Cafe Zauq Takeout & Catering

Very poor customer service. Food is ALWAYS late. Having to wait 35 minutes for 5 naans. That’s unacceptable given I ordered over the phone for pickup and still had to wait when I got there. Food quality is mediocre but the naans are good - mainly because they are from the tandoor made fresh.

Tried Zauq after a couple of years. I can truly say it was a big disappointment.

The quality of food and service has tanked drastically.

Ordered a Chicken Tikka roll. During late afternoon, 3pm ish, I was told it would take 30 mins to prep. Considering I was running chores, wasn't a big deal. However after arriving past 35 minute marks from order time, I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for 1 roll.

There seemed to be a lot of staff at the restaurant however they all seemed to be running around with no direction.

Food - Super oily pratha roll with stale chicken Tikka and super spicy. I tolerate a lot of spice but this was in edible. For $14, that was a slap in the face.

Ordered 6 pieces of lollipop chicken only to find around 8-10 pieces.

Overall, really poorly prepared food, lost staff, ended up with stomach ache. Never to be repeated again.

Note to management - hire people that actually care about food and service. This used to be a gem in Milton. No longer the case.

It was really good experience food was very delicious. And the staff is also very cooperative and the girl at front end sandeep do very well job treat the customers in well manner

I ordered chicken roll, it was okay but it had too much of salt in it. I could not finish it all.hope zauq management will look into this and prepare the chicken roll in better way.

Ordered only 10 Naans (phone order pickup). I was told it will take 20 minutes as they are busy with catering order. Instead of 20, I got to restaurant after 30 minutes for my pickup. When I got there, I noticed only one person in the front taking phone orders as well serving customers. I stood there good 15 minutes before the employee even asked why I was there? I mentioned I called in for 10 Naans, She nodded and went in the back. She returned in the front and said nothing to me and carried on her other work. I stood there for another 10 minutes before I walked away. Horrible customer service. This location has gone to gutter. Not worth spending hard earned money here when other options are available in the area.

Well it's again Cafe Zouq @Milton today and as always never a disappointment

Not sure what happened to the service here. Maybe a management change because the current service always messes up our catering order, doesn’t properly provide catering service, and the staff is unprofessional with their handeling of customer orders. We always ask for pulao (veal or chicken) for our Saturday dinner parties and although they are catering, they are never able to make it over the weekend. Sometimes they tell us they will have pulao ready and then hand us biryani saying ‘they accidentally gave our order to someone else’. Recently, we had the same back and forth with them and in the end ordered chicken biryani only for the biryani to be veal! Not only that, but it was obviously not fresh. We had so much left after our dinner party and no one at home wants to eat it. A very dishonest and disorganized business. Be careful when ordering catering from here.

Fantastic place for Indian and Pakistani food. Prices are very reasonable. Their Chicken 65 is the best!

I did catering for 40 people on 24th of Dec, and CAFE ZAUQ food was excellent. All my guest loved their Chicken Biryani, Chicken Karahi, Bagarey Baingan and the Tandoori Chicken. The service by a Beautiful girl named Kamal was extremely Good. I will definitely recomend everyone to order food from Cafe Zauq and specially see Kamal for exceptional service. The taste was very authentic for everything I got. KEEP IT UP GUYS.

Zauq is THE BEST of it's kind in the Town of Milton by far. It's always fresh and delicious. Staff are very friendly.

First time visited the restaurant and Food was delicious. It was confusing as there was a variety of food but Kamal helped me out. She knows very well about how to deal with customer.

The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, spicy and the portions are huge for a good price. I always get the shrimp curry and naan and it’s perfect every time.

Today we ordered Nihari and Naan and I must tell you it was amazing. Service was excellent and fast. Highly recommend this place.

We recently arranged a small wedding anniversary party for 40 people and ordered a food, food came before anticipated time, food items and quantity was great than expected, everyone loved the food especially nicely cooked biryani, lollipop chicken. It was great experience as we live in east end and food all the way came from Milton. We were bit skeptical but cafe taken care of everything. Thank you guys for making our small party great.

