Bumpkin's Restaurant & Lounge

I recently dined at your establishment and regret to inform you that my experience was less than satisfactory. Firstly, upon entering the restaurant, I noticed a staff member openly playing what could be considered sensitive news content from China on their phone, which I found quite unsettling.

Secondly, regarding my meal, I mentioned that the lamb was too tough, but the server seemed to take no action to address the issue and appeared to be evading responsibility.

I hope the management can address these concerns, improve service standards, and ensure proper staff training to guarantee an optimal dining experience for all customers.

We can’t say enough good things about our evening at Bumpkins. The host, Min Ma, was so gracious, the welcome was warm, the decor was formal - yet familiar, the food was extraordinary and the attention to detail superb. Our party was celebrating both a birthday and an anniversary and Min made everyone feel very special. Next time we are in Toronto, we will definitely be back.

Surprising find off of Yonge St. The food was delicious. Would highly recommend the seafood crepe and french onion soup. Service was great too! We can't wait to come back again to try other dishes.

We had our dad’s celebration of life and Min and the team went out of their way to make it special. The food was excellent and so was the service. We will be back and I highly recommend it.

If you want a great steak and great service this is the place to be. Place is quaint and relaxing. Love the attention to detail that staff has implemented. Min the co-owner/waiter is especially wonderful. He catered to my wife’s bday. OMG! The French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had! Steaks are made to perfection. Cocktails are superior. Wine selection is perfect. Crème brûlée is the bomb. When I come back to Toronto, I’ll definitely be back. Thank you Min for the great service and experience. I’ll never forget it! You made us feel like we’re home. Salud!

What a treat! From the warmest of greetings and familiar and tasteful atmosphere to the fantastic appetizers and tender cuts, this place hits the mark and fills the gap and all at the most reasonable prices.
Next time, I'll try the lamb!

A nice restaurant with very low illumination. It's has an old-style and quiet vibe. Great service by Angel, who happens to speak Spanish. Good food, but not spectacular.

What a lovely transformation of this space! Perfect spot for a brunch or lunch before theatre. Good menu, well prepared and presented. Attention to the small details that make a meal memorable. Will be returning whenever in this area.

This place is amazing! From the first moment we stepped into the restaurant, it was warm and friendly. The Owner was so personable and offered impeccable service. The food was PERFECT. Decadent and tasty. We can’t believe we just discovered this neighourhood gem! Was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you, Min!

"Amazing" is the only word I will use to describe the service we recieved at Bumpkin's for my husband's surprise birthday party. Min, the owner, along with Terry and Angelo were fabulous. The food was good and it came out hot! The one thing I appreciated most about Min was that he made us feel like we were regulars and it was our first time there. It was like hanging out at a friend's house for dinner. Very genuine, playful and authentic.

The love and pride these guys have for their restaurant is obvious; from the moment we walked in we were treated like family.

Food was good too. Portions were generous.

Will definitely be back.

We had a fabulous night at Bumpkins. Drinks were great and Min Ma was absolutely phenomenal. You need to try the French Martini. The service is impeccable and great ambiance. Definitely the place to have great foods.

Thank you for making our Daughter-in-Law to be’s Bridal shower and
lunch such a successful Saturday afternoon event. The Chicken Parmesan
was delicious (as always) and the fresh Strawberry and Vanilla Ice cream
crepes were a big hit for dessert.
After so long apart it was fabulous to be able to gather again and
have some laughs with friends and family.
Having the groom and best man come at the end so we could captured
them in the group photo also added to the fun!
We’ve known you, Min, for so long it was lovely to create more special
family memories with you, Angelo and Haley, today at Bumpkins.

Love love Bumpkin's, our group goes there every month. Ming is amazing, he is so friendly and nice, he makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. He also greets you by name and a big hug. The rest of the staff are all great. The food is amazing. Always look forward to going there.

Honestly the worst dining experience of my life! The servers were nice and I know they were trying their best. It’s still not okay for a food so bland and so overpriced to take 2 hours to come. The table was a mess, the dirty dishes were just sitting on the table and no one was coming to pick them up. I don’t like leaving bad reviews and trust me I’ve never left a bad review for a restaurant before. However, the food was honestly really bad. A $60 steak dinner shouldn’t have frozen vegetables on the side. The ambiance didn’t make up for the bland food either. The restaurant was really cold because the door was constantly left open. Despite there not being too many customers, we were constantly ignored by the staff. We were so excited to try this highly rated restaurant and unfortunately were disappointed.

