As an Italian: this place has some AMAZING Veal parmesan sandwiches. No matter how you get it topped, it's awesome. I will keep going back anytime I'm in the area.
Best veal sandwiches I've ever tried. Wonderful location, kind staff, and AMAZING food. The bathrooms are super clean (owner please note that the men's washroom didn't lock for me). HUGE portions and a variety of selections. Quick, authentic Italian food at its finest.
I placed an order on the phone and when I arrived there was a line of people ordering. The staff noticed I was just picking up and allowed me to cash out without waiting. Much appreciated; this is a good way to operate. Food is top notch.
Bought 590$ worth of sandwiches and olives for my office and wanted mushrooms and peppers on the side so people could use them as desired. No go. They wanted me to order mushrooms and peppers separately on a per sandwich basis. Mushrooms cost $1.65 per bun and peppers are $1.75. I bought 35 sandwiches @ $14.00 each plus tax. So to have mushrooms and peppers on these sandwiches would have cost me an extra $118.50. I recommend ordering elsewhere - the sandwiches were kind of soggy anyway.
I ordered the Steak Sandwhich & Onions and Veal Sandwhich. I had some Jalapeno peppers in the Veal Sandwhich, and it wasn't super spicy.
The sandwhiches were SO GOOD. My favourite of the two was the Veal Sandwhich, I got to love the buns absorbing all thay delicious sauce! I really love the sandwhiches.
Call 30 minutes prior to pick up. No order was processed. Have to wait for 20 minutes. Sandwich didn't taste the same due owner changed. Pasta is uncooked
Delicious food. The mini is like a regular size so if you're looking for an afternoon lunch - nothing too heavy - it's a great option. Eggplant parm and veal are my favourites. The service was also excellent as well. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and they were all quick, accommodating and helpful above and beyond. Great job management!
This place is Amazing. Their Grilled chicken sandwich was actually good enough for 2 people. Other sandwiches are also similarly big and very tasty. Very friendly staff and extremely fast service. The prices are very competitive
Best veal sandwich anywhere! I love having the veal medium hot with a side of olives and a brio. My childhood living in an Italian neighbourhood on St. Clair West!
Sandwiches are consistently good, but if you want it hot (spicy) need to ask to add extra hot peppers. We always ask for hot but it tastes like sometimes they forget the hot peppers.
Meatball sandwich was like eating soggy cardboard id imagine. Absolutely no flavour in meat and sauce on a soggy bun. Had steak before and they put marinara sauce on it?
1/5 for the steak sandwich, sandwich itself was very wet from the tomato sauce but the steak was dry and over-cooked to the point you had to tear off bites. No flavour or seasoning, just oddly salty as someone else said and COVERED in sauce.
For $14.11 it’s not worth it, you can get one at Vincentina with onions and hot peppers for the same price and it’s cooked properly every time.
I understand during these times we are in but other then getting smaller the sauce on the sandwiches over the last year has become very salty. Not sure if it's a new sauce but go back to the regular one.
Walked in to order today and was disappointed to see two staff wearing their masks under their noses, especially in the food industry. Kind of put me off returning until covid is gone.
Very feeling sandwiches. If you don't like too much of tomato flavour then avoid the sandwich here.and if u love the taste.it's awesome to get sandwich from here
I absolutely love their sandwiches. Everything on their menu is good, especially the veal on a bun. If you like a bit of a kick, I highly recommend adding peppers. They're also great on the steak sandwich.
We used to place orders for lunch, for 20 to 30 people. This place does not even put the correct toppings on each order, they just give us a box of toppings. Now they want to charge us extra for the boxes. Are you serious? Seems like they are too busy and they don't need your business. The food are dry and taste is just no flavour. How does this place survive
Great sandwiches! They are quite expensive. On top of the base price toppings are an extra cost so I usually go without. The wait times are long even if you call by phone. They do prioritize single sandwich orders. So for example if you ordered the chicken, veal and rice ball, the people who orders just chicken or just veal will get their food before you even if they came after you. I wouldn’t recommend coming on you lunch break because you won’t have much time to eat it. Also the fries and drinks have their own price. I don’t believe there are comb prices. Basically you are walking out with great sandwiches and good sides but leaving behind A LOT of money. I limit my visit to 2-3 times a year.
