Bread & Salt Afghan Cuisine

After order online for pickup, I was lied to by the staff saying my meal would be ready in 3min. I waited about 25min and was given a soda for the wait but the food wasn't worth it. It was cold and flavorless. I won't ever be back here. It's not worth the time and money. McDonald's would have been a better option.

Amazing restaurant. Being a vegetarian they have quite some options and its tasty. Love the servers as well.

Food was amazing.
Service was good too the servers visited and checked on us multiple times.
Atmosphere was amazing as they have the place decorated very well.

I recently dined at Salt and Bread Afghan Cuisine, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The food was not only delicious but also showcased the authentic flavors of Afghan cuisine. Afghan restaurant in Mississauga, we order the chicken tandoori wrap to go. Chicken was missing the kick in my opinion it was dry and lack flavours. But the wrap was stuffed with veggies and it was little spicy.

Ambiance of the restaurant is very modern and service was fast for take out order.

We would come back to try another dishes and see how it is

The food is decent but the quantity is very limited. Even the rice portion was surprisingly very small when at other Afghan restaurants they are always very generous with their portions.
A special mention to their ambience. It’s very pleasing.

Pros:
Quick service. Fresh, clean and healthy food. Clean washroom and good atmosphere.
Cons:
Needs more authentic Afghan flavours. Food is westernized. Please provide serving spoons.

First time trying Afghan food and I am very impressed. The food was delicious and I really enjoyed the difference in style of the naan and chicken compared to other middle eastern food. I really enjoyed the dumplings & mango smoothie. Only thing is the chicken wings were lacklustre but overall great and will visit again!

Our server was a very gracious young lady. I ordered the #2 grill, chicken Tikka and chicken seekh with rice and salad. It was delicious. The rice was aromatic and an a
excellent accompaniment to the chicken. The serving was very generous, we brought half of our lunch home. The best Naan I have enjoyed. Fresh, hot, and crispy, soft on the inside. Thank you for an excellent meal.

Delicious food, great place, amazing service, the server Razan was so helpful and always smiling, made us feel so comfortable, will definitely come again.

Decoration and interior design is very nice, other than that this place is not recommended. You would find way better quality food at bamyan kabob or watan kabob.

The chicken wings and lamb were stinky and have a gross tase.and the rice was served cold.

Chicken tender for kids was very dry and notl breaded and comes spicy

Bathroom has no soap.

Over all the place is not wort it also its pricy.

We couldn't wait to leave this place. Never here again

So today I ordered the red chicken for the first time in my life and let me tell you I was skeptic because like I said never eat this kind of chicken before, but listen this chicken was the truth. I loved it and I will be ordering this again, plus the bread. My new favorite restaurant next to Nandos!

Happen across this gem as I was looking a place to eat, while waiting for an appt. Live in Kingston where there are copious excellent dinning spots. I wish this place was there. It was phenomenal. Staff were exceptionally pleasant and the prices were reasonable. Took some home for my wife to try and she lived it as well. Will definitely come back

All Afgani food places are decent however a restaurant that stands out is due to its employees. It was an amazing experience ordering food from this place. The moment we stepped in the dine in was closed but take out was available.
Sangam - greeted us in. It was exceptional customer service skills. Since dine in was closed we decide to leave however Sangam asked us to try the food.
Trust me the food was cooked so well. Sangam made sure all 4 orders were made to our choice. Food taste was too class. We had to eat in car but soon we plan to dine in. Kababs, chicken, rice, naan, garlic sauce was fresh and taste top class.
I highly recommend the place for food and employees like Sangam. Who make the experience a memorable one.

Such a great place with amazing food to dine-in and for take out. Cozy dining space and very friendly and helpful staff. Diverse options of the delicious Afghani cuisine including vegetarian options as well. One of the best restaurants in Mississauga to eat in or to get food home.

The food was delectable. We had the appetizer share platter Eggplant Borani Mantu Dumplings, Wings, Bolani and it was delicious. For our main we had the Lamb Shank, which was as satisfying to our taste buds as the other cuisine. We finished our meal with the Firnee Pudding which we enjoyed greatly.

Very delicious food, best Afghani food in the GTA, went there last weekend, tried their lamb chops, Chapli Kebobs, tandoori chicken.all YUM, very juicy and delicious. Highly recommended.

Sadly I have to change my 5 star review. I tried calling them and the number went straight to voice mail so I had to order take out in person. I asked the staff about the phone and they proceeded to unblock the calls. They may be fudging the orders since the time stamp on my receipt was 3pm when it was 6pm. Besides, the quality of the food was nothing compared to before, abysmally small lamb tikkas and the size of the half chicken kabab. Rice and naan were old and hard. Salad was missing ingredients.

