Have normally had a good experience at this home hardware. Been going there for 15 yrs. Today, needed a water refill and some soil. Filled water up while the obviously inexperienced cashier tried to do a return with one customer at the cash. Water filled, waited to speak with cashier for water plan info, then took water to truck. Returned and told cashier waiting to get soil when done. Roughly 15 mins with one return, while another male employee hovered nearby on the floor, never offering to assist at the cash. I walk to back of store to see whether can purchase soil at their registers because it’s “a bit ridiculous waiting at the front for a return. ” A very tall female, who I recognize has worked there for years, started walking to the front with me. She claimed it wasn’t very busy up front with a sarcastic tone. We get to the front cash and there’s now 6 ppl in line AND only now has the employee from the floor opened another cash. The tall female took over the cash to help the next person. Why? Why doesn’t a staff member, who clearly isn’t doing anything on the floor, ask to help me while at the cash? Why didn’t the struggling young cashier not ask for help? Terrible service on this occasion. I walked out.

Great helpful Staff.they had everything I needed. Much prefer shopping locally rather than the "Big Box Giants".

Carry just about everything you will ever need at the same or slighly higher price as the big box stores. Bonus it's just minutes away. Convenient and the owner Jeff is amazing.

Bought a defective product, brought it back to return it and was told only an exchange. Be sure to ask the stores return policy before you purchase anything. This is why they can’t compete with larger stores.

Unfortunately I am very disappointed with the service I received this week. Last week a co-worker was kind enough to show me a BBQ Pizza oven on sale from Home Hardware and my sisters and I thought this would be the perfect gift for Father's Day! Ordering online was smooth, until however I received an email ONE WEEK LATER that our order was cancelled. Apparently the inventory is not updated on their website and when I called to inquire the man on the phone was not helpful at all and actually said "there's nothing we can do, it's out of stock and we have no anticipation of when it will be back. " I was hoping he could rectify the situation by letting me know when this was back in stock, but now I am left scrambling one week before Father's Day to find a gift because their website is not updated regularly. Terribly disappointed and Home Hardware has lost a future customer.

I like to support our neighbourhood small business rather than box stores. This store was “Claustrophobic”, narrow aisles, items were in aisles and basically it was messy. It felt like a maze. I couldn’t find items. I purchased potting soil which I had to ask where they kept it outside. I’m not going back to this location.

Their drive through solution to COVID is brilliant. They do warn you ahead of time that there will be a wait. I really appreciated that. There was a wait but not too bad considering there were about 12 cars ahead. The attendant at the window was extremely patient and helpful.

They have a great drive thru window set up where you can order the items you want through a speaker just like McDonald's! Then you pull up to the window and pay and receive your items. So much faster and more convenient then traditional curbside pickups at hardware stores!

My 1 star is for the service and attitude here. Not only was I disrespected. I called head office and the manager didn’t even call me The person on the phone at the store was the rudest person I have dealt with in a long time. Ive been in customer service over 30 years. Pure disappointment.

I approached an employee to ask a question, he didn’t even let me say “hi”. He just blew me off with “it’s all drive through “ in an annoyed tone. Clearly people skills are not a requirement here. Don’t expect friendly service.

Everything went smoothly until I got to the window. I understand the times we are in and only have curbside pickup, but I would suggest if anyone is going to be picking up bags of soil or fertilizer do not make them grab it through their drivers window. I would have them pull up to the front door and you could have one of your associates put it in their trunk or truck bed. Other than that order process and payment was fine.

Went to purchase a new fire pit and one of the staff looked for over 10minutes til she found it for us. Not many Employees would spend more than 5 minutes and claim it must be a glitch in the inventory count. Very friendly and helpful staff.

They have a drive-through window, and if you call ahead your items will be ready in minutes. All I had to do was drive up, tap my credit card and grab my stuff.

What a joke! While other building centers have their garden center open to the public this home hardware utilizes a drive thru window which is not convenient at all. After waiting for over 25 minutes in the line only to hear that they could not locate my item but shows that there are 16 in stock on their website. The girl at the pick-up window was so rude and disrespectful and has no customer service experience. Still awaiting for the manager to follow up with me. Honestly I don't understand how their still in business. Save your time and money and go to Lowe's or Home depot which you'll find better customer service and are much more organized.

Their drive-thru order system is amazing. Definitely saved a headache with the long wait times we would have dealt with from other stores.

Covid has made things more challenging for customers and retailers alike, but Brooklin Home Hardware continues to demonstrate their "customer first" attitude. Although in store shopping is currently prohibited by the Province, Brooklin HH has set up drive-thru service (think Tim Hortons) ; you arrive (no pre-order required), order at the speaker, pay at the drive-thru window and you are on your way. Service is incredibly fast (in and out less than 10 mins) and very friendly. This store has figured out an innovative solution to the Covid challenge and deserves your business; you will not be disappointed.

Store is closed for in-person shopping. There is single drive through lane to make purchases and to pick up online order. Therefore, it can cause unnecessary delays to pick up online order. Email mentioned marked spaces for pick up but that is not the case.

Went for assistance with some traeger products. Staff members Spencer and Grifin were extremely rude and not helpful. Both were vaping in back of the store. Extremely unprofessional and will be taking my business elsewhere.

They had materials ordered in that big box stores said dont exist. Took 2 days to get to store. Helped me load my truck. Super friendly and fair prices.

Waited visibly for assistance no help provided by senior staff member. Finally went to cashier who was able to provide assistance.

The customer service is good. But sometimes your required items might not be in stock even if it shows available in this store location.

Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Anytime I go in there with an idea for a project they always find solutions and help me find what I need. This is my "Go to" hardware store!

We went there today to purchase a BBQ - I know, so close to the end of the season! They were the last place in Canada to have the model and colour we were looking for, so we made the 2 hour drive to go pick it up. Jeff was so helpful in answering all our questions and preparing the BBQ for us to take home. He even helped us disassemble and put it in our car! The level of customer service we received from Jeff and the store makes us sad it's such a far drive, otherwise this would be our new go-to.
Thank you for everything Jeff, and our burgers tonight were well worth the drive!

Purchased an item on sale from their website. Item said it was in stock and when I completed my purchase it said it should ship within 24hrs.
I waited a few days and had no notificaton of my item being shipped. I contacted customer service and was notified that the item was out of stock and back ordered until middle to end of August. Original purchase date was middle of July.
I decided to keep waiting and see if it would show up. End of July I messaged to see if they had a more clear ETA. I was told first week of August.
First week of August comes and goes and nothing shipped.
Email again to see if the ETA changed. It had, it was now middle to end of september.
I ended up canceling my order. Not due to wait but lack of communication.
They are still selling the item and no where does it state it is back ordered, or the wait time.
Very disappointing first experience.

I love these stores! They have that homey (no pun intended) feel where you do business with you neighbors, not some faceless corporation. A hardware store that carries crokinole is nothing short of awesome!

Wonderfully run local hardware store in the town of Brooklin. The staff are always very friendly and helpful whenever I come in.

It's a Canadian Store. I support it the best I can, even if I have to wait a couple of days for the items. The Brooklin store go out of their way to help

Went to get a piece of glass cut to use as a custom aquarium lid. They have 2mm and 3mm thick glass. I went with the 3mm. Will do the job perfectly, and price was very reasonable. Less then $10 for the size I needed! Will definitely go back for any other future needs.

Great local hardware store. Nice to support the non US big stores. They generally have most everything you need and are much closer to Brooklin as well.
