Think about it people. There is no expiration dates on the bulk food and the food taste stale. Who knows its if there is mold. Also all the different hands in the bins. Not a very good choice to buy your food

I really like this store for its products but today the service was poor. 4 staff chatting together at the cash area, one serving the man ahead of me while the others ignored me waiting there. Finally one opened a second cash after more people lined up behind me. My remark that is hard to understand being kept waiting when there's 4 staff went unanswered. To me that's rude. Guess those young staff need more supervision!

The supervisor (not sure about her exact position) is not kind at all. There was a miscalculation on my receipt and came back to the shop to handle it but she seemed uncomfortable with it.

Good COVID 12 protocols. (Only problem is the customers who can't read traffic arrows.) Helpful and unfailingly courteous staff.

Instead of the very wasteful gloves at the front door they should be asking people to sanitize like everywhere else.

I went to this Bulk Barn today to request a refund today and was met with a terribly rude manager. My sister was overcharged $15 at another bulk barn and when we came into the store to ask for help, we were questioned at every step and met with general hostility by the manager, Shirley.
I've never had a problem at any Bulk Barn before and was astounded by the rudeness at this specific location. Will no be going again.

Terrible experience with management (SHIRLEY) - I am a HUGE fan of Bulk Barn and shop there frequently. Went today and realized when I got home (after checking my receipt) that my red lentils were entered as nutritional yeast and I was overcharged by $16. I went to this location to have it corrected and was treated heinously by the manager SHIRLEY. She was unbelievably condescending and rude throughout the entire refund process. It was a disgusting exeprience and I am horrified that this woman is a manager and was training a young man on cash at the time of the incident. There is no way she should be in this role, incredibly disappointed with treatment here.

We went here on Tuesday night 50 minutes before close and the cashier was happy to tare our 40 or so empty containers that we were going to fill up with bulk products. 10-15 minutes before close she was still smiling as she was weighing the products. Sorry to be a hassle, but thank you again for the patience and great attitude!

Great if you like to buy things in bulk from large buckets that you scoop into plastic bags. My best place to enjoy looking at all these things! And trying sometimes: P

According to the Manager, this Bulk Barn opened on 29 October 2013, after having moved over to Fairlawn Plaza from Carlingwood Shopping Centre, making it one of the largest of its kind in Ottawa. As one enters wheelchair accessible doors, the sound of radio music from 93.9 can be heard. The staff never fail to be happy, friendly, helpful and courteous and are normally always busy with customers, stocking the bins or cleaning up.
Bulk Barn has weekly flyers and coupons, such as $3 off every $10 spent, and also the occasional $5 gift card promotion when spending a certain amount. Every Wednesday there is a 10% discount for seniors and students. And, of course, they promote the reusable container program. They also sell very durable, attractive, reusable plastic shopping bags that will probably last anywhere from 10-30 years, depending on how much you use them.
You can buy as little or as much as you need, ranging across a great variety of items, from soups, nuts, seeds, baking ingredients, candy, snacks, chocolate, cereals, grains, spices, dried fruit, pet food, bird supplies, etc. They even have specialty cake pans to rent, as well a good selection of piñatas for birthday parties. Then, for peanut butter lovers, they have a section where you can grind and make your own!
This is a fascinating store! And I am sure most customers return here frequently, for I am always bumping into someone I know! So it also becomes like a village meeting place.
