Canadian tire is one stop shop for any tools or auto repair related items. Staff was very helpful. Our Van rental front light was broken. Danny Manager helped us to get it fixed without appointment and took care of us. He was amazing. Thank you!
15 September 2023 14:12
I really appreciate the selections Canadian tire has to offer! Prices are bit high however and hard to find staff that aren't busy unfortunately, but blows away Walmart!
07 September 2023 22:45
Dropped in last night to pick up a few things. Seen an amazing deal on Clearance rack! Went up to cashier Dakota and she noticed a pricing difference after I had paid and immediately got Hailey and Danielle (manager) up to the front to issue me a refund and price adjustment. Got an even better deal! LOVED IT! LOVED THEM FOR IT!
03 July 2023 11:29
Love the new layout, still some tag prices missing on some items, good service, great personal
27 June 2023 7:56
Worst place ever to take your car. Nobody knows what there doing here had to re torque my rims.after paying over $1000 for them also they all leak around the rim because they were in such a rush to clean the aluminum rims made an appointment for warranty on it a week in advance just to show up to be told they can’t do it they could have said that when I called an was told it’s warranty
28 April 2023 23:01
Lots of parking I had room for my semi truck real easy to find stuff in the store good prices very competitive with what's around it
28 April 2023 0:38
Nice place to visit. Unfortunately the gun shop was closed may be due to weekends but found many new products.
27 April 2023 18:32
Complete joke of a an automotive service company, it is now blatantly obvious why they were coined the nickname “crappy tire”. I was given a quote that I double and triple checked with them. Waited two weeks for my appointment all for them to double the price of the quote and then for them to lie about the reasoning for it. Horrible, horrible experience, and quite frankly extremely shady business practices. Very dishonest and just a joke in general. Will never be back.

I just wanted to give Shelly/Shelley, not sure of spelling, of cust service here, a 'great job' + applaud her honesty that I find missing from other co.s, (ie.the gouging grocery stores). In a world of growing selfishness+dishonesty, (ie.some politicians/certain CEOs), I had just met a very honest+nice person working in the right field, customer service. I was accidentally short changed by her, because I may have been chatting too much with her, (ie.my too verbose review here, I'm sorry), but wanted to say thank u to her+ Cdn Tire for this. I know it was only $5, but was so impressed, I donated it to their Jumpstart for Kids! Thanks
18 January 2023 15:05
Parts and Service staffs are courtesy and more than willing to help. The only thing I did not put 5 is that we waited a while in the line before our turns. However, it also prove that they have such a good and trustable business.
11 January 2023 18:26
I wish things moved a little faster. Customer service ranks low, understandably. People don't seem to be very happy in their positions and it translates to bad customer experience. I always feel like I'm an inconvenience whether checking out or asking for help
19 December 2022 17:51
A good variety of goods not just a 'car' place, good prices & loyalty points = cash towards next purchase
19 December 2022 8:01
It's Canadian Tire. Quite "FRANKLY", they start selling basic groceries and beer. I'd only need to go to one store.
Seriously, this location is one of the best ones in my opinion.
30 July 2022 20:14
It's CANADIAN Tire. They are still very slow at picking your online order from their shelf and emailing you its ready. Order placed at 6am 2 hours before store opening and wasn't ready until 11am 3 hours after the store opened. Never any staff at the online order pickup area, then they have to retrieve your order from the back of the store. I like to shop at Canadian retailers instead of American owned, but HD & WM online ordering puts this Canadian store to shame.
20 May 2022 9:56
Infuriating place that always has a line up at the cash. I counted 8 customers waiting, 11 (eleven!) employees within sight at the front of the store, 2 lines open. Employees are never available to help customers.
Other than this, typical Canadian tire, only buy items that go on sale, crummy quality items in general, dingy packed stores that feels more like a discount store than a department store.
17 May 2022 15:36
Plan your work and time the sales with CT. Great way to save on tools. Mastercraft is fine for most jobs around the house.
17 May 2022 13:33
It's Canadian Tire claim the staff is always very helpful except for the girl in the automotive should have been an attitude
26 April 2022 11:17
Canadian Tire Cobourg is clean and well organized, watch buying things at regular price, often there "sale" price is the same as other big box stores regular price.
26 March 2022 4:35
The staff are always helpful. I many go in for automotive parts and other automotive needs and haven't been let down by any of their products. The store layout can be a bit confusing at the new store though. Certain items you would expect to be one place are in other sections of the store. As well their inventory system does not seem to work properly after the new store has been open for almost 2 years.
05 February 2022 18:50
Placed an order online for curbside pick up! Order was placed Sunday evening and ready for pick up Monday morning. Very easy to get curbside order! Staff placed ordered directly in trunk. Will use this service again if needed!
17 January 2022 1:16
This store is perfect! I got sent here from our Trenton store. I found the store fully stocked. The staff was eager to assist me.and I found what I was looking for. The drive was nice, and very minimal traffic.
31 December 2021 21:07
While the main parts guy is pretty awesome, it's disappointing what I need to share. I dropped off my car to switch over to my winter tires; I pay for the storage. I asked and was told it would be $40 for the switch and $50 for the storage. After drop off, I got a call saying there was a nail in one tire and did I want them to fix it now, sure why not. (With this additional service I somehow ended up with a final bill of $152! Really? !) I was also told that my calipers are VERY bad and need immediate repair. I told them I wasn't prepared to deal with that so to hold off. I then brought my car to my regular mechanic and just got told brakes are absolutely fine but maybe do a basic brake service in the spring. It's disappointing that garages are still trying to take advantage of people. I'm even doubting if I really had a nail as the only proof is my exorbitant final bill.

