I've been a Canadian Tire customer for over forty years now and the staff and management will still view me as a one time customer. (ever felt that way?) Over the years I've seen a lot of things such as the Mastercraft, Motomaster labelling scheme, the retailing of often defective and low quality merchandise and the ridiculous mark-ups as well the awful yet carefully thought out return policies designed to protect all of the above and their bottom line. Of course the staff here is carefully trained to support the policies (after all would you want your customer returning a $4.00 item which they have paid $89.00 for even though you can easily return it to your supplier for a credit? I think not) this is where instore credits come in magnificently (buy something else for around the same deal) lol. Of course you cannot price match identical items when Canadian Tire packages them differently or puts a different name on them (motomaster, mastercraft etc.etc) and the staff is all too pleased to point out the fallacy that they are different. In my opinion this isn't much more than a glorified dollar store with excessive packaging on often tiny penny items and huge markups. They don't care at all about repeat customers and seem to be completely bottom line oriented. That is all wonderful if you are the CEO of Canadian Tire and making well into six figures a year running the show.

I now buy 95% of products online. Things probably made in some of the same factories in China with the same and sometimes even better quality control etc. The savings and satisfaction and returns have been absolutely exceptional and the best part is everything delivered to my door quickly and returns without leaving house and without question. This is the new paradigm

Some of their staff are particularly rude almost seem annoyed that you are there asking them questions. John on the automotive desk was very condescending and unhelpful. I’ve also had issues returning items such as my kids bike which was defective. One worker tried to charge me for my own minnow bucket and accused me of stealing minnows two separate occasions.

I realize it is a busy time of the year for Snow tires and tire swaps, I get that, but when a customer needs a very small issue fixed on a single tire that i was willing to drop off, maybe you can't fix the issue that day, but at least offer to fix a leak within a couple days and try to squeeze 1 tire in.
It's called customer service, sometimes you need to think outside the box. I I was given a date of a month from now to fix a small leak in 1 tire. So I decided to call Cooks Auto, a family run garage in Keswick. They explained to me it was a very busy time of the year, but if I left the tire, they would do their best to fit it in. Within 1 day, they called me and my single tire was repaired.
Thank you Cooks Auto, for showing true customer service and caring about your customers, you have a new customer and I will make sure I spread the word.
I do not recommend Canadian tire for your automotive needs.
I highly recommend Cooks Auto for all your automotive needs including tires.
Thank you, Allan.

Really bad experience with return a product within 7 days which is not good for me …. Staff not professional and really rude
29 August 2023 15:39
My son in laws birthday was coming up and I wanted to surprise him with a gift of a snowblower. I live in Alberta and it was August. I called the Keswick store and they happened to have one on hand. Shawna (hope the spelling is right) coordinated the sale, assembly and delivery of the snowblower on the afternoon of his birthday. It was a surprise gift and she took the time to contact my daughter to make the delivery arrangements. Thank you Shawna and your team for making this possible!

Superb Canadian Tire! They have everything you need and they even put this Canadian Tire in the best location! The store is always clean and their stuff is just high quality products! They also fixed our vehicle perfectly at the Canadian Tire Garage!

