Canadian Tire

I recently visited Canadian Tire for a conventional oil change, and the service at the front desk was prompt and professional. However, during my store visit, I experienced some discomfort as one of the staff members seemed to be following me, perhaps concerned about theft. I believe a more effective training program and the use of cameras could enhance the shopping experience for customers. Overall, efficient service in the automotive department, but room for improvement in customer engagement within the store.
I paid 74.29$ HST included for the oil change (06 january 2024 at 16: 44).

Clean and, well stocked store. Sale items clearly marked and plentiful. Staff always helpful.

This is a very welcoming and friendly CT. We went here after our car had trouble while at the cottage. We were given excellent advice by the automative staff. While wait times, for all mechanics, are high when we went we were able to at least speak to someone about the concern. We didn't get the gentlemens name but thank you and you really helped us Toronto-folk out of a problem. Unlike some local options which aren't as friendly to tourists.

Bought a tent at another store, it leaked. Bought a second tent to get through the weekend. Found the receipt for the first one and brought it here to return it. They refused to do the return even though I had a receipt from 3 days ago. Only way they would do it is if I brought in the receipt for the new tent too… which of course I never brought. It’s an hour round trip… won’t ever be back to this store, didn’t like the service. First store said it wouldn’t be a problem returning it to a different location when I had the receipt. I’ve never had this happen before and it seemed very ridiculous. I thought small town service was supposed to be better? Apparently not.

Never have I ever had such great service as I got at my last visit at this store. The store was well staffed and everyone I interfaced with was extremely helpful. The store is well stocked and the staff very knowledgeable. The only problem I can see is that this store is too small and could use a whole lot more square footage. I commend the owner of this location for ensuring great staffing levels.

Staff are very helpful. If you can't find it staff will.a little slow at checkout.nice clean store. Wheel chair accessible.

Same as any other CT. They either have what you're looking for or they don't. We were lucky. They had what we wanted

Came to pick up an inverter. Everything was clean and organized. Cashier was friendly.
Good customer service.

I was looking for a particular garment to keep the rain off. The lady there helped me find what I needed, a rain coat. Thank you so much lady.

I was going to get fuel near Southampton today and called this Canadian store to see if they had in stock something that the Owen Sound store was supposed to have, but didn't, (some have the same feelings as I do about this particular location!) They said that they did, and then went to confirm their answer. That was good enough for me. So, through sleet and rain I ventured out to get the planned purchases for the day. I have never seen a store like this. It was packed full of merchandise, and also, I've never seen so many CT employee's in my shopping experience within this organization. (Hang in there, I'm almost done.)
Although it's a little further for me to travel, I'll definitely be coming here to shop when I need something from C T. Really impressed with selection and great service from this store.

Always great to spend a couple of hours just looking at all the new and great ways they help and keep you in on all the seasons great staff

The gentleman that helped me was amazing! Very helpful, I bought stools he took them down from the high shelf for me and made sure I had a proper cart so I could take them out to the vehicle. His humor and kindness was very refreshing I will definitely make the drive to go again.

Fabulous customer service. I made a number visits & everyone was so kind & helpful. The service in Port Elgin was so amazing. Most times I have to hunt for someone to help in Port Elgin the staff asked me if they could help. Amazing!

Had to wait a few minutes for my turn but then guy took me to exactly where I needed to go. Great service.

We were not intending to shop but got into an accident in the parking lot. One of the employees from the service desk seeing we were travelling with a dog came out to let us know that the store was pet friendly. She could have ignored the situation but did not. It is this beyond the job description attitude that I have given the store 5 stars.

The curb side here is a little weird and confusing. Had my order the next day after placing it. Customer service was good. Would go here over the owen sound one

I am absolutely disgusted at the treatment my dear friend - and Doctor- endured when visiting the Garden Centre in the Port Elgin location. She was treated extremely rudely by garden centre staff who clearly demonstrated prejudiced attitudes towards an 'old person'! My friend is a pillar of the community having helped countless people over the years both as a doctor and as a humanitarian in Canada and indeed around the world. To make matters worse, the young male manager continued to verbally accost her, shouting and intimidating her, when she complained about the treatment by the young female staff. NEVER will I nor colleagues continue to support this business again. SHAMEFUL SHAMEFUL ageist prejudiced staff and owners. If you are over 60 years of age, BEWARE of the staff especially in the garden centre. I wish I didn't have to click a star in order to post this, preferring to give them negative stars instead.

Employees are completely incapable of doing there jobs and waste your time. The will sell your orders to other people because they don't know how to do there jobs.

Second time going to this store and dealing with extremely rude employees that don't want to help with anything. Cashier told me they never leave the till so they no nothing about the rest of the store. Asked them to look up a product # and got more attitude saying they have never heard of it so they probably don't carry it. The number and picture I was showing them was from their stock and webpage and also showed over 50 in stock. Don't waste your time going to this store

Called the store to ask for a price adjustment refund on a product that came on sale. Canadian Tires policy states 14 days but the Port Elgin storemanager told me his policy is 7 days and because they aren’t open for refunds he couldn’t help me. I called head, office customer service and they told my I was entitled to a refund and all stores must give 14 days refund when stores re open after lockdown. She also called the Port Elgin store but the manager wouldn’t listen to her either. Poor, poor attitude and service. Won’t return to this store again.

