Website says it’s open weekends … but it’s not. Only pick up seems to be in the east end which is not great when you waste a Saturday driving from the west end to the east to a closed businesses. This company sucks

Terrible service. They don't deliver packages on time. Constantly have packages "on hold". Don't send email notifications of delays. 48 hours to get a package from Markham to Ottawa. UPS and Purolator are better.

How are they still in business? They don't pick up their phones or respond to your emails or live chat. They don't notify you about package pickups and if you do manage to schedule a pickup they never show up. This is my 5th time in 3 weeks trying to get them to pick up a parcel and they don't show up everytime. The pickup address is only 6 minutes away from their headquarters! I'm contemplating driving my parcel there myself at this point.

Their customer service agent Ellen hung up on me when I asked her to make a note on my pickup request to ask the driver to ring the doorbell.

I wish I could give it zero stars. To this day I am STILL trying to get them to pick up my parcel.

I can see that nothing has changed over the past 5 years… These guys have absolutely no rizz. I took a big L today waiting for them.

I've been using Canpar for my small business for almost 4 years now and haven't had a single issue, so the low rating is mind boggling. My parcels get picked up on time and delivered usually next day to their destination. I've never had a lost or damaged parcel and I've sent hundreds of packages since 2019. I've been lucky to have had the same courier person this entire time, and he's an absolute asset to this company.

They have zero idea what is going on with their own business. If you are in the ‘delivery’ business then you have to y’know, actually deliver. Worst company ever. Save yourself the time. Use any other company.

If only I could rate 0! Delivery driver didn’t try to deliver. Their website doesn’t work to sign for delivery or request time. “Customer service” were rude and hung up on me twice.

For pete’s sake, will companies stop using this delivery service as your customers will not come back!

Updates were slow and couldn’t reach customer service. There were pockets of time where I could request the package be dropped off without a live signature (signed online) on the website. It’s a little strange because initially I couldn’t use the pre-signing feature, then I could and closer to the deliver date it was on removed again. I think the software was reacting to destination triggers and it was impacting it’s functionality. Either way, package was left on porch as requested and in a reasonable amount of time.

Watched the driver drive up to the building then leave without even trying to deliver. Now I have to take a bus to go pick up a couch.what a joke delivery company. Seriously.

Surpris de voir qu'ils ne laissent pas le colis si il n'y a personne. On doit signé physiquement l'avis de livraison et le laisser sur la porte. Dans mon cas ce fut 2 jours dû à un délai. Rien de catastrophique.

J'étais définitivement plus stressé de savoir que la livraison était avec Canpar suite à la lectures des avis.

HORRIFIC! How on earth this company cannot find a well established 8 storey apartment building is beyond me! My package is listed as being delivered to an industrial plaza in a completely different city! I really wish companies wouldn’t use this delivery service. Had I known. I would have never ordered from the business I did. So much for my 9 yr old daughter’s Christmas gifts. Totally frustrating!

Nous partons en voyage et nous commandons un appareil photo chez Walmart qui doit arriver 10 jours avant notre départ par Canpar. Bien entendu, le colis est mit en délais et les problèmes commencent. Nous avons rejoins le service à la clientèle à 3 reprises afin d’organiser un ramassage à l’entrepôt pour écourter les délais. Partir en voyage sans appareil photo c’est pas la joie (pas de souvenir de qualité et notre budget est dépenser). Aucun moyen d’avoir une réponse honnête, ils ne savent pas où est le colis ou ils ne veulent pas nous aider… on vous revient demain, après demain… finalement nous attendons toujours après 8 jours. C’est une catastrophe, l’appareil est acheté mais pris en otage chez le transporteur Canpar depuis par des incompétents. Pire compagnie que j’ai jamais vue, éviter ce transporteur, c’est tout sauf sérieux et ils gâcherons nos vacances. Bravo Canpar!

I am left bewildered. It is incomprehensible that a company as blatantly incompetent as this one could survive in todays world. Be forewarned this is a disaster of an operation. The likelihood of recieveing a package delivered by this farce of a business is virtually non existent. Package delivery is as ineffective and inefficient as their customer service - which is simply absent. Dont bother calling, nobody will answer.

Aweful service and customer service, my parcel was supposed to be delivered today, but the only update I see on their website is that a label was created. There is no way to contact them, been waiting on the phone line and their online chat but no one is available.

CanPar delivery person will leave the parcel outside the building of an Apartment without notifying you that it's been delivered. Anyone can grab the parcel from outside. I contacted Canpar regarding this concern and was told to reach out to them again for further assistance. Avoid Canpar unless they improve their service.

I would give negative stars if I could. Said I was not home on two different days when the package was being delivered in a whole other city? Trying to contact customer service but it’s impossible. Just want to pick up my package but can’t even do that. Do yourself a favor and avoid them.

