I was a little concern about the weather condition and he assures me that he will take special care to ensure a proper job. True to his word, it was a perfect job and the recent rain really reveal how well his leveling and sloping was done on my laneway. Very pleased with the result of my driveway. Everyone involved was knowledgeable and very professional. Highly recommended.

We got our driveways (two neighboring homes) paved last year. To begin with the response was good until visiting the site, providing a quote and advance deposit. Once the advance was deposited there was a months gap in the communication before they reached out about the paving dates and instructions. The work seemed good when it was done and the staff was very polite and patient. However during the winter we realized that the levels were not taken properly and the garage entry was at lower level than the driveway which was not a problem before it was excavated and resurfaced. Melting snow got accumulated and froze frequently damaging the garage door closer as well. We had to every time break the ice below the garage door to open it.

Since May 2022 we have been trying to reach out to CanArk Paving/Mara via emails and telephone calls to seal the driveway and correct the levels however they have not responded to any of our messages. We are seriously considering about a consumer complaint at this point if they do not reach out and correct the levels.

For the reasons above, I would recommend hiring one of the more reputed paving companies that communicate better and have good after sales service.

Had a wonderful experience with Canark, Mara and Chris were very responsive and worked with me in designing the front of the house. Had them install a new interlock front walkway and steps as well as pave a new driveway on a 40yrs house. I also loved that it’s a local family owned business.

Before deciding to go ahead with Canark I contacted other companies and some never got back to me. Canark, on the other hand, is super responsive and has the best customer service. Mara is excellent and kept me informed throughout the process. Canark replaced my old driveway and pavers and built a new, outstanding flower bed. The final result was a major facelift to my house. The crew worked hard, communicated effectively, and asked questions to make sure my expectations were met. They did a great job and exceeded my expectations. I bought a new house and the driveway was basically falling apart - huge cracks in it and looked terrible. I had CanArk add a new driveway. It looks a million times better and was worth every penny I paid for it. I have even recommended CanArk to my friends that were looking to add a new driveway to their home.

We hired CanArk to pave pave our large, rural, gravel driveway. I was impressed right away with their grading of the gravel. The owner was polite and professional. The team was friendly and extremely hard working. They answered all our questions and consulted us on areas of the driveway that could be done in a couple of different ways. They clearly explained how to take care of our freshly paved driveway. We will hire them again when we pave another area on our property.

My driveway looks great and they gave a good quote on it. The techs took great care when laying the asphalt and it shows in how well it turned out.

I hired Canark to dig up and redo my asphalt driveway. I also asked them to remove my grass and grade my frontage. They did such an incredible job. Driveway was nice and thick. The workers who prepped went above and beyond what they were hired for. I later hired them for an interlock landing and pathway coming off the front of my house. I asked to be done early in the season so I can plant sod. They literally came the next week. The workers were meticulous and the pathway looks perfect. They weren’t cheap but you get what you pay for. Money well spent. I have already recommended them to many friends. Thank you Canark team.

Be careful when hiring these "professionals" We are getting a decent amount of calls in the last 2 years from their past customers, to go fix their driveways as the company itself is ignoring the complaints. The driveways are rough looking, when the driveway is 1-2 years old it should not have low spots where the water accumulates and it should not be cracking. There is a lot of rough areas where they hand rake to much, leaving only the rocks on the surface, no sand, which results in the asphalt not being properly waterproof. The edges are also not compacted on an angle, they just leave them rough. I have seen lots and lots of their work from their past customers calling me directly, it's not "terrible" work, but it's definitely not up to high quality standard, if I'm comparing it to other reputable paving companies I work with. I also have seen them doing work, they work extremely fast, maybe to fast. When you grade the sub-base with a skid steer by eye, it will do a decent job, but not perfect, which results in low spots where the water pools up.

For potential customers: please go see their previous work, the work speaks for itself.
For the management: You may want to improve your quality, as anyone that knows about asphalt, will see a big difference with your work vs an actual professional.

CanArk did an amazing job replacing my driveway and creating a beautiful interlock walkway for me. From the moment when I contacted CanArk to get a quotation to the day when my driveway was paved, my experience could not have been better. Every member of the CanArk team was extremely professional and knowledgeable and clearly demonstrated their expertise in performing the work required. The end result exceeded all of my expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend CanArk for any paving or interlock brick installation.

I got a quote from them and with a lot of back and forth we came to an agreement to start the project. This took a couple of weeks. I provided him with detailed 3d designs, and he provided me with some quotes with options. On the day that I was going to pay the deposit I received a text saying that they cannot do the project and they pulled the quote. So these guys had me run around for a couple of weeks and I lost the opportunity to hire anyone for this season. I initially contacted him in the first week of April, and was given the cancellation without an explanation at the end of April. I contacted several other companies after he cancelled the project, but they were all fully booked for the season.

UPDATE: I got a call from Chris, the owner, accusing me of writing a false review and saying that I cannot judge the quality of work. I wrote that section based on what I saw at a friends house, but since they did not do a job for me, I decided to take it out of the review.

My neighbour and I contacted this company to give us a quote. The quote was provided and we accepted the offer. After accepting the offer, it was altered. The company probably hoped the customer had not download the original copy. The original offer list 1 lift or asphalt (2.5 inch's) for $6500 plus taxes and 2 lifts (5 inch's of asphalt) for the price of $8000 plus taxes, We agreed to take 2 lift (5 inch's), the driveway job was for a condominium building with multiple cars and heavy equipment vehicles. After agreement, the contract was changed to 1 lift (2.5 inch's) for the price of 2 lifts (5 inch's) ? 1 lift is now priced for $8000 plus tax instead of $6500 plus tax. Deceptive practice, rude, and poor customer service. When questioning why the change in the contract after agreement, I was told, my contract has been cancelled. So your not allowed to inquire, you just have to put up with shady practices or they will Cancel your contract. We went with a provider who was honest, professional and who did not play games.

Canark is a great company. We spoke with monica in the office and booked an appointment to have our driveway paved. It so happened they were in our neighbourhood that week and got it done 3 days after we called. The driveway looks great and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you canark.

I requested a quote after seeing good reviews about Canark. A guy came to my house to measure and give me a quote. He gave me really unclear timelines and prices - maybe do it this year, maybe not; maybe get part of it done this year, maybe not; maybe give you a discount, maybe not. He kept giving wishy washy answers, scratching his head, and just generally seemed like he really didn't know what was going on. Yet he tried to tell me I had to sign something right away. I explained that I wasn't signing anything unless I had clear expectations and know what I'm signing. He chalked it up to being tired and then said he would speak to his boss to clarify and call me back. I was very understanding. He did call me back but still seemed unsure and confused. I simply and patiently asked him to clarify a few things. He then told me he and his boss had no interest in doing my driveway. If he had no interest, why would he come to give me an estimate? He then told me it would be cost more than what he told me before. When I asked him to clarify, he told me that I was being rude and difficult. I told him that I wasn't going to use Canark because of the lack of clarity, and even moreso, the way he spoke to me. He again told me I was being difficult and abrasive. I asked for his name and he refused to tell me. My husband took the phone and asked for his name as well and again, he refused. We ended up hanging up the phone. I am absolutely appalled by the way I was spoken to. I asked for clarification on something I didn't understand. He literally insulted me. I definitely will not be using Canark.

Thanks to Canark for building our dream backyard! We meet with the owner Chris to go over our project needs such as a pool and interlock surround and then a few days later with the designer Eric. He put together the most beautiful 3D design that helped us envision exactly what it would look like! The job came out exactly like the design and we couldn’t be happier.
