I visited twice. First time I thought the lady was having a bad day, second time I realized all the staff is rude lazy and they don’t care! I was standing there waiting for they to see me. I was standing right in from of them. When I said something they look at me like I was disturbing they conversation.pastry is good, but bad experience. No coming back.

Popped in yesterday (Saturday) to try out. Once entering I noticed nothing but chaos, people ordering from all over. There was no clear direction to us where to order from. Finally once the young girl at the counter was ready to move on to the next person she screamed next, we didn’t turn around to her straight away so she yelled next again! She had zero patience, this was our first time here and we were rushed into selecting something to eat. Once our order was ready she shouted down to us so we picked up our bag and brought it to our table. We noticed something was missing so we went up and asked her where it was, she knew exactly the thing she forgot to put in the bag. She dropped a snarky remark saying we have table service. We ate our food and left.
So today (Sunday) we decided to order from them on Uber eats so we
didn’t have to look at the same unpleasant person again, ordered $34 worth of food and guess what, someone else’s order got delivered! Didn’t receive anything I ordered. The people working here need to be trained on customer service and need to be taught how to read simple instructions. It’s not that hard to do.

First time at this bakery, lots of selection! We bought some Portuguese Tarts but the custard is too sweet and the pastry itself is not very flaky. I tried their Italian Canolis and the shell was quite soft. Seems like the items here are not as fresh as they could be. The staff wasn't too helpful either, more focussed on asking what else we want rather than explain or provide more information on items that I wasn't familiar with.

This is my third time coming to this bakery and I'm disappointed. I remember I was thrilled to know there was a bakery close to my home and the first time I went, the pasteis de nata were great. The second time I bought a cake that they recommended and it was quite stale and dry. I thought okay, maybe it was just a bad batch. Yesterday, I decided to give the bakery another chance because it was convenient to go to, so I bought more tarts and the cherry coconut desserts and found it dry and at least a few days old. I found two hair strands one of them and tried to eat another piece but the others were also stale and inedible (I even found the starting of a mold on the crust). I wouldn't recommend this place at all until they change the way they bake, and start selling fresh batches instead.

Caldense bakery is all fresh food in a vast variety of food and deserts. There is to choose cod croquet, meat empanada, chori pan, pastel de nata, pan de coco and much more. Oh yes it is Portuguese.

Everything is high quality. The fresh cheese is very similar to Brazilian "Minas", recommended.

The bacalhau is softer and less salty than other places - very good. The rest is also above average. Tosta mista loaded with ham and cheese and perfectly toasted. Highly recommended.

The women there are not friendly, they never smile or greet you. They acting like they don't want to work and some are very rude.

Amazing traditional food, but incompetent, rude customer service as a hospitality worker I was shoocked they would serve older pasteries to me when fresh ones were in front of my face.

Do not go there! We just bought a oreo piece of cake and egg tarts. The tarts were good, BUT cake was not fresh. It was dry and smelled disgusting! My wife could not even swallow a piece! I don’t know how long it was expired since; but definitely it is not supposed to be sold to the customers! Also, the customer service could be better, two ladies who served us were unfriendly and didn’t want to answer our questions. We felt that we unwelcome here. It was our first and last time there.

It’s very pricey for average pastry. Tasted ok but definitely not worth $3.50 for one cannoli.also they seem to speak Polish there.

Not pleased at all anymore with the lack of customer service I have been getting. I walked in speaking English although I'm Portuguese and received nothing but attitude from the servers. Honestly, I felt so disrespected that I wont be walking back in there again for quite a while. I'd rather walk to a farther bakery than be given attitude.

I live in the area however Caldense is forever no more, it's the last time will visit this place.
Just terrible customer service with an extremely entitled attitude.
Management should look into their hiring practices as the attitude of their employees reflects badly on their image.

Great bakery! Fresh pastries, almond tarts & bread baked daily. Coffee is smooth. Large sandwiches. Affordable prices.

I visited this place during the night about one week ago to buy breads, the staff was really kind when suddenly the boss came by and started to screaming with everyone was working on the balcony with no reason only because the waitress was talking to me. Anyway I don’t recommend this place because I don’t agree when the bosses treat them employees like slavers! I’m really upset about that!

I called caldense to reserve 2 arroz doce' one day in advance' to make shure I had it for my Christmas party ' the next day i went to pick it up and they didnt have anymore because they sold it to somebody else. VEry bad service! What's the point of ordering before if they cant save it for you! Never coming back here!

Hidden gem of a place, head here for chocolate nata (or just the plain ones if you are traditional). Great place to have a seat and enjoy dessert of your choice with a shot of espresso.

Staff is super friendly and will help you pick the right dessert for you

The sweets were delicious. I'm only giving it 3 stars because my friends and I felt the counter staff were not particularly welcoming.

These people are extremely rude and disrespectful.they charged me a quarter for mayonnaise. Breads aite tho

Friendly service, plenty of staff available and my favourite savoury fish and shrimp treats were delicious. My friend threw out his cannoli because it was so stale it was inedible, but raved about the Portuguese tarts, brownie and carrot cake. This nondescript location in a strip mall that seemingly time has forgotten was quite spacious. It also had an adjoining cafe where you could order breakfast, salads and sandwiches in a bright, airy environment. Would love to come back to this Symington bakery to try their breakfast and/or lunch options. Again, was most impressed with the helpful, smiling young people working exceptionally hard at an extremely busy counter.

Horrible customer service. Walked in and wasn’t even greeted. Said hello to the cashier and she stared at me for the most awkward 3 seconds then nodded her head, as a signal to tell me to order. Not even a “Hi how may I help you? ” The 1 star is for the tart.

Great place to relax & eat a variety of sweet goodies, but some of the staff seems racist to me, they speak Portuguese with one another and look at you, and you know they talking about you. Not nice, I didn't come to beg. Better customer service will go a long way guys.

It was my first visit. Has high ceiling with lots of space and seats. Cesar Salad (4.2$) was salty. Soso BLT sandwich (4.5$). Great variety of baked goods though! Nice place to chill in the morning!

Good place choices for breakfast! They have a lot of desserts that you dont what you should get first. I really their Portuguese style tart, it was sweet enough and so good with coffee. The cheesecake was ok. It was a bit to sweet for me. But if you might like it. Give it a try! The vibe is good that you can just bring your laptop to wokr and order some coffee and desserts!

This one of the preferred stops of our cycling group. Grilled cheese & tomato sandwich, a skim latte, and Portuguese butter tart.

Great place for a deli sandwich on fresh bread, and the desserts are good quality. Service is usually pretty slow, so I avoid going if I'm in a rush.
