Nice Pub in the most unlikely place near an industrial type area. The food was excellent I highly recommend the stir fry and the mushroom soup. Really can't go wrong with any order. Lots of space and welcoming staff.

It was a quiet evening but the staff and kitchen make me know I'll be heading back again soon.

Everything was fine until one guy at the bar started singing and whistling all by himself, then started yelling a conversation across the room. Restaurant has a regular group of customers apparently. A nice English style pub with a variety of food to sit everyone's liking.

This little gem was amazing. Home cooking was delicious and so reasonably priced! We had bangers and mash and roast beef special. My husband was so impressed because he was offered horseradish to go with his beef! Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Fantastic pie and relatively cheap beer. Really highly recommended will come back for sure.

What a great little spot for a pint. The best thing about this place is it aint donaleighs.

This was a delightful surprise, the food was excellent and atmosphere was great. Did not expect this from the exterior and location. The wings where a surprise and are very good. The pub fair food was wholesome and filling, very kid friendly.

It's okay, says it's a British style pub.not a British beer on sale though. Decent enough pint of Guinness and friendly staff.

I generally only review places that I have more than 1 experience with and the Bull and Barrel falls well into that category. Great, consistent service from all staff and especially Jennifer (manager). They know my name and my preferences. Have taken my staff here for a group outing and even with 12 people we got the same level of service. Keep up the great work!

Always great service and delicious food! I had the beef dip with fries with a caesar I appreciate their covid care too, from the table with sanitizer and tracing sheet everyone fills out right by the front door, to friendly staff who greets you with a gentle reminder.
Definitely going back!

Best pub feel in Barrie. Towns need more places like this. Service was good and the wings better than average.

2/6/23-same great pub spot and pub food. Needs a little TLC now IMO. Or maybe it's my mood based on my last review here.

Sadly I have to change my review. I've been going for trivia on Wednesdays since 2017, but it looks like last night was probably my last time. They've introduced pay-to-win mechanics into their trivia, in the form of awarding points for Wednesday's trivia to people who order entrees on Sunday-Tuesday. Needless to say, this undermines the spirit of trivia and of competition for the sake of a few extra bucks.

I contacted the pub itself but they ignored me. I contacted the company that hosts the trivia, PubStumpers, but they seemed more concerned with persuading me that the pay-to-win mechanic was acceptable, rather than listening to my objection.

The trivia IS fun, but now it is only fun if you don't mind that a game of skill and chance is now about skill, chance, and how much extra money you are willing to pay. Very disappointing for trivia enthusiasts.

Quality pub atmosphere and food. Meat pies are made fresh for you from scratch. Cottage pie, steak and mushroom pie are on the menu. I had the Coronation special, steak and kidney pie, on my most recent visit.

We loved our visit to the pub today.
Alexis was truly amazing! She was kind and funny and anticipated our needs before we even knew what we needed. The food was so delicious and great portions. We had a great birthday celebration. Thank you all so much.

I always love it here! The food and staff are great. I recommend having a reservation on the busier nights like Friday.

The food is always great and it's the closest thing to a real British pub you will find. My only complaint was that it took about an hour to get our meal. To be fair it was a Sunday evening and perhaps they didn't have enough staff that day.
