Great mix of shade and sun. There's an abundant amoung of tables for picnicking, including several lined up for large groups. We use the charcoal BBQs all the time, just bring your own pumice, stone to clean it, and some charcoal, and you're good to go. The washrooms are surprisingly clean and don't smell to high heavens.
If you're looking for a great place to hang out with the family for the day, this is it! But, remember, this is a nature park, you need to make your own adventure and fun.
Nice trails. Lots of options to explore or take an easy walk. Very peaceful. There's a large playground structure for the kids as well to get some energy out.
My daughter went to a nature retreat for special needs. It was a great location for walks. There is a park available for kids as well. Keep going the same services.
We had a very nice off leash walk in the grand space where the pool used to be. Always one of my childhood favs.picnic area for days. Dog parks in the back. (We never go in though)
Great place to go hang out. Despite being in the middle of the city, you don't feel it there. There are alot of trails to explore and a dog park to enjoy.
Great atmosphere, lots of shade and very clean. Lots of barbecue pits, picnic tables. Including port a potty! Great job to all the staff who take care of everything there! Well done!
I just love this place and go there often for my lunch break. But I was so disappointed to see that they blocked off the back picnic areas to cars with a guardrail as it was so nice to park in the shade and enjoy the park. I do not see any logical reason for this and feel it was a waist of money and not well thought out
My daughter went to a nature retreat for special needs. It was a great location for walks. There is a park available for kids as well. The park is relatively new 15-20 years old. Picnic tables are available too. Washrooms are available during summer time.
Love the oak trees. Lots of shade and parking. Washrooms are nice and clean. One longterm camper seems to be allowed to break the "no camping" rule, but nothing overly bothersome.
Tons of green space! Newly paved roads that will be great for rollerblading, lots of benches, picnic tables and shade. Playground is fairly large and located by a large parking lot. Didn't have a chance to go down the dip and up the hill to check out the dog park - next time.
Excellent park within a great city of St. Catharines. They have pavilions BBQ puts as well. Great place to relax on a sunny warm day. The trees give you that warm feeling of being up in Northern Ontario without the long drive through Toronto.
A beautiful large park. I actually prefer it in winter. Sections of it are maintained with grassy or shaded picnic areas, playground, dog park. Parking is plentiful but there are no amenities.
Great place to go train your dog. Get off the beaten path and head down the trails. The dog park is closed due to covid, but there dogs can still socialize out there. Also there's some fire pits and kids zone. So there's a lot to do if you bring your own fun!
A lovely getaway location in the middle of the city. There is enough parking space for the visitors, a nice playground, a dog play area and a picnic pavilion. The hiking path isn't that long but satisfactory. During winter months, the other side of the park is closed to vehicle traffic and walkways aren't maintained which is an extra advantage for kids.
My family and I have been coming here for years. The individual sites with the steel barbecue is a great spot for people to come together and enjoy the natural beauty that St. Catharines has to offer. There is always more than enough parking, tables space, and the park is well maintained.
It is sad, they used to have a nice trail going across the train tracks and it would lead to the houses across the tracks. You can still find the trail but it is way smaller, it used to be paved.
The landscape and large deciduous trees offer welcome shade on hot summer days. Unfortunately the city parks division responsible for maintenance and other standards such as providing ample fountains and picnic tables that are not disintegrating and are properly painted have not maintained expectations. Please urge the City to make improvements to basic standards
I just love this park. It has great trails to walk on. Some short trails and long trails. A nice big field to end up at to lay a blanket down to have a picnic or to use the picnic tables.
This is a great park for hikes and to being the kids. The pool is no longer here, however the playground is newer. There are bbq stations, bring your charcoal. There is also a place for dogs. If you feel adventurious then there are trails that are a bit more challenging. Great for larger group picnics.
A nice park, walking paths unfortunately only rather limited. Cleanliness, I realize that this is us and not necessarily the park, has some opportunities.
It was very nice, the trees provide a nice, natural shade and there are paths you can follow through the woods, just mind the tall grass, watch out for those ticks folks
