I’m seeing this more and more within every system in place there is absolutely zero care or compassion for the animal it’s all about money absolutely disgusting no help. No suggestions just book an appointment oh we can’t help ya the vet definitely could all it is is a prescription for calcium for a baby bearded dragon so just let him suffer then absolutely disgusting people like this should not work in health care whatsoever

Can't recommend this Animal Hospital enough! We woke up to one of our cockatiel's wings stained with blood (very scary). Appears she had a bad night fright and banged up her wings. Britannia squeezed us in that morning for an assessment and treatment. Coco was handled with the utmost care, and she is recovering very well! Staff are amazing! Thank you again!

Dr. White is amazing! We brought our suddenly and mysteriously sick bunny, Nibbler, to the clinic when our usual bunny vet was not in at our regular clinic. Dr. White did everything she could for Nibbler, she was honest with us and very compassionate. She kept us updated and informed the entire time. Unfortunately, Nibbler didn't make it due to a rare condition (*sigh* bunnies can be so fragile) but Dr. White was kind and compassionate the whole way through. You could tell she really cared. Thank you Dr. White for your amazing work, care, compassion.

We have been seeing Dr. White and Dr. Valsamis (and team) for over 20 years. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. White and Dr. Valsamis and the team. Our pup was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer Jan 2021 and because she was afraid of people, we chose care through Dr. White instead of chemo at OVC. From the very first visit, she was never afraid of Dr. White. As long as she wanted to eat, play and walk without pain, we were committed. Sadly we had to say goodbye after 15 months. The support, availability and professionalism are the best around. Additionally, I continue to see Dr. White for my pet birdies and have for well over 20 years, including Dr. Valsamis. Super knowledgeable and helpful and I am so so grateful they are there. Thank you for helping Lexi on her journey.

I took my senior bird in for an illness. He is at basically his life expectancy. I have hard decisions to make and I needed a lot of advice. The vets here are nothing short of awesome. They listen and understand your concerns as a pet parent. They suggested treatments and fully explained all costs. I never felt pressured into any treatments. At another vet during the pandemic we had a very bad experience so I was hesitant and scared to bring my bird in. This place is the only place I will be bringing my birds to for care in the future. I highly recommend.

Insincere, two-faced, and cold. Not trustworthy - did procedures without my consent.

This is regarding one of their vets. There are other vets there too.

Insincere/two-faced/cold:
I went to this clinic for my cockatiel. I always thought she was a young bird, and came in with the expectation that she had a sprained ankle. So it was a real shock to me to hear from the vet that she was going to die in either two years or two months of gout, an incurable condition. We had our appointment, it started late and ended after maybe 40 minutes. She answered my questions. I thought at the time she was lovely. I was really upset, it was devastating. My cockatiel is my family and best friend.
This vet did not know that I had gone inside to pay, and buy some treats for her. I spoke to the vet tech at the front desk and asked her a question about if there were any tests that could find the origin cause of the gout. The vet tech went to the back to ask her the question – the door was essentially connected to the room I was in, and I could see her open it to ask. The vet said, in an annoyed and snippy voice “No. No there is nothing like that. I talked to her for an hour already about that. ” It was completely devoid of any empathy.
I think many of you can relate to this shock of having a family member be known to be sick. Your brain just shuts down. This vet could have acted with any little bit of compassion but she was instead so heartless about this issue.

Procedures without my consent:
During this pandemic it is more important than ever that you trust your vet -because they literally take your pet into the next room and you can’t see anything as the procedure is happening. This vet told me she would call prior to doing the appointment, and then refused to talk to me after she had taken my cockatiel in. She then removed gout crystals from her foot, because they were “near the surface. ” To do this you have to literally take a pin/scratch into the skin to obtain the gout crystals. It’s invasive and stressful and in the end we didn’t even use the gout liquid. She ultimately should have asked before doing this procedure and it was a major breach of trust.

I go here regularly with my cockatiel to get him a checkup and wing trim. Dr. White and the whole team there are just great. I wouldn't ever bring my bird anywhere else. An excellent practice. They have been following Covid procedures strictly; I feel safe going there with Squeak, my little birdie-buddy.

Amazing place! I wish we live closer. They took our Canary for treatment in very bad shape. We were worried that he is not make it through. Seems like a cold or flue. But after antibiotics prescribed by very kind and helpful Dr. White
He is recovering and feeling much better within 4-5 days. Hoping on speedy recovery. Thank you so much again.

I took my hamster to this animal clinic and was amazed at their kindness, quality of care and professionalism. Perhaps the VERY BEST animal hospital I have ever visited. The doctor, nurse and receptionists were absolutely lovely. Highly, highly recommend it.

We were referred to Brittania Animal Hospital because they are one of the only vets that handles small pets. We went to see them because my daughter's hamster starting displaying health issues. The staff/doctor were all very kind, great at listening to my daughter and her concerns, and they offered great advice and medical support. Most importantly, they made my daughter feel great about what she was doing to care for her aging hamster. Lots of vets may be able to give the medical advice, but the personal touch and follow up calls to check-in with us are what sets them apart. Highly recommend them!