Staff was helpful, no hesitation at all to grab us inventory that was in the warehouse would definitely go again

Just got home from 11 days at McGregor provincial park. Thinking my wife booked a hydro site why bring anything extra. No hydro. The guys at the auto parts are the best. They took such good care of us that we were able to make it the whole trip. A few checks and full charge of our rv battery and we made it. Tylor the service manager is a class act. Don't let him get away on you. Thx so much steve and kim thorold ont

Pretty good store but kind of small with narrow aisles and really poor lighting. Staff are friendly and most are knowledgeable, but their plumbing aisles have zero lighting. Try finding an abs fitting in the dark, it's just rows of black plastic, who needs light?

I heard this was a good Canadian Tire. I tried to purchase online, 2 kayaks. My transaction went through and said I was able to curb side pick up rightaway. On my arrival, I was told that I was only given 1 kayak, even though they had 2. The other one was being held for a rain check. The store was still waiting for the other buyer to return the call. Store manager said that she is willing to hold rain checks for upto 5 days before releasing an item? I didn't think Canadian Tire held inventory! You would think that staff would pull the other item off their inventory so not to frustrate paying customers!
1 day later, I notice on my bank statement that the store still billed me for 2 kayaks. I called the store and was given nothing but attitude from the person who answered the phone. Snotty, abrupt and rude. Very frustrating shopping experience with Port Elgin Canadian Tire.

At least half the time they don't have what I'm looking for. If you want endless amounts of keychains and flashlights, this is the store for you. You want a garden hose or OIL for the machinery, try Walmart and save 20 bucks.

Time for another store folks.

Wouldn't shop at other place.friendly staff eager to help and Donna is super amazing and the only reason I shop at this store. If she doesn't have it in stock she will get it for you and follows up when it is in! Would recommend this store to everyone because of the hospitality.

Had a marine battery for which I had no receipt and the guys in the auto department took the time to find my receipt and issued the warranty.
I had called head office for help and they refused to help.

Very poor controls in place to keep people 2 metres apart. Lineup for the cash goes across the entrance to the store. Impossible to enter store without having to come extremely close to other people Very few employees wearing masks and way too many were not observing 2 metre distance from customers.

Booked me in for a car service and told me when I showed up they didn't have the right person available for another 2 days. No apologies.

The manager Johnathan is exceptionally perfessional and helpful. He has by far brought customer service back. The only place I shop that has any form of customer service is Canadian Tire. I would 100% choose Canadian Tire over all competitors just for this reason. He stopped what he was doing to walk halfway across the store to help me find something. Not only that, but he checked the batteries in an item for me too. Thank you Johnathan. Sincerely.

Can’t seem to ever find items where they should be. Staff members look at you like you have 3 heads when you ask for help locating something. Lucky if they point in the general direction or give and aisle number.

Always great service here. Josh is my main mechanic, always gets what I need done quick and efficient.

Good store. Staff are around to help not like some other CT stores where they seem to hide out. So far good recommendations from staff.

Came in simply looking for an air compressor to fill up my car tires and was bounced around to three different associates/departments. The man working in the auto department (garage) diverted me to the gas bar and seemed rather bothered by my presence.

Smaller than the next one in Owen Sound, but more accomindating, if you are having trouble with say putting a new windshield wiper on, by yourself, they will give you a hand, but the one in Owen Sound, will want to write up a work order, and then make you wait. This Canadian Tire also has a fuel station and a Tim Hortons on site.

Friendly and helpful staff. Bought winter rims for my car. They had to be ordered and was informed it would take approximately five days. They came in four days and received a call the day they arrived.
Great speedy service at this store and definitely continue to do business there.

Was a little disappointed that the garden centre was closed it was 4 oclock Friday of July long weekend had to take flowers and soil in the store very tight alleys

Not a friendly atmosphere shopping here. Each person I asked for help it was like I was disturbing them. The only good experience was the cashier that cashed me out. This is not the first time. Will go to Owen Sound from now on

It's a well stocked Canadian Tire with a garden centre. All the same products you'd expect from the chain. I have not used their auto service center. You are allowed to bring pets inside which is a nice feature.

Pretty clean and very well stocked store. Didn't have much of an issue finding anything I needed. Lots of in stock sale items, and the staff seemed very friendly. Even with the larger store, this place can seem pretty busy and packed. Definitely do not mind shopping at this place!

Very prompt service picking up an on line order. Assistance in getting heavy load into the car.

It's cramped. It's dark. However, it typically has what you need to get the job done. If you want to play a massive game if indoor hide and seek this place would work wonderfully! In fact, like many Canadian Tire stores, I feel that the staff often is playing hide and seek.

Seems like a pretty good Canadian Tire. Maybe a little cramped. The last time I was there I couldn't find what I was looking for and a friendly sales staff tried very hard to find it for me. It turned out that they were sold out, but the staff gets an A for trying to help me.

I live in Arthur and port Elgin was the only place that had a part I needed desperately. The guy working the part counter set it aside for me and stressed some thing about this particular part to ensure it was the right one. When I arrived there he was very friendly and we talked about my ride as he was interested in buying the same vehicle. Friendly quality service
