My mother is beyond happy with the care that this clinic put into her cat, Harley. They not only helped healed her fur baby, but they stepped up during an emergency and have called daily to check up on him and provide advice if needed. We would trust them again should another emergency occur. What an amazing clinic!

Burloak Animal Hospital provides an excellent level of care. The entire team is friendly and very welcoming. Dr. Hale was absolutely wonderful with our very nervous senior dog. She was very calming and empathetic, and made us all feel very well looked after. Thank you so much!

This vets office was so nice and caring. I came in with my rabbit as an emergency visit. His nose had such a serious cut and his poor nose was falling off. They took such care with my bun bun. Not only did they do an amazing job sewing up his injury, they really helped put me at ease. You can tell they really love animals and want to help. The compassion, I will never forget. If you ever need to take a pet to a vet, I highly recommend this vets office.

I have been to multiple vets for health issues with my Guinea pig and the team at Burloak Animal Hospital is unmatched. The veterinarians and vet techs are incredible! They really care about your pet as much as you do, it’s evident in the quality of care they provide. My boy Chewbacca is 5 years old and needs regular care on his teeth, and I wouldn’t trust any other team to care for him. Thank you Burloak Animal Hospital!

We have been taking our Hungarian Vizsla to the clinic now more than a year. Since then we have been receiving exemplary service from the clinic. All staff members and doctors are passionate about what they are doing. We never hesitated about their recommendations about the boy.

Apart from regular checks and vaccinations we had a couple of emergency situations and they have provided us with the confidence and solution we needed.

Even the toys recommended by Dr Hale are still his favorites. We took our dog to training academy that was referred by the clinic. They are involved in every stage of our dog's development from food selection to training, from toys to health.

For over 10 years we've been using this veterinary clinic for our budgie, guinea pigs and now our parrot and never felt we needed to go elsewhere. The staff is amazing, very knowledgeable, compassionate and accommodating. Dr. McKinnon is wonderful! Very kind, caring and professional. When our parrot, Mr. Gucci needs his nails clipped, my mom and I are always looking forward to the visit in the clinic, but can't say this about our parrot, lol. I have a little Pineapple Conure named Pineapple. We noticed he was regurgitating his food and had low energy. As soon as we arrived Dr. Hale took him inside to look at him. While he was inside Krystal walked us through paperwork and helped me calm down. Krystal and Dr. Hale were very loving, patient, compassionate and calming throughout our journey. They provided us followup throughout the day, called us, sent pictures to give me peace of mind.

Our dog got bite by another dog at the dog park and we were scrambling trying to find an emergency vet that was open. With no luck on the long weekend we called them and, despite being fully booked, they squeezed us in and provided such compassionate service. We really appreciate their effort, alongside their calm, and kind support.

They were so kind and caring and eased our fears over our lizard, George. Turns out we were doing good with him so now we r much happier. ️

Dr Hale and support staff all were wonderful. Experts in thier fields showed great patience and care with our fur baby girl Chloe as well as myself and spouse.

Brought my two turtles in for their very first vet visit. The staff was very welcoming and Dr. Kristyn Hale was very knowledgeable. Very happy about the care and all the follow up information I got to care for my two little guys. Highly recommend.

Every experience we’ve had with our dog here has been amazing. They are so caring and compassionate. It’s so evident that everyone that works there is in the right line of work and they truly love their jobs. I always leave feeling happy and they’re always going above and beyond to answer my questions. I have a fearful dog and they are always making it the most comforting experience for him and only doing what he can handle. I can’t say enough good things about the staff here and the way they operate.

You still need to hand your pet to a staff member outside the hospital.

Excellent veterinary. I’ve been taking my dog here since we got him 15 years ago and I’ve never had a complaint. Everybody there is pleasant and they do the utmost to keep animals calm and comfortable. Even when they already had their hands full with other emergencies at the end of the day, they remained opened and treated my dogs emergency.

