Bulk Barn

I've shopped at bulk barn for 30 years but the prices are getting ridiculous. Really sad to see a Canadian chain falling apart like this. Sadly I need to now purchase products from Amazon. I'd rather support Canadian owned businesses but not if they can't find ways to lower prices. Disappointing.

Worst bulk barn location there is by far! Smells bad, stale goods, clumped garbage. Bad staff. Avoid this location! 0 stars, 0/10 would recommend

The employees who work here are rude and have very horrible customer service. Went in looking for a specific item to make a cake for my sons birthday and was immediately met with attitude and an eyeroll by the first employee who I asked about where to find said item because I had interrupted her from what she was doing in that moment. To then walk up the isle and speak with another employee after I noticed the item i wanted wasn't even in stock, and she was also rude to me and told me to quote her exact words "maybe try looking in a few months when the lockdown is over" When I had asked her if she could help me find out if another bulk barn had what I needed. This location should definitely reevaluate its employees and maybe give a lesson on how to speak to customers when they walk into the store.

The Covid protocols were in place, but the shopping experience was disappointing. I went in with the intention of getting the necessary ingredients for my Christmas stuffing and Christmas cookie bags; they were out of tarragon and parsley (in fact, the receptacles were missing so it looked like they had been out for a long time) and I was told that the cookie bags hadn't even been ordered. The trip was very much a disappointment.

This has always been my favourite location but recent events make me want to reconsider switching to another. On a Saturday morning, I placed an online order for pickup and the instructions state they will call you when it is ready to pickup. I tried calling a couple of times that afternoon but no one picked up the phone. 28 hours later, still nothing.

Sunday afternoon, I called them and was told all orders from yesterday are ready and when I asked why I never got a call, all I got was an "oh! I'm afraid you'll have to wait until Monday now since we are closed for inventory".

I don't care that they are doing inventory, I am annoyed nobody called and wasn't given an apology. I required some of those ingredients that day. I was so annoyed I told him to cancel my order and I"ll go elsewhere. So much for convenience of online orders.

Folks here are great. Things were sparse for a while but supplies are back and they are going strong

I bought the pasta that is shaped like bugs, got them home boiled water went to put them in and there were actual bugs crawling around in the pasta. I called Bulk Barn and manager said " bring it back tmrw we are closing" not a sorry, nothing!

Awesome place to get treats and ingredients in bulk, either if you're planning a movie night or planning to bake. Staff are extremely nice and helpful, and there is a wide selection of candy, and ingredients like brown sugar and baking chocolate. The store smells very nice too.

There are some curious omissions in their spice rack, but otherwise the store is well stocked. Prices are usually better than fair and sale prices are outstanding. My experiences with the staff have been positive. This is my go-to Bulk Barn.

Was the worst costumer service ever! I asked about colored chocolate, I buy hundreds of dollars all year long for all occasions. It was Christmas time and I couldn't find any, When I asked, the response from a very rude older lady was " that's all we have, just what's there" No explanation, if more product was coming soon, nothing. I will drive all the way to Upper James in a blizzard, with four flat tires, before I will ever set foot in the nasty store again