Had an amazing day and such friendly staff! I recommend this Canadian Tire then the one in Newmarket
27 May 2023 13:19
The store is clean and bright. The aisles are closer and product hubs are closer together then your average store, but the upside is they pack more options for items in the store. I've been in here multiple times and was able to find what I was looking for. Recent visit needed help finding some items and the employee was polite, helpful and pointed me in the right direction.
13 May 2023 19:17
I called the Newmarket location five times in a half hour and no one answered the phone. I called this location and they picked up the phone on the first ring. I asked for an appointment in the afternoon on that same day, and they fit me in… When I arrived, I was greeted immediately they gave me an estimated time of one hour, and they were done in one hour… even though they ran into a problem that was unforeseen. They called me and proceeded to fix my problem… Excellent customer service five star recommendation.
28 December 2022 13:38
What’s wrong with the teenager girl at the cashier, very bad working attitude towards the closing time. Plz be more responsible and well trained.
02 December 2022 7:16
Staff is limited at this location. I ran in for a quick purchase and had to wait six minutes until someone answered my shout-outs. The gentleman who took me to the product I was looking for, was very helpful and courteous.
The cash line up is long and winding, just to get to it. When I got there, there were two register cashiers working and two ladies at the cashier/customer service desk. Only one was with a customer the others were talking or taking care of something more important than their customers.
My quick purchase took me longer than fifteen minutes to buy.
27 November 2022 14:54
I have never in my life been in a store where staff so badly want customers to leave empty handed. How is this store still in business?
17 August 2022 8:50
I took my car here for a safety inspection. I dropped my car off at 11am and I specifically told them I need my car back today as I had an important day at work the next day. They told me it would take 1-2 hours, no one called me all day so I went back to check on it only to be told I can't have my car back because the tech has left for the day and my car was in the air. Nobody called me to tell me. I lost a big contract because of this. The next day when I went to pick up my car the tech gave me attitude because he got in trouble for not calling me. The worst part of the whole situation was the tech (Raymond) failed my car for items he said that were needed eventhough these items were done 2 days before bringing in my car. He said I need new brake pads eventhough the pads on their were less than 2 days old. Then he put i declined everything eventhough once again nobody asked me anything. He knew I wasn't to go for it because he wanted to charge me $3000 to change a licence plate light bulb, install new pads (eventhough they were brand new) and a couple of small things. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO EVER BRING THEIR VEHICLE HERE EVER. As for the store part they were amazing, very helpful in locating what I need and very friendly. Its a shame that their auto department makes them all look bad. My advice teach your tech Raymond and Dan on how to speak to customers and don't automatically assume the customer is dumb and try to take advantage of them. The tech I dealt with was very condescending and spoke to me like I dont have a clue eventhough I'm a 3 yr mechanic but I didn't say anything because I wanted to see how far he would go. While I was waiting in line I could hear atleast 3 customers complaining about how bad their service was with the auto department. The store manager knows me because I'm there almost everyday buying parts and poor him had to do damage control for your techs poor work ethic. Before I forget you should give Eric a pat on the back because eventhough he was in training his customer service was phenomenal and I didn't appreciate when he was getting attitude from Raymond and Dan the next day because he spoke with me. If it wasn't for Eric and his amazing customer service this review would have been much worse.
16 August 2022 6:25
Ii was in the garden centre this morning and Liam was phenomenal! All I needed was soil but he took initiative and truly made it one of the single best customer service experiences I have ever had. Knowledgeable, took initiative, personable and compassionate. It really made my day!
13 May 2022 23:58
Well stocked, clear implementation of covid protocols, knowledgeable staff, always a good experience.
20 April 2022 9:25
Its my go to store for most things. They didn't have what I was looking for on this particular visit but they still got me on some impulse buys! Mask free shopping finally!
19 April 2022 1:56
Don't honor the posted prices on their shelves, 3 people standing around talking, and nobody to organize the aisle where nothing is the right price. Won't be giving them my money again
18 April 2022 18:54
Empty shelves. Not family friendly, no public washroom. Had to rush my little guy home. Guess I'll spend my money elsewhere.
30 March 2022 9:46
Changing my review to 5 star after a young employee named Owen offered great service with a smile and knowledge of the store. Great work. Good experience over the years. Good sized store and auto service center.they have a very large full sized Gas Bar with propane.
25 March 2022 21:21
Went to this location to get the product in the image and the manager told us they couldn’t get the product because it’s not available till the garden centre open pretty bad just lost a sale for 15-20 bags of garden stone
20 March 2022 4:23
Thank you so much to the staff tonight who took me in last minuet to fix a flat tire. Very respectful and would highly recommend this Canadian Tire location.
09 March 2022 9:15
Can't recommend Canadian tire ever. Only time I would go there is if something is on sale. So if you need something from the store, it's best to check their flyer and see if it's on sale.
19 December 2021 21:13
Hit and miss if the item you want is even in stock, tired of going there to find empty shelves so take my money elsewhere
08 November 2021 13:52
It's not a bad store, actually the layout is quiet nice. I just wish the staff was more knowledgeable.

For that reason alone I end up going to Home Hardware first for thier knowledge. I save this location for last. I just wish they had the knowledge part down because I would go there first.
14 September 2021 15:11
Very organized store. You will find all what you are looking for sports camping and your car. Still you will find very good deals 50% and 75%. However for regular prices it will be higher than other chains like Wal-Mart and Costco.
Employees are knowledgeable and helpful and available to help you any time.
23 August 2021 21:48
People here are always super helpful and will direct you to what you need or tell you where to get it if they don't have it!
23 August 2021 2:27
The store is full and has a nice selection, staff is helpful until you get to the automotive desk. Try at all cost to avoid the gentleman with the grey hair. He is always in a fowl mound and will ruin yours.
30 July 2021 23:15
Went in for a safety check and a Federal Inspection for a vehicle I imported. They told me the wheels had to be balanced to pass the safety check.lol I had just driven 2,500km with it so questioned them about it being required so then they said that the wheel weights fell off all 4 wheels when they drove it onto their lift. Yeah.