What a disappointing reply considering your shop tried to rip me off. That just knocked off some more stars.

I just had 4 tires installed at this location today. Brought my wheel & tire assemblies to the store off the car to save them some time. It looked like they did a good job with the installation however on the way home all I could smell was petroleum grease. When I got home I could see the grease oozing out from the tire beads. As a former wheel and tire mechanic I was taught to only use approved tire lube; and never ever use petroleum grease when mounting a tire since petroleum products deteriorate rubber which can cause catastrophic failure. Additionally petroleum grease on tire beads can cause the bead to separate from the wheel assembly during hard cornering which as you can imagine would be extremely dangerous.

So basically this issue potentially put my family's safety and the safety of those on road around us at risk. I will be returning to speak to the manager tomorrow to see how to best rectify this situation. I hope for the store's and other customers sake this was a one time mistake by a unqualified installer.

Update:
We went back to the dealer (Canadian Tire Cobourg, Ontario, Canada) and spoke with the service manager who informed us that they had been using grease with lithium to install tires for years and never had an issue.

He also noted that they had pump 120psi into our tires to get the bead to seat properly. My understanding was anything over 30-40psi is dangerous.

Since he said that their extended warranty which we purchased would cover and issues that may come up and the fact that after hearing about their standard procedures we decided not to have any more work done there, including having the tires cleaned and replaced.

I am still a little concerned that the integrity of the existing tires may have been compromised due to the petroleum based grease used and the fact that they pumped the tires up to 120psi to install them however I'll leave final decision to the manufacture of the tires if anything else should be done.

August 2021 update: This store is now willfully breaking the law and human rights code by not respecting mask exemptions and telling customers they are trespassing. Even assaulting customers in the process. I have been in contact with other customers experiencing the similar issues and are obtaining legal council to effect recourse.
28 September 2021 18:12
Worst service ever. Charge me for no reason for car service. When ask for refund they give me credit only for specific problem, which I already resolved. Now they mean i have to get that problem to get credit. Lol.
28 September 2021 12:59
Canadian Tire is a rip off! The auto shop is negligent and sends you off in an unsafe vehicle. I took my vehicle there and was way over charged and the mechanic didn't fix half of the problem. I took it back three times and then had to take my vehicle else where to be fixed properly! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!
20 September 2021 9:39
Things sure have changed from the Canadian Tire of years ago. Stick to the smaller towns at least they have some staff.
08 September 2021 21:58
Even though our health unit says you can allow people into a business who are unable to wear a mask, this place has this sign in front by the entrance. Basically they are discriminating people with a physical disability.
25 August 2021 1:27
Have left 5 messages regarding my issue for a cut side pick up order that didn’t come with parts. You literally cannot get anyone at the store to pick up the phone or call you back. Terrible customer service experience.
13 August 2021 20:52
What a joke of a store, employees are rude. Good luck getting help when you need it. Only reason I come here is so I don't have to drive to bowmanville or Belleville.
18 July 2021 23:22
I got a sudden flat tire while driving on the 401. Cobourg was the closest town. They fit me into the their schedule on no notice. Good price on a Motomaster tire to hold me over until I get a new full set.
09 July 2021 12:12
Sat in curbside pickup for over 10 minutes waiting for someone to come. I was checked in as per the email and even called the store. After they took my info it was almost another 10 minute wait for them to bring it out. Only 2 of the 6 curbside spots had customers.
25 June 2021 17:24
Good sized store with all the major categories and good selection in each. Lots of inventory though on closer inspection, some shelves could be a little tidier and better overall signage. I used my phone to find the aisle that my item was located. Some floor staff about and good social distancing protocol at cash. Good to go early to avoid line ups.
20 February 2021 23:58
Good layout, great friendly staff.

