What an amazing place, it is so well set up for kids. Tons of things for them to see and interact with. I could have stayed there for 2 more days to see everything.

Well-stocked and organized museum on 5 floors.
Qualified and professional staff in giving the right indications.
For the little ones it is a wonderful experience that I recommend doing.
Fantastic

The entire exhibition of the animals is excellent and very good organization and information about them.

Still one of the most amazing museums I've ever visited! We went as kids and loved it and from the crowds when we went it's popular with them.we did go on free night though
The earth and moon are pretty amazing (you'll see what I mean)
The dinosaur room has one that looks like a creature from Doctor Who, and there's a giant sea turtle with articulated back plates. I feel like I know where some sci-fi movies for their ideas.
Downstairs there is a display of bugs (the leafcutter ant display is small but really interesting) and also washrooms, a bunch of soft benches to sit down and have a rest, and a theatre.
Highly recommend this; and if you miss free day and have to pay give yourself a few hours as there is a lot to take in. Buy tickets online; you'll need a ticket to enter free also but that's on the website too.

Nice indoor reprieve from a hot day in Ottawa. A little on the pricey side, but isn't everything these days. I didn't understand why the exhibit on the top floor cost extra - so we didn't go. Loved the bird floor.

A must visit place with a immense educational importance. The dinosaur section is pretty awesome. Staff members are friendly and helpful. The place also got its own large parking space. Street parking is also available at Argyle Ave and McLeod Street which is free on weekends. Don't forget to check in the "bugs alive" section on the basement.

Great place to visit for kids and adults alike. It's a fun and educational walk through. It takes about 2 hours but you can stay as long as you like. Hands on area where you can actually touch some underwater creatures. Definitely worth a visit.

You don't need to go inside the Museum of Nature to enjoy it. From the outside you can see and learn about dinosaurs, woolly mammoths, icebergs and the tundra. The museum's gothic style architecture has many spectacular carvings of native species of animals on its exterior walls. Including; the musk ox, bear, beaver. There is lots of places for kids to run around and enjoy being outside in a park and put down a blanket to enjoy a family picnic. Don't think it is allowed to fire up a bbq though. The outside is just a taste, so why not go inside too

Inside is great.

Amazing place! Endless hours of exploring, learning, and fun! Great for families and kids will love it! Bring lunch or takeout so you can spend entire day there. So much to see! Enjoy

Absolutely a must see, must buy tickets on line, have proof of Vax, the place is magical with plenty to see and explore, paid parking so it may cost $3 each 30 minutes, it figures one needs at least 2 hours inside.

There's lots to see at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Bring the kids they will love it. It's a great place to see things close up. Somethings they might even be learning at school. I've been hear on many occasions. It's really a lot of fun. If you're children have a field trip at school to the Canadian Museum of Nature, encourage them to go. Sometimes the kids might be asked to bring their lunch. It's a wonderful experience. God Bless you all, Cheers.

It’s huge! When I saw the building, I didn’t think the museum would be that big, but it is. It’s well sectioned into different themes. We were doing a Halloween scavenger hunt and my daughter had lots of fun. I found the top floor - space and the Arctic the most interesting and unique, but could barely comprehend anymore info by that point. I would really advise on two visits if possible.
They had an owl exhibit outside and that was great too. Loved seeing the owls.
Wish the cafe was open.

Loved it. It is a great and beautifully designed museum. With lots to see, play and interact with for kids. Membership is worthwhile if you live in the Ottawa area.

Incredible Museum ️️
I have learnt a lot about the nature, earth. Ocean, animals and the world. Strongly recommending to visit this Museum if you come to Ottawa.

Must visit place! They put a lot of effort to restore it, just by looking at all those detail, thank you all the staffs behind the scenes!

I great museum. Lots of reading and less activities especially during the pandemic. I don’t recommend bringing your toddlers if they are loud.
There is a new owl exhibit where you can see different owls!

The museum is always a fun time to go to! We went on Thursday evening when it was free from 5-8pm. We also visited the butterfly exhibit and the sloth exhibit. The butterflies was a great experience but we found the sloth was a bit sad. As I always find when you see animals in captivity a sad sight. It will probably be the last time I go on a Thursday during the holidays as some of the children were out of control, pulling on cabinets, walking AND sitting on the edge were you read all the documentation about the animals and mammals. As well I can't tell you how many times I heard a parent say in a worried voice "OMG where did Patrick go, " and nervously walk around saying their child's name aloud as they lost them.

