I was looking for 10 foot display port cables. They were pretty difficult to find and all the cables seemed to be scattered throughout the store. Other than a bit unorganized the store has everything I've ever looked for. This is probably my favorite computer/electronics store.

Went in for a laptop. There was a guy at the desk. When approached to get an idea about some specs and prices, the guy said to wait at the help sign and someone else will come to me, while he was doing nothing else and just standing. Ridiculous! I wish I got the name of the guy, but, Canada Computers, that is atrocious. Never coming back!

Never answer the phone, they told me they needed to inspect my 3D printer that it was gonna take 2-3 days and they never contact me now even it’s they declare it’s broken they don’t have some in stock anymore it’s was just a big lost of time never again

Bought an MSI laptop for over 1,000$ for a birthday gift. Within 4 days the computer screen hinges broke seemingly a manufacturer issue. We were very gentle with it and honestly did nothing wrong and it did not drop. I brought it back to the Canadian computers store and they straight up told me since it's physical damage the don't do anything about it. No exchanges no refunds. Because I had purchased it over 30 days prior and it sat in a box then was removed from the box and within 4 days the hinges we broken. The service desk staff were extremely dismissive and rude. The manager was called just to come over and say "nothing we can do" and walked away. Horrible service. HORRIBLE way to handle a situation. People drop money on these laptops and deserve to be treated better than that.

The store located in Merivale Rd, Ottawa, has the worst customer service in the entire city. All of the employees look at you and ignore you and the funny thing they walk away quickly to avoid serving you.if they don't want to work it's preferable that they close the store.

I am extremely disappointed in Canada computers right now. During this GPU shortage there are enough people take advantage of others by jacking up there prices. Today during my visit I saw that this location had several Gigabyte RTX 2060 supers cards. There's cards came out in July of 2019 making them over 3 years old. At there release these card had an MSRP of $419. The reason for my poor review is because they had these cards for sale at $699.99 putting this 3 year old card $280 over its MRSP. In my opinion this makes Canada computers no better then the scumbag scalpers on eBay, Facebook market place and Kijiji that all real PC enthusiast hate. I can’t see myself shopping here until they rectify there greediness.

Canada Computers has it's issues as a retailer, but the fact that they put in effort to prevent GPU scalping earns them major respect from me. Very helpful staff at this location too.

Service is slow here with staff joking around a lot while customers are waiting. The staff had sold me a video card they received in a shipment which I saw later on that the sealing circle at the flap was tampered with and was no longer a new product. When I came back the next day to return the item and raise the issue, they assured me the product was brand new, and that I had opened it and used and would not be in a resaleable state.

Will be taking my business elsewhere.

I purchased warranty for a set of headphones and I went in for an exchange as they stopped working and sara was very rude and was almost refusing to exchange my headset and said that I should just buy a better set of headphones and she said she will exchange it this time and I told her that I paid for the warranty what are you talking about and then she got even more angry. Sara has TERRRIBLE customer service!

Le service à clientèle de Canada Computer en général est très mauvais pour plusieurs raison, le premier est que quand tu appelle ils ne répondent jamais, tu réserve quelque chose en magasin finalement tu fais 4 heure de route pour te faire dire qu'il y a eu un problème d'inventaire qui a été vendu, il ne feront rien pour toi, bref personnellement évitez la compagnie tout simplement

Very friendly staff and some of them are bilingual if you're looking for service in French. I found everything I was looking for and the prices were reasonable compared to every other place.

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Was going to order a graphics card online for my sons computer. The price was listed as $369.99. When I got to checkout it said that the price was "To be determined". Since I did not want to get charged a crazy price, I called store to find out what was going on. Waited on hold for 30 minutes the first time, so I hung up and called back. Sales person said he did not know why my online order was telling me that and that the price was indeed $369.99. I asked if I could pay over the phone or he could hold it for me and he said no. I told him I would try to complete the order online. I was not able to, so I called back again. Asked again if I could pay over the phone or he could hold he said no. He told me to come to the store. Drove all the way to the store and he told me he had already sold it. Honestly, my hope is that Bestbuy starts carrying more computer products. There service is much better.

How are they VERY tricky? You say yourself you understand the policy CLEARLY states "all original items and packaging. You say you are missing 2 screws.you expect them to take it back and what? Sell it to someone else saying sorry its missing screws? Don't lose stuff and retailers take it back that's how it works.

Be careful, they are very tricky with their return policy. Even when the cashier tells you they are easy going, don't believe them. Also refused a return because I was missing 2 tiny screws that I never used. I understand the policy states clearly all original items and packaging but this is just one more reason to shop at amazon.

Decent stock, sucks that they phase out alot of stuff that's still slightly relevant like Firewire cable (who else should have it? This is why amazon is winning) and the staff is not knowledgeable. I recommend doing your research first, then checking stock and pulling up to purchase. Asking them anything will lead to you buying the wrong stuff.

