CACAO 70 Eatery

I had high hopes for Cacao 70 as a chocolate lover, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. The glass that I was served had a lipstick mark on it, which was a clear sign that it wasn't properly washed. The crepe that I ordered was overcooked and crispy on one side, which was disappointing. To top it all off, the atmosphere was loud and hectic due to the employees banging things and using loud machines, which made it difficult to hold a conversation. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

As someone with celiac disease I expected that I wouldn't be able to have anything other than a drink but the staff were incredibly accommodating. My friends ordered fondue (which had brownies and waffles containing gluten on the side) and to avoid cross-contamination, the staff gave me my own chocolate fondue and two separate bowls of fresh fruit to dip. It was great. I did not get a stomachache after so I think there was no gluten or cross contamination at all.

While it seems that mostly all of the food items have gluten, this is one safe and delicious option. Thank you to the staff for being so helpful.

Thank you Cacao 70 Lansdowne for having us. We had a blast. Place is much cleaner with the new owner, prices are reasonable and affordable.food was delicious and we couldn’t finish our portions we had some of it to go. So lot’s of food for the price. Great presentation of the dishes. Loved the chocolate decoration on the deserts being served.
Staff went out of their way and took there time to accommodate our special requests.
I always forget to post reviews but in this case. My family and I truly believe that they deserve a lot more stars. There was so much food, we had the leftovers to go and had desert the next day at home. I loved the fresh smell! C’est une place très propre et fortement recommandée!

Wow, impressed. The quality of food and the service were amazing. Went there on a Friday night with couple of friends, I mean with all the rush our deserts came out very fast and let me tell you everything was super fresh! The waffles are so fluffy! The chocolate is just AMAZING! Prices are affordable for the quality of food that you get and the portions are also HUGE! Much recomended!

Great place for brunch. Went there on Sunday morning to celebrate our mom’s birthday. The place was clean and quiet. Not busy at all. The food was served relatively fast. Everything tasted good! From everything that we tried, none of the dishes disappointed. Their drinks selection is fair, but their latte was not the best. For $6 you can get a much better cup of latte somewhere else tbh. Otherwise, they great at what they are advertised as.
Everyone at the table absolutely loved the experience!

The strawberry cheesecake crepe is scrumptious and our waiter Youssef was lovely! Will definitely be back and reccommend this location to anyone looking to satisfy their sweet tooth

I dont recommend this place. They didnt let me to sit at the table I wanted although the place was 80% empty. The desserts were way too expensive. I paid $15 for a small slice of cheesecake. You could get such a slice for no more than $7.5 anywhere in Ottawa. Dont ruin your day! Just stay away from this place.

Presentation of plates are good, quality isn’t really there and the menue is a bit overpriced. Overall my nephew liked it. I gave it 4 stars because staff weren’t ’t very attentive to customers, they forgot our orders

It's expensive but it's good They have some pretty good fondue It's definitely a place where they concentrate on chocolate dips

I ordered American style hot chocolate and Cacao 70 cheesecake. The hot chocolate was so so so so so sweet. I wasn't able to intake so many calories.

Cheesecake was okayish.

This place is awful. By far the worst service and quality in the city. My daughters and I, laughed at how incredibly bad both the service was and the food. Being the only table in the place, we were treated like and inconvenience, the "chef" rolled her eyes and looked put out to have to do her job.

The staff is racist. They literally gave us plastic cups for water and each and every other customer had glass. They even refused to give us cutlery as we had a birthday cake with us. They were constantly staring us. It was the worst experience of my entire life