The past weekend went and got breakfast puri combos, once home found a mousquito in the halwa, called the resturant to complain, although they refunded what I had paid, they were very casual about the whole thing, found that to be very disturbing.

Food is great no doubt. The issue lies within in communication from owners and coordinators that organize large catering.

The owner never mentioned to us we had to pay a $500 fee to have to of us staff come to fry the appetizers at the venue. The food and the appetizers came out cold. Lies is what they’ll tell you.

Very disappointed in the service provided by this company.

Got butter chicken and biriyani rice. Unfortunately butter chicken was absolutely freezer cold and biryani rice was cold as well.
If you go there, may be asked how long ago the food was made.

I'm writing this review with heavy heart.
Been a customer for several years.
Lately noticed that quality of food and staff behavior is sliding down.
We ordered lamb biryani small tray last Sunday.
At least 4 of our family members complained about bad smell.
Rice was okay but the meat was smelly and old.
I also ordered a lamb biryani single order.
Instead received chicken biryani.
Called the owner and his manager promptly responded.
With apologies he offered full refund the next day.
However next day the female attendant was presented with smelly biryani and chicken biryani with receipt showing lamb biryani. Her response was very dissatisfying. Refused full refund.
Promised a return call within one to two days.
No call received until now it's the 3rd day completed.
Owner should pay attention to secure goodwill of the business.
I'm really upset with the product and response.
These comments are only given on good faith, a warning to the management to check the quality of food and customer service.

Really Authentic PAKASTANI FOOD! ; If you love spicy food, this is one of the Place. AS soon you enter, the AROMA OF SPICES, quickly catch your attention.

Staff was friendly and courteous!
Reasonable price, and presentation of Food is also Great.

Got their chicken briyani which was good quantity for the price, but the rice tasted a little dry like it was sitting out for a while. The girl just handed me a container from the back so I assume it was just sitting their.

Great service and delicious food, got catering done for 20 people and everyone liked the food; highly recommended!

I order over the phone. After waiting for 30 minutes I got the wrong order & instead of making it right they argue and told me to pay for the wrong order and offering me discount for next one. When I refuse to accept and left that place. I got a call from them instead of apologizing they accepted that they misunderstood the order but again still offered me the same wrong order with 50% discount. I’ll never go back to this shop or recommend anybody. They should apologize and make the right order. I hadn’t gone to their shop for discount. They have NO respect for the customers at all.

This is the second time I ate their food at a wedding in last few months. I have to say they use good quality meat. I have not seen that big portions of fried fish for appetizer.
The unfortunate part is both times the food was cold. I did not feel it was safe for them to serve the food. People pay a hefty price and they need to do a better job keeping food hot. I can tell the chef has done a good cooking food.
There are only hand full of caterers who use good quality product and Zauq has taste and quality. They need to step up in serving food hot. Don't make excuses that the event was delayed and the food got cold.

13 November 2021 Halwa puri was excellent very good service and staff was very polite and friendly I went at 1200 noon and in 15 minutes my order was ready fresh.
Puri was really great halwa was too good.

Not consistency in food quality. It’s hit and trial sometimes good and other times poor quality.

I bought saag gosth which looked old, lady said it came 1 hour back but I found out after coming home that meat was so hard and very old. I had to throw the box.

Not worth going to this place again.

Portions are laughable. Got 2pcs of butter chicken in my dinner combo. It was tasty but not worth the price.
I would have given it a 5 star but.

Extremely horrible experience screwing up a home event order for me at their Milton take out. Ordered well in advance, the same day, with confirmed delivery time BUT they ran out of the items having sold them to other customers. Person who took the order, causally admitted too much of work for 4 of the people working and they forgot and ran out of the items. I bet they ever do that to Uber or Skip but only to the regular customers! Service of chaos!

Just ordered chicken corn soup and it is worst ever I have had in my life. The soup is made with plain water and not in chicken stock. Want to share some pictures but there is no option.

