Browns' Your Independent Grocer Stittsville

Ok here’s my story I went into a store I’m a young teen so as I walking with my friend group of 5-4 not acting weird or anything just trying to get my jorritos cola as soon as I walk in I get profiled and a lady followed me for 2 minutes straight and then asked me to leave or to check out now and get a whole talk for nothing and we choose to check out and then we get our stuff 25 bucks for some cola and candy fix your prices by the way and the cashier was snarling at us one star screw you independent

This review is about the pharmacy department. I stood at the proper counter to ask a question about where something was located and 2 women behind the pharmacy counter treated me like an annoyance and a bother, they were rude. I will never buy anything at that pharmacy again!

PHARMACY
The experience I had today at the pharmacy located at 1251 Main Street was by far the worst experience I have ever had dealing with anyone. I went into grab my prescription after calling and verifying it was good to go as I got a text stating it was ready. I show up, saw my name and for pick up. Marium, whom states she is the manager tells me this is not a a Tim Hortons drive thru and not to call and expect my pill ready for me just like that. I expressed to the manager marium that I was told they were ready and I was making sure so I don’t go for nothing. I am left embarrassed, so disrespected. I have moved all my families files to shoppers. Please get better staffing, this was unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth. I shopped at Browns Independent my whole life and won’t be going back

Pre cooked meal is reasonable price but the general Tao chicken with rice is way too salty…

Independent is Maxi in Montreal. Both have excellent selections it’s slightly more expensive than other retailers but worth it

Not too busy this morning between 10-11. Which surprised me for a Saturday. Just picking up a few odds and sods. Quick through the cash and was very happy to see the Scouts-Cubs out front of the store running their Annual Apple campaign. Great to see the kids working together and learning at the same time.

I very rarely shop here due to their high prices. But they were able to bait me in with an "amazing deal" (lie) in their flyers.

They made a pretty big deal about it. Very large print focused ad for their $2.49/lb whole chickens. So I figured they definitely must have had a whole ton of them in the chicken section given the amount of emphasis they put on them.

However, when I arrived, I discovered that they only had a very small shelf reserved for this "amazing deal. " And I mean really small. Just enough for a handful that a single customer would normally clear out on their own. Empty of course.

Everything made sense once I saw the tiny shelf: a classic bait and switch scam.

Well, their exploitation strategy worked. Since it was very difficult to even get the location, I was forced to buy the insanely expensive chicken and a few other things that I needed.

Congratulations! You got me and my money. Your scam worked! I won't be returning, not like you care given how to manipulate your customers.

Had a Covid booster appointment for today. Booked it on line. Had several email and text reminders about it. Showed up to be told that they weren't doing them and seemed to have no idea about the online booking. So I had to go elsewhere. What a waste of my time.

Great customer service from Andrew! Also, the store is always clean and the staff are friendly. I always enjoy shopping here.

Purchased butter along with other groceries on Thursday. Opened it up this morning to make French toast and found mould in the butter.

Used to be my favorite store. Unfortunately the quality of produces are not great as usual, with unbelievable price for many items. I am so sad I have to shop at other stores.

Unfriendly staff paired with completely unreasonable pricing is not a good business model.

Nice store has everything but over priced 30% on most items just shopped sales and went to basic stores to complete trip.

Not impressed with butcher. Came in for the brisket. Smaller fridge had sign but was empty. Only had $70+ slabs in big middle fridge. Asked butcher if he could please slice it up into smaller roasts. Nope he was to busy. Not good customer service Phil.

Only the garden center was open.
If you're going to be open, be open! Otherwise, update your hours!
Also, everything is overpriced compaired to nearby competitors.

Ever since the Laura's store closed in Kanata, I hav been looking for similar quality fried chicken. Fortunately, it is here!

Very clean and well organized. Cashier was lovely girl and very polite. Some food was more expensive but that is to be expected given the times right now and inflation. All in all I will deginetly go again when I am out that way.

Amazing place to experience friendly staff and management who go over and beyond keep their customers happy. Highly recommend specifically this grocery store. Not all independent store are same - learnt hard way.

They no longer give you the option for bags this is just a money grab think about it they still have plastic bags for fruit and vegetables most containers they sell food in are plastic or styrofoam which is not recyclable so? It started out with paying for plastic bags then paper now no bags just there reusable once so that can make more money. The amount of carbon emissions one reasonable bag uses is the same as 2,000 plastic bags. You can also reuse plastic bags just so you know.

Independent Grocer has the best discount deals! I love getting a couple small salads or other 50% off items here, you can save a lot of money and get an awesome lunch
