It's been several years since I last visited Cafe Amore because I live in Costa Rica and operate a hotel and restaurant there.

What a surprise to walk in and find the restaurant so beautifully appointed!

Our server, Logan, was both personable and knowledgeable about the menu. He attended our table in a timely fashion to take orders, deliver the food, and clear the table. The food was incredible! We met the pizza maker Xavier, who prepared the BEST prosciutto, arugula pizza I have ever tasted. The wood oven style of cooking allowed for a perfect pizza!

We were 6 people, and the bill was very fairly priced. It was a fabulous place for a family night out!

Emily was fantastic. We will ask for her again next time. She is pleasant, took the time to chat with us and made us feel like family, not just a number. She is a fantastic server and we loved our experience (and always love the food)!

Awful, just awful.
We went for a quick lunch as we had not been in a while. First if you want to enjoy a quiet conversation, that will be impossible due to the high ceilings. The noise does not make it possible to having any conversations across the tables.
Garden salad was presented with cherry tomatoes not halved. Tried to pierce them with the fork first, unsuccessful, having two bounce off the table and roll on the floor.
Entree - Shrimp caprese. $24.00.6 shrimp look like they came from a shrimp ring from Sobeys, tough, the end piece still on. The sauce was vinegary and did not stick to the fettucini.
Waitress was rude. This restaurant is amateur time. All I can say is it's easy to please the people from St catharines, in any other city this dump would be out of business

Our server was absolutely hilarious - dry sense of humor with sarcasm and we loved every minute of it. Food was good but nothing I'd write home about. The atmosphere where we sat was beautiful. It was a corner booth with hanging string lights above us, very private. We didn't ask for that but it was perfect for sharing and celebrating some very delightful news.
If you've ever gone here long ago, the Environment has changed drastically. It is much more private and has great ambience. Highly recommend you try it out. Great pasta dishes!

Cafe Amore has been around for decades and the quality has remained consistently outstanding. From Apps to Entres, Desserts and Drinks, this is a culinary destination you want to miss!

Imo shrimp tails should only be left on if the dish was designed to have the consumer use their fingers. I had the shrimp and crab penne and the shrimp tails were left on the shrimp, making it a bit awkward to eat in front of other people. Simply cutting the tails off the shrimp before cooking them would solve this issue for me, but I am not a cook, and don't understand why the tails were left on. Maybe there is a reason for leaving them on? I don't know.

Food was excellent
Service was not. In a hurry and didn't fill water. Seemed distracted.

We had a table of 10 and everyone enjoyed their meals, fire oven pizzas were great. Service was also very good however they had too many fruit flies!

My husband and I tried cafe amore for the first time tonight celebrating our anniversary. Service was fantastic and so was the food. It was a nice touch writing happy anniversary on our dessert plate and lighting it up with a sparkler. We will definitely return!

One of my favourite places to eat. Food is made in house which is a big deal in quality IMO. Atmosphere and service are also great. Every time I take someone there, they really enjoy it.

Always amazing food, great friendly service. The owner always comes over to check on you, so nice to see that he cares about his guest experience. Beautiful romantic atmosphere

Very cool place with a nice wood fired brick oven that u just can’t go wrong. One of the best pizzas in the Niagara region!

Currently enjoying an afternoon meal, already felt moved to write a review. I was seated in a position with my back to a busy pass through. Asking to be reseated due to hypervigilance and anxiety affecting my experience, they handled my situation with great care. Immediately relocated me to a seat where I can see the room with nothing behind me. No fuss, they did not make me feel embarrassed whatsoever. One staff member kindly related to me, then opened light conversation which put me at ease. Completely accommodating, very kind staff. Food is also great. Quality reflects the prices.

For years this has been my favourite place to go for a nice supper. My grandchildren loved it. Having said that the last 3x we have been there was a disappointment. Not with the food it has always been amazing, but the service staff are horrible. The last time I went the hostess actually asked out loud …. Does anyone want a table? I felt like I was intruding on them. I took my grandchildren there to celebrate their graduation and the waitress was rude and let’s just say absent. I realize I sound like I and being critical, but it was actually terrible. This was my last visit.

Thank you for the wonderful dining experience we had this evening. Your pizza was delicious, as was the steak gorgonzola, and our waiter was also outstanding. You be have given me added incentive to go to the gym tomorrow!:)

This gem is now our new go-to Italian restaurant since moving to St. Catharines from Waterloo. Everything about this place is remarkable!

Excellent experience! The spinach-artichoke dip is so good we could have just ate those all night but we ordered the paella for two and were wowed by the size, taste and presentation. It come with garden salads so fresh they must have a garden out back. It’s our new favourite and can’t wait to bring friends and try the rest of the menu.

Went here with a friend and my 2 children. The food was good but for the price the portions were not up to par especially ordering the "jumbo" shrimp bc it was fairly small.

Wonderful tasty chicken Alfredo and 4 cheese Cajun chicken linguini. Large portions, lots of chicken delicioso! Bravo!

