Brampton Library - Chinguacousy Branch

Temporary library I heard. Out of 10 times I was here, I never had to share a table so I had the entire table to myself to study/do work. There's limited plugs, as the plugs in the tables do not have power. There is free wifi but if you have VPN, you have to turn that off in order to connect to Wifi.

There's a quiet room with 5 tables or so and a lot of plugs in that room. Sometimes college kids are noisy though.

There's also weekly activities, good for little kids like story telling and Lego buildin.

I would bring your own device, e.g. Laptop. They have computers. I seen 1 guy loose all his work because computer logged him out.

Lots of parking. Staff are friendly.

It is located in beautiful park, Chinguacousy park.

It’s clean and quite. But not enough space if you want to study don’t come to this library, it’s 2 floors and the first floor is dedicated to books and a children area. The old one was 100% was better

Always a nice place to read and learn.
A suggestion if I may suggest - could the Kids section be secluded or be in a different floor so that kids can enjoy without any hesitation that they're disturbing others.

The worst library ever. It looks like a part or a cafeteria where couples are talking. On the other hand someone is talking on phone loudly for his work. Idk whether it is this library or the common sense of Brampton residents in general. But I came here to study and couldn't study at all. The worst possible atmosphere for a library

This location can’t be a library, everyone talk too loud on the phone and leave kids playing here like sports ground.crying kids, loud environment.
Parents have no care of other people those come to library for quiet space.

Library staff don’t even care whats going on,
They are just talking to each other.
They have program rooms where kids come combine tables and talk loud about tiktok this and that all nonsense.
I saw other review and found that library staff is saying that there is quiet space on first floor.
There is no quiet space as I go up and down many times in day to find a quiet space.
Where ever you sit kids comes and start playing their games and start shouting.
Parents are talking loud on phone.
Staff is just talking to each other and not telling people to keep silence.

I will report this library to highest level authorities, they need security guards in Library to tell people and their own staff members to behave.

It’s a great place but their closing announcements just irritâtes me … they keep announcing that the library is closing once it’s 20 mins left in closing time.

I go to this library often and they have a huge collection of novels and cds. There’s a lot of space to study and computers to use. They don’t have every textbook you need for school which is disappointing. I believe they should have all necessary books for school. The textbooks are usually expensive so not everyone can pay for it.

I bet, you are going to love reading here. The place is very well suited for study, research and work. The library also has good collection for kids. Registration is free for Ontario residents

Great place for newcomer. You get free WiFi and computer time to do any work you want, with few exceptions. It's a heaven for newcomers as it gives access to free Books and DVD's. Books can be rented for 21 days and dvds for 7 days, which can be extended under certain circumstances. It's a nice spacious place.
They also help in procuring books from other partner libraries if it's not present with them. It's present in Bramlea city centre which has lots of places for shopping within that plaza including Tim Hortons. Library has its own canteen too. Printing can happen at 20 cents but only for black and white pages, which is fine.

This is a huge library. Here one gets to read books in different languages ​​of different religions. Computers are also installed. CDs etc.are also available here or the parking is very big. There is good atmosphere. You come here to take knolag from all over the world and get happiness wherever you would love to come. Good location, near bremlia city center, near bus stop, good very good

Effective July 3rd, 2022 all Brampton libraries are closed on Sundays! Very well maintained and peaceful branch. Friendly, polite staff and a huge selection of books. Nice public place for your quick study or reading session. They also have computers and also you can get your prints. They charge 20cents per page for black&white prints.

Good Library. Accessible to all resources such as books, DVDs, and computer/Internet resources.

I went to the library after more than 2 years to print out some documents.
I was struggling with printing and I was approached by one of the staff. She was very helpful, respectful and was very patient guiding me on what to do. It was a very good and pleasant experience. I learned later on her name is Michelle.

Overall, i observed other staff are also dedicated in helping out other clients.

Very nice place. It is one of the favourite spots for my kids. People who are working in this branch are very nice. They always welcoming with smile. Really love the place. Love the place so much. Very easy to return and borrow the books. I like Tamil books. Very spacious place.