Mr Ali arranged the dinner & service at the wedding of my son in Lion Head Golf Club.
Words can't express the food quality & service provided by the team. The bride family especially came to have Haleem the next day, which I had to order again. Everyone loved the food. I am having my second sons wedding functions from Zauq too.

I just recently moved to milton and had some guest coming over. Needed to pick up some add on items to serve. So I picked up a pound of Lahori fish, 2 pounds of lollipop chicken, chicken patties and some chicken samosas. All of the items were great. Service was good I was a bit confused on where the line started and where to place the order but nothing much to remove any stars. I will return and try the other items

Zouq used to be a tasty restaurant but not any more. I bought mix grill, Naan, poori paratha and Tikka. Naan took more time than expected and that's why it was burnt. Not all items were available in the grill and some of the items were burnt. First thing they do is get you pay the bill and let you wait. Even though if you order online. They also increase the price on most of the item but they decrease the food quality big time. I will not come here again next time.

Selling pulao rice in the name of Biryani - Smell and take like Palao even the chicken is not cleaned (skin was not removed).

I ordered my food using uber app and they are taking more then hour for preparing my order and when I called them they said they are waiting for driving infact driver was there and He already told me that tbey are still preparing your order. Seriously, I will never gonna order here again such a worst service.

Literally some of the best desi food I’ve ever had. The biryani and nihari were incredible. The restaurant is also gorgeous, great for pictures and get-togethers. Our server Nawaz was also incredibly hospitable, quick with service, and funny too! Definitely coming back!

I would 100% recommend this restaurant.
We ordered 2 briyani servings and a pound of lahori fish. The taste was amazing and most importantly the briyani portion was very generous. Me and my wife shared one serving and were content, saved the other portion for the next day.
Extremely satisfying experience. I give their food a 9/10 (cant give 10/10 as that is only reserved for my mom's and wife's cooking.seriously, i am blessed الحمد لللہ)

Unacceptable customer service! Ordered food from the location for a dinner for guests a week in advance and confirmed the order about 3 times. Still the order was late on the actual day and still messed up the order as they gave us the wrong item. Unacceptable after confirming the order again and again. When I called and complained they wanted me to drive half an hour back to their location to pick up the correct item and hence make me late for our dinner but were completely unwilling to spend a few $$ to deliver the correct item via an uber or taxi to provide some decent customer service!

Tasteless take out this evening. It was our first time ordering from this place and we did not know what to expect. The food was so bad we decided to throw it in the garbage after only a few bites. Spent $60 on dinner and only ate the fries. We were not satisfied with any of the dishes as there was no flavour. The kabob was hard and to tough to chew and they forgot the naan, the noodles were just bland, the fish had no spices and were so-oily. My stomach is not going to thank me tomorrow. Not sure how they are in still in business.

Starters are good. But the curries are very highly priced. I found the rates more than in any 5-star restaurant. After paying for diamonds u get under cooked food. Again starters are good, but watch ur wallet.

We ordered food from Zauq for a family and friends picnic today and the food was delicious. The quantity was good and the guest were very happy with the food. Thank you for the lovely service. Will definitely recommend you to others.

I tried Chicken Biryani last night, it was the best, very fresh and very delicious. Also timing and packing was very good.

Zauq is our goto place for authentic Desi taste.
We ordered Nihari and bihari kabab through skip the dishes and it was delicious. Our family loved it and kids devoured everything on their plate:)
I wish bihari kabab were cooked tad bit longer, other than that everything was perfect. Food and naans were fresh and warm. Salad and raita was included and complementary dessert. Gulab jamun was sooo good. Thank you.

If my reviews were based on food alone this place would get 4 out of 5 stars. The service on the other hand is subpar. If you are a first time customer, there isn’t a clear indication of which direction you line up. I’ve hear people complaining about wait times, they had ordered their food 6 hours in advance and they still go and wait another 30 minutes.

I believe the place had some renovations and it looks okay, not sure what it looked like before. If you like Indian/Pakistani food then try it out but if you don’t like waiting or disorganization then go elsewhere.