I cannot say enough good things about this veterinary hospital. They have gone above and beyond with my two bunnies, making sure they got the best care. Communication is excellent, I was updated regularly while my bunnies were hospitalized for a day. While I've been unable to go into their office yet myself due to covid protocols, I can tell by how relaxed my bunnies are after any exams or treatment that their dedication to a low-stress environment for animals is absolutely working.
They are also wonderful with the owners of pets. Last year my sister's pet bird became greivously ill and we brought him to Burloak. When it became clear he wasn't going to make it they brought us into a quiet back room so she could say goodbye to him. While obviously still a devastating situation, the staff were wonderful and took such care with how everything was handled. So grateful to them for all that they did to make a very difficult time a little easier.

They’re great for any “exotic”pet needs.staff is super friendly and they usually will try to help you keep your budget.all in all i’d recommend them over any vet in the area.i wish they were a bit more upfront about their costs because our last bill was $250 over what we were told

I highly recommend! There's an exotic vet within 10 minutes of me but anytime I need a vet I'll always drive the almost hour to Burloak instead. I booked an appointment for my snake as a new patient due to an ongoing issue. When I later called with more concerns, the appointment was moved up and fit into the end of the day. Dr. McKinnon stayed over an hour after closing to thoroughly examined my snake, explain what could be done, and patiently answer my questions. They called me the next two mornings to check in. When the prescribed medication didn't solve the issue, we were booked for another appointment to try other options. Dr. Hale saw my snake and was also very thorough and patient. Everyone at Burloak is professional, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about all animals. I was very impressed and happy with the care my snake received. Thank you!

Wonderful clinic! Caring and compassionate doctors and staff. We've had a couple of emergencies with one of our cats and the service has been top notch. He's better than ever now. I recently had a sick bunny. I brought him to 2 different vets but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him so they suggested I bring him to Burloak Animal Hospital. Unfortunately my little guy had to be put down but Burloak was Extremely professional about everything that was going on. Great Responsiveness and Reliability. Unfortunately they left me very disappointed. I called them because my rattie was having a difficulty breathing and his body was cool when I arrived home from work. We rushed to them and left him with hope but I was really nervous about my rattie life. After one hour of waiting in the parking lot, I was histerical and decided to call them, as I didn't hear from them. I was told that "i'm a squeeze in appointment so I have to wait". My phone call helped though, as I received a phone call shortly from dr. Lisa McKinnon. She was talking VERY FAST and because I was nearly crying at that point, I had a hard time comprehending her words and theories from the beginning. She wasn't sure what caused my rattie to have such a difficulties breathing, so I explained what I've been told by my original vet and because I have a lot of expierence with rats and their health issuses I even suggested what can be done. Doctor finally decided on a course of treatment, with steroids, injection of diuretic and I was told that my rat need a trim on his teeth. 15mins later I received another call saying that she was unable to do the trim due to an excessive bleeding from the mouth (how the bleeding occurred I have NO IDEA, as I brought him without any issues). The staff informed ma that they cleaned him up nicely, we booked an appointment for next day for a trim and I went home. Upon arrival, I noticed that the bleeding is actually very bad, and as an educated rat owner (I knew that rats don't have a lot of blood) I decide he might not survive the night, so I made a quick decision to go to Guelph Campus Estate, as I have always recieved a proffesional help from them. When the doctor saw my rattie, he was surprised that I was not told to eutanize him at the Burloak A. H.and also that steroids can actually do more harm in his condition. So i made one of the hardest decision in my life and kissed my last rattie goodbye, as he begun the journey to the rainbow bridge. I'm devastaed after what happened to him in Burloak, basically the money spent for nothing and obviously I can't recommend this clinic to anyone with rats.

Absolutely amazing veterinarian clinics! You can tell they truly care about your animals and don't just want your money. They try very hard to accommodate your financial situation which I am so grateful for! There are so many veterinarians near me that I could literally drive to under 5 minutes but I'd much prefer drive 30 minutes to see them for my Mr. Bittens. I highly recommend them, they are the best veterinarians ever

Amazing as usual! So knowledgeable and trustworthy. I brought my African Sulcata for a check up, and I feel confident knowing that the staff there takes great care of her, looks out for her best interest and are experienced in exotic animals. I will continue to bring my tortoise there for all her needs and would highly recommend them!

