Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library

Nice library but I'm not sure who decided to design it as an echo chamber. Don't go there if you are prone to headaches when the kids aren't in school.

I look forward to going to the Bradford library, I have never done so much reading until I got a library card. They have a wonderful selection of books, nearly every book I want to read is at the library. I got my card about 3 months ago and I have since read 15 books. My 2 kids also love coming here, they have a great children’s section. I wish I had gotten a library card when I first moved here!

A nice two storey library with many books and other media to borrow. There's even laptops that can be borrowed.
The library has sections and nooks where you can sit quietly and read. Study rooms available for reservations for extra quiet reading.
What's nice here is that there's also an outside area close to the washroom with tables and a power outlet for laptops and larger noisier groups.

Lots of parking. Next to the recreation center.

The library staff are there for you! ! They help me with photocopies and have a lot of patience with you. I think the staff should get a bonus and a raise for their great attitude! Thank you very much!

I love this library. It's well organized, has great Covid protocols, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They've brought in copies of any and all books I've requested, and they always have the new movies on BluRay for rent. I also love their book sales, once they start up again post-Covid. Plus, now their hours have been extended. Awesome job BWG library!

Very well managed, amazing place to spend time for silent studying and kids activities. Lots of Adults, teens and kids selection. I think i very much like this place.

Clean, and quiet. What a library should be like. Wonderful staff and excellent choice in books. An incredible service that should never go under-utilized.

Beautiful library and fantastic collection of books, comics, movies etc. Also hosts workshops for various hobby groups.

This is a library for stay at home mothers and their toddlers. There are crying babies all day. There is no where quiet to study or get work done, even the rooms that you book can only be booked for 4 hrs. This public library does not cater to students needing to study. The second floor is the "quiet" floor but the librarians often talk and don't address others being loud when they are walking around. The noise from the first floor also travels up. I wear noise cancelling headphones and you still get a lot of noise.

Essentially a library in name only, this building functions more like a community centre hangout/daycare, with noise levels rivalling those of a Manhattan subway station.

A word of warning to those expecting a quiet, considerate study area: around 11: 30 am every weekday, the library magically transforms into a high school cafeteria. Ta-da! If you can withstand the droves of squawking teenagers occupying every study table and the fleshy boardwalks made up of adolescent legs obstructing every aisle and walk path, then you are a buddhist monk and have achieved satori. Congratulations!

In a vain attempt to be all things to all people, this library has sacrificed its greatest (and increasingly threatened) virtue -that of the quiet, reflective space -making BWG Library, for all intents and purposes, a larger, more cluttered Starbucks (minus the overpriced stimulants). Just start blasting indie top 40 through the speakers and get it over with already.

The only thing remotely pleasant about this location is the staff, whom over the years have been tremendously helpful and friendly, and are the reason I am leaving a generous two-star rating.

Its extremely hard to study with the kids playing below or teenagers talking after school. If you need it to be quiet to study, like me, this library is not for you

Friendly staff. Clean environment. I used their study spaces while in College, and now my son enjoys their kids section and all that it has to offer. Keep it up!

The Bradford library is a beautiful building full of great books and helpful staff. There are multiple event spaces that can be rented out and plenty of parking. Gorgeous new, modern and clean building!

Great library with friendly staff. Lots of programs available for the community. I love bringing my 9 month old here to look at books, take part in the programs and play with the toys.

There seems to be many complaints on here about it being "too loud" because of the kids. I think its wonderful that they let kids be themselves and not have to keep the volume down. There are 2 floors, the top floor is the quiet floor. Go do you work there. Bring some headphones. I have worked on projects in the library and not been distracted by the noise.

One staff was non stop staring at me, as I was eating my food. IT MADE ME ANNOYED SO I WALKED AWAY BUT SHE FOUND ME.

Library atmosphere is great other than it consistently being loud. If you go during the day when kids are at school you can get work done but once school finished the kids come to "hang out" at the library. Very loud and disturbing for people that want to get work done. Either there should be an area for the kids to hang out or it should be monitored well.

A beautiful library but loud people. There needs to be some place the kids can go to make noise if they feel the need to. But a comfortable study area without loud, excessive talking should be enforced at all costs. That's part of the whole point of having a library in the first place right?

There is even an area in the front where people can talk, but now at 7: 30 on Wednesday it is empty.while people are chatting on their phones in the stacks. What gives?

This is a great place to study. The staff is really friendly and they help to maintain a moderately quiet environment

Lovely big, bright, clean space but unfortunately a constant struggle to maintain a quiet work/study space, even in the allegedly designated quiet upper level. Groups of people (usually teens) visit the library to eat their lunch, hang out, socialize and basically just "be" teenagers. Shouting, swearing, music, basketballs, porn - you name it. The loudest library ever. Extremely frustrating/difficult to get quiet work or study accomplished.
Bradford clearly continues to lack safe and appropriate spaces for teens to gather and freely express themselves.