4 business days later I go to register the vehicle at Service Ontario and after an hour of my time and $10 parking I learn that Canadian Tire hasn't submitted their copy of the paperwork yet. Looks like I'm taking more time off next week. Thanks CTC!

On a previous occasion they installed a rear wiper blade that was "needed to pass the Ontario Safety Check". Wonder how sedans pass inspection without a rear wiper?

It's both laughable and sad. I guess they aren't interested in return customers.
19 July 2021 22:36
Just wanted to give a shout out to Heather and Ahmed for the great customer service today. On our way home from vacation, our alternator went. They were very helpful and understanding with having our two young kids with us.

Service was 10/10!

Thank you so much, Greatly Appreciated!
17 July 2021 4:14
I have been going to the Keswick Canadian tire for over 20 years. And the other day I was there return a product, and the girl at the front door was very rude to me, telling me to stand on the posted Mark's on the floor, get 6 feet away from the person in front of me, witch I was probably 7 or 8 feet away. Then the girl at the return desk was rude also. Sad to see from my local Canadian tire store. Very disappointed. And they are breaking the law refusing people with a mask exemption.
I do and will not shop at organizations like this Canadian tire store that don't follow the law.
15 July 2021 20:26
Today o bought a pair of chairs from Canadian tire keswick, the chairs sizes was large and I couldn't to move in my car, then i went to customers service section to explain my problem, after that the arranged me a truck for moving the chairs to my house.i would appreciate them and really they r very friendly and nice team. Thanks alot guysitocustomers service section to
01 March 2021 3:54
Purchased online, they sent me a email that pick up is ready. Pulled into designated park and had my product in five minutes. Excellent!
26 February 2021 0:21
Dont you love that canadian tire is selling defective products knowing people cant return or exchange them! I was sold an obviously broken heater and refused an exchange for a working one and now I wont be getting eggs for a few weeks because the chickens will be too cold to lay and obviously I'm not going to spend the money right now for another defective product when I cant do anything about it! Canadian tire will always be crooks!

EDIT/RESPONCE:

I will not be shopping at canadian tire anymore. I will shop at home depot and Lowe's!
20 February 2021 20:55
This is a busy location, with adequate staffing and available supply. I often order online and arrange pickup now, they never keep me waiting too long and are well organized.
10 February 2021 5:32
This establishment is very disappointing to deal with. Never bring new tires or rims here they damage them after saying they are qualified to do so. Still waiting to be reimbursed for rim they damaged!
05 February 2021 13:40
I purchased a Misty Mountain winter coat a few weeks ago and called to inquire about a straight exchange as the zipper is defective and will not zip up anymore and was told they are doing no returns or exchanges for at least a couple of months.
This is very frustrating as I am an essential worker and I work outside in the cold and now with a coat I cant zip up.
29 January 2021 13:01
Pretty straightforward curbside pickup. I called ahead to ask how it works. Quick turn around. The store had what I desperately needed, much appreciated.
25 January 2021 22:53
Been here several times, each time items listed on sale are never on display or in the isle location. Then when you ask any employee it's about a 10% chance they will help you. Always get the "not my department or we must be sold out" answers. Also this store has a cellphone signal blocker, so forget about looking anything up while in the building.

Now with curbside pickup due to Covid, your stuck waiting hours for simple orders. I ordered 2 items and it's now going on 2+hours and still haven't received an email stating the order is ready!
Best to save your time and patience and go to the Newmarket location.
24 January 2021 20:34
Canadian Tire at Keswick much different than those I've been to in Barrie.enjoyed the experience buying two snow tires.no pressure to have them installed there.just pleasant small town service. Doubt they have the selections Barrie stores have, but much more plesant and no attempt to upsell to things i didn't want! Work in Georgina at GTS and I will go back, was impressed.
22 January 2021 15:39
Got to love the staff there there doing everything that they can with Covid lock down curb side pick up to still please the customer thank you for working!
07 January 2021 23:27
No point in getting appointments because it still takes 2 hours to do a simple tire change. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE'S TIME. WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE. PAY $30 EXTRA AT ANY MR. LUBE at least they don't waste your Saturdays
03 January 2021 23:18
Bought tires at a great price, booked in for service but they where running way behind due to unforeseen problems with a customer before me so I had them installed elsewhere
07 December 2020 15:29
Was really in need of something and darrel helped out so much he found exactly what I needed and even put it aside. Thank you Darrel you’re the best!
06 December 2020 1:42
You can not use the washroom. Nor can you use the washroom in Canadian Tire Gas Station. They will recommend you to use the washroom in Rexall.
29 November 2020 8:01
This Canadian Tire makes it nearly impossible to do a price match. First thing they told me was sorry you already bought it you can't price match it. Final cherry was store manager telling me that their canadian tire didnt have item in stock so they cant help! Wow terrible manager/management here! Owner seems like he's super cheap and really penny pinching here.people asking to use washroom and owner has them closed of course. Whoever is the dealer here, corporate please look into his practices.

