Amazing place, delicious authentic food with excellent service! Wow, worth every penny Party of 8, had the Budapest platter, Goulash, Perogies and the Hungarian platter. Somloi Galuska and Crepes for dessert. All amazing authentic flavours. Perfection all the way to spotless washrooms. Thank you Eddie and Quinton for your excellent service!

We had the most amazing meal, excellent ambiance and food and cocktails were made to well but the staff. Would reccomend this place to anyone looking for a great evening and conversation. So beautiful and amazing cultural vibes.

The most relaxing and family feeling atmosphere we’ve had in ages. The food (Hungarian platter) was absolutely decadent. The server Quinton, was so friendly and kind. Loved the musicians, they had my girlfriend in tears it was so beautiful. Thank you! 10 stars from us’

Went here a week ago for my birthday. They did not disappoint. As a Hungarian who always has to try local Hungarian restaurants, this is probably the only one that had it all right. I'm convinced someone's grandmother was back there cooking, because everything was cooked to perfection. If you want authentic Hungarian food, this is the place. The staff was great and the portions were massive. Will always recommend this to anyone coming into the city. They even sang me happy birthday.

Perfect in every way.
Great food options. Booze options. And great service.
One odd minor thing. Coffee was charged by the cup rather than the norm top up refill free.

This place blew my mind! The best service of any London restaurant I have been to. It’s a beautiful mixture of elegant dining and a sweet family touch. I will be sure to bring more of my inner circle to dine here, as it is the perfect setting for anything from important family dinners to a romantic anniversary date. Eddie, my server, made sure that all aspects of my experience were above and beyond my expectations.

My boyfriend took me to the Budapest Restaurant on Saturday, January 28th for my birthday dinner. I had never been there before, and was looking forward to some good Hungarian food, and I was not disappointed.it was very good food. However, the service was slow, albeit friendly, we sat for an hour after ordering before receiving our celebration platter (we were told on numerous occasions that there was a party (of 20 people) and that the kitchen was backed up). We were never offered bread or anything else to eat in the meantime nor did our server refill our empty water glasses. Finally, we got his attention and asked for bread, which was of course delivered at the same time as our meal. It was mentioned to the server that it was my birthday, he said that there would be a surprise. SURPRISE.he forgot!

Server forgot about us after we were seated. Two pierogies cost $15. Took a long time to get a refill of water - approx 10mins. The Hungarian Platter cost $45 and it barley fed two. When we went to pay we offered a tip amount for the server to put in the debit machine to which the server said "how about I put in this much" which was more than we offered. We were so shocked that the young server was so brash to do this.
This restaurant has gone way down hill. From the crummy service, extremely high prices and the portion sizes and temperature of the food. Sadly, we will not be going back. As a Hungarian, I'm extremely disappointed and do not recommend.

Food was cold and the potions were tiny and over priced for the quality. It was not a fine dining experience! The atmosphere was fairly good. Overly priced for uncomplicated food.

As a fellow Hungarian, this restaurant does us proud. Great food, lots of options and well priced. Nice and friendly staff. We planned a surprise dinner for my mom and it went very well. We were well catered to and can’t wait to go back. Definitely must visit if you’re in the area!

Budapest Restaurant in London was my first true initiation into the world of traditional Hungarian cuisine and it was a great first experience!
My wife and I enjoyed our date night immensely. We had a chicken schnitzel sandwich, perogies, beef stroganoff, and a strawberry crepe to finish it off.

Fabulous atmosphere and excellent food! So pleased to have wound up here for our meal. Our group of 14 decided on an impromptu dinner and the staff at Budapest Restaurant couldn’t have been more accommodating. Lots of smiles, excellent service and wonderful food. This restaurant is a gem!

Delicious. Hungarian crepe was so authentic it made me homesick. Inside also looks very pleasant.

We decided to drive 2.5hrs to try this authentic Hungarian restaurant that we found on IG. All I can say is, it was well worth the drive! We walked in and we were instantly greeted with a smile and an amazing woman named Dani. She had giving us the option of seating in a private romantic nook that made it feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were blown away with the decor and smells from the kitchen. Our host Dani made us feel like family. She was personable and an absolute pleasure. Over all the experience was way better then I anticipated! We will definitely be back!