I think all adults need to go to Nature nocturne as it's a fun adult experience for adults of any age. But a huge thank you to all employees and volunteers at the museum for everything you do, your hard work that Thursday evening did not go unnoticed and I hope you all had a glass of wine afterwards when you went home!

Love this museum. The staff from security up are fantastic. The static galleries have enough engagement and refreshment that my kids 4 and 5 yrs never get bored and the guest exhibits are never disappointing. The slow exhibit currently there is amazing and informative. Parents should struggle to get bored too.

Liked it too bad special exhibits not free on thursdays like others are but paying 5.00 extra is not a bad thing. Either way funto see dinosaurs wish more on them. New exhibits not my thing

Saw generational preserved knowledge in pictures, documentaries and dummy creatures that eases learning, appreciation of life and nature in different facets and stages. Very educative and recommended as part of educational curri

It was right next to out hotel and the building looked amazing from the outside every time we passed it. When i finally got a chance to go inside, i wasn't disappointed. The exhibits are really cool. The have live animals in there too. Don't miss the special exhibits and the presentations. I found the Fossil gallery and the mammal gallery, the best. If you have kids who, please take them here, they will learn so much about ao many aspects of nature.

Very big Museum cool to look at all the different artifacts. There are many pictures and posters and mostly sculptures. Its fun place to go to once but not a lot or else it gets boring.

Amazing building with something interesting, for both kids and adults, on each side of each floor. There's elevators for strollers or an impressive staircase. The food was excellent in the cafe and the gift shop had lots of quality items. We spent quite a few hours with our young kids.

Expo papillon est bien, salle un peu petite mais ca vaut quand même la peine de visiter.je suis contente d'être allée un jeudi soir pendant que l'entrée au musée était gratuite.

My husband and I decided to drive to Ottawa and check out the Butterfly exhibit that was on at the Nature Museum. We had never been to the Museum, so we wandered through various floors/exhibits until our time to go to the Butterfly exhibit.we really enjoyed it. Loved the giant jellyfish suspended that could be seen from outside on the street, and loved the Water floor. So many cool things to see. The Butterflies were amazing.

The special butterfly exhibit was the best. Live butterflies everywhere of all colours.
The permanent exhibits show case animals from across Canada really nicely.
There is a huge exhibit just dedicated to birds across Canada.

10 December 2018 6:23
Well presented collection of thematically organised themes about Canada's nature; from geology and paleontology to ecology and the Arctic. The dinosaur fossil collection is amazing and the highlight; but the other themes are very interesting too. The museum is very well suited for children with lots of interactive displays and games. You need at least two hours to see it all.
08 December 2018 3:06
4 floors of learning, spread out across the animal kingdom. Layout is very easy to manage and very open. Exhibits were well looked after and plenty of interactive things for kids.

Great for kids and adults alike! We took our young child for the better part of a day. Unfortunately, one of the areas we were hoping to make use of was closed for a special exhibit that wasn't yet open, and the front desk staff did not inform us at all about what was open and closed. To me, that should be an assumed part of your job, not just processing your entry fee. Parking is limited and tight.
10 November 2018 21:08
Had a great afternoon at the museum. Perhaps we should have arrived earlier as we only went to half the exhibits. My 7yo thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
Recommend the butterfly exhibit if it's open when you go. Yes, there's a relatively small additional cost, but it's an up close view of these beautiful creatures.

I love that this museum is very child-oriented and very educational. The building itself is gorgeous. The best part is that it’s free every Thursday from 17: 00-20: 00.

One of the more unique museums in Ottawa. The old building gives this site a special appearance. There are multiple exhibitions in the museum with some stalwart exhibits like the dinosaurs and the regional dioramas.

We tried to see the live butterfly exhibit but it gets sold out early.

Parking can be troublesome as their two lots aren’t very big. Sometimes street parking nearby is the best option.

We had our wedding at the Canadian Museum of Nature and it was phenomenal. The venue space was gorgeous and the staff were exceptional, especially our event coordinator. I would recommend this venue for any event.
