Brought my old gaming computer in due to a Raid0 array failure, not only did Jake and the team manage to recover my windows image and migrate me over to a nvme they also isolated a ram issue which solved all of my stuttering in video games.

Jake (Jacob) was fantastic and not only assessed my knowledge level of pcs (very high) and provided apt information that helped me make frugal decision to maximize what I can get out of my computer.

Full satisfied, great experience!

I've called numerous times to ask about the repairs on my laptop. No one answers the phone, if they do, I'm on hold for long periods of time. For what is supposed to be just a hard drive repair I'd like some answers as to where my laptop is.it's been over a month.

I knew exactly what I wanted when I went to the store, (A new laptop). The sales staff quickly and efficiently found what I wanted. I was pleased to find the best price currently available. A quick briefing on warranty, etc and I was on my way.

Seriously uncomfortable interaction with a guy working here. Not only was he unwilling to look at me while talking, he was rude, dismissive, and short with me. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful when I visit. But I will not be visiting again.

After hubby bought a new processor, motherboard, graphics card and ram for his computer from canada computers it still did not work. He went to the Kanata location to see if they can tell him why since at this point it has to be one of the new things that are faulty.
They told him 50$ to diagnose or 50$ for them to put it together. Well they will be losing more money when we return all thier junk.

I went in with some problems with my computer that i couldn't solve. They were able to fix it super fast and didn't charge me anything. Their staff was very nice and extremally helpful with everything.

I called Canada Computers because I’ve been having issues with my laptop (our little guy stepped on the laptop while it was closed and it’s been since giving me issues with the screen) I spoke to Jacob in service and repair to explain the situation. He tried to diagnose the problem best he could without actually having the laptop in front of him so after going over a few things he told me to bring it in. I was honestly expecting him to give me a line saying I would have to leave it there and it would take a few days to diagnose and some sort of charge would be associated…but honestly I was pleasantly surprised! He started to take a look at the laptop right away and took it apart to assess the problem. He looked at the main issues and couldn’t find any issues he tried to cause the issues by moving the screen in all directions. The laptop wouldn’t flicker. He then gave me 3 things to watch for to see if the problem happens again. After putting the laptop back together he told me if the problem persists just to take a video of it. Honestly I was expecting a story of how I would have to leave the laptop there and I was expecting a charge. Instead I got amazing world class cx service and will go to Canada Computers for any future service/purchases. Thank you Jake and thank you Canada Computers.

Very bad and negative experience: the minute you are under their knives, there is no mercy on you. I had Brought my Dell laptop to repair one henge (I supplied them with the parts) and a broken screen. They had told me it will cost $270 the screen + labour (it’s between 100-140 at the most on eBay), I opted out, still they went on replacing the bottom (henge) and charged me with over $150, not including the screen, despite I supplied the parts. If I was to accept Their entire prices I probably would have paid $500-600, tax incl.you can buy a brand new / good laptop with this amount. Be very specific with these guys, they are very slick and quick and sound “very professionals”… they are not! Will never ever go back to that place

Ordered a new laptop for pickup from Canada Computers Kanata. It was on a great sale and had a coupon. An hour later I get a call from Canada Computers. John from there states there was an inventory issue and the new computer was no longer available. They had a floor model only. I then inquired if I could get that for the open box price or the same laptop. As I work in IT a demo laptop will be in worst condition then an open box one. However John stated it was CC policy not to changes prices on discounted items.
Companies like this should not be allowed to get away with bate an switches like this. It is 2022 the inventory system should not have issues like this. Very disappointed will post this to all my social media accounts and Reddit. Letting people know to avoid Canada Computer and their anti consumer tactics and polices.

The staff at this location are always friendly and knowledgeable. I've bought several components here and never had any issues. More recently, I was having unexpected computer trouble and left my PC with them to troubleshoot. They were able to identify and solve the problem for me, at a reasonable rate, within four days. Highly recommend!