• Visit a Canadian Tire store within 30 days of purchase with your receipt (or 14 days if matching to another Canadian Tire store)
• Show a store associate the Local Competitor’s offer for the Identical Item using a website ad or flyer

Seems him nor his staff dont know the corporate policies.
15 November 2020 11:48
I wish I could give 0 stars. Ordered curbside pickup from store. They sent me confirmation email beforehand saying items ready for pickup. Drove two hours to store and found out they couldn't find my order and the item was never in stock to begin with
07 November 2020 8:23
I have gone here on several occasions and every time I have had to ask for help (3 times now) I have been treated rudely by unprofessional, unknowledgeable staff. I refuse to deal here anymore, I will take the extra time to drive to Newmarket or Aurora.
30 October 2020 13:03
Store blocks cellphone data inside. It is a shameful attempt to censor customers from comparing options. I will not be going into this store again.
24 October 2020 16:53
5 stars because of the patience needed to help someone who had no idea, the first employee couldn't help, but another employee who knew what I needed helped out, great job Canadian tire keswick
27 August 2020 7:22
The store in Keswick always has what I am looking for and they are doing a great job with the social distancing and sanitation
27 July 2020 10:33
Waited over a week for store pickup, ended up cancelling order.
Btw, I was shocked to see no staff wearing protective masks with the exception of one employee behind service desk. Store not taking pandemic seriously.
Update July 10th; Glad to see smarter minds have prevailed. Employees of Cdn Tire will have to wear masks starting July 17th as mandated by York Region. The vast majority of businesses in Georgina have been insisting on masks upon entering with employees wearing masks, every since Stage Two openings. Not Cdn Tire.
25 December 2019 6:44
This store always seems to be sold out of stuff, even if it's in-stock online. Not sure if it's poor tracking or an exceptional amount of theft causing it, but I've wasted far too much time at this store either not finding things or returning things that fell apart. Have only kept 1 thing I've bought from here in the last 3 years. The staff are nice enough, but it's probably better to make the trip and go to a different location.
21 December 2019 2:54
Good stock on products, customer service is a little slow but they are easy to work with. Automotive can be busy at times. All around the staff is friendly and willing to help.
11 December 2019 18:43
My car tires seized while on the highway, forcing me off the road with my wife and 1 year old in the car. Fortunately we were safely off the side of the highway and arranged for a tow truck to come and take the car to the nearest center, which happened to be this Canadian Tire location. The next day, I called and told them what had happened, and they said they would get back to me shortly with a diagnosis. Before hanging up, they asked me what the problem was; I told them I didn't know, just that the wheels seized up while driving and that we had our brakes done a month previously which might be a factor. But emphasized I had no idea what caused it. After hanging up, I waited 3 hours for a call, and eventually called back myself. I was told it was caused by a dirty emergency brake cable. I found this incredibly hard to believe, as the emergency brake was not engaged while I was driving, so how could it turn itself on? They assured me that the problem was fixed and the vehicle was ready to be picked up. I went in to pick the car up and insisted on taking a test drive myself to ensure it was working fine, especially after they admitted that the mechanic didn't drive the car on the road, just quickly through the parking lot. Getting on the road, it was clear there was still something wrong, as two new sounds were coming from the car and it struggled to build momentum. I went back in and told them that it is still making noises, and asked one of the employees if they were a parent, and if they would put their own child into this vehicle to drive back home in (I live 3 hours away). They said yes, that the problem was just a dirty emergency brake cable and that the car is ready. The next day was Thanksgiving, and I am confident they just wanted me to leave without making them do any more work. After paying $90 for having them wipe off some dirt from the cable, I left. I was so confident the problem still existed that I had my family ride halfway home with our friends in their car. At that point, we loaded my wife and son back into our car, and continued on. About 15 minutes prior to arriving home, it happened again. Our car slammed itself to a stop in the middle of the highway, nearly being rear-ended by a vehicle driving behind us. I pulled the steering wheel as hard as I could to the right and we skidded off the road leaving skid marks behind us and an overpowering smell of burnt rubber in our car. We called a tow truck again, this time to a service center near our house that has done work for us in the past. They diagnosed the problem as a front differential failure and fixed the problem the next day. Our car is now safe for my family.