Went in with my absolute zero computer knowledge looking for a solution. Was lucky enough to be helped by a guy named Mark M. I let him know that I knew nothing, he assured me it was no problem and using analogies I understood, basic explanations and a really kind demeanour he walked me through and got me everything I needed.
I’d highly recommend this store and if you have the chance try and see Mark M as he was so knowledgeable, kind and easy to work with.

Went in looking for help as I am new and don’t know anything.the customer service rep sold me a product that was not compatible with my system and it will not boot. Due to product being open they will exchange the product. Would advise you to order your products online as you can return them if they do not work.

I love this store. This store has helped me on my way to what I have achieved. Had a minor set back when roommate smashed one of my two monitors. But I’ll be back to pick up another one soon. If they don’t have what you’re looking for. I’ve never had an issue with them ordering me my parts. They’re helpful and know just what you need.

I never want to leave a bad review. But honestly I will never ever shop at this place again.

The customer service experience is terrible. Honestly just order from Amazon or shop at Best Buy. I really really was unhappy with the way I was treated today.

I placed an order for pick up to grab some RAM they have in stock. 1 hour and counting still haven't got confirmation that the item sitting right behind the counter is ready for me to pick up.

But its okay though the sit stand desk my wife ordered for pick up was ready in a half hour.

The guy outside the store couldn't even see my order ether. I just got a shrug from him.

I was told to come back tomorrow.we ordered our stuff at the same time and I can't believe it would take someone literally 18 hours to grab an item from a shelf.

Definitely not going back and wouldn't recommend anyone else does

This is constructive feedback. Your website says on a LOT of products these days like laptops and parts: "Final sale, no refund or exchange. " No thanks guys, the world has moved on. It's no surprise people are buying the same hardware elsewhere (even Amazon does 30 day returns on laptops, Costco does 90 days). Get with the times. Waiting for the policies to change before ever shopping with your stores again. Even Best Buy, dare one say, is now a better choice for pre-built systems.

I've had great service in store when buying my laptop a little while ago.but don't bother trying to call them. After multiple calls being left on hold (one being 1.5 hours) Id only guess they actively avoid the phone or have it on mute.

I would give the staff 5 stars outside of their lack of phone answering

I had excellent service today from the young man at the front of your store. Almost everyone waiting was very understanding of the new rules that require everyone to stand in line outside before getting served. Unfortunately one gentleman felt the rules didn't apply to him and tried cutting the line after waiting in his car while the rest of us waited in the cold. Your employee rightfully told him that he had to wait in line to be served but this one customer felt he should've been allowed to cut the line. After your employee refused to let him cut the line, this individual said he was going to complain. I'm writing this review to set the record straight as I don't want him to get in trouble over nothing. He was making sure it was fair for everyone following the rules that were very clearly laid out.

Today, I tried calling the website and the automated call said it was busy and they are not answering right now; couldn't even leave a voice message. Then I tried calling one of the stores and they just put me on hold. The website is also a mess I couldn't even checkout the parts that I wanted to buy.

Dealing with this location has taken on a nightmare-ish quality.

First Tuesday Dec 22nd I was attempting to reach them all day long to inquire about a product they had in stock. Sat on hold for 30 minutes twice. Never spoke with anyone.

I made it to the store and successfully purchased the components I was seeking.

Then on Monday Dec 28th. I returned to the store as there was an issue with the components. My newly built PC was not booting to BIOS. I was confident in the build and believed it must be one of the components.

The manger was not in any helpful. They were also not wearing a mask.

They refused to offer solutions and finally when fed up my partner said 'we'll just package everything up and return it' the manger responded with 'fine. ' $700.00 worth of components. So, not (I assume) a small sale.

I'll note that the manager also didn't mention any re-stocking fee. (Which I'm certain they must charge.)

Ultimately we solved the problem on our own. But part of what you pay for at a place like CC is the knowledge and expertise. (Such as it is.) And while a lockdown can make things more complicated it shouldn't be difficult for the manger to get a tech on the phone with us and try to talk us through it.

I'll never shop at this location again and I can't imagine many circumstances under which I'll return to any Canada Computers.

They are really low on stock for almost everything and their return policy is super weird around sale times which is very inconvenient if you are trying to run errands like normal. Just use amazon instead.

Used to be my go-to place for computer supplies. Just don't order online for in-store pickup. You will have absolutely zero priority in getting what you ordered.

I have found the staff to be very unprofessional at this location. My latest visit was to buy a new hard drive for my laptop and Mark behind the counter was very rude and derisive when asking about SSD's with hardware encryption. I have never had this experience at the Kanata location and will be going there from now on even if it’s a little further, at least I will enjoy my dialogue with the staff.

BEWARE! Deceptive business practices! I went in store to get some laptop ram that was on sale.they had to order it in and said it would be 7 to 10 business days. After calling them just now, they said it won't be here until may 30th, nearly 2 months AFTER I ordered the part. They told me on the phone that "there is nothing we can do, this is a special order". At no point did they EVER advise me that this was a special order, and I was told by the cashier that it would be 7 to 10 business days. I have witnesses that corroborate this. This is unprofessional, and I want my money back.