Staff was so amazing! Service was top notch and price was better than I found anywhere online or in town. Clean store, well stocked, and pretty much always enough staff that you're never waiting around for help. I've always appreciated that CC dedicates plenty of space in their stores for stocking a massive variety of cables/adapters/tools/accessories/etc. Saved my butt a number of times when realizing in the middle of a project I'm missing one specific adapter, and it's fantastic being able to hop in the car and grab it just a few minutes away!

Gabrielle is 5 Star for customer service. Great, honest advice on products and recommends one with value. He has tremendous knowledge to form and share honest opinions on what product is most suitable.
Having a few more people like this (if they exist) and getting rid of the policy not to take credit card payment by phone would make it 5 star. Having to drop it off, come back to pay in store ans then to pick up could easily be reduced to 2 visits.

Had some issues with my pc and they got it fixed within a couple days, they were very polite and professional.it was a little pricey to replace the parts but i don’t think that was there fault. 100% recommend if you are having issues with your system and don’t know how to repair it yourself

Jake at the service desk helped me with my MacBook. Super professional, down to earth and a lot more reasonably priced service than the Apple Store. Highly recommend. (There was another guy on 23 Jan 2022 who was also a big help, but I forget his name!)

Despite my medical exemption. I was forced into wearing a mask into the store even though the sign at the entrance clearly says "Proof of exception is not required". The employees have failed to recognize this. Terrible customer service was treated like an animal.

Employees Scalping Inventory?

Can't buy anything of value in this store. Employees prevent purchase of inventory that could be scalped. To do this the employees enforce their own policies. They changed "one per customer" to "one per household" and applied this to my wife even though I purchased a different product weeks earlier. One sales staff even told me not to buy a graphics card because its expensive and the price will drop soon. Take note that this is in the middle of a world-wide GPU shortage. It's pretty obvious inventory is being reserved by employees for scalping buddies despite the store policy "no reservations". These are all the signs present in every case of employees scalping inventory. Coincidence?

Only problem they give out hand sanitizer but it's the worst smelling one and they don't have any computer graphic cards at there front desk other then that they always have good computer stuff for gaming and it's nice they custom build you a pc or add parts for a good price and they don't usually fuss about returning yes I know it's hard to get the graphic cards right now but should work on getting them soon for a good price around Christmas I'm trying to upgrade soon

My fiancée and I came into the Kanata location on August 27th, 2021 to pick ip an online order. Let me say, I really did not enjoy being man-splained to by the assistant manager when I know more about hardware than he does. Telling me that a specific cooler is not used for a "TR4 die" and the cooler plate "doesn't cover the entire die. " Well, that is technically correct, but what your assistant manager should have said was the lid, not the die. But when I pointes this out, he decided to belittle me by saying that his other Threadripper customers ONLY buy one of two other coolers and why would I want this one. Well, when several very large and highly reputable media outlets tested the cooler specific to the Threadripper and specifically advertised by the manufacturer of the cooler for use with the TR4 and returned favourable results, I chose that cooler for my build. In addition, the assistant manager then telling me that overtorqued indentations in the cooler plate of an AM4 lid has no effect on the cooler and saying it was perfectly fine is not correct. Proper process is to sand the cooler plate to reduce hot spots due to improper pressure and contact of the plate to the lid. The cooler you disclosed as "brand new open box" is clearly a USED CPU cooler which could be found on kijiji or Marketplace for less and likely better condition. I do not appreciate the attempt by the assistant manager to belittle me further with statements like "see this plate here? This thing that makes contact with the CPU? This doesn't cover a TR die. " I certainly do appreciate your assistant manager challenging my intelligence. I diffused the situation by cutting the semantics and asking whether that should be sold assistants brand new? He said no and would talk to whoever said it was brand new. This isn't a p*ss*ng contest buddy, and I would be more than accommodating to educate you in the hardware industry and architecture. If Canada Computers would like to confirm this interaction, my fiancée and I would be more that happy to do so. My fiancée was the one who used the term man-splaining and found him very rude, demeaning, unapologetic and truly unaware of the condition of a product his store is selling. To boot, the Fryzen cooler that he said shouldn't be sold is still available as I passed back through and it was back on the shelf. This has to be the worst Canada Computers location I have dealt with. Save yourself the hassle, because if they do not care about customer happiness or proper conduct when you spend over $10k in the last 6 months on personal computers and peripherals. Kanata and their belittling, man-splaining assistant manager will not be getting any of my business in the future. In fact, we headed over to Memory Express on Merivale Rd in Ottawa immediately after and decided to buy the components for a completely new additional rig, resulting in a bill over $3k, in addition to ordering in a CM MA621P that we decided on after the threadripper cooler fiasco less than an hour prior. Canada Computers used to be fool-proof for universal quality and customer service, this has drastically fallen off. More so during the pandemic, and definitely noticeable since NCIX's bankruptcy a few years ago. Canada Computers had a near monopoly on my loyalty since 2002, that's nearly 20 years Canada Computers, but I think I should help a competitor grown from here on out and give them the next two decades of my business if they prove themselves worth. I doubt corporate will do anything about this, since you hear the horror stories with Canada Computers. I didn't believe it to be true as I had great service at the Merivale location, but this set me off from the entire Canada Computers brand.

