Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu Korean Restaurant

Casual friendly and fast service, the menu is on the smaller side but I was glad for that because I always have a hard time choosing, I ordered the kimchi soon tofu with hot stone rice and it was the perfect dish for a chilly day, hearty, savoury, and good level of spice. Was told the kimchi is shellfish free so I was glad for that because i love kimchi but have.a hard time ordering it because of my allergy. Will definitely be back! It's easy to miss because of all the construction but there is customer parking in the back.

I Saw this place quickly while driving by and I’m glad I stopped. I had the tofu soon kimchi bowl.very warming and delicious. The service was very friendly too! I will be back to try other things on the menu

They have a small menu selection which I like since they specialize in soups and stonebowl rice. We got their pork bone soup and fried chicken wings with spicy and sweet sauce. Their pork bone soup flavoring was good but there were too much garlic bits in the soup and not enough broth. Chicken wings were hot and fresh and tasty.

The Interior is clean and organized, the store is small and feel very homey. Their service was friendly and quick. The only drawback is the location since the city is doing alot of construction on hwy10 and its abit difficult to get to the store.

Love this place! Been coming here for years. It's under a new management and they still provide the excellent food that we love. The combination soon do bu and bulgogi are always a hit. Their purple rice is my favourite. Feels like I'm eating healthier rice! Their banchan is smaller and each person gets their own. You can always ask for more! Gamjatang (pork bone soup) is a welcomed addition to their menu. Definitely satisfied my craving last night! 감사합니다

Edit: New ownership, and still delicious. Comparing new to old, the quantity of Banchan has decreased (and no sprouts now). Asking multiple times for a refill can be embarrassing.

Been eating here for over a decade, first at their TO location and now here. The best korean food in the GTA by far, always consistent and good enough that I have family members from abroad dreaming about eating here when they visit.

The most delicious meal and amazing service. The menu is limited but whatever we ordered, delivered ;) had the broiled BBQ minus the broth. She explained everything the way a non Koren could benefit from. The sides were simply perfect. Really delicious BBQ meal HotPot. The rice was something else altogether. It was authentic tribal rice of sorts. So so tasty. The boneless chicken was to die for. Will come back for all work meetings. Affordable, healthy and tasty.

Edit#2: I am sad to see the original owners go, but the new ones are very friendly. They have freshened up the space with paint and new table tops. The food still tastes excellent. I am disappointed that they got rid of the sprouts banchan, it was my favourite. The banchan portions are also very small now. Other than that, it is still delicious.

Edit: This place has not changed; quality food, ingredients, and flavour. The employees are friendly. Still love coming here after all these years.

To the reviewer who said the cooks are Chinese and patrons are not Korean.clearly, you do not come here enough to know this. This is a Korean family owned establishment, and over the years, they have garnered patrons from all walks of life. I see many korean families and couples dining here all the time. I also see people of various ethnicities enjoying their delicious food.

We have been going here for 7 years! We have never been disappointed in the quality of the food. It is so delicious & portions are perfect. We feel very full after a meal here.
The owners are elderly, kind folks (this is a family run joint), and I feel it doesn't matter what hour of the day we go, they are always there. They work long hours!

I have been coming to this location for over a decade. The food is so comforting and the staff is so friendly. Unfortunately I didn’t give the rating a 5 because they recently underwent changes in management who have since made several noticeable adjustments. The ban chan has changed, the servings are different, and we even noticed a slight difference in taste for our usual dishes.

Everything was still good, but not quite as comforting as it was prior.

We tried the one at downtown location but saw this one on our way to Mississauga Hospital.

The taste is superb as usual. We ordered the combination soon tofu stone rice and pork bone soup stone rice.

The place is not that big but very cozy. The decor is more plain than the one at downtown.

The service is excellent, too.

If you’re in the area, this place has really good soon tofu. The owners are really nice and service was great. The parking situation in this strip mall was a bit sketch but outside of that, great place.

Truly one of the best places to go for some authentic Korean cuisine. The staff are super friendly and very helpful, never hesitating to offer assistance. The atmosphere is very cozy and makes you feel right at home. The food? Absolutely amazing. Ordered the beef bulgogi soup with hot stone pot rice, and it was heavenly. The beef wasn't too tough or chewy, and it held a lot of flavour and the rice was honestly good enough to eat on it's own, but definitely tasted better with the soup. The soup itself is a little bit on the sweeter side, so if you're looking for something spicy I would suggest the Combination soup. I strongly recommend visiting here, you won't regret it at all.

The place is a bit run down and loud, but the service and food is top notch. Good banchans, great stone pot rice, great tofu stew. Would return!

Food is good, owners are nice, but didn't appreciate kitchen staff coming out 20 minutes before closing to stare me down as I was finishing my meal. Felt uncomfortable and rushed. Closing time was stated to be 9pm, and I was stared down until i paid and left at 8: 50pm. This deters me from coming back.

It's really delicious. It is the most delicious in the world. It's a taste you have to learn from Korea.

Love the soft tofu soups here. Despite limited menu, the dishes were delectable! The vegetarian soup is very tasty. Very authentic. The only strange part was eating the remaining rice stuck on the lava bowl mixed with warm water. Would love to come back again and again despite the spartan setting. They need to refresh the ambience and more Korean themed decor with music.

Extremely good Korean food. I’m not one myself, but it’s very authentic.

Also ask to not add water to the rice to enjoy some crispy goodness.

Great food, just a bit disappointing. I ordered a combination tofu stew, description said it contained mussels, shrimp, and beef. Sounds great— but it was very disappointing since there was 1 very small mussel, 1 tiny shrimp, and 3 very very VERY small pieces of beef. The rest was tofu. The taste was still delicious, but I was a bit frustrated that I didn’t really get what I expected. And $16 for a bowl of tofu isn’t really worth it in my opinion. The meat is what I’m paying for, and if there’s literally no meat, then that is very disappointing. The reason why it still gets 4 starts is because it was still really good. Taste wise, it had no problem. I was just very disappointed with my portion of meat. I hope they add more, but if it’s financial not possible, I’d consider raising the price by a couple of dollars to add what people ask for/buy.

The ham, sausage tofu stew had much better portions of meat, probably bc ham and sausage are much cheaper. Still, please would love to get what I asked for next time. Unfortunately might not return here though.

Great customer service with great good. I prefer this location over the one near North York. We come here at least once a week, would recommend.

This Korean restaurant has been in business for so many years. They are able to maintain the great quality, especially the Soon Tofu. It tasted authentic and is definitely yummy. If you don't mind that the decorations are a bit worn, the food quality will make it up.
The owner is kind and friendly. The hot stone rice is something rare that not every Korean restaurant would offer. Try it yourself and let me know how you think. I am sure you would agree with my rating.

Reasonably priced, super filling, and really tasty comfort food! Order the combination soon tofu, regular spicy, and their broiled bbq beef (NOT the soup). They don’t really have the space for big parties, so would not recommend going with more than 4 or 5 people.
