My boy’s school just came back from a 3 days trip to Camp Muskoka. According to what my son told me. It is a terrible experience. Kids got sick of drinking from the tap water (if it is coming from the well then God knows if it is filtered or else). During the 3 days, breakfast/lunch/dinner only limited to a very small limited of food per person (definitely not enough for the kids after outdoor activities) Food not cook thoroughly and kids got food poisoned yet the staffs’ food are much better! So sad and big disappointment for the kids who have high expectations of Camp Muskoka. Not recommended until all known issues are rectify.

Camp councillors are ok but the kids who go here can be absolutely awful. Children went and said the campers are out of control and everything is chaotic.

July 2-8 2023 - first week of camp
I have to give one star in order to post, but I really give NO stars. I picked this camp for the great food, air conditioned cabins, huge amount of programs and private lake. The food was horrible and CHEAP quality, no condiments: no ketchup for burgers, no syrup for pancakes, etc. They RAN OUT OF FOOD, RAN OUT OF WATER (to drink, for the showers, sinks and toilets - very unhygienic). Woke the kids up early, just to shuffle them off to eat, but then made them wait hours to get any food.
The counselors ate first and ate everything.
It was 38 degrees and the cabin had no air. Clearly they need to test these things prior to arrival. Common sense says: leave (at least) one free cabin in case of flooding, damage, broken AC, etc. At least then they could have moved the kids into a working cabin.
The forest fire smoke meant they could not open the windows, which made it over 40 degrees in the cabin. Then they lazy counselors had an excuse to not work, by confining kids to the cabin "because of the smoke"! The were very few activities, "because of the smoke". How about a refreshing swim? NOPE, as they had 3/4 of their private lake blocked off: not enough room for campers to be on the docks, not enough equipment (paddle boards, kayaks, etc.).
Not enough activities. Rude counselors.
What a waste of hard earned money. It was like a torture chamber for the kids. I asked why I wasn't called to be alerted of how things were going and the conditions, "we only do that with new campers". I asked to be compensated "we don't do that". So basically they take your money and RUN while ruining your kids summer. Thanks for nothing CAMP MUSKOKA

This has been season 6 for my daughter at Camp Muskoka. Clean cabins, well thought out drop-off and pickup and great choice of activities, all allowing her freedom away from her parents to make decisions with her peers. Plenty of activities to choose for her. Every year she comes home saddened by having to leave the new and old friends she's made behind. The staff was caring and thoughtful and and ready to console when teen emotions begin to run wild. She has also attended school's outdoor education camp week and a wedding on the same grounds making this a very versatile place. As a parent, I know she's comfortable and happy during her stay. Thank you Camp Muskoka for giving her amazing place to make memories.

Absolutely disappointed with camp Muskoka this year. My child attended camp for a week in August with 3 of her friends. On the 3rd day of their one week stay, parents received an email communication that there was an outbreak of Norovirus. They mentioned the virus to disguise food poisoning. This resulted in most of the children being sent home. My child was in a cabin with 17 girls by the end of the week only 5 were left. When we picked up our children, they said they were starving because the food that was served was uncooked. The food led to food poisoning, irritable bowel syndrome and dehydration. Some of the other girls also experienced vomiting because of the bad food that was served. This is the 3rd year that my child has attended this camp. We highly recommended it in the past and were strong advocates. This year was an absolute mess. I no longer recommend and will no longer support this camp. No compensation was offered by Camp Muskoka based on this negative experience. Only a dehydrated, sick child. This is an expensive camp, the price should be commensurate with the experience and quality food should be served. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to give less than 1 star. Highly disappointed.

Our 10 year-old son came back last week and insisted that we sign him up again for next year. He liked the food and the activities and made many new friends but he said the caring counsellors really made the experience. This was his first time at camp and after only a week he came back happier and more confident. Thanks Camp Muskoka! Looking forward to next year!

Our son has had an amazing experience at this camp for two years. The LIT program is incredible!

Personally I went on a school trip here, but I was expecting more. The activities were fun, but they overhyped them so much. The trip isn't worth the money and I'd say the most memorable activity was the aerial park, which you have to pay extra for. The food was terrible and if you have food restrictions the accommodations are flavourless. The cabin also got super hot in the middle of the night. Although in the end it was an unforgettable experience.
