Brae Ridge Farm & Sanctuary

My family had the most incredible time at the farm, where we enjoyed a day filled with unforgettable moments with llamas and a variety of other animals. From the moment I stepped onto the farm, I was greeted by the warm hospitality of the host, whose kindness and patience truly enhanced the overall experience.

Just a completely magical experience. I don't normally get too excited about animals, petting zoos or stuff of that nature, but I LOVED this. Penny's passion really comes through and you get to know all of the animals so personally. And alpacas are just the gentlest softest cleanest animals, so it's impossible to not enjoy yourself.

You get to meet and feed not just alpacas, but also two horses and two ducks. I learned so much about both the animals and the farming business. Absolute blast, would recommend it to anyone.

This was easily the best time I had in a very long time. We took a girls trip from Toronto to do the Alpaca farm tour. It was worth the drive and every Penny! ;D

Penny (the owner) tends to her farm with passion. Her excitement and love for the animals truly made this a special experience. We spent a long time getting to know each animal. By the time we left, I felt like I knew all the animals.

I cannot wait to go back in summer to see them again! I highly recommend it to everyone- kids and adults! So fun!

This was a Mother's Day present for my mom - we had such a great time meeting the alpacas, ducks, and horses! The tour was very educational and fun - and Penny was an excellent host. 100% recommend.

We had 2 hours of magic among the alpacas, horses and with Willow the pot-belied pig. Feeding the ducks was awesome too! Penny is so knowledgeable and kind and patient answering all our questions. One of the best experiences ever!

It was magical experience! We went as a group of 5, three adults and two little toddlers and it was a fantastic experience for all. The intimate private nature of it meant you get the one on one tour treatment and really get to experience time with the lovely animals on the farm. I had a great time learning about Alpacas! While for my toddler everything was new and just magical. Penny was a lovely guide. She is great with the kids. Once more, the farm is very well kept, the animals are clean.

I also committed a social faux paux and was very late due to circumstances out of my control. The Toronto Traffic was particularly bad that day. Despite all of that the host was gracious and forgiving. That being said do not be late yourselves. But definitely go on the website and book your tour now!

What a wonderful experience my daughter and I had at Brae Ridge Farm. We got introduced to all the alpacas individually and given information on their personality traits and relationships. It was like being welcomed into a beautiful family. We got to pet and snuggle with them and to hand feed them - they are so gentle when feeding. We were also introduced to the runner ducks, pot-bellied pig and horses on the farm. It was the most relaxing experience I've had in a long time. We came away refreshed and rejuvenated. I highly recommend a visit here to everyone.

We had so much fun with all the animals. They are great with kids (mine are 6,5 & 18 months). We will definitely be going back in the summer.

We had a very enjoyable visit with Penny and her animals. Willow the mini pig was a pleasant surprise, and the alpacas were a delight! There are beautifully hand-crafted items in the studio as well. Thank you Penny for giving us a great start to spring!

Our family came here for a birthday adventure for our 2 year old grandsons birthday. The kids loved the interaction with the animals on the farm. They were able to feed the Alpacas, horses, ducks and pig. We learned how the Alpaca wool was spun and then made into beautiful soft articles. Great morning. Thx Penny

We had a great time at Brae Ridge farm. The facilities are beautiful and clean, and it is clear that each animal receives amazing care. Penny kindly answered all of our questions throughout the tour and is very knowledgeable about Alpacas. It is clear that she loves what she does. Thank you for having us.

This was our first time going to a farm with our baby girl who’s 14 months old. Penny greeted us right away at the barn with a friendly and warm welcome! We saw the alpacas right away, who were so fluffy and cute. Our baby was obsessed and so were we! Penny shared lots of details about the upbringing of alpacas, horses, ducks, and so on. We got to feed the alpacas, who are so friendly! We also got to feed the horses and ducks. My husband and I will definitely be making more trips to Brae Ridge Farm with our daughter this summer. Best experience ever!

Our family had a wonderful time meeting the alpacas. It was so much fun to feed them and observe them interacting with each other and the other animals in the barn (the horses and an adorable rescue pig named Willow). Penny was a fantastic host, providing a lot of information about alpacas and answering all our questions. It was a great experience, one that we would truly recommend.

This tour was super informative and fun! We learned a lot from Penny about alpacas and had plenty of opportunity to feed and take pictures with the animals on the sanctuary without feeling rushed and, most importantly, while ensuring the animals were comfortable with us doing so. We had a blast and highly recommend this tour.

Just an amazing experience. Organized a wellness session for my trainees.and gave them an opportunity to get of their bubble and comfort zones. Penny was both a great guide and an inspirational story in her self.all my gratitude!

Our family of four visited the farm and sanctuary mid-November and it was amazing to see and feel how wonderfully soft the alpacas are. Each one of them have their own personalities which is fun to see. The tour was very informative, interesting and hands on. I would highly recommend this tour for people of all ages, if I could give it 10 stars I would.