I will never go back to the Keswick Canadian Tire again, knowing that they were willing to risk my family's life to get out on time for Thanksgiving dinner. If you are reading this, Kenzie, I am disgusted with your ability to look me in the face and tell me that my vehicle was safe to drive, and that you would never let someone pick up an unsafe vehicle. You knew it was still not working right because I told you there were noises coming from the car and it wasn't driving properly, but you brushed that off.

I am just grateful that their laziness didn't cost me or my family our lives.
11 December 2019 16:23
Service representatives are friendly, but the actual service is super slow, even if you made an appointment. Waited 2.5 hours for a tire change with tires on rims. On the bright side, I guess you have a whole lot of time to walk around the store.
03 December 2019 23:01
Went to get a tire with a slow leak checked. They wound up finding tie rod end and suspension problems as well as a suspicious engine oil leak. They saved me from a major breakdown - thanks Canadian Tire.
24 November 2019 5:15
For all the complaints on here that are mad about customer service, I have seen the staff here keep their cool when being verbally abused.
The staff here are AMAZING.
I basically come here at least twice a month and have always met with kind, knowledgeable and friendly service.
But what I see from some of the CUSTOMERS? MY GOD!
I was being helped when a boomer aged 'gentleman' walked up, interrupted me mid sentence, demanded to know where something was and that the person helping me show him.
When the worker said, I am almost done with this customer if you would like to wait.the man then stormed off and started swearing under his breath. No doubt is one of the bad reviews left on here.
That is just ONE example.
So, before you go off and leave a bad review, might I suggest you think about how YOU have spoken to and how you treated the PEOPLE (not robots) working here? You wanna go off about manners? Use them yourself.
18 November 2019 5:08
Perhaps I just got unlucky but I don't appreciate paying for a service and having your mechanics cut corners, I expect better. My brakes seized way too soon, and I had to service them yet again. Everything here was serviced and pads replaced at the same time. If you want to ensure the proper work is done on your vehicle, I suggest visiting another mechanic here in Keswick.
15 November 2019 1:11
Very poor service in auto department. Appointments are not properly booked, and even with the appointment, the waiting at the shop is too long just for a simple oil change.
01 November 2019 12:45
Good but the garden center closes early in the year. Drive here instead of Newmarket, which is closer
28 October 2019 3:11
They just refreshed my memory as to why I haven't used Canadian Tire's auto service in a decade. I have been waiting 2hrs 40min for an oil change and tire install and it is still not complete.

Tire Care Guarantee "included" with all tires actually costs $7 a tire despite wording of signs posted everywhere.

Friendly staff who acknowledged the long wait time and did their best to improve saves them from a 1 star review but it can't offset the terribly slow work and I will not be using them again. Not recoGo to Midas or a local mechanic unless you want to spend your entire morning or afternoon sitting in a waiting room.
22 October 2019 14:49
Great customer service sale product was not on the shelf so the manager found it right away in the back.so nice
15 October 2019 19:45
Great store! Friendly and helpful staff. Actual cashiers if you prefer over self checkout. Lots of inventory. Good parking. Clean
09 October 2019 3:49
The automotive techs have always been good to me, when something has gone wrong. They fix it, I bring my bill in just in case. Store is always great. Except no weld gloves, but that's ok
01 October 2019 4:49
Its my go to store for most things. They didn't have what I was looking for on this particular visit but they still got me on some impulse buys!
27 September 2019 12:07
Typical Canadian tire store. Went to buy minnows for fishing. They also have fishing licenses. Very organized. Good service.
08 August 2019 21:28
Friendly service. Customer exchange was quick and pleasurable. Still got worng air filter for car for second time. Lol
01 August 2019 10:54
Stopped in here for some sporting goods they had lots to choose from the a staff member offered to help us. (We said no thank you but he was polite and told us if we everything come find them). Great store and we will return to the Keswick Canadian Tire for more sporting goods
31 July 2019 21:37
Didn't actually go in but seemed very convenient and well located. Handy amenities/facilities nearby. Some beautiful trees around.
18 June 2019 3:28
Standard Canadian tire. Poor customer service. Asked for help with moving boxes from employees found discussing “man troubles” and was chastised for disturbing them.

Oh well.