It was my first visit today after learning of this restaurant. I went to try their Chicken Paprikash, I have not had this for over 20 years since my mother passed away. It was 100% perfect and exactly the way I remembered it. I was so happy to have tried this restaurant food, staff, atmosphere was perfect. Thank you for letting me relive my childhood in memory of my mother! I will be back when going through London. I applaud my waitress and the Chef! Thank you

In Windsor just one day for art opening at 100Kellogg and in a taxi when I saw the sign. The Budapest Restaurant is a throw back in time with its timeless decor like being transported in a time machine. Bit of travel in times of covid. Alex was an amazing attentive waiter who explained the menu, but also the story of the original owner whose photograph graces the top of the bar display. An achievement for an immigrant and a woman to establish a business sharing culture and food. Toronto although it has its restaurants, real home food is fading. There are probably two left. The Budapest reminded me of time travel to another era with the setting and music. My goulash soup was as I remembered from years ago and the platter amazing and delicious with each bite. Thank you for a memorable evening.

I really enjoyed my dining experience. Dorothy was an efficient, friendly and competent server. I had the goulash soup and the Hungarian platter. Both excellent. The platter is an excellent choice because I enjoy all the items on the menu and this allowed me to have almost all of them. If I'm ever in this area again I will definitely be back. This restaurant is better than the other one in the neighborhood serving the same type of food

I dig this place. It has one of the most authentic retro dining rooms in London!:) Great service, fresh quality food. Bit overpriced perhaps, but again the food was super tasty and the experience alone makes it worthwhile.

Recently ate lunch here. Outstanding delicious Hungarian food. The sampler platters give you 3 different Hungarian specialties along with a side of delicious pickled cabbage.reasonably priced and quick friendly service. Loved it!

This place is a relic from days gone by.and it's simply amazing! A narrow space made warm by traditional Hungarian items hung on the walls, a clever use of material to give you sense of warmth and privacy. A close inspection of everything from the items hanging on the wall to the floor and you will not find a single spec of dust or crumb anywhere. There is a serious sense of pride in this restaurant, a pride that is reflected in the food. From the goulash soup to the royal platter you can taste the love and care that has gone into the preparation of these dishes. This was my first time there but absolutely will not be my last. Everything from the service to the flavors of the food to value once I received my bill was pleasurable experience.

Service was excellent. Food selections are traditional.which they are known for. Quite enjoyed the schnitzel. Cabbage Soup was delicious. One thing I loved was the older style design with curtains in between tables.makes it cozy and quiet.

The food was very delicious especially the pierogies and the goulash. They had a violinist going around to all of the tables taking song requests which made for a fun evening. The decor did feel like it was from 61 years ago which is how long the restaurant has been open in London. I would recommend trying it.

When I was a kid and I lived in Germany I ate this food all the time. I never got tired of it. All the food.ive had since I left there has been imposter immitation food. Still good, but not the same food really. Just kind of closer than most things.
Then I ate here. It is the first time in so long where I could eat the food as I remembered it. It was perfectly authentic, so very very good. I want to eat here all the time, but it's a fancy place so that's not in the cards for me. It is my restaurant of choice for London however. If you want to try authentic good food, this restaurants variant is nearly perfect.

The food here is amazing 10/10. Our waitress was very welcoming and helpful explaining the dishes. The atmosphere is great. I feel like I found a little slice of Hungary

Love love love this place.we have been coming here for years and the food and service is still as good as the first time we came.as is the decor which is very outdated and perfect! They even have live music playing on weekends and special occasions.
If you like authentic Hungarian food.made fresh on the premises then you'll love this place.goulash, schnitzel, sauerkraut, sausage, duck, veal, pork chops etc etc etc.all made fresh on the premises in authentic Hungarian style.
Even the buns, biscuits and cookies are home made.
Highly recommend this place.

Authentic atmosphere with nice music.
Food portions are very generous, and the soups are fantastic!
The platters have a wonderful variety of foods and are more than satisfying. Always taking home a portion for lunch the next day!
This is definitely a must-visit for a semi-formal dinner, a romantic date, or family/birthday celebration.

We had dinner with our friends last weekend and the food and service was amazing. We ordered Marika's platter which has enough food for two meals not just one. We also like it because it was homemade type of food made from scratch and not the cookie cutter, frozen food from a big chain restaurant. We decided to schedule regular outings at the Budapest. I heard that there is also a new cook coming expanding the menu options with Romanian dishes. The violin player was a nice East-European touch as well. Thank you!