In our search for new cuisines to try, we went to this Afghan restaurant for lunch. We had their Mixed Grill of Beef Tikka, Chicken Tikka and Beef Seekh Dinner Plate and Grilled Salmon. There is a choice of Grill Plate served with salad and naan bread and the Grill Dinner Plate served with salad, naan bread, rice or fries. We asked if they have a dip for the naan bread which was served warm and was given the house yogurt sauce. The sauce was so good it can even be added to the beef, chicken and salmon. I most specially liked the Beef Seekh made of ground beef, it is flavourful. The beef tikka and chicken tikka are well marinated before grilling that they are so tasty and so delicious. They have big portions and the price is reasonable. Sid provided excellent customer service, explaining some of the dishes and making sure that we have everything we need. We will surely be going back to this restaurant to try other dishes.

My family was excited to eat here as the food looked delicious online.

We were really excited going in as we were hungry after shopping at nearby stores. As we had two kids who are picky-eaters, we had 2 Mcdonalds Happy meals, going in.
When we entered, we sanitized our hands and waited to be seated. The greeter/server approached us to let us sit.

We sat at a table, removed our jackets and browsed the menu. We were then approached by a man who might be the manager-on-duty, telling us that outside food (The Happy Meals) is not allowed inside. As we were already sitting down, we asked if we can be allowed just this time; the manager said that they cannot because of restaurant policy. We left with dissapointment.

That is totally understandable to have that in the policy and we respect that. What is UNACCEPTABLE is having us seated at a table, allowing us to settle down, handing us menus, and then informed that we cannot eat there as we had outside food. We were holding happy meals when we came in. Its not like we hid it, coming in. We're not going to let the kids starve watch us eat while they can't eat the food that they wanted.

Apart from this, I just realized that we weren't even asked to show our proof of vaccinations + IDs. This tells me that other customers that are seated may not be vaccinated, which violates Ontario Regulation 364/20 (under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible
Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020).

Love the authenticity, vibe, decor, seating, MANTU, Tea at the end with FIRNI and most of all the staff that always Greets with a smile on their face!

Extremely poor customer service; food is good if you're lucky to go/order on a consistent day. For an online order you have to order and wait over an hour and a half if you are lucky and they actually read/receive your order which they claimed to not receive my order.proceeded to wait an additional 30 minutes after being told it would be ready in 10 minutes, then saw that they didn't bother to read the order and only made partial order. What a nightmare! The place wasn't even busy yet they are still unorganized like this. Unfortunately no matter how good the food is on a good day I would never reccomend to anyone that actually wants their food sometime close to when they ordered it to be ready.

Good food is half of the story, excellent service, and good ambiance completes the experience.
And that is what I got during first visit to Bread and Salt Afghan Cuisine.

Lamb Shank on Qabilee rice, Chops and chicken Tikka, Naan, and salad, all well prepared and very flavorful

Our first time here, and we are extremely happy with our experience. Service was friendly, and the food was fantastic! It's our first time in an Afgan restaurant, we didn't know what to get so we got the "Appetizer Share Platter" to try a bunch of the appetizers at once. It was wonderful; our favourites in that was the Bolani, dipped in the Eggplant Borani. For main courses the waiter recommended the Lamb Shank which we both enjoyed. And we finished the meal with Firnee Pudding for dessert (which we both would have again). Would come here again!

Hands off, it is one of the most brilliant places to experience authentic kebabs. We ordered a combo of chicken tikkas (tandoori and regular). Amazing food, even better ambiance (thank god we can dine in again). And the service provided was like a cherry on the cake.
On the other hand, we experienced a little trouble because of the annoying party sitting next to us who wanted to have Mcdonald's inside the restaurant. The situation was dealt professionally by the assertive server, who made sure that the other customers dont have to experience any inconvenience.
Overall i would give full marks to this restaurant.

The food is very good. My wife has dairy allergies they accommodated us well ensuring all yogurt was on the side. The mix grill 4 is good, beef seekh kabob is tasty. Nice ambiance and decor as well.

Being originally Iranian, I have had a good experience of different kind of Kebab and I can say that this Afghan Cuisine has one of the beat Kebab in Etobicoke.

Food is always delicious, especially their grilled beef and chicken, and service is good. Also the vibes and energy of the restaurant is nice and chill, and the decor is very nice. My family and I are definitely gonna come here more, and I highly recommend the mixed grille platters as the meat is amazing and never disappoints. Lastly, the fact that they close late is the best part, as we like to eat at a later time after work.

What an awesome restaurant! I highly recommend! The place looks great and the staff was very welcoming. I went in to order and take some food to go. They make the best Afghan food! It was prepared promptly & plated beautifully. The portion and value you get is well matched and there will be enough for seconds! Great work! I'm looking forward to eating here more often.

I ordered the lamb karahi and the seekh from the restaurant, and no doubt it was the best I ever had. The perfect amount of spices in the karahi and the shammi was succulent and tender. Even though it was a takeout, the manager made sure I had the 'personal' touch by helping me select the dishes.
I took it for my friends who really enjoyed the food.
Ill recommend this to anyone looking for Persian food.

