Burgers and Shakes

For over 3 years this has been our #1 restaurant choice everytime I'm traveling with family out of Ottawa via 416. It always makes the long drive exciting for the kids!

For someone who's been to over 100 cities coast to coast, this is hands down one of the best charbroiled burgers in the eastern part of North America.

If this was closer to where I live I'd be certainly ordering more often for myself as well as for our corporate events.

I started ordering from Burgers & Shakes as I was looking for alternatives to the typical fast food restaurants.
I’ve been so impressed with the food and service. I went today to pick up an order for my family. I had specified on my online order that my food is to be cooked away from any bacon.when I arrived at the restaurant the owner provided me with my order and explained to me that everything at the restaurant is Halal and they don’t serve pork. He even explained how he prepares the food (he grinds his own meat) and that everything is homemade The burgers, fries, and shakes were delicious and I would def go back again, and I would highly recommend.

The burgers were horrible. They were over cooked, burnt and tasted horrible. We didn’t get the right toppings on our burgers either. The milk skakes tasted like freezer burned ice cream. It was the worst burgers we have ever had. Very disappointed with the quality of the food.

The restaurant and service was great. The burger itself was ridiculously dry and just not worth the cost. I wouldn't go back unfortunately. The onion rings were great though.

Always delicious burgers. We went for the chicken burgers, a good portion and the chicken was super juicy.

We tried it first time for a lunch. The service was good, the food was fresh and good too. The only thing is the tables and chairs were very dirty, I tried to use the napkins, but it didn’t do much. When I asked one of the ladies that work there she kindly helped us out by cleaning it properly. That’s why I gave 3 stars for atmosphere.

Good burgers, but not the best in town. All patties are homemade to order and the flavor is good though not spectacular. Fries are hand -cut and tasty but probably overly salted.
Restaurant is freezing, but that could have just been the contrast to the warmth outside. Overall, liked it, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Came here for a quick bite and they have a wide variety of shakes, burgers & sandwiches combo options. Place looks like your typical burger joint that always deliver with their food.

My wife and I tried their chocolate and nutella shakes, which I highly recommend. We also got their crispy chicken sandwich with a side of fries and gravy. Chicken, fries, and gravy were cooked well and were very flavourful. The bread is very soft, and their sauce options were also great, had the honey mustard and chipotle mayo.

The food is delicious but placing our order and waiting for our food was not a great experience. Staff and customers looked confused, they need a better system in place. In the future, we will be ordering online and picking up instead. Also keep in mind that the restaurant does not accept credit card.

I give it 4 stars simply because of the manager who was working that day. Our first time there, he was patient and good with suggestions. The food was ok but given that I'm vegetarian I don't have a lot of options. My husband said his burger was very good!

When I worked in the landscaping industry on a 40 degree weather day, a staff member took the time to come across the road, brought our entire crew cold Gatorades and offered us each (8 crew members) a free milkshake for the following day. I have never actually eaten here as I'm not from the area, but this kindness cannot go unnoticed!

Good food, decent prices, it is somewhere equivalent to five guys, in my opinion better. Im giving it a five star because its better than the grand majority of other burger stores in ottawa not that there arent better ones. I do recommend trying their food

Great quality food, eat while hot though so it doesn't get soggy. Great service, amazingly friendly service. Definitely my go to burger joint in Barrhaven.

We tried chicken shawarma combo. Felt a bit pricey but I after having it, I would have paid double! This was the best chicken shawarma and fries combo I have had period! Strongly recommend trying this place pur. If you haven't, you are missing out

It's very expensive, which is fine, if the quality of the food matched the price but it didn't. Almost $40 for 2 burgers? No thanks. I will say that the manager/owner is the nicest person I have ever met in my life. Great guy, great place, but I'm thinking it's just not for me.

The cost is too high compared to the quality of food. The burgers were just ok, not juicy by any means and bland. But I definitely DID NOT enjoy eating yesterday's fries reheated today. They were absolutely terrible. I have been here before and the quality has diminished. Will not return and will not recommend to others. The wait was long as well considering I went into the establishment to order and was given a fob and asked to wait outside until it vibrated. Was approx 25 minutes from ordering to picking up.

Absolutely 5 star tonight. Walk-in order was fast and easy and burgers were delicious. We are scratching our heads why it's been so long since we've been here. Best burgers in Barrhaven.hands down!

Great place to grab a bite alone or with friends/family! The prices are extremely reasonable! Not only the food tastes amazing but it smells so good! The hardest part is smelling the food and it being able to eat it because it is still cooking This place offers free parking on the premises!

Burgers and Shakes is a local, must-try Ottawa burger joint. All their ingredients are fresh and their portions are very generous. They have a wide range of toppings so you can build your dream burger. Seriously, if you haven't had Burgers and Shakes, give them a try! They're a local gem that started in Manotick and branched out to Barbaren - lucky for us!

But more importantly for my wife - they're one of the few places we trust for Gluten Free food. My wife has Celiac disease and even a little gluten can make her sick for a few days so we have to be very careful where we eat. We've ordered a lot of GF burgers from the Barbaren location and even had a chat with the owner about how providing safe food for people with dietary restrictions is important to them. We trust Burgers and Shakes to keep the GF burgers safe, plus their gluten free buns are super tasty.

Having heard great things about food and service, visited this past Friday evening. Having taken my order I paid, including a 20% tip. We waited outside and waited and waited. Meanwhile at the very least - 5 to 6 other customers who all came after us, left with their food, while we continue to wait.
Now obviously folks were all pre - orders.some of them delivery services Etc

That is great that you are doing brisk business and people have figured out that its better to order ahead because otherwise be prepared to wait a longer than satisfactory time period. So my beef with this scenario is - come on owners, figure out your customer service because we will not pre order or return. We paid 35$ and were let down by burgers which were over cooked tasteless and the bus were stale.