SO happy to have found this clinic! From our very first call, the staff have been kind, patient, and truly went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Due to a past negative experience with a different vet, we wanted our appointment to be conducted over video call while we waited outside (due to COVID restrictions). When we explained our past experience and the reason for our request, the staff and Dr. Korolczuk were very understanding and said they would do whatever they could to make us and our budgie comfortable.

When we arrived, we saw firsthand how they handled our budgie with care, and they took time to explain what they were doing through every step of the examination to ease our concerns. Even when we had a few technical issues during the video call, the staff and Dr. Korolczuk remained patient and communicative, always picking up our calls to let us know what was going on.

I also appreciated that they didn't present our budgie's case in a way where we felt we needed to spend exorbitant amounts of money to give our budgie the proper care. Dr. Korolczuk even met us outside in spite of the cold to talk us through different treatment options, the reasoning behind them, and the pros/cons of each until we came to a stepped treatment plan we were comfortable with. Like many other pet owners, money is not a concern for us as long as our pet receives the proper care - and at BAH, I felt that they truly respected that by being advocates and counsellors for our budgie's health, not salespeople for the most expensive treatment option on the menu. When we returned home, our budgie was happy, chirpy, and went right back to her regular routine; she wasn't withdrawn and frightened like her previous vet visit.

We're happy to have found a clinic with a communicative and compassionate team, with experienced and knowledgeable avian vets. It gives us great peace of mind to have a clinic we know we can trust if our budgie ever needs help again.

I hope this is taken as more of constructive criticism and not hate. I’m coming from a place as a past client sharing my experience in hopes that changes can be made.

I believe a prescription should not be given to a client without instructions. I was given ear cleaner for my bunny, upon pick up I asked for instructions to which she replied “it’s on the bottle. ” When I go home on the bottle it says “use as prescribed by vet. ” I then had to call the clinic. The lady phoned me back and said “cleaning bunnies ears can be tricky you should book an appointment so the vet can show you. ” I was completely shocked because it is pure negligence giving a client a prescription if you think they are not in capable hands of using it appropriately. I asked the price and it was $145 (I might be off by a few dollars) which is a full examination price! I told her that I was in for a check up less then a month ago but she didn’t have anything to say. I ended up finding another vet shortly after this call.

On another note I noticed a lot of people are saying this clinic over charges and I can’t say I disagree. During the full examination everything came back as normal, no gas, literally nothing wrong yet the vet prescribed pain medicine. I asked her why and she said “they can’t talk so you don’t know when they are in pain” like what? !? ! I was so confused…left with a 300$+ bill. I’m not upset about paying that much, I just wish she had helped me understand why pain medication was even necessary in the first place.

They have an awesome front desk team. Smiles all around. Vets are knowledgeable and they give you options and even personal recommendations. Unfortunately, this vet location continues to increase prices of initial visits and other services. They never let you know prior that there might be a price increase, until you are at the end of your visit with a bill higher than what you thought.

My advice: if you have deep pockets come here. If you care about honesty, transparency, and a vet to not break the bank, travel 30mins outside of the city. It will cost you 50% less

I have nothing but the nicest things to say about my experiences every time I've taken my bunny Trevor there. The vet and staff are very professional, amazing, friendly, patient and always take time to explain and answer all my questions. The vet was very knowledgeable and genuinely cared about the well being of my bunny and checked for everything during her examinations of him while explaining everything to me and making suggestions. They would also call after Trevor's appointments to see how he was doing. Other Vets I had taken Trevor to before lacked the compassion, sensitivity, patience or knowledge on the proper care and handling of him. I highly recommend Britannia Animal Hospital.

We love Dr Young. We recently brought our bun Floof in for an ear infection - he received stellar care from Dr Young, who is always very thorough. Dr Young took the time to explain things to us in detail, and make sure that all bases were covered in diagnosing and treating Floof. He's now on his way to recovery. We feel that the team at Britannia care about our fur babies as much as we do, and we've never trusted a clinic more. Thank you!

They KILLED MY Bird and made me pay $150! Very Uneducated Doctor. I took my bird in for a checkup as it felt a bit sick, the bird was eating and drinking fine. The doctor did not allow me into the room during examination and the doctor cut my budgie's nail without asking me! Your not supposed to cut budgies nail while they are sick, it stressed them out more! And died shortly during examination. The doctor is new and Very Uneducated! They killed my budgie and made me pay, they wouldn't give me my budgie back.

@Kavin Ranges, I am so sorry you lost your bird. Birds are very lovely pets and are my favorite pet to have. As a seasoned bird owner, I can tell you that all birds mask their symptoms of illness. This is why regular veterinary care is so so important for the health of your pet. If you wait until the bird is visibly sick to seek veterinary care, then it is likely already too late.