Love Cafe Amore a great little restaurant great Italian Vibe with the atmosphere they have created.good value.have great food would support and recommend any time and don't forget the exceptional service

This was our 2nd visit and again it didn't disappoint. The flavors are amazing and you never leave disappointed or hungry

Pasta is incredible and portions are huge. The lighting is overbearing though. They need dimmers.

Fantastic dinner with friends, was waited on by Logan who was friendly, knowledgeable and provided great service.even coming back with the parm when we were half way through to re-cheese! Calamari was EXCELLENT as was the saganaki, everyone loved their pasta dishes which all came with a starter salad. Great value for money, will be back for sure!

Great Italian spot in St Catharines. I always come and try eat here when I am in town. Their wood fired oven pizzas are fantastic.

We were there for Sunday lunch and had a wonderful experience. Great vibe, food, and service. A little on the pricey side once we added drinks and dessert, but not enough to keep us from coming back.
The charcuterie board is a clear winner for value, quality, and selection of items!
Highly recommended.

Wow! Really great Italian food. Cesar salad with oil based dressing, Seafood stuff mushrooms, Poseidon's Pasta loaded with mussels, clams and scallops.

The chocolate mousse cheesecake and strawberry shortcake were devine.

We've ordered the family size 3 cheese Cajon and chicken penne several times. One of our families favorite take out dinners.
Last time the owner even through in a few pieces of amazing cheese cake desserts for us for our anniversary. 5 stars for service and food.

Picked up takeout because of the great reviews and the food was amazing! Edit: Went back recently to eat in and again the food was delicious! I’ve been craving it ever since. Everyone working there was super nice and service was fast. I don’t remember the names of what we had but I think it was the crab and shrimp pasta and the Steak Gorgonzola pasta.

Great atmosphere and decor. Service is excellent. Owner popped by our table to ask how everything was. The food was delicious. Generous portions. Another for the repeat list.

Absolutely horrible service! My husband ordered steak asked for it medium rare the steak was well done he ordered wine got his drink at the end of his meal … there was no napkins or utensils at our table for our kids the server never came by to see if we needed anything! Can’t really blame her they were busy the owner should have more servers working on a busy night we waited ten minutes for two forks and napkins absolutely ridiculous…. (I will say my chicken Parmesan was pretty good regardless we won’t be coming back!

Went with my wife tonight and asked for a table for two, was asked if I had a reservation and said no then the hostess played on her tablet and said I have a table but need it for 730pm, we laughed and said no problem it was 515pm and we said well yes we will be out of here easily, she never once looked up at us and kept playing on her tablet for at least 10 minutes and I said to my wife I am hungry if they don’t have a place let’s go and she continued to tap and she said I am seeing if I can work it out… why say this when you already said you had a table five minutes ago? Strange.this is St Catharines not Toronto and it’s cafe amore.tell us yes or no.such a strange vibe from a hostess.not the usual from the home town local restaurant we supported during covid, we left and went to Coppolas and had an amazing meal.very disappointed in the hostess’ behaviour.not sure we will be back.so much for treating your patrons with respect…. Perhaps look at your staff you have greeting your patrons Cafe Amore.: (

My husband and I enjoy this restaurant, we have never been disappointed. The food is fresh and well prepared. I myself enjoy cooking and that is why I can appreciate the quality. Our server was very genuine and prompt. The owner is always present out in the dining area making sure everything is running smooth. And he is not afraid to give a helping hand.

We ordered a seafood rice dish.they forgot to put the order in.we waited almost an hour.the owner came and apologized put a rush on the order.we left there with full bellies.a very generous host! He didn't charge us for food or drinks. And the food was delicious we finished our meal with a salted caramel cake and cappuccino and had very happy tummies.

Took my dad and his partner here for Father’s Day and we enjoyed every part of our meal.

The crab and shrimp Alfredo was probably my favourite! Got it with Angel Hair and it was absolutely perfect

Will be returning to try more from the menu!

Have got the family dinners here recently, just delicious and tons of food for the price. My favorite is the four cheese Cajun. We have dined here since the beginning and the staff and owners are always so nice. However last night while picking up our take out order for Mother's Day, my husband was so upset with the rudeness shown to the staff who were running off their feet. Everyone knows Mother's Day is probably the busiest days of the year. Pickup was running late, customers were to told wait in your cars and we'll bring it to you. A certain amount of people chose to stand in the rain, complain and express their displeasure and rudeness to the hard working staff. It was really disturbing to watch. In these trying times, everyone is trying to do their best and restaurants are struggling to stay afloat. Relax and have a little patience people. I'm sure the ladies would have rather been sitting down with their own families instead of serving rude people. Cafe Amore staff you do a great job and we appreciate you!