JACOB! My hero! I needed to upgrade my laptop's memory. Simple, right? Well, Best Buy's Geek Squad wouldn't do it but, thankfully, someone on BB's floor staff told me about Canada Computers. That was BB's best mistake ever. Drove around the corner to Canada Computers and BOOM! The work was done not only the same day - I was in and out within HALF AN HOUR. They had the memory in stock, Jacob installed it, the price of the memory and service were more than fair (and less than I expected), and here I am typing on my speedy laptop. Thank you, Canada Computers! Thank you, Jacob!

The people in the store are awesome and friendly. The only reason I'm giving them a 2 is that they never answer the phone so I am unable to find out how my computer is coming along without traveling across the city to show up at the shop.

Purchased a monitor with a with a few dead pixels on it. Told these guys and they were happy to help, replaced it immediately with no hassle. Thanks to the tech Taz and everyone else here. Very satisfied with the customer service.

Update: corporate took my issue below very seriously and I am feeling better about this company. Note: I had previously identified an employee in this review. They had nothing to do with it so their name has been removed. Their name was on the receipt because they'd been logged in but weren't the ones I'd spoken with.

Purchased a motherboard, was defective and damaged my CPU. They told me it was MY fault and that the $50 extended warranty I'd purchased was basically useless. Motherboard was defective on purchase. Both staff members I talked to were rude, arrogant and combative. They didn't care for covid rules either as he put my receipt in his mouth and expected me to take it.

They refused to accept the idea that they sold me a defective board. The worse of the two tried to tell me that never in the history of any Canada Computers location has anyone ever bought a physically damaged part. I walked him completely through that. “Never? Yes. Across all the stores in Canada? Yes. Since the business began? Yes. Across all the products you sell? Yes”. They also told me I didn't know anything about computers, so I told him I'm a Doctoral candidate in Information Technology and have a masters & bachelors. I've been fixing computers for over a decade. He then told me he didn't care and still thought I knew nothing. This sent me into a rage, I stormed off with applause from the people in the line behind me. A chorus of "you did the right thing! These guys have screwed me many times! ". One guy told me he's always been to nervous to stand up for himself in this store.

I went to the store in Gatineau where they happily took the broken parts, sent them off to the manufacturer for a free replacement. I recommend all computer enthusiasts to check out the Gatineau location and avoid the Kanata one if you want better service, your warranties acknowledged and no ego with your order.tl;dr Great company, bad location.

I purchased a computer online for pickup (obviously because of covid) and when I got there they said they don't see pick up orders for another 30 minutes (weird considering even weed stores receive orders right away) but fine. I waited a whole hour just to get my computer! I was the only one waiting for a pickup.finally after an hour I checked with them and finally received my order but noticed that NO ONE was actually working in the store! There were at least three employees goofing off in the store but told me they had a lot of orders to fill. Customer service has gone seriously downhill since covid. Very disappointed.