Having ASD I may be better equipped to know the logistics as "The New normal" has been my life. So the only suggestion I would make is lose 2 aisles and divide the space among existing aisles left. But loss of star is not for this as if no pandemic it is just fine.

The deduction of 1 star for the Coburg location is for fact that customers are expected to follow arrows pointing out direction, so make sure employees also follow the flow.

If reason for the loss of star " as stated above" is addressed and no negative comments for a week after acknowledging that staff have been told I will return and give the full 5 STARS!
01 February 2021 8:23
I ordered an item that was on sale from this location because it was it said it had them instock. Order was supposed to be shipped over a week ago. I called and they said they cancelled the order when I called and wait for the email.
Now I miss the sale item due to their lack of correspondence.
Their email correspondence is unacceptable and follow up to online orders terrible.
I would not recommend this store and I will not go here for any future purchases.
24 January 2021 16:35
Ordered online for curb side service. Items were ready within couple of hours. Took a little longer to get my purchases once in line at the store than i would like but they were busy. Staff were friendly amd courteous. I will be back
07 November 2020 7:16
Very easy to exchange a broken weed eater that was only purchased 2 months ago. We were happy with the ease of replacement.
30 October 2020 15:07
Decently laid out. Auto section needs a better selection. Did not find a single thing I needed and had to drive to Oshawa.
05 October 2020 23:16
Brought in a tire for a puncture repair with a scheduled appointment. Waited.and waited. After 45 minutes I checked on the status and they still hadn’t started! Waited some more.very disappointed.

Yesterday, Sunday. Aug. 17, we had a major brake failure on our Toyota Matrix. We're from out of town, up in the Ottawa Valley. About 2: 30, we limped into the Cobourg Canadian Tire and were happy to see the garage bays open. Corrina, the auto service associate served us and made arrangements for the car to be looked at. Corrina's pleasant nature and good humor helped us through this crisis. We understood that at this late hour, the car wouldn't be ready til the next day, so we checked out the car rental businesses without success. Mark, the auto mechanic made a herculean effort and was able to repair the car by closing time. Both Mark and Corrina went the extra mile in getting us on our way.
We would like to thank them both and acknowledge their professionalism and kindness in getting us home during these challenging times. Thanks, Corrina and Mark

Lots of stock, decent prices, but one thing has never changed
When you're looking for something, a worker walks by, they never, never, and I mean never, stop to ask if there is something they can do to help.
29 April 2020 12:58
Drove from Ottawa to Toronto on Feb 14 and found TMS light was on near Cobourg. The kind technician at service department help check the tires pressure so I can continue to drive to Toronto.

Auto Service Scammers.

Beware of the service desk scamming for up sells.
I brought my car in to get a new set of tires on Feb. 15. I already had a set of tires (x4) to be put on. I dropped my car off and shortly after received a call stating the following:

1. The tires I brought in are summer tires and would not be safe to install.
2. The tires are not safe for my car because they have 55mm side walls and will “throw my whole car out of alignment”.
3. They could get me a good deal on a new set of tires.

Just my thoughts based on this dingleberry’s opinions:

1. The tires I brought in are Continentals 235/55/R17 99H M+S [Mud and Snow]. Last time I checked it didn’t snow in the middle of the f*ing summer.

2. He could not explain why the tires were unsafe for my car other than it will throw my whole car out alignment and cause a lot problems. I understand if I was only changing 2 tires but I was changing the full set.

3. Just wanted to get an up sell and get a gold star on his weekly report card.

If you decide to bring your own tires in for them to install be sure to read the codes on your tire and be ready to grill the numbskull on the phone when they try to get you to buy some garbage tires for a “good deal”

Just to be clear I’m not talking about the teenagers working the desk, they were great. I’m talking about the short chubby guy with the oversized head that scurries into the back room when he makes eye contact with the guy who he tried to scam over the phone.

Usually a go too spot for several things, but if you ever need any help it's a chore to find an associate.
11 March 2020 14:29
4 stars overall, decent Canadian tire, staff is friendly and helpful for the most part. Product pricing in general isn't the best but is average for a Can. Tire. 5 stars for their pro shop, Shawn at the hunting Pro Shop area is helpful, decent selection of firearms and good selection of ammo at fair pricing.
06 March 2020 15:44
I'm really not too sure what to say about this store in Cobourg Ontario but my experiences going into the store with staff are horrible they're always upset looking.maybe if they try to smile and be happier I would like to come in there more and not only that I find that the store cannot afford to put out flyers
05 March 2020 12:27
Bought a product that was marked wrong in price by Canadian tire staff and the manager did not want to honor their mistake. And straight out told me no too bad for me. I have never experienced this type of disregard to a customer who pays for the pay check they receive. I am very disgusted by the management at this location.
Wow shame on you evening manager you couldn't even be bothered to come down from you're lunch and deal with my situation. One more customer lost by the lack of management and leadership skills.

