Buyer Be Aware All Home Hardware Are NOT the Same
I went to the Home Hardware at 10 King George, Brantford to pick up me free can of paint as I had completed the purchase of 6 cans and the 7th was free.
I walked in with the last can of paint that I bought so that they can match the same colour.
Was initially attended to by a lady who was pleasant. I gave her my cards with the stamps that qualifies the free can.
She went on to get the paint. Another female stepped in and assisted her with the mixing while the stamped cards were visibly placed on the table.
When it was time to get the paint the second lady said that although I had bought 5 paint cans from their store, because I bought the 6th can from another Home Hardware in Brantford, she could not honour the free can. Her words “why should I give you a free can, when you only bought 5 cans from me and the 6th one from another Home Hardware in Brantford”.
She than got upset with me and explicitly became rude when I declined to purchase the paint. She was clearly a supervisor, manager or owner because I doubt an employee would so blatantly humiliate a customer in front of their colleague.
As a customer who has been going to this store for the last 20 years, I walked away humiliated & shocked and speechless.
Until that point, in the 5 times I was at this same store or the 6th time at the other store not once did anyone state that the paint should be bought at the same store to qualify for the free can.
I was under the impression I was buying my paint from Home Hardware. I was not aware that the stores were so divided that the franchisee would decline an offer that is at every Home Hardware.
As a business owner who could clearly see that I bought the 5 cans from you, and only one can from another store in Brantford, would you not value your customer and honour the promotion.

Are all the Brantford Home Hardware stores so individualized, that you can not mix and match and buy from the them the same way, Home Depot, LOWES, RONA does with its customers.

It’s a good store, but I would recommend opening earlier on Sunday. 10 am open is pretty crazy, came at 930 and seen probably 10 people check the doors and leave.

Got a key cut.they are quick and efficient.the cashiers are friendly.the person waiting on us for keys was disinterested in us being there almost seemed like we were a nuisance to come in but he may have had an off day or just did not want to be there it was the weekend after all.

Great service, I recommend this location for all your needs, the staff have great product knowledge and will go out of there way to help you. They treat you as family and this starts from the top (owner) and it works it’s way down to rest of the staff. My latest purchase was a Pit Boss Smoker/BBQ and the help I got was awesome! 5 THUMBS UP for the GREAT service!

Slightly above average for the brand. The staff here are better than most home hardware stores which is why they get a better rating.

This has to be the best hearts wear store ever. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Sometimes apart might be a dollar more expensive but trust me the advice you get is i completely worth it.these guys know their stuff

What's to say? Home Hardware businesses are historically one of the best "local institutions" in their surrounding areas and this one is no different. Friendly staff and a cute store. Retail cooperatives can be a welcome change of pace from larger corporate competition if you ask me.

This store has lots of small nicks nacks for your home. Great service and very knowledgeable.

Because they are on private property they do not need to honor exemptions tonight me as a double vaxxed person who was OK with wearing a mask had they provided some by the front door like every other store does. Had my disabled husband discriminated against due to him not being able to wear one.according to the AODA accessibility for ontarians with disabilities act yes you have the right to ask us to leave but you should have offered accomedation for the disabled customer you were serving.like bringing the items out to the car or asking me if I wanted a mask so I could pay for the items while my husband sat in the car. I don't think that's unreasonable. The attendant who asked us about the mask wasn't overly rude or anything I know he's just doing his job but some sort of of accommodation could be made the employees should have to take their AODA training again. We did end up going elsewhere very disappointing.side note I will be reporting the fact they did not offer accomedation so they can better train their employees in the future.

Amazing staff! Very well stocked! They have great sales. Besides the usual hardware part, they have everything from sheets and slippers to kitchen gadgets and holiday gifts! I love this store!

Love this black label 800 Louisiana grill, onwer was great spent like an hour with me discussing all the pros and cons and was so much help, I used it so much in the first 2 weeks I went thru a 40 lbs bad of pellets lol

One thing I have always found is that the folks at Home Hardware are genuinely nice and honestly helpful. It may not be flashy Or have a vast selection but the employees keep me going back.

I picked white marble stones but there were not enough quantity. I placed an order, which took some time. However, they called me as soon as my order was ready for pickup. Very nice staff.