I come from Toronto to this vet office. They genuinely care about the animals more than the business. The staff are all respectful and they are knowledgeable about rats in my experience. I trust them wholeheartedly. Thanks for taking care of my fur babies.

Took my daughter's bird and they were very knowledgeable and caring. Even during the pandemic they were fast and on time for appointments.

I was booked a month out which is fine, but then my appointment was cancelled 15 min after being parked and waiting in their parking lot for curbside service (it was during covid), and after two calls, one of which I was put on hold for close to 10 min.

I have been going to Burloak animal hospital for over 12 years. With all of my pets, from dogs, to bearded dragons to skinny pigs, I have always trusted Burloak with the care of my babies. They are honest, compassionate and just so amazing. The doctors are amazing, the vet staff are exceptional. I had moved out of the Oakville area for a few years but kept driving back to Burloak for all my furbabies need and primary care. I don’t often write reviews, but they deserve 10 stars! Margaret, Kandis, Torie and all the Burloak staff are so welcoming and kind. THEY TRULY CARE!
A special shout out to Dr. McKinnoon, Dr. Garcia and Dr. Hale who helped me get through losing my two boys within a span of 9 months. They went above and beyond and I will be forever thankful.

I am delighted with the care and attention.that was given to my two parrots. I was able to obtain an appointment that worked for me and felt valued from the minute I arrived. The vet did a comprehensive checkup and gave me excellent suggestions on how to provide the best care for my 20+ year old parrots.

They take such good care of my rabbit Jasper. We go in for regular nail trimmings and Burloak Animal Hospital goes above and beyond everytime!
Last time, we found Jasper baddly injured a nail. I had to run to work and was worried about it bleeding again and leaving him alone. They offered to hold onto him to monitor him, and I pick him up later.
Not only did they cut his nails, they took care of his injury, and kept him for 3 hours.
So when I went to cash out I expected a boarding fee, vet visit, etc etc. But NO! Just a nail trimming charge!
They obviously really care about our pets' well being and just wanted me and my pet to be happy.
Most recent visit, I asked for them to check a few extra things, and the same outcome happened.
They take their time, are very thorough, and reasonably priced.

I have been going to Burloak for many years. The staff are wonderful and caring. We always feel they are treating our cat as if it was their own.

Best experience with "Bunny Care" for all 3 of my bunnies. They were neutered, and spayed and healed quickly, and were taken very good care of. Love the staff as they are truly so helpful, and all so friendly. They have a TRUE love of all animals. It is an amazing place to take your pets. Dr. McKinnon you are truly AMAZING! My bull terrier mix has been a regular at Burloak Animal Hospital since he was a little ball of white fluff 5 years ago and loves the place. The staff are genuinely caring and want only the best for their patients. The vets are honest and give their unbiased professional opinions on your pet care. Amazing staff, very caring and helpful, it was a sad visit for my daughter as her rabbit died in her arms, but the staff were so thoughtful and caring.

One of my turtles was acting different, the initial vet I took him to didn’t have any answers. I came here and the doc gave us a proper diagnoses of my turtle being blind. With this diagnosis we were able to give him different living conditions that met his needs to live a happy life. Thank you.

While they were alive we took our two gecko's here for care, the animal hospital was always very good and followed up with us. Can't say enough good things about Kandis here, literally allowed us to keep our feisty chihuahua Foxy.

Foxy recently had some kind of stomach issue (blood in her stool) and the kind Dr. Garcia came back to help us out and give us some food to help her stomach, and sat with us to explain everything. I believe that we have worked with all the vets there at some point in the past 5 years, and we have always been satisfied with the service.

My little Mugs (Syrian Hamster) had an accident that cause me to be in a panic. Walking into Burloak Animal Hospital with no vet visit experience, a new pet and being emotionally all over the place I didn’t know if I’d get someone to see her or not.
Everyone from the time I walked in to leaving were so wonderful and accommodating. I couldn’t have picked a better place to help Mugs. They understood me and my reason for bringing her, they did a full check and talked me through everything. Everyone was sweet and I would recommend anyone thinking of using them to go ahead and do it. 10/10 and my Mugs thanks you too. ️
