Such a nice venue and a true theatre experience. The only challenge is the layout makes it difficult to get around because concession lines snake across the lobby and up the stairs.
Beautiful theatre with mesmerizing architecture. The staff there are very kind and helpful which showing you to your seat. The lines for the bar can be long depending on the show so I recommend doing a pre-order to help minimize that as we spent the whole 20 minute intermission in line. Otherwise the theatre is amazing with no bad seats to be found
I am very disappointed with my experience before the show even started, as the view of some seats (and not the cheapest ones btw!) is partially blocked.
I think it is a bit dishonest to continue to sell seats for which a bar cuts the views in two halves.
My sister and I went to see The Temptations. From any point in the theatre you had a great view. The seats were comfortable and lots of leg room. The show was amazing. Best show I’ve seen a long time. There was underground parking right across the road.
I've had the pleasure of attending several productions at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre, with the most recent being the spectacular Harry Potter production. This historic venue never fails to impress, & I can confidently say it's one of the best theatres in downtown Toronto.
The seating at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre is simply amazing, & there truly isn't a bad seat in the house. Whether you're up close or in the balcony, the view is fantastic, providing an immersive experience for every member of the audience.
The sound quality in this theatre is exceptional, a crucial factor when enjoying musicals like Harry Potter. The clarity & richness of the audio enhance the overall theatrical experience, making it a treat for the senses.
One aspect that consistently contributes to the positive atmosphere is the friendly & helpful staff. In all my visits, I've never encountered an unpleasant staff member. Their positive energy adds to the enjoyment of the overall experience, creating a welcoming environment for theater goers.
Located right in the heart of downtown Toronto, the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre's central location is convenient but comes with a parking challenge. While there isn't dedicated parking for the theatre, various Green P parking lots & other paid options are available nearby. For an efficient and stress-free journey, I recommend using the Go Train & TTC subway to reach the venue.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre to anyone seeking a top-notch theatrical experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this venue offers a memorable & enjoyable time, especially if the performance aligns with your interests.
We were visiting Toronto and decided to take in a show! Chicago was great, fabulous cast and orchestra and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The theatre itself is small but really beautiful. The staff were friendly and efficient and intermission drinks could be pre-ordered to save time. The only downside was the washrooms, not the state of them, they were lovely, but the number. The queues were horrendous! Other than that, our experience was wholly positive and we would definitely recommend a visit!
First timer at CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre. It was easy to spot with the help of Maps. I like the feel of vintage theatre it provides. They have ushers helping people to their seats. Boyfriend who was 6ft tall says there was enough legroom for to wiggle around, but for short people it’s a little disadvantaged when you’re seating at the back of someone taller. I also commend that they have a personnel assisting in the bathrooms cause come intermission, the lines for female bathrooms get insane but the line was moving fast so I didnt mind the little wait. Prices for food and drinks were reasonable. Love Kernels popcorn. Boyfriend suggested if maybe they could add more urinals in the male’s bathroom, other than would love to come back and watch here again.
The show was great. The view of the stage was good even in the upper seats. Staff was friendly the line moved quickly. Preshow the area was exceptionally crowded until the doors to seating opened which is my only complaint.
Chicago, the show was superb, the theater is beautiful, and the ushers are efficient. We were sitting at Rear Mezzanine Row S, seat 144, and the glare from the steps light at Row P was so powerful in the dark that it was blinding us and disturbing our sight/vision during the show. It needs a top cover.
Great experience at the theater to enjoy Chicago. Brilliant performance and really fabulous wine and snacks while watching! Love the staff who were super customer service oriented! Thanks
We were seated in the mezzanine level to see Chicago and there was a big gold handrail right in the middle of our view. We had to bend down to see the actors dance and sing. Apparently $100 still gets you awful seats. They should replace the handrail with plexiglass so at least people can see through it.