I purchased a complete new build of a gaming computer. Purchased during COVID and because of a lock down could not go and return a defective product. They only give you 30 days for exchange or return and the product can’t be defective. Riddle me that. Not impressed. I have to deal with the manufacture now. Personnel at this location are always grumpy and not very knowledgeable in my opinion. Never buying here again. The store at Merivale location are nicer and very helpful. Unfortunately they can’t help me because I purchased product at Kanata location. Sigh. Very frustrating! Best Buy has a better return process. I don’t recommend this location.

(See update below) So I used to like this store a lot. I have purchassed several computers from them, as well upgrade components, and they've always been good and I have given them a 5-star rating in the past, but that all changed today. I brought my laptop in for a simple memory upgrade and they broke it. Not only that, but they refused to acknowledge their responsibility, accusing me of bringing the laptop in broken and basically implying that I was lying. When I refused to take the machine home in the state it was in, they told me it would be disposed of if I did not take it home. The manager was insulting and arrogant and to make this very clear: HE CALLED ME A LIAR. If I could rate the place 0 stars I would. I will never buy from Canada Computers again.
Update: The problem with the laptop has been resolved. I suspect the techs took the initiative and fixed the problem by falshing the BIOS. I have the laptop back, but I am still very unsatisfied by how I was treated by the manager. The lack of respect shown, and the amazingly poor customer service ethos, by someone supposedly in charge of runnning a customer focussed business is unbelievable. Reviews posted on other review sites show that this is a problem throughout the organization.

Not very pleased. Argued about price when the price in store was cheaper and they wouldn't even match their own price. Nothing was mentioned that they won't take cash until I got there. (No sign on the door or anything) This is not the only time I have had an unpleasant at a Canada computers location. They could really use better customer service and organization.

Brought my laptop to them for a fan replacement on my GPU and CPU. It took them 35 days to return my laptop, and the CPU fan was not replaced.

I think the issue is with the main repair center, not this specific store location. I have tried to contact the head office via phone, email, and even Canada Post registered lettermail for over 2 weeks, with no reply received.

It has been 52 days since I brought my laptop to them for the repair, and I am still unable to use it.

I paid over $200 for them to hold my laptop for over a month and they have delivered nothing productive.

Wanted to order the parts to try my first home build for a gaming computer but no one answers the phone here. Also tried to log in and order all the parts online, taking advantage of the boxing week sale.there has yet to be a response to the online ticket I submitted though. It wouldn't allow the parts to be purchased together (some required in person pick up and some would have been put on back order - apparently their system can't handle multiple scenarios).

It's been nearly 2 weeks and counting. There goes another customer.which is sad since I hoped to support local business over amazon.

Tbh. These guys never answer the phone. Also, Some of the employees.not all of them! Tend to seem annoyed when you ask them questions. Its expected at every store. But its refreshing when you experience a happy work crew. Overall, Id say just answer your phones more. And train the stuff to be more friendly. Then id give a solid 5 stars!

Exceptional service. I spent over an hour piecing together a pc from start to finish with one of the guys. I gave him a budget and helped me create a machine suitable for my needs. Unfortunately forgot his name but none-the less everyone was helpful and gave me tons of advice on where I could save money.

Great service, Canada computers has highly trained employees, knowledgeable and very helpful. Any challenges, queries, doubts to do with IT hardware and software. I trust Canada Computers. Unlike other "resellers" of goods, Canada Computers are passionate about the "products" they sell and always give you the best "customer focused" advice.

Store was clean and organized, however the customer service was terrible. I wish I could say my bad experience was a 1 time occurrence, but sadly it isn't. Today, a sales Rep was quite condescending over my choice of product for purchase. He ended our interaction by telling me the unit I was purchasing was likely to blow up after 10 minutes anyway, and walked away.