We had such an amazing experience at the farm, getting to know and meet these beautiful, smart, social and caring animals. Was so fun and informative, we came away with such a new found love and appreciation for these magnificent creatures.

The farm visit we also got to meet the ducks and the horses and learn about how the alpaca fiber is collected and spun into wool. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone we know, was the perfect place to bring our visitors (young and old) visiting from the UK.

We initially found this place on Tiktok and booked a farm tour which included feeding/petting the alpacas, indian runner ducks and horses and it was an amazing experience! Penny was a great host and clearly has a passion for the animals under her care. She was also very knowledgable about alpacas so we learned a lot during our visit. Did the tour at Brae Ridge yesterday as a birthday present for my 3 year old niece. 5 adults and the birthday girl. If I could give this 10 stars I would. It was so well organized and the owner Penny was incredibly lovely and knowledgeable and accomodating. The alpacas and ducks and horses are clearly very well cared for and we loved hearing the stories behind each of them. Highly, highly recommend for a family outing or for something special.

Absolutely beautiful farm with gorgeous well cared for animals. You can see and feel the love that was put into this farm and we will definitely be going back with our kids again! Absolutely amazing and well worth it!

A fantastic experience all around. Informative, relaxed, and tons of fun. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone, we have a young child who was initially very shy but got the time and the space he needed to warm right up to the gorgeous alpacas.

My family had an amazing visit to Brae Ridge Farm that was beyond our expectations. We got an unbelievable experience and extremely fun moments dealing with alpacas, horses and ducks. Penny, the owner, is very kind, open and welcoming person. She told us and showed many interesting facts about alpacas and their life. The most exciting thing for kids was feeding animals from the hand, and water them. Alpacas love taking shower. Another moment was feeding the horse and get a kiss in return. Oh, that was so lovely. Penny also showed us the whole process of making threads from alpacas fur and the knitted items are so warm and feel so nice. And our kids participated in all the activities and were so happy. Thank you, thank you Penny. We will definitely come back. So many positive impressions.

Would definitely recommend visiting Brae Ridge Farm. The owner really loves the animals and takes great care of them. You will definitely learn lots and have a great time!

What a wonderful experience getting to meet the Alpacas! Not only that we were able to feed the Indian runner ducks and horses as well. Penny was absolutely amazing guiding us through the tour and giving us wonderful facts about the Alpaca's. I would defiantly go back and recommend it to everyone!

Despite the blistering wind and snow, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Everyone loved it, and Penny was amazing with our kids. She was patient and supportive, even got my 2 year old who was scared crazy at the start to start feeding the alpacas. 100% will return and encourage others to experience this as well.

We visited Brae Ridge for a private tour on March 14 to kick off March break! We arrived 15 mins early and waited in our car. The Alpacas inquisitively stared at us as we drove down the path. My kids were so excited at that point already. Penny greeted us and didn't mind that we were early and started the tour right away. It was so great to get one-on-one time with her. She was so very patient with all my kids' questions and she engaged with them the entire time. She introduced us to all of the female Alpacas first. Each one had a distinct personality. We learned how to feed them hay and grain. Were they EVER hungry! We also learned about their unique physical attributes. There were so many interesting facts. We then met the male Alpacas, the Ducks and the 2 gorgeous Horses (one of which who freely gives kisses!) The tour ended with a stop at Penny's workshop where she processes the sheared Alpaca fiber. It is so obvious that Penny does this out of pure love for the animals. We drove away with true joy in our hearts, feeling uplifted and happy. When we looked at the time, we realized we had spent 2 hours there! My kids can't stop talking about the Alpacas today - especially the friendliest one of all - Acacia!

Penny and the farm were amazing! The Alpacas were so cute and friendly. You could really tell that Penny has a passion for what she is doing. All of the knowledge and information was so interesting. The horses were adorable. Getting kisses from a horse was the highlight of my day! Can’t forget about the ducks! They were cute as well.

Loved loved loved our time. Penny was so incredibly welcoming and generous of her time with us. And the interaction with the alpacas for kids (age 7 & 10) as well as the adults was delightful. One of the best family adventures we've done in a long time. Go and enjoy without any hesitation.

If you are an animal lover or have one at home this is perfect place to visit. You can book private tour here to be up and close with alpacas and feed them. They are also two horses and ducks here. All animals are super gentle and so the host Penny. She is amazing and gave us such amazing and informative tour around her farm. Highly recommended. Must visit place for people around GTA

Penny, our host, gave us a very warm welcome especially appreciated since our tour was on a cold day! We had a wonderful visit with the aplacas, horses and geese, getting to feed them and learn all about them as well as visit the workshop. There were smiles all around. Excellent experience!