I love the Biryani and the Haleem. Service is quick and it’s great value for money. If you want great Pakistani food in Milton, this is the place to go.

They are currently open for takeout only.we came here on Christmas Eve and it was actually very busy with other patrons lining up for their takeout orders. I really like the use of their online ordering system because it made it very efficient to see how much our cost would be and we were able to put in what time the order was going to be ready at. The food is delicious and varied. I highly recommend you trying out their Manchurian dishes since you can't really find this in Milton. Of course my favorite dish was the saag paneer.their combos are also very affordable so what we usually do is order one combo with a few sides to share as a family and it was more than enough food. For two people we spent $35.

So I ordered bunch of food from them last night! I was told to wait 10 mins before my order was ready and pay. I decided to wait in the car. I went back after few minutes and my order was already packed in the bag. Just to make sure as I was duped before too I started checking my order. The lady told me, 'sister everthing is there don't worry', so I overlooked everything and thanked her. While i was leaving, the guy at the corner asked me to give a good review if I find everything ok (so here i am). Guess what? Everything was not ok! Got home half an hour later and found out I was missing naans from my order even though I paid for them. I don't understand why would they stop me from double checking my order when they make mistakes very often. Now I have all this food but nothing to eat with! I need naans to eat curries. Totally ruins dinner, and this was not the first time Zauq messed up my lunch or dinner.

Clean & tidy place. Love the fact they are environmental friendly as the use recycled paper bags and not plastic carry bags.
Plastic only for containers that can't hold food.

I tried their paratha collection. These are awesome. Tawa paratha, Aaloo paratha and Qeema paratha.

January 7th 2021 I went to silver Spoon to pick up dinner and the lineup was up until the parking lot so I decided not to wait and go to zauq. I have been going to this place for a long time with little to no complaints but tonight when I went to get the biryani to my amazement the serving portion was reduced to about half the size so when there is head to head competition with silver spoon on Laurier drive that's the last thing you want to do is kill your portions so I bought two biryanis instead of one. I brought it home and to my surprise the rice were hardened the yogurt that they gave had expired it had a really nasty smell coming from it and obviously the portions were still not enough even after I bought two servings for the family. I can testify that this place was not like this before I don't know if this is being run by New management and obviously I am not in the business and don't have enough experience to tell the management how to run their business.however certain things are very obvious. 7.99 for chicken biryani is already a stretch.on top of that small portions and still yogurt and hardened rice just don't cut it. I should have walked away when the lady on the counter said that she will look in the pot if she has any remaining biryani since the lower portion of the rice always comes with a fair share of oil with it.
To the management, right now Milton is a growing place and the last thing you want to do is shrink the size of your Biryani when there is so much competition and so much room for growth. I wish you good luck but I am not eating this biryani again.

The food is good but unfortunately today I observed an employee handling exposed food without a face mask covering their mouth/nose properly, which was disappointing to see.

My experience was great customer service is very nice. And food is good too. I was helped by Bushra the sales person she was polite, respectful and helpful I will definitely recommend this place.

My go-to place for fresh Pakistani food in Milton. Staff is nice and friendly and their food is high quality. I work in Milton so my staff and I enjoy taking advantage of their specials during the week. The biryani and the samosas are a favorite and their lollipop chicken is great as well.

The food is always cold. Regardless of what time you go in, I've always had to warm it up in the microwave. Disappointing.

Really Really amazing food and even better staff Especially Nazar bhai and Bushra Aunty also really really kind and helps you out with your order and this is the place where me and my family eat from at least once a week.

Food is no different than silver spoon.average food. But the lady's customer service is excellent. Bushra helps out a lot in choosing food and is extremely considerate. Would choose this place over silver spoon because it is better to have someone smile and inform you about the best options rather than to look at a person frown.

Cuisine is authentic. I find the staff friendly ESP Nazar and Bushra who are so helpful and super friendly. Due to them Cafe Zauq, Milton has become my go to place for Indian food. Highly recommend this place.