Previously I had gone in to pick up some newly released components. The website listed them in stock at this location. When I got there, I was informed that the in store technician had just set those parts aside, not to purchase, but to build an in store demo unit with. I was given an option to have the store order another set to the stores location and I could come purchase them in a couple days. My reply was to sell me what was in stock and order in the replacement parts for the store demo. This wasn't an option for the staff however as the technician wanted to start the build the same day. Sales of product and customer satisfaction was less important than a staff member writing off the product as "used/open box" so he could play for a day.

I have never felt like I was an inconvenience while in a store as a customer before shopping at this store. This will be my last visit

Disgusting customer service practice by John (the supervisor) at the Kanata location. I have an order placed for a very sought after piece of tech where demand is highly constrained due to global availability of said hardware. I understand that. The Kanata location has unwillingly been giving me false information (keep getting an ETA of 2 weeks every other week I call) - I placed my order beginning of October as reference. "Yeah it's not here, it's set to arrive next week according to our Product Manager. " - last conversation I had with John which was last week. John called me today as I filed another open ticket with the Canada Computers service team online and asked where the product was because one of Johns in-store reps had given me a quote of, "it'll be here Monday of next week" - next week being the 26th of October (Monday). No update, nothing in-stock, same situation. John was extremely unprofessional on the phone, he didn't actively sympathize with any of the misinformation I was being given, instead, John made passive-aggressive and snarky remarks for 0 reason at me. Asked why, 'we are here' when I know the answers to my hardware situation (I don't because I keep getting different answers from your reps by the way John, that's why I'm calling). Overall his demeanor was disgusting to deal with and I requested to speak with Eric who is the manager of the location. Eric said he will review the audio calling and exercise whatever next steps are to be taken, I hope you stay true to your word there Eric. Will absolutely never see me in this Canada Computers location once this transaction with you is done, I spent $2700 on a single piece of tech and am getting the absolute run-around whenever I call.

I've been a long time client of Canada Computers, and while I find their prices decent and their choice of inventory fairly extensive, all their stores (in Ottawa at least) seem to suffer from the same sort of complete sort of disregard for customer service, and this one is no exception.

Other reviews for this location seem to echo this sentiment, where you can spend 15+ minutes pacing the unmarked aisles (why not add some signage describing what's in each?) clearly in need of service, yet being walked past or ignored by any of their employees - even when I'm often the only person in the store.

They should have someone at head office employed to ensure their retail sales and service staff are held to higher standards - although tbh, staff should be taking this initiative on their own.

A pretty good store, lots of selection, decent prices and the sales staff typically know what they are talking about. They carry some of the more esoteric cables as well and it's nice to have a brick and mortar with that selection available.

By far the worst Canada Computers in Ottawa. Twice now I’ve gone there to buy something but the item was already sold as part of an order. I guess it’s really hard to keep inventory accurate. Go to the other ones in Ottawa or buy online.

I do not recommend that you go to pick up a unit that their website says they have in stock unless you call the store directly and verify that they actually have it in the first place. I drove across the city to find out that they have an "inventory issue" and knew it wasn't correct.they we are unable to assist me.

This place is sooooo much better than the big box computer stores. You know who I'm talking about.

They are sooooo freaking helpful here and very friendly and respectful. The staff are extremely knowledgeable but also don't make you feel stupid if tech isn't your thing.

The prices are really great too!

They have a lot of different options and parts if your know what you are looking for. However if you are browsing they do not have a good layout of their products, as many times the prices are no where near the displayed product. It's a very specific store, and for most products I would recommend Best Buy for their prices.

Went in on a quiet Tuesday looking for Powerline LAN equipment. Spent almost 15 minutes going through pretty much everything they had but couldn't find what I was looking for. Not once did anyone approach me to see if they could help, despite several employees mulling around making idle chatter. Went home and found what I needed on Amazon. It will be here tomorrow.

Good place to buy computer parts if you need them now. I recommend to always open the box and verify everything bis in order before leaving the parking lot.
