Ordered take out and the sandwich weighted like a baby, lol. Great staff and excellent sandwiches, what can I say. It puts a happy smile on my face

Got the single veal & spicy chicken sandwiches and they were absolutely delicious! Called them 20 minutes before closing and they happily took my order. Great customer service is what we love

My go to sandwich spot. Their chicken sandwiches are huge and great. Got to try it out and have all the toppings. Worth the price for sure.

I should have perhaps talked to the manager instead of posting a poor review but it's not my job to oversee quality control. It was my first time there and i spent $30 on 2 sandwiches: a veal sandwich with mushrooms and onions and a veggie sandwich. The onions on the veal sandwich were insufficiently cooked and still had the allium taste - rookie mistake, and the mushrooms were bland. My friend, who had the veggie sandwich, could not taste any difference in any vegetables. All the vegetables tasted the same: bland. I always leave 4 or 5 star reviews. This is my first poor review ever. I didn't even finish eating my sandwich.

Wow! $16.94 for a Sandwich with two toppings. That is pathetic and price gouging, absolute greed. Dont take people for fouls,

A sandwich is something you grab on the go and the price expected to be reasonable, after all its not fine dining. When a price of a sandwich rises to a level of a mortgage payment it makes you wonder if you should sell you first born to afford it.

Sometimes I get particularly hungry, so I go to this place, procure one of their sandwiches, place it in my mouth, and my quality of life increases substantially.

Such a great sandwich! They're absolutely massive and utterly delicious! I had the steak and onions with no add-ons and the lovely woman who took our order asked if I wanted tomato sauce - asking in such a way that said 'you should have tomato sauce'. So I did, and it was perfect! My friend had the veal and added fried zucchini and provolone.
Honestly, I should only have eaten one half of it and save the rest for supper, but it was just too good!

This location of California Sandwiches is terrible. The quality of the sandwiches on my last two visits was unacceptable. The Woodbridge location seems to take more pride in their final product. I am going to stick with San Antonio in Woodbridge or the California Sandwiches location in Woodbridge from now on.

Loveeee these sandwiches! So flavourful and huge! Tip though, their jalapeño sauce is SPICYYYY! Love it

Excellent food! There is not option for gluten free bread so the staff gave me the only gluten free option. I had the steak with added veggies and it was absolutely delicious. Dare to say.better than Nonna makes it. Give this place a chance if you haven't already.

A delicious array of gourmet sandwiches served with fresh ingredients. The veal is scrumptious and comes piping hot on a homemade bun. On the Queensway steps away from the TTC 80 bus route.

Just ok! Steak s/w blahh. Over cooked. Many hidden gems serve better. Just need to try out places.

What can I say about a place I've been eating from since I was 9 years old at it's first location in downtown Toronto. My favorite go to every Saturday. Great quality and follows all covid required guidelines.

The best California sandwich I've had in a while the one on Dundas/Winston Churchill is like eating wet bread and a dry piece of jerky. Kudos I know my location of choice now!

If you want a monster sandwich, you have come to the right place. If you haven't eaten in days I recommend these sandwiches. I could barely finish my eggplant sandwich.

Used to love this place. Definitely good food and good portions but a few of the staff at this location are rude and just close the restaurant early on a whim. Truly a shame because their sandwiches are great. But like, if you’re open until eight, and you’re telling people you’re open until eight, and they’re trying to make it there in time to get a quick dinner to go, don’t ignore them at the door and then be rude to them because you want to leave fifteen minutes early. That just isn’t right.

Called in to order for pick up, and the lady on the phone seems very distracted and clearly wasn’t paying attention. She repeated the order correctly, but when I got the sandwich, it was missing toppings.

This is the second time this happened. Unfortunately, the sandwich doesn’t taste the same if what I asked for is not provided. Truly disappointed with the lack of attention and service.

HUGE Veal Sandwiches! Best tasting veal.and I've tried from many different Italian places. These guys have it right!
Perfectly done sandwiches! If you like spicy olives, they have some great ones. I always buy the large container to take home.
Highly recommend.

I paid $50.00 thru Skip the Dishes. What an absolute rip off. And I love the steak. Wont b ordering thru them again

It's been a while since I've had anything from this location.
Veal with cheese and mushrooms $15 out the door.
Service was fast, staff was friendly, food was good, hit the spot nicely.

Not as good as the original on Claremont. Haven't gotten my order right the past few times but still worth picking unwanted extras off the sandwich ‍️

This is one of the better California sandwiches I've been to - aside from the original. I can't get away from the veal sandwich - value for dollar and the quality are amazing. It's become a staple for lunch every couple of weeks. I find the sauce flavour can vary from different locations but this one is solid. Keep it up!

Love this place, usually I go there three to four times a week after work but lately I'll ask for spicy veal sandwich I come home it's not spicy, so i ask now before I take the bag from the girl just to confime, still get it not spicy.even though she tells me it is spicy.it's not a big deal but if I ask for a spicy I deserve to get a Spicy sandwich they have to get their kitchen staff together and communicate better. Not going there again!

I have been a loyal customer of this particular location for many years. The owners Are great people and the sandwiches are always magnanimous, my Son Luca loves their Hot Veals and my daughter loves their Lasagna and Chicken Sandwiches. Thanks for being so consistent especially through these crazy government restrictions!

Just a fantastic sandwich. Proven by all the people grabbing a sandwich by themselves and eating it in the car before they leave. Expensive but just one of those things that u pay what you get for.

These guys give such a big sandwich you need it cut in half or four to handle it. It's flavourful and filling I've seen people share one sandwich.

The service was friendly and helpful when it came to answering any questions I had. I ordered the classic veal and I added some cheese to it. Delicious!

The sandwich was saucy, hot and enormous! I feel like I might not need to eat for the rest of the week.

Hungry but picky? This is the place. I ordered a beef and onion Sandwich, it tasted amazing and the size can feed a family of 4.

The quality of the veal sandwich is superb. It can get pricey quick with the extra toppings, but you don't really need those. The portions are massive so bring a friend

Friendly staff, very clean, excellent food (everything) big potion size eat half eat other half later or share, there known for their veal sandwiches, fast service, they take cash & debit, reasonable prices.

Honestly who ever gives this place less the 5 stars are lieing

Ever since I moved into the neighborhood 11 years ago, this is the one restaurant I consistently go back to.

Traditional home made food unbelievable tasty and affordable especially the tiramisu, staff amazing all with smiley face

I grew up with these amazing sandwiches. These guys were downtown by college. And now on queensway. Love my chicken with cheese. Cant stay away. Love you guys. Love the staff

It's good food. The sandwiches are huge. Great deal. Maybe have a smaller version of a veal sandwich, with not so much meat. Just and idea

The sandwich is meant to share:). Get a sandwich and 2 cheese sticks which is usually enough for 2 people. It's huge and priced accordingly.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants since I was a child. The veal with extra mushrooms and olives on the side has always been my go to. They have many other traditional Italian options that are very tasty if your looking to try something else! A must go!

Best Italian sandwiches around. This local and the original location in Toronto are the only locations to go to. Other locations carry the name but not the quality and taste.

Food was great but staff was unprofessional and unfriendly. I would probably visit other locations before coming here again.

Typical sloppy California sandwiches. It's like eating a sandwich from a food truck or something at a carnival. Didn't taste that fresh as if you made it at home. They may be serving day old cutlets and reheating them.

I limit my intake with food like this.