I'm giving this store four stars, because I'm sure it's a great place, even though it wasn't actually helpful for me. I was visiting Ottawa, and needed some networking components, so I asked around, and everybody recommended Canada Computers. Well first of all driving in Ottawa is miserable, getting anywhere is a major ordeal. Then when I got in, it seemed like an average technology store, only selling the most popular components that the general population is interested in, like D-Link and Linksys routers, for example. I couldn't find one item from my list that I needed (Ubiquiti brand components, bulk cabling, etc). But the guys I talked to were very nice, did their best to help me. I got the impression that this store is up and coming, not finished evolving yet, and in the future they may become the kind of store I'm looking for.

Tried calling 4-5 times from noon to four pm, still being ignored every time, head office had me in queu for 35 minutes then i finally got transferred (the phone started calling, i assumed a rep) and no one answered that either. Terrible company, terrible support.

Great stock. Prices vary alot. You could get better prices elsewhere online. Service is so-so especially when the nerd behind the counter on minimum wage says he has a way better pc than you do even if you spend 6k on a build, ya right you little lying $#! +. I rather shop online then get their BS. But they do have everything you need. Call first to get prices so you can price check online.

I decided to shop locally in Ottawa for a computer component I needed, so I dropped into this location. The experience I had with the supervisor, Sandra, was far from professional and it was a poor example to her employees on how to treat customers. She ignored me when I approached her and when I said "excuse me" she instructed me to go talk to a sales representative if I needed help. I thought this was a bit strange, but I put it aside. Next, the employee had to ask her for assistance on if they could sell a particular item. She immediately said it couldn't be sold, but didn't offer a solution (a similar item or another store). Her response was once again, inappropriate.

I sent an email to the Canada Computers corporate office in Toronto about my experience and no one responded. When I re-inquired they said the complaint had been sent to the store. The store manager never reached out to me, after I asked in my email.

This company clearly does not care about their customers. It is not a surprise that so many people are shopping on Amazon as opposed to having to deal with unpleasant employees in a retail store.

Stay far, far, away. Canada Computers has the worst service I’ve been asked to call them back with some information and as I was calling the first thing the lady said was “Canada Computers can you please hold? ” And I’ve spent 20 minutes on hold and decided to call back again some other time but this time they hanged up right away. They acknowledge that there is a customer that’s needs help but decided that they have better things to do (such as doing nothing at all).

Great store for computer hardware and decent prices. When I want to "nerd out" and learn more about new technologies and potential purchases, their staff have been wonderfully knowledgable, patient and helpful.

They tend to have a larger selection than their other stores in Ottawa because well, it's a bigger store. Made the drive out here a few times when I couldn't find the part I needed at the location in Kanata.

Always have great experiences when I go here, from the repairs I've had done by Dylan, to Ryan's tremendous customer service! I can't stop recommending anyone looking for anything techy to go here. Both Ryan and Dylan have helped me both save money, and have a great computer setup.

Worst customer service.many of them are good but I had a horrible experience dealing with one representative. He constantly interupted me and at one point he yelled at me for a quote I was asking for and said I should stop and let him do his job in front of other staff and customers. Just go to other location. Who does this guy think he is speaking to customers like that.

Ordered a Chromebook on Black Friday for my son as a Christmas gift. Out of stock at the time but said it would arrive in time for the holidays. Since I live in the east end I went to the Orleans location, paid in full and asked them when it came in at the Merivale location to let me know and send it to the Orleans store.
When I didn't hear anything by Dec 22, I was assured it would arrive by Dec 27. I was on holidays and returned January 3. I hadn't heard anything during the holidays so I went in the Orleans location. When they checked on my order, they told me not only did the Chromebook arrive at the Merivale store, but the staff there sold it to someone even though they were aware it was a paid order for someone else! Amazing display of incompetent customer service! Got my money back but at no point was there an apology or any attempt to rectify the issue. I try to support local and Canadian when I can, but when someone's stupidity disappoints my kid and a promise I made for Christmas, and furthermore don't try to retain my business, I'll call them out every time. Stay away from the Merivale Rd location for sure. Personally I'll never shop or recommend Canada Computers.

I went in yesterday to get the parts for a full build and the process was pretty good (they price matched my Zotac RTX 2080 TI with a mom and pop shop out of Toronto) with the exception of buying my case as online said there was one new one in stock but it was actually the display model. The gentleman helping me assured me that the display model came with everything but it was missing more than half of the screws. Another gentleman told me that the heatsink I grabbed was useless for the the 8700k and came back with different heatsink that he promised would work great. It wasn't made for my socket type and had to take it back. It was hassle- free unlike when I had to return a DOA dvd drive eight years ago. They returned it without a hassle and there wasn't a restocking fee

Worst place ever. Spent 1500.00 here and they were very helpful when spending the money. Now I have a problem with an item 4 days later and they will not take it back (even though they told me 10 days return on everything I bought) because it "works" for them but not for me. Terrible business ethics. Would recommend to go somewhere else.