To be continued. Have recently found out that on the Skip app where it says "Contribute Now"? Meaning tip the restaurant? The restaurant (and I've spoken to several restaurants). They do NOT receive the contributions (not speaking of skip driver tips) as well, a lady from Skip the Dishes responded and verified right off that yes.the restaurants themselves do NOT receive ANY contributions that we, that eat their yummy and delicious food.the money we offer up as much earned, needed tips for restaurant workers.really on the frontline.to keep our community going.restaurants are not getting these funds/contributions.even after we say whats its for.not now, not ever! It goes to Skip the Dishes! Hello? Why didn't we see this coming? Tonite after a lengthy discussion on the phone with a Skip CS.she was a genuine kind heart. She looked into the contributions I made recently then kindly issued a substantial refund for this (I thought) right away, called my 2 favorite restaurants and tried to rectify, just a little.paid them back! Almost half in half.they both were so happy (felt personally happy inside) Skip didn't like that so they out of the blue cancelled my order (ordered from 2 different tonight, Johnny Roccos and Cafe Amore. Skip, after 3 calls, one hangup, one text, are arguing that the money put towards my account is for the cancelation (made AFTER I had already called the restaurants and repaid their tips), which I never did (cancel)! They cancelled my order from Cafe Amore. The sweet African lady from Skip, who helped me positively, understood me, even with the language barrier.better than most from Skip (except the voice on the phone). Thought I got back the contributions to give back to the restaurants but no.they took it out of my cancelled order that I didn't cancel! Please, Do NOT spend money on skip the dishes! Many restaurants. Cafe Amore, Johnny Roccos Frescos, many many others are struggling! Call them, deal with them personally forget about the 3rd party.you WILL be rewarded! They NEED us. We love this place. The food is absolutely amazing, and the prices are far less than equivalent restaurants. Highly recommended trying it

These guys do an amazing chacuterie board and fabulous pizza. Can't wait to try all the rest of the goodies on their menu

We ordered 10 meat balls and the Quattro Formaggi and they were both amazing! The pizza was so cheesy and delicious and the meatballs taste great cold as leftovers.

I dont usually post about things. However the best hidden jem in the Niagara region. Best bang for ur buck as well. Service was on point.

I ate at this resturant years ago. The food was just ok, but the service wasn't up to par. Only because of the poor service I received back then - I will not be returning.

Went there on a Friday with 2 other families and it was crowded. You better get a reservation. The food was very good. The paella was too spicy for my taste but the pasta was splendid. I also tried a "Carnes" pizza that was delicious. The environment was nice and the service was fine. Overall it deserves a 4.5 stars for me but since there is not such ranking I'll upgrade it to 5. Recommended.

Cafe amore is a fantastic experience. Mediteranaian food, with great service and atmosphere. Good value for great food. If you are looking for a relaxing environment with fantastic experience, then you are looking for cafe amore.

Great food, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere. Have done a lot of takeout and feel there is a lot of value!

The quality and the flavour of the food is remarkable. Their desserts are out of this world. My hubby and I especially like the Carrot Cake and Super Caramel Crunch Cake.

My company insists on having our Christmas party here every year. Although they accommodate food allergies they are unprepared to handle large parties. Having staff shout who ordered a Coke? Who ordered a Caesar salad? While you are trying to have a conversation is not just unacceptable but also unprofessional. Not to mention that my coworker waited twenty minutes for her meal to arrive because she requested mashed potatoes instead of pasta. Mashed was an option available so this wasn't an over the top request. Other times I have been here the server has complained about how tired or in pain she is. I will only return if I do not have a choice. Two stars since tomato allergy accommodation at Mediterranean restaurant.

What a beautiful spot to have lunch. The atmosphere is so unique and understated. We ordered the tuscan chicken sandwich and the roasted garlic alfredo with the caesar salad to start. The salad and alfredo were fantastic and while I thought my sandwich was dry, I did decide to have the mushrooms removed so that may have been my fault for leaving out the juicy part; still a beautiful presentation though. Our waitress was fun and very accommodating. We'll be back soon!

Recently poped in and enjoyed our meals! I seen some new stuff on the menu too. The mardi grad pasta was tasty!

Great food, Great Ambience, and couldn't ask for more when it comes to Mediterranean cuisine, and for special occasions like my wedding this past October, went above and beyond expectations.

Their menu gives plenty of options and the food is delicious. Busy place which is a good sign. Great number of desserts to choose from.

Our first visit to Cafe Amore was over a year ago for our anniversary and the food was delicious, the service AMAZING! A year later celebrating a special night, the service AMAZING, the food. UNACCEPTABLE!
I ordered a steak.medium rare, which arrived at the table BURNT BLACK with sauce on it. One bite tasted like eating burnt Oak. The Chef actually plated a burnt black steak, topped it with sauce and proudly served it. REALLY!
My wife ordered chicken Souviaki on a skewer.the red peppers were BURNT, and the chicken was dry.
The manager began to explain the teqnique of cooking souviaki on Skewers and the vegetables can get charred. NO! The chicken was cooked TOO LONG, HENCE burning the peppers! Very UNPROFESSIONAL! Her ceasar salad had no bacon and NO ceasar dressing.
Top it all off.after having two plates returned to him BURNT and inedible, the chef waved to us as we were leaving, which speaks volumes of his culinary skills being ACCEPTABLE by management/owner. WORST MEAL EVER!
This Chef would have trouble cooking hotdogs!

Always a great atmosphere with a wonderful dessert selection. Always a recommendation for a good night out.
