Canadian Automotive Museum

I brought my 4 kids (12,10,7,5) over the Christmas break, we thought it was great! It is small and a little cramped but overall it was interesting and fun. It would have taken my younger kids about an hour to go through the place, my older two are solid readers and asked questions as we went, it took them about an hour and a half and they could have stayed an extra 30 minutes easily.
Hope that helps, would definitely go back, easy to find, parking on premise. If you needed to grab a bite to eat head to the white apron.

Très bon musée! Les panneaux sont en anglais et français! Il y a pas mal de véhicules à l'intérieur (on ne dirait pas vu de l'extérieur)

Great collection of Canadian cars from the late 1800s onwards. Amanda is an awesome tour guide - very knowledgeable! Learnt a lot about electric cars - did you know that the first electric car was built in 1898 and made completely out of wood?

Great museum with some truly unique older cars. I would absolutely go back and spend more time there.

Nice little museum with a nice selection of locally and domestically built cars. Nice to learn what was made in Canada and some general automotive history.
Staff was friendly and ready to answer any questions we had.

Packed with interesting displays with great stories and cars. Kids and adults alike loved it

Great place to visit, and the lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful. I only wish there was a little more space so I could see the cars tucked in the corners.other than that I highly recommend.

The collections are awesome. Also the range of cars. From classic to new, gas cars, electric, hybrid. It's definitely worth a visit.

Small museum but really interesting stuff in there. Definitely do visit it if you are around.

Nice collection of cars and love reading up on the history.

My entire family are gear heads and we decided to pop in. It was a pleasant surprise to see so many vehicles tucked inside this tiny building.

Note: walk around the car when you get back. We had 2 homeless people sleeping beside our car and my kids were not expecting it.

The museum is an excellent place to visit. My purpose was to be introduced to the automotive history of Canada. Coming up close with the cars was an enhanced experience. The staff was helpful and friendly.

This was a great experience. We visited today family day. My only issue is that the person at the front counter wasn’t friendly. She seemed angry at my son’s excitement and that he initially wasn’t listening to her - he is 6, has ADHD and got excited when he entered the building. My husband and I both noticed and got uncomfortable by the way she looked at him.

Collection: - very good alteast 70-90 cars.

How much time needed: - probably 1 hr to 1hr 30 mins

Negative: - the only reason I am giving 4 star is the place is very small. There were many cars I wanted to see from different view angle but couldn't see because they were far placed or were behind the rope.

Overall I will say was a good way to spend my weekend afternoon.

Great place to visit for people who appreciate history and cars. All vehicles are not show quality but are in good condition and do an excellent job to show the automobile development over time.friendly staff and nice building.thanks for preserving the past for younger generations to explore and experience.

Nice place great collection. Ask for a guided tour if you can as they have passionate volunteers.

The museums is not that big. The collection is cool. However 15 dollars per person is a bit pricey.

We have a strong heritage of being creative inventors and entrepreneurs. This is clearly seen in the Canadian Automotive Museum. The facility is small but full of history about Canadian cars.

Nice little museum in oshawa. Only 2 floors, and not particularly large, Definitely interesting place for automotive history buffs, car lovers and/or those looking for some nostalgia. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the pieces on hand.

Love it, love it. This is truly worth visiting place. So many cars starting from the time GM started making theirs cars. Not only that but have variety of other manufacturers.

Great experiences to see many antique vehicles in such a small but nice place. All vehicles are arranged very well, and each with a sign to introduce the year, brand, and details. Staff are all extremely friendly and knowledgible, they introduced overall the museum to us at the entrance, so we can get the big picture, and before we leave, they answered all our questions patiently. Overall a superb museum and we worth to be back again!

Love the history of the building and construction of new posts due to unusual and a great day today I will have the opportunity to work on this one

Not a big place, but an amazing display of interesting cars, and lots of history to read. Don't let the size of the place fool you; you can spend a whole day there. A must-see for lovers of automotive history!

Very interesting tour of some of the automotive history of Oshawa. The tour was a perfect amount of time. The walking isn't very far. I had a teenager with me and he was getting bored near the end but thankfully the tour ends inside so he took off to explore while I listened to the guide until the end. I've lived in Oshawa all my life and this was the first time I have been to the museum. Very neat if you have never been. Ticket prices are reasonable and the admission goes to helping keep the museum and cars here in Oshawa.

The tour is very worth it, the tour guide was absolutely knowledgeable in the history of Oshawa and the automotive industry. The staff are very passionate and the car collection is simply stunning. The museum is not funded by anyway, purely by donation, I would really recommend anyone to check out this place and to support this place for generations to come.

I highly recommend this place for adults and older kids, it’s very interesting museum.

Really cool place to check out if you're just passing through or live in the area! Great for any car lover or history-buff. Has a lot to look at and colouring for the kids who get a little board. Lightning McQueen was a big hit for sure!

If you want to see a bit of canadian history and the love of old cars come here. I did the walking tour which was very interesting learning about how General motors company started.

Great professional staff members, excellent knowledgeable guide answering all your questions, real musem with the very earlier cars, amazing place as overall, I do strongly recommend it for a visit, it's worth it.

Visit visit to the Canadian Automotive Museum included an informative tour. Learned so much about Canada's car history including 1920s electric cars. So impressive to see the historical car designs in person, you don't realize how big some of the cars/engines were until you are standing beside them. Great day trip for a "date night" or for any car loving family.

Had a nice afternoon visiting this museum in Oshawa. It’s small enough that you don’t feel overwhelmed, with interesting displays that let you learn about automobiles and the history of Oshawa. We even got a free tour from a board member/volunteer.

This place is great for car fans and non-car lovers. There is so much to look at and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting.

The place is packed with cars of all ages and tons of information of Canadian car history. But the biggest attraction was the life size Lightning McQueen.

Underrated spot! We decided to stop here as we were driving from Toronto to Quebec city, and we're glad we did. There are so many classic cars crammed into this building.

Great collection of cars. It could’ve been arranged a lot better. Some of the greatest cars like the Rolls Royce and Ford model T is all placed in an awkward way that you can’t take a good picture.

Great selection of vehicles and we'll maintained. Very pushy on the donation venue though, with a box every ten feet or so. With a charge to enter, and not a cheap entry, should only have the donation box at the exit.

It was alright but the riff raff outside hounding you for spare change and the constant worry about your windows being smashed took the fun out of it.

Love this place. Took my son and his friends there. Tickets are reasonably price. Lots of classic car. 3xoect to spend about 1 hour there.

Been here a few times now. The entry fee is reasonable and the staff are really friendly. Lots of cars to look at. A lot of parking.