I have been a long time client of Britannia Animal Hospital and I can tell you and anyone seeking a veterinarian, that the level of care and the degree of competence of all staff is exemplary.

With respect to the $150 charge, @Kavin Ranges, time is money. Regardless of the outcome, the doctor's time has value. I hope if you decide to buy another bird or exotic pet that you will be sure to take it for its check-ups every six months, as recommended.

BE AWARE they share and disclose your personal information to third parties. Even veterinarians are bound by doctor patient confidentiality and this hospital has no respect for it. There are many incidents in which they disclosed personal information about your pet to others without your consent, who’s not to say they didn’t share you address, phone number, or even credit card info. I have personal seen my pet’s information online without my consent and a LAWSUIT is being filed against this hospital for violating patient’s confidentiality. This is not a false posting or a scam, there are many incidents online where they released sensitive information.

After a horrible horrible experience at credit view hospital, i decided to take my quacker here in hopes that I can help my feather baby recover.
I was able to book an emergency appointment the same day, Staff were super friendly, great service, showed real concern about my parrot, ran all the tests required to find out the root of the issue, provided us with manuals and instructions on how to raise our quacker in the best health possible, the vet went out of his way to do everything he could, all for a reasonable cost. This is my 2nd time ever writing a review, but I feel the need to express how grateful i am, my feather baby is finally on the road to recovery and I wond hesitate to take him back here if god forbid i needed to.thank you so much for everything you do.

Was unable to see my regular veterinarian, so I was very surprised and pleased they could accommodate my needs immediately. Friendly staff and thorough vet. She even made sure to contact my usual vet for my rabbit's medical history. They also have strict covid protocols in place, which is very important during a pandemic. I would definitely recommend this clinic to friends and family!

I had a hedgehog with an sudden infection on her face. They were able to get me a next-day appointment on a Saturday, and they provided excellent and, compassionate care at each appointment. When Cinnamon unfortunately passed aw a few weeks later, they sent a sympathy card that was much appreciated at the time.

I understand that it is difficult to find a clinic that you trust when bringing your exotic animals for care. I was recommended to visit Britannia to care for my almost 10 year old mini Rex bunny. Staff here was very accommodating and professional. You can put your trust in the doctors to make sure that your furry friend is safe and well taken care of. I called early Friday morning last week, in a bit of a panic with a wounded animal, amongst all the covid19 closures and shut downs. Immediate pickup of my phone call, a calm and kind voice asking how they could help. When I explained my situation, they told me to bring in my animal right then and they would help me. I can’t thank them enough. Their kindness and professionalism helped me and my daughter immensely that morning. Thank you!

The doctor was really good. However, I did not appreciate the pressure tactics by the doctor. The doctor tried to put a lot of pressure on us to purchase additional services which I did not appreciate and also threatened to call animal services.

I took my adopted bearded dragon here. He seemed a bit off when I got him. 2 months later. After everyone telling me he was just fine I took him to this veterinary practice. I spent over $500. And the female vet said he may have worms.after learning more and taking him everywhere I could think of I learnt he has mild metabolic bone disease.the veterinarian did not mention that at all.not even a suggestion that it could possibly be the case.money grubbing loser who should not advertise as a vet who sees exotics if she has even less knowledge then a layman. Since discovering what was/is actually wrong he has made great strides, thank goodness (and a very unthankyou to the vet) I am so glad I caught it early and so unhappy I ever went to this vet. Maybe they’re good with other animals but do not take your reptiles here!

We have been going here for about 20years now with all of are animals. Have always found the staff polite and helpful, have always treated are dogs with love and care during there vists or if they needed to stay over. Even when we had guinea pigs they were well taken care of.

Would just like to say thank you for keeping are current (Yuki, Kai, Bear, Daisy) and past (Bella, Hoochie, Sherlock) furry friends in good health over the years.

November 15,2018:
Worst experience of my life, it was my 3rd visit to this place to get the treatment for my Cat which cost me about 200 dollars.
After the treatment around 6: 45 pm, tried to call cab/uber, no one was picking the phone. While I was waiting, receptionist ask us to leave, I told her that I am waiting for a cab, weather is too cold and snowy.
At 7: 00 pm receptionist told me that she can not wait any longer, asked us to step out and shut the door at my back.
I end up walking 15 minute with my poor cat, without snow hat and boots, went to shop in plaza and called my friend to pick me up.
I haven’t experience this kind of unhuman behavior. I still can not believe that someone can this to anyone.
For sure I will not go to this place again.no choice, have to give 1 star to post this review.

Why didn't you tell us that your daughter slid into a ditch with her car and that's why you were anxious/needing to leave to attend to her? But, I hope your daughter is fine. Maybe it was a 3 minute walk for you, but it wasn't for us in that kind of weather. Also, what if the shops weren't open at that time?
This statement by you "We also have a covered porch with seating that was offered for you to wait at while your cab arrived. " not true at all.all you did was "asked us to step out and shut the door at my back. "