Visited store June 17th, looking for 4 items, talked to 3 sales staff, the experience was not pleasant, they were curt, unhelpful and rude.example- looking for furnace filter had part # and size (missing thickness).
Told by sales guy in area go to the back! When i explained i could not reach the filters, and presented the details, he said part # means nothing to him
in other words go home get more details, the attitude was direct and uninterested.

I also question enforcing mask mandates outside for curbside pickup, way to overboard, I wont be back

I wasn't even a customer. I was eating ice cream in my vehicle and saw how amazing Dylan and the team were handling curbside pickup! Dylan was quick and curious with everyone he interacted with and service was very quick. I called the store manager on duty to tell him how great everything was looking. They were all very thankful. Be kind to retail workers always and especially during these ever changing times.
My family will be shopping at this Home Hardware from now on!

Appreciate the quick and efficient service but I really question the mask outside for curb side pickup. We’ve been told by our medical experts that outdoor transmission is extremely rare and masks have not been mandated outdoors. Did I bring a mask? No. Did I wear it when provided? No. For the simple fact that we were outside so I didn’t think to bring one and because the employee had to touch a mask to give me one.where’s the logic? The employee couldn’t hand me my goods if I didn’t wear a mask but HANDED ME A MASK. Think about that for a second and the pointless, illogical pressure you’re putting on staff to enforce a rule that goes above and beyond our government health unit advice. Little petty things like this make me want to avoid businesses. It’s unnecessary and illogical. Home Depot it is. Never had to wear one for curbside pickup there.

The lady who takes paint orders lacks basic communication skills. Not everyone you deal with is a contractor. Order dropped and picked from Lowe's.

My favorite hardware store by far! Excellent customer service everytime. During the pandemic I have chosen to shop here for many home improvement items for our many projects. I choose to support local Canadian owned companies when ever possible and this business is easy to support because their staff is always so polite and helpful.

Went there looking for road salt. They had 10 and 20 kg bags. I didn't realize they had the 20 kg bags which the cashier brought to my attention which was cheaper than the 2,10 kg bags I was going to buy which saved me some money. My thanks to him. Good staff nice store. I will be back

I found this grocery store through a friend, and glad I checked it out. They've got a Variety of products at great prices, meat dilley, sandwich, hot menus salad bar, and a grocery sessions for things you may need at home. So check it out.

Staff is so polight and courteous and knowledgeable friendly. They will take you there instead of telling you where to go.

This place has a lot of selection. Prices are not very competitive unless the item is on sale. Much of the hardware items can be purchased cheaper elsewhere.

The decor items are nice. The staff is always there when you need them and quite helpful. Can't really beat their customer service.

Great store for hardware needs! Large & spacious with products neatly organized for easy shopping.
I especially love taking a peek at their knick knack section. There's items ranging from home decor to gift ideas and trinkets to beautifully scented Lampe Berger products!

Bought a steam cleaner, $150. Missing brass, cleaning attachments. I've heard people buy the product, steal the attachments, then return the product for a FULL refund! MF's

Love coming to home hardware as it's close for us but the employees within the building go over and beyond to help the customers very friendly

Great store, always a very freindly and knowlegable staff eager to help. Store is well stocked and also very clean. All the stock and items in store are always neat and tidy; by this i mean that at every corner of the store and in between all thier mechandise is presentable and not all full of dust.
Interesting side note, the owner of this store often has many items not normaly found in a hardware store. Sometimes even offering scratch and dent sales on items that you would have to look hard to find the defect.
I like this store.

Great store, great staff and well maintained. I recommend this store.

Excellent selection and customer service is above and beyond. Parker is especially helpful. If they don't have what you need they can get it for you. Excellent customer service is what sets this place apart from the bigger box stores.

Every time I leave the Brantford Home Hardware I comment on how helpful everyone is! They go above and beyond helping their customers. Amazing staff!

Home hardware is not like other building supply stores in that they don't have all the same stock as say, Home Depot or Lowe's. No lumber yard or garden centers here.

I had two keys made & purchased some driveway salt. The keys were cut quickly and work great. The salt was loaded into my van by a member of store staff. This store is well staffed with helpful, knowledgeable & pleasant people.

They have a purified water system there and you can fill up your 18l containers very cheaply there. They are also very helpful there