Great ambiance, wonderful staff and delicious food. Also the wine recommendation was fantastic! 5 stars! Great experience!

Came here for the first time after 30 years with my father and family, and the food was as good as always! Min went above and beyond, the food was delicious and the service was even better. Great environment and delicious food and drinks, couldn’t have asked for a better night. Min was our waiter and bartender, and made our whole night fun and amazing, cannot wait to come back soon - highly recommend!

I had dinner at Bumpkin's for the first time this summer. The menu was extensive and everything was delicious, with very generous portions sizes!
The bathrooms were spotless, the cleanest I have ever seen at a restaurant. I will definitely consider holding private functions at Bumpkin's in the future.

Beautiful old place with stunning mirrors and wall-hangings in the large and spacious dining room. Not wheel-chair accessible. Windows open onto a parkette which is currently under renovation. I've been here for dinner but I prefer it for brunch. Well-prepared food and relaxing atmosphere to start one's day!

Elegant and clean place, fast and pleasant service, delicious food. Great place for a birthday party or/and a romantic dinner for couple. A little bit pricy, but it is woth it.

What an enjoyable first time experience! Came here with a few friends that had their reception from their wedding and might I say it was so enjoyable. Service was great here, the timing of everything was impeccable and we were never left unattended for long, we had our privacy when we needed, and our wine glasses were filled when time was coming up. The food was great for pricing and might I say, their french onion soup was quite impressive. I wish I had more stomach space to try their other entrees. My steak was cooked to perfection and the desserts definitely did not fail to deliver. Would highly recommend this place for a nice private conversation either to catch up with friends or just to chat.

This is a fantastic restaurant to visit before going to the CAA theatre, or any time you like. The atmosphere is lovely and comfortable - it has a unique feel compared with a more standard place like The Keg. The pricing is very reasonable for what you get, and the service is wonderful. Highly recommended!

Food is great, especially for the price. Steak and an escargot appetizer are my favorite. I have been dining here for over 25 years!

My husband and and I have been here now several times. It has quickly become one of our favourite spots. The food is fantastic. Service is phenomenal. Excellent overall!

We definitely had a five-star experience! The atmosphere (complete with crystal chandeliers, beautiful decor, and soft instrumental background music) set the stage for a delectible meal. I had a fresh Caesar salad (with homemade dressing) ; Chicken Parmigiana with fresh garden vegetables; and creme caramel for dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection. And the service was FANTASTIC! Kudos to the owners, the chef (s), and our server. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!

I first visited Bumpkin's regularly as a child over 40 years ago and recently returned for a visit. It was as good as I remembered - fantastic selection on the menu and consistently executed. The service is warm and professional. Nice, moderately priced wine list and delicious food. Perfect for dinner before a show at Mirvish CAA theatre up the street. Definitely worth a visit!

You couldn't ask for better hosts than Min, Terry, Angelo and Tony! The place is charming and has an extensive and delicious menu. Our group dines here every month and for all special occasions it is the place to be! Just let them know and they will make you feel very special! I had the blessing of my marriage there and they made it an occasion that we would never forget!

Went here last 40 years ago. Until today. Not cheap. You're looking at about $200 for a full meal per person. Excellent service/Butler's. Everything on the menu is high quality and well prepared, not to mention delicious. Fantastic for When you prefer the Finer Things in life. Or even just you have business to discuss with a friend or group. They also offer gluten-free and lactose-free options. Very kind to newcomers and especially kind too regulars. Definitely a must-try.

The service was excellent. The food was superb. My friend who too me is a long standing customer from when it first opened decades ago. You don't have that kind of customer loyalty unless the place is excellent.

The bread was warm crisp and perfect, the pasta I had a small amount of kick that have great depth and was very satisfying.

Good ambiance and good service, but food is unpredictable. Passable uninspired fare on good days. On another occasion, soup arrived cold (in a cold bowl) and roast lamb was clearly reheated from a prior day (overdone and tough). Vegetables were an afterthought, undoubtedly frozen. Highly priced for an establishment that is clearly not trying to distinguish itself by its kitchen.

Cozy and classy setting for dinner. Very clean and VERY large menu with lots of mouth watering choices. Service was extremely friendly. Average price for entree is about $25-$30