Sooooo happy we came across this lovely place. Food was incredible. We had chapli kabab platter and it was delicious. Decor is beautiful, too bad we couldn't dine in. Restaurant was very clean, they are following the covid regulations. We were impressed. Alot of seating area. Staff was polite and friendly. I would highly recommend this place. We can't wait to go back. Give it a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Ordered two masala chai teas to go, waited over 30 mins for it. Honestly I like this place but something like this is right as they probably already have this pre-made. They weren’t even busy.they only started to make it once I came in and still waited an extra 10 mins. I was in a rush and had to be extremely late because I decided to get a tea from this place. On top of all that, my cup was half full! For a 5 dollar drink.m! Terrible service!

Although almost all Afghan food dinings in Toronto are good but I can say this is one of the best. It is even better than bamian kabob which is more known to the people. I was there during the pandemic so I can't comment on the dining in, but the good we took out was high quality, well priced and well packed. The staff were friendly and the really was short. Did I mention that there was ample parking as well? I wish they had a second location in downtown area

Slow service, asked for dessert and they said the yogurt is over and serving the same yogurt with food. TASTELESS FOOD.

Authentic Afghani cuisine! Nice ambience and cordial staff. Never had Afghani food before and the menu had lot of new dishes to serve. Manager helped in suggesting their best dishes and had a few of them. Chicken korma - perfectly cooked and medium spicy served with rice, salad and naan. Afghani Daal - a bit different than Indian one but good option for Vegans. Grilled potato - another apt meal for Vegans. Mashed potatoes in Afghani style. Loved it. At last, Firnee pudding was a cherry on top. Would have given 5 stars for more quantity. But overall it was a nice experience.

A great place! Can't recommend enough. As a middle eastern, I always worry when my middle eastern cousins come to visit me here in Canada as the food quality is usually not as good as it is back home. However, this place does match the quality, and i can bring my cousins here and they love it.

This was my first visit ever. I walked in on Tuesday and asked the hostess for something that wasn't spicy. The menu provided didn't have any descriptions or icons to indicate whether the dish was spicy or not so I had to put my faith in staff. She told me the Chicken Seekh wasn't spicy so I ordered the plate. Imagine my surprise when I take a bite and my mouth begins to burn! I tried it with the sauces provided in hopes the fat would cut the heat. Nope. I was very disappointed I was misinformed and would have to go back to the restaurant.

I walk back in and tell the hostess the dish she recommended was indeed spicy and there's no way I could finish it. After consulting with the kitchen staff she said they would make the Chicken Tikka (I believe) and it definitely wouldn't be spicy. This time I made sure to take a bite of it before leaving the restaurant to make sure it wasn't. To my relief it wasn't spicy. I offered to pay the difference but was assured there was no need. I have to say, the chicken was amazing! It was cooked to perfection and I was impressed!

I would strongly recommend the menu be adjusted so those not familiar with Afghan food can have a description of the dish and/or have an icon indicating whether the dish is spicy or not. I found the menu online informative and I wished I had read it before placing my order.

Although I was upset I had to go back, they did a good job fixing it. Well done!

The food is just like any other Afghani restaurant in the gta. Nothing special about the food which merits higher prices than its competitors. The quality of rice is not upto the mark. The restaurant is newly built so the interior is nice. Ok for a one time try

We ordered the Family feast and BBQ platter. Everything was top notch clean. The service was quick. Our server was Siddhanth. He was very polite and accomodating.

The food was very nicely presented and it came in less than 15 mins. I will definitely come again.

The service and food was great. We got a couple plates of the chicken and beef kebab dinner plate. We did not dine in but it was very clean and a great ambiance for dine in as well.

Came with my family to bread&salt and from the start we were welcomed very nice. They offered us complementary green tea as soon as we arrived and it was quite good. We ordered the bbq lovers family plate and it exceeded our expectations. There was a lot of food and it was great quality and amazing cuisine. The whole time there was great customer service. I even asked for extra Cilantro sauce and they brought it without a problem.

Wow I don’t even know where to begin. This has to be the best restaurant me and my family have ever been to. My parents are extremely hard to please when it comes to Afghan food because they always say nothing compares to the Afghan food they make. But today was the first time my parents said this was the best food they’ve ever had. The mantoo was incredible, the bolani was fresh and delicious, kabuli was absolutely delicious, all the kabobs we tried were absolutely perfect (chicken chaplee, chicken tikka, beef tikka, lamb tikka), the chicken karahi was freshly made and perfectly spiced. I can’t say enough amazing things about the food. The decor was amazing, plating/presentation was beautiful, the restaurant was spotless and so were the bathrooms. Our beautiful server Kaltum was so sweet she really made us feel at home. If I could give a million stars I would. Me, my brothers and my parents can’t wait to be back! We drove all the way from Kitchener for it and will do so every week. Thank you Bread & Salt for true Afghan hospitality and real delicious Afghan food!