- LIMITED VARIETY OF BOOKS NOW; I have been going to Chinguacousy Library for over 30 years. The renovation caused it to be more spacious and bright; However, 4 Corners now have a better variety of books. I walk to Chinguacousy but I have to drive to 4 Corners to look at the variety of books to choose.
Please Chinguocousy - Have a variety of Fiction - Old; You have a few contemporary but the old Fiction were so much better.
Have a wider range of Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Law, Civil Law, Office Politics and Office Politricks; Negotiattions, Academic Writing, Communication at a higher lever. This library needs A VARIETY OF BOOKS THAT ARE MISSING.

You have the space so use it. Otherwise, I love the building, the look, the brightness, the staff have always been nice to me - can't complain there BUT PLEASE - Invest in Higher Level Books!

New covid setup was organized, felt safe. Order books through online app and pickup in branch. Very polite and helpful staff!

Making Library Card is very simple and easy. It takes only few minutes to become its members. Staff will also help to issuing any book available

There were 3 librarians and they were talking and laughing continuously. A good librarian would whisper and not talk much. But those ladies had no etiquette; their voice was so loud. Who hired them?

Just to move near Bramalea and went to this library for the first time, its huge and very good collection, staff is very friendly as well

Great modern facility. Like many libraries, the staff are great and super helpful. My favourite location.

Clean, modern space. Great lightning. Nice and wonderful staff also. I’m not a Brampton resident and I was able to enjoy their facilities as needed. I didn’t need to borrow books as you’ll need a library card for that. The library wasn’t packed as well.
All in all it was a great experience

The only good thing about this library is the sizing as you can go around to find some sort of quiet space rather than being on one small floor. I don’t appreciate how the staff just talk amongst each other and are always laughing very loud when I’m trying to study. When you ask them a question interrupting their gossip they have attitude and aren’t friendly. For this reason I guess, they never tell others to be quiet when they’re being loud as well. It’s annoying bc everybody knows the library is a quiet space but when the staff doesn’t even oblige then obviously no one else will. I also don’t like how no snacks are allowed but they make acceptions for few. I was eating carrots one time and was told to put it away but another time I came this girl was eating subway? Could use more quiet rooms and staff who understand the need for quiet.

Went there to print few documents; wasn’t sure what to do.the Lady at Reception name Marina was observing each and every person with big smile on her face.she helped me through out the process. Very kind lady with beautiful Smile. Great Service

Friendly staff, never had an issue. I love bringing my kids here. Better use if their time than staying at home watching tv.

This library is disappointing. They have a fairly large space, but don't make good use of it. The bookshelves are placed in an inefficient way, and there is not enough seating. The selection of books is also very disappointing; it's mainly (like 80%) contemporary fiction with some romance and mystery. They only have a very small handful of classics, and even fewer books of science fiction and fantasy. Even their nonfiction is sadly lacking; I looked through the history, languages and craft shelves, and the selection was woefully limited in all of those sections. So if you're not into contemporary fiction or romance, there's really nothing here to read, and that's very sad. The kids section may be better (I would hope), and they do have a 3D printer and an audio recording studio, but I'm unimpressed with a library that has basically just one type of book. A public library should be better than that.

I always feel like they are inefficient because there are always 4-5 staff members at the counter just hanging out not working.
It's nice after the renovation, but they keep reducing the number of parking spaces. They cut the parking spaces by half when they built that bus station. Now they dedicated 3/4 of the remaining parking for staff. This is perhaps why there are very few patrons but always extra staffs. I don't get it. Who is the library for?

I recently became member of this library and the process was quite smooth and straight forward. I loved ambience and this is going to be my go to place!

Seating here can be limited even with 2 floors. It's nice though, pretty modern, big open space but if you want to do computer work comfortably your best bet is to bring your own laptop.

Too loud, crowded, lack of power plugs for computers, but very convienient for me since its by the bus station, the mall, the cafe inside its a bit overprice. Upstairs theres a 1hr computer no need to use your library card. Bathroom are fairly clean.

The place looks really cool after the renovation but I don't really find myself studying here anymore tbh
they took out the study rooms and the only rooms that seem okay for studying are usually occupied with programs
so like if there's gonna be a better arrangement for some peace and quiet here hmu
