabbers, had no idea what they were doing. He died shortly afterward.

This clinic is fantastic. I had not had my dog there prior to an allergic reaction from bee stings. They fit her in and took great care of her. They called a couple days later to check on her. Their prices are great too. Highly recommend

So happy I found this place! Great experience and my Westie loved them and that tells me all I need to know. Dogs have a sixth sense, I have brought my dog to other vets and she was terrified. The staff here were so gentle, kind and patient with her she came out with her tail wagging:)

If you’re anything like my wife and I, you love your pets dearly and would do just about anything to keep them healthy. And, unless you have a one that can tell you where it hurts, you’re 100% reliant on the skills and expertise of your Veterinarian to figure it out. After our first visit to Bowmanville Veterinary Hospital with Dr. Josh Tollman, we knew our furry friends were in good hands. His sincere passion to care for animals of all kinds is instantly recognizable. Thankfully, his gentle nature is also backed by a wealth of knowledge and experience that he drew upon to help two of our small pets out of dire situations. One of these took real out-of-the-box thinking, and we were initially in disbelief at how effective his solution was (Beanz sends her thanks Dr. Josh!). Vouching from my 35+ years with pets and vet visits, I can say without hesitation that Dr. Josh is nothing short of stellar. You don’t draw and retain that kind of talent unless the whole practice is solid; our experiences to date have all been very positive.

I recently had my two kitties in for shots and bloodwork and was very impressed with how efficient and professional the staff there handled my pets. The little one is usually a handful but not for the techs and Doctors at this clinic. Through the administration staff I was able to order my food for them too, a fabulous selection that caters to all your pets needs. I highly recommend this clinic for anyone looking to have their pets needs taken care of, professionally and with the utmost efficiency and care!

Great service. Love that they see reptiles! They demonstrate they truly care for your pet by following up a couple days later on the progress with the medication given.

Everyone there is always very friendly and informative. They are patient when I have questions or concerns and usually call me a few days after a visit to check up and see whether things have improved. Also very affordable compared to other local clinics.

They have knowledgeable, friendly staff who go above and beyond for their clients. My experiences have always been nothing but top notch. The compassion I see when they are treating my pets or helping me work through tough decisions is remarkable. My guinea pig was handled with such care even though she was a wiggly girl. I feel they love my cats almost as much as I do. I highly recommend the Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic!

Dr McCleary and his staff are great. They are thorough and have taken great care of our cat Roo. We feel confident with Roo in their care. They’ve also made curbside visits very easy. They come out to the car to pick up and return Roo and Dr. McClearly came out to explain what his diagnosis was and how to administer her medicine. Their email correspondence is always very responsive and helpful too.

I made an appointment for my salamander but it died before I got home from work the day of. I cancelled crying. They were so sympathetic and sent me a sympathy card!

Very compassionate and kind, treated my special fur baby with love, patience and understanding they explained everything to me and provided comfort when I had to put my cat down. Dr. Josh was great, I am very happy that I chose Bowmanville Veterinary for my cat in a difficult time. Highly recommended. My family also goes here, which I did not know, so we overall really like it here. ️

Fantastic staff and doctors. Brought my guinea pig in for an emergency, we ended up having to put him down but I was extremely impressed with everyone working here. Thank you so much

Terrible first experience. Do not bring your reptiles here. We brought our lizard, a blue tongue skink, in to be prescribed something to help with his serious case of mites. We called ahead of time and were assured they could help him out but we would have to bring him in and could not just purchase the treatment for the mites (this made me concerned with how sanitary it would be to bring a reptile with mites crawling all over but im not the professional, so we do it). Our lizard was seen by the vet who was very friendly but also very uneducated on mite treatment evidentally. We were instantly told she wouldnt be able to prescribe any sort of treatment because apparently skinks are too sensitive to regular treatments she would give lizards witb mites. She left the room numerous times to do research on the matter, only to recommend me restricted pesticides, that if were even animal safe, are no longer available in Canada. I had told the vet I searched high and low for the mentioned product after reading about people that had to deal with similar cases just days before, and could not find any stores or websites that sell it here, to which she seemed to not believe me and left the room again for another period of time to check herself. The vets results being the same as mine, It cannot be bought in Canada. We are told theres nothing further they can do and she would need to research some other methods and would get in contact with us. The next day we receive an email offering the method of ANOTHER restricted pesticide dust which once again is not available to ship to Canada so thank you for the useless information. In conclusion, we were told we could be helped just to receive absolutely no help or useful advice and were still charged charged nearly $140 for their "services". I strongly reccommend just choosing a different vet for your exotic animals.

Took care of us when we needed it the most! So happy to have found your clinic. The Receptionists are fantastic, the Vet Techs are wonderful and Dr. Rudolph was amazing, helpful and you could tell she really cares about your pet, no matter what the size. We can't thank you all enough for helping with our skinny pigs!

Caring staff, sick senior dog, explained they were only able to do one ultraspund because he was getting stressed. Told us what he would need, and how to give it to him. Here's hoping he improves

I dont take my pets here but its close and so I come and my cats diabetic food. They accommodate me and they dint have to!