Food is expensive but cheap quality. No flavour and no nutrition value. Over priced and bad service. Charge you extra for take out. Who invented this junk sandwich. The bread is dry enough to choke you to death
Yummy yummy yummy veal Sandwiches! The French fries were awful though! Very disappointing on the amount of grease and barely any for that price! No fries next time but definitely a sandwich!
Yass Prince Harry, I’m questioning your website with out the title. I know your NOT considering traveling to remote foreign countries to have them produce product for your brand?
So sad the richmond hill location closed, I'm not surprised, since every time I go, there is hardly anyone inside. I'm grateful the place is open for so many years.the sandwich is not cheap at all, but when you take it out of the bag, you know you are getting your money's worth.it's huge.the veal are amazing, sauce is great.only I hope more people know about this place, and keep them in business.but everyone I talked to, they all say the tastes are great, but portion size are humongous.many people can't finish them, and those sandwiches only comes in one size.
Such great sandwiches. Huge portions. I love it when my wife gets a craving for here because I usually can have half for 1 day and the other half at work the next day. Best steak on bun ever
Only ordered once from this location. One some of the sandwiches marked as sweet they were extremely spicy making my child cry and making them inedible. Would go to California's again just not this location
Your typical modern style California sandwich shop. Very good veal, onion rings, and olives. If you want consistency go to California sandwich it's been in Toronto for over 50 years and now many locations around the GTA
The sandwich wasn't really from California. They told me I actually have to go there to get a Californian sandwich. That's expensive. I'll just live in delusions here.
There is no substitute for this sandwich. Everyone is Vaughan is trying to sell a veal sandwich but they all fall short of this original. Amazing food. Place isn’t always clean, I suppose it’s hard to keep up while it is so busy.
If anyone ever tells you to eat somewhere because the food is “filling”. You know that’s probably the best part about it (if being fat/filled is your goal).
Sandwich was 4/10 and has zero nutritional value; almost like a pizza but worse. Sauce was sour, either cooked improperly or old cause they’re too lazy to make it fresh or too cheap to make it good.
The originally owned stores made better sandwiches and made you feel at home. This is clearly a franchise location.
Unfortunately I had to interact with these front counter girls.instead of the nice ladies at the original stores who felt like your next door neighbour who brought you their home-made pasta sauce and basil once in a while.
I don’t ever care about “service” at a fast food joint, but here’s what happened.
They forgot to tell me my sandwich was ready (there were 3 other ppl in the store) and it sat there for about 7-10 minutes.no big deal, they’re dumb but it’s fast-food ($16 for the sandwich!) so all good.
I started looking at them from where I was sitting and the girl notices me, looks and sees my sandwich has been sitting there.
She yells “chiiiickenn” (realizing they forgot) and starts laughing with her co-worker, as in “omg we’re such dumb workers who forgot this dude’s sandwich let’s giggle about it”.
again I don’t care about them or their service.but then one of them takes the bag, legit slams it on the counter when I get there and runs away giggling to her friend.
That’s when the rage hit and my hunger overtook my desire for my first ever request for a refund for food. After that I took the sandwich and ate it at Tim Hortons cause I couldn’t stand looking at them.
As a Vaughan veteran, go to Pronto Cafe at Keele and Rutherford for the REAL Italian experience. Not this franchise bullsh**
Very impressed. This is really a tried tested and true recipe that has gone unchanged for decades. If you're looking for a hot Italian panini sandwich Done Right made to order I would strongly encourage you to go to California Sandwiches.
Still one of the best and most filling veal sandwiches ever. There's a difference store to store though since they franchised. The Queensway & 427 store is still my favourite, bigger portions, crispier breading, better taste