Canadian tire is one of my favourite places to shop. Live checking out the clearance shelves. Great deals there. Buyer beware of course. I shop the stores in southern Ontario regularly for work. Always great people and prices. Went in for some casters. Left with them plus some screw drivers and a pry bar. The later were on sale.
20 February 2020 7:09
It is Canadian Tire and Canadian owned, which I really like about any shopping here. Decent priced Old Dutch cleaning products, George garbage bags and Old Dutch laundry detergents. I try to get my household cleaning products, garbage bags and detergents here. Some furniture and storage cabinetry and office furniture available. Decent paint. They have awesome sales that I wait for, in other things. Call me frugal, as they are fairly priced.
07 February 2020 22:55
Last weekend we had an appt to get our snow tires put on. Two hours we hung out in that store. The "gentleman" behind the counter seemed to find it amusing when customers showed any sign of frustration or irritation. On the way home, our car started to shimmy. This entailed another appt today. Our 1: 00 booked appt did not begin until 1: 40. So glad I did not go. They will not get our vehicles in there again.
To follow up on this saga, I took my vehicle to a garage today to have the tires balanced properly. The shimmy is finally gone.

I had the the misfortune to pick up a bungee cord hook in my rear tire on the 401, I managed to get off and limp over to Canadian tire with very little hope they would help me at 7.30 in the evening.first person I saw at the service desk was Sheldon who said sure we can hep you, let's get in in and see what we can do.the tire had what we thought at first was one hole, turned out to be two, this removed the option for repair, next thing was to see if they had matching tire, they did
Dave the technician did show me the hole and apologized for not being able to repair it, anyway an hour or so later I was on my with a matching tire installed, and by the way Canadian Tire warranty is much better than the dealer offered me,
Sheldon and Dave great job
Canadian Tire will be my tire place from now on, you deserve the business.

Broke a wiper blade on the way home in the freezing rain.bought new blades and had them installed for 3 bucks and on my way again no time flat.good service today!

Canadian Tire is the place to go for my truck. Camping with my family. Just got my Christmas tree and ornaments.definitely recommend all my family and friends
29 December 2019 6:59
Lots to look at, plenty of deals, great selection of Christmas decorations, well displayed and sorted.
06 December 2019 12:17
I usually like this place but this was my first terrible experience here. Ive never experienced blatant sexism until tonight! I went in to buy 2 coyote sprays for myself and my employee. We are dog walkers and walk in wooded areas and have run into coyotes on more than one occasion. I went in to make sure we had new ones ready to go for the winter season. I got an earful from the gentleman at the gun counter - asking me questions why I was buying and who I was using it on. I told him it was not really his business, and he told me it was against the law to carry it if it wasn't for coyotes. He told me it's not for female self defense. For the record, I purchase new bottles every single year for the 4 years I've walked dogs and I have never once been questioned about why. Not to mention he helped every guy that walked up before me, even while I was waiting for his service. Had I had something else between my legs, I'm sure I would have been treated with more respect, and less questions. I'm very disappointed.

I recently bought a vacuum cleaner from this store, I used it once and found it was not powerful enough. I replaced all the parts back into the package and took it back to store to return it. When I took it to the store, I explained them why I was returning and the lady in customer service desk told me I will not be able to return it because I have used the product and said I was eligible only for an exchange. I explained her I would never know how the product was unless I used it but she said it was the policy of the store. I asked her if they carried central vacuum and they said they did not carry that either, so I requested for store credit and I would shop something else instead. I was told I would not get store credit and I could only go for another vacuum. I requested to talk to store manager and explained her everything and I got the same response. At last I conceded defeat and I took another vacuum which was pretty much same price range. Once I checked out from the counter, I asked her if I don’t use this product and bring it back will I be able to return it? And the answer was “Technically Yes”. So, I said could you return it now. When I said that there came another CSR and said no we cannot do that. At that time, I knew people there did not know what they were talking or doing. So, I took the vacuum and went to another Canadian Tire store and returned it. This is how the Cobourg Canadian Tire is, I am not going back to this store again and I hope this store improves their customer service.

I walked into the store and was helped immediately by a very friendly staff member named Brady he was an extremely big help and helped to create a wonderful shopping experience. I will recommend this store to all my friends and family.