I used to bring my cat here. There was an awesome veterinarian named Michelle that worked here that showed my elderly cat and I so much kindness and empathy and tried her best to do what she could when my cat was in a bad state. I had to come in again that same week for my cat and another person I dealt with told me that My cat would have to undergo a very expensive surgery. I had no money at all at the time, I was a college student and I felt helpless that I couldn't help my best friend. The veterinarian scoffed and rolled her eyes at me when I told her I couldn't afford it after spending so much on blood tests and x rays and ultrasounds, she responded with "the best thing you can do then is put him down". I'm so glad I didn't because I took him somewhere else and it's been years and he's still here. Please don't make people feel this way when they're trying their best and coming to you to save a life of a loved one. I guess it really depends on which Dr.you get.

Bowmanville veterinary clinic is so well diversed with their animals and they care so much about everyone.

Amazing place to go, i had to put my gerbil down and they made a bad situation not so awful because i felt comfortable

I took my kitty here for a general check up and an ear check up because he was walking funny. Nothing ended up being wrong (thank God) but the staff and doctor were very friendly and sweet and so gentle with my kitty! They were genuinely nice and the doctor was very competent and friendly.

Kind, very caring & amazing staff! Dr. Korver was so wonderful with us through a very difficult week.

Everyone here is always extremely kind and understanding and dealing with them is so easy. My cat recently went in for some dental work and the vet called me multiple times to update me on what was going on, keeping me in the loop on the condition of my kitty. There are numerous other vet clinics in the area, but I won't bring my pets anywhere else.

They took care of the 2 wild birds we found and let us help triage them to rehab. Awesome caring!

They are very caring, friendly, kind, helpful and compassionate. Cannot express enough words. Have been taking my fur babies there since 1994 until 2017, when we lost our last kitty Monte. Have moved to Brighton and have not found a vet clinic that comes close to them and probably never will. Thank you for the excellent care of all my animals. Have missed you and will see you next month.

Prescribed antibiotics for my bird, seemed to make her symptoms worse. Ended up dying shortly after finishing her antibiotics

I wish everyone who works at a veterinary clinic could come here to see how it should be done. Freindly, professional, compassionate. One stop shop for all kinds of animals, including our lizard. Wonderful staff and just the cutest red eared sliders (turtles) in the waiting room.

They were so helpful and nice when my bunny was sick. I would recommend for anyone to go here! (Especially if you have a a smaller pet like a bunny as not all veterinary clinics specialize in "pocket pets".) Will be going here again in the future!

I took my 8 lb dog here, our first visit was amazing loved the doctor I was excited that I found a place I could trust with my dog. He was out on a diet, they said come in every couple of weeks to weigh him in, the said he could even get his nails trimmed for free. After purchasing a bunch of diet food we went home happy. A few weeks later I went in for a weigh in. My dog had a nail that was catching on the carpets so i thought two birds.they took him in back for the trim, when he came out literally 2 mins later the girl said his nails looked good took very little off only a couple of them. I went to leave and was shocked when I was told the trim would cost me over $40! I pay almost that much for a full groom at my house. I was so blown away, it completely ruined the place for me. It's hard to trust your baby with a place that 1) charges a unbelievable amount for a nail trim. A service they say is free with visit. (When I questioned that I was told only when he visits the vet, not their other services like weigh in's something that would have been good info to have before). 2) I would think that if he didnt need a full nail trim just a quick fix on a couple of nails, for a customer spending $$$$ on food I would have just waved the fee.
I was going to use them for dental cleaning but I am now left with a bad taste from this experience. So disappointing. So beware ask the price before you allow anything to be done to your pet.

Best vet clinic in the galaxy. Four of the most brilliant veterinarians I have ever dealt with. My dog loves going there and feels like a celebrity every time he walks through the door. If you want the best care in Ontario, this is the place to go. I even took a guinea pig there for surgery and he was home really quick and recovered perfectly. (Those who have GP's know they are terrible with general anesthetic and it takes an excellent veterinarian to pull it off!)

My sister lives in Oshawa and we still bring all of our pets to the Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic because of the great service and the knowledge that are pets will be taken care of to a high degree of their Veterinary Services

I can not explain the emotion we have gone through the last 24 hours. As anyone reading this knows animals are family, when they hurt we hurt. We needed to find a vet for our hawk. Not easy. It’s hard enough finding one for a parrot, let alone a hawk. Dr. Rudolf and staff were all amazing. Not once did my husband or I worry that we were in the right place or that they did not know what they were talking about. They all went above and beyond. Making sure all our questions were answered, and then telling us to call if we thought of more. Thank you for being there when we needed you and finding time to fit us in.

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. They have helped me take such good care of my 16y young dog. Thanks to their care still has a very full and active life.

The best place to take reptiles/furry pets, they are very informative and answer all your questions. I highly recommend if you need a vet. You get rest results extremely quick. They are friendly even when you call with different questions almost every day.
