Canada Moving - Hinton the Mover Windsor Branch

Quoted a price and weight - said he was a professional over 20 years. We sold most of our stuff including the biggest heaviest items - whole bedroom sets granite table. Canoes, furniture. All kitchen items were quoted in and we sold it. They came the day of moving aggressively packed up out boxes. Dropped my boxes from waist height onto the dolly - the one guy actually threw the box like it needed to be thrown into position.
Our weight was somehow 3000lbs above the original quote and the cost was more then double.
What a scam - move stuff yourself - pay some friends - rent a truck it’s easy - these are scammers. Many things were damaged but what can you do? I couldn’t check everything they would have had to wait days.

We had to borrow money to get our items back - I wish we just sold it all and repurchased - what a scam!

Wow! $6858,00 to move 1 partial living room of items 2 hours away? WOW!
We Called Allied Van Movers, and they put us in touch with these overly expensive movers.
We just got an absolutely outrageous $6858.00 quote to move my 90 yr old mothers living room items, wall units, 12 boxes of figurines and books plus a dining room table and chairs. These mover's quoted us outrageously - $6858.00.for 1 room of furnishings. NO appliances!
The items are not even worth that much and they are expecting an 90 yr old senior pensioner to pay close to $7000 to move these items 2 hours away? !? The quote claims the pictures I sent to them were estimated at 6000 lbs of weight. Surely that's not correct.
At these prices we might as well sell items and purchase all brand new.and we would still save money, instead of paying close to seven thousand dollars to move 2 hours away.
RIP OFF!
We wont be using Hinton the Mover or Allied Van Movers at these prices.
OUTRAGEOUS. Considering we've already packed and boxed up everything when we put items in a 10 x 15 storage locker until Covid ended.so they just had to transport items and drop them off 2 hours away from pick up location,

Team showed up on time and got right at it. They worked well together and, despite February cold/wind, etc worked carefully through the day and to the greatest extent handled everything, including the walls (!) very well. As I has a relocation services background I was able to help out with coordination/packing and support for them. Overall I'd use them again.

I had high hopes for this company, however the day of my move, one of the movers was extremely slow (moving one item at a time in the truck) and I witnessed he had to be re-directed many times to get moving (they charge per hour). Also, I noticed the time started from when they left the facility to my home was 45 min and originally was quoted it would only take approx. 15 min to get there (again, everything is timed). I was also told that the $2000 I paid covered everything, but then 2 weeks later I find a charge of $406.80 and apparently that's the storage cost for 1 month! When I brought this to their attention, I was told it was explained.it was not. If I had known this earlier, I def would have went with another company. Almost $3000 to move.def not worth the price. Will update once I get my items delivered to my new home.

I worked there about 6 months best company ever.specially manager john is a good person and all employes are helpfull and friendly.

We have used Hinton The Mover on more then one occasion have have never been disappointed. Our last move at the end of March was no different. The team was right on time and fast. They were knowledgeable and friendly and had our well being and protection of our furniture as their primary concern. I cannot praise them highly enough. And the office staff and manager were just as helpful. We would consider no other moving company in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality experience in moving at a fair price.

I would never use this company again, and will certainly not get any referrals. Very unprofessional, and most of my furniture was damaged. The movers had no respect for our property. 8 months to try and get them to pay to have my furniture repaired. They paid for some of it. Would have been nice if they just did the right thing, but that never happened. No referrals from me!

This moving company was phenomenal. They sent us three very hard working crew guys. Their names were George, Kevin and Ron. They moved a two bedroom apartment in exactly three hours. After adding the driving time, we were charged for three and a half hours. Not bad! I would recommend Hinton the Mover to anyone. These guys wasted no time during the move. They didn't stand around talking. Nor did they waste any time by working slowly. They were also very friendly and sociable. I would request this crew do make your next move. They work well together. They were also a very friendly and sociable crew.

I contacted them to get a quote and was told 110$ an hour and they would email me the quote. The quote included 150$ for gas (its a 1.3km move in total as well as from the place of business to my residence is less then 10km) and 160$ an hour quoting 1600$. Every other quote I received was between 600 and 800$ less given the volume, and distance.

Contact hinton if you would like to pay double what anybody else local is charging.

The movers, a friendly and professional team of 3, was on time and took extra are of my belongings. The movers carefully wrapped and transported items and furniture unharmed. They assisted in the placement of items throughout the house. I will definitely recommend as well as use Hinton the Mover's services again in the future. Well worth the price.

I would give no stars if it was an option. My husband called 3 times to try to get a quote from them and at the last second they called him to cancel on him. VERY UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL.

Hired these guys for a quick move recently and will definitely be using them again. They were very punctual, professional, very efficient and will be using them to move into my new home when it’s ready. I intend to request the same group that came this time. All good guys!

This is a very professional moving company. The Consultant arrived on time.
He was dressed like a businessman. He was courteous and very respectful. He was thorough and made some good suggestions since I was doing my own packing. I felt assured and at ease in making my decision to go with HINTON. Everything has been done in a timely manner. They were able to accommodate my move out of town for the end of August in an extremely short time frame. Thank you HINTON. I am a long time senior and must say the stress level of moving subsided when I signed up with HINTON.

Unfortunately I've had to resign from Hinton for personal reasons but I like to add a few words. When you join this working environment, the atmosphere is absolutely pleasant. Everybody has a great time, making jokes, having fun, while also maintaining professional standards. Now I've heard some horror stories of other Moving enterprises, wrecking walls, scratching stairs, but Hinton the Mover takes so many extra precautions tk avoid such minor inflictions. I can assure you that even when it may seem like we are relaxing and having fun we are giving the customers belongings the UTMOST care. Everytime I have personally worked on a move I have never seen any cut corners nor have I ever seen anybody give up even when thing's may seem impossible. These workers do everything they can to maintain the utmost care and along the way, we've gotten to meet some very kind and interesting customer's who go above and beyond to treat us with respect. I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend anybody I know and anybody I meet to contact Hinton the Mover for even the smallest job. No matter how big or small the task Hinton finds a way around every obstacle and takes every measure to guarantee customer satisfaction. These men and women are the hardest, most dedicated working people I know and I can't even begin to explain the skills and capabilities I have learned working here. I just wish I could stay with the comlany and the teammates for much much longer. Hinton the Mover deserves a 11/10 star rating but 5/5 will do.