WORST EXPERIENCE! The delivery person never tried to deliver, left a note in my apartment said it's in the pickup location. I went to the pickup hub (penguin pickups) they said it's not in there the package is again with the devilry person. Now I can see that my package has been returned.

YOUR customer service call center will never answer, was on hold for more than an hour and call dropped!

It’s my first time dealing with this company and the LAST! No agents to help on live chat and i waited on the line for more than an hour with no help! The delivery just decided not to deliver my shipment and never called or sent an email!

How is this company still in business? Ordered election signs (you know, rather time-sensitive things). Delivery was guaranteed by Canpar for Friday. Well.on Friday, the metal stands for the signs were delivered, but no signs. They originally showed online as "delivered. " After 45 minutes on hold, finally got an agent who really didn't care. "We have no idea where your shipment is - we're waiting for the driver to scan it. It could come today, or maybe tomorrow" (by "tomorrow" she apparently meant "oh yeah, it's a holiday weekend.we won't know more until late Tuesday so don't bother calling until then"). This is a company to just lie down and avoid.

Leaves a 700 dollar package in the middle of my driveway at 9 pm at night instead of on my deck or not even knocking on door lol. Good thing i took my dog out and saw the box. These guys are clowns. Worst courier service ever. Stay far away From this company

Package arrived within two business days, no problems with the delivery whatsoever.
I'm giving 4 stars because I wasn't given tracking info until the day of the delivery and seeing all the 1 star reviews worried me about this company.

Overall not bad, but according to other people, stay away if possible

Absolutely useless. Left a note and now i have to go pickup. My package does not even require a signature. Didn’t even try to deliver. Why didn’t you just leave the package at the door? How hard like holy ****.

I had ordered an item from Walmart online which was shipped by CANPAR intended for my local Walmart location. Oddly my order did not arrive despite the tracking indicating that the item was in Ottawa. I raised the issue with Walmart twice and each time they said I had to go to the CANPAR location to pick the item up. I called up CANPAR and found out that the shipping information provided was missing the actual address and only had the Walmart store number and the postal code so they could not complete delivery. After providing the Walmart address information my package arrived promptly the next day. Maybe CANPAR could have screened the shipping information beforehand to flag this omission. I was, however, pleased with how CANPAR responded to my call and how quickly they rectified the situation.

Less than impressed with the delivery. Packages were left leaning on the side of the house with NO Attempt to advise us that the packages had arrived. Good thing we were home and the weather was clear.

I ordered winter tires and I was tracking the delivery. There was an issue with locating my house and I was notified that my items were at the depot, so I went directly there. The driver hadn't finished his day, so the tires were still in his truck, but the manager was very nice - he contacted the driver and told him how to find my house. The driver came back all the way from Carp (I was in Ottawa, East side) and I still got my tires on the day they were scheduled to arrive. Yes, there was a glitch with the delivery, but I'm giving five stars because the staff showed that they cared and they made things right.

Package showed delivered. Checked the front of my house, no package to be found. Checked proof of delivery, that's not my signature or address. It's their Ottawa office location. Chatted with support and the reply was not helpful and cut me off while I was typing and ended the chat. I suspect the driver signed for delivery to save time, but now if he delivers to the wrong address, I'll never get my package and someone gets a new TV. What a horrible shipping company! They are hurting themselves by signing for packages, trying up their support lines with frustrated customers.

Amazing service, 100% trustworthy and reliable even pick up is way easier, thanks so much for keeping item pick up close by and local super appreciated, so grateful i dont need to go far to pick up the item.

This company is a joke. Stay away from them. They never tried to deliver my package because I was at home the whole day they were supposed to deliver the package. They put on file that they attempt to deliver the package which is a big lie. There were not even a notice of missing delivery.
I had to go to their facility to pickup or pay if they have to come back.

Surprisingly fast and efficient pick up. Thought I would be in a big line considering the time I arrived. Gentleman at the register was friendly enough. The low rating is because I had to go and pick up my own package. That’s ridiculous. One delivery attempt in the middle of the day with no ability to provide signature like other delivery companies. It was literally scratched out on the delivery notification. Time for a system change!

This is the worst shipment method. Better to pay a little more and have shipping through purolator, or other means. If i could give it a zero, i would.
Didn't even ring the buzzer second time around they were suppose to drop off, can't seem to get an answer as i will go pick it up as i live in a condo. Worst customer service! Needed my products for work asap, and run around with this company. I asked my supplier to change their overnight shipping to another company. This is not the first time, it's happened a few times! Had better service with Canada Post!

I wish I could give Canpar 0 stars. This is the second time that an online store has used Canpar to deliver a parcel to me, and even though I included my buzzer number details for my condo, they didn't use the buzzer in the lobby and instead just left a notice even though someone was home.

Don't recommend this courier company - avoid if you can by choosing a different delivery service.

Why is Canpar still a thing?

Ordered a book and spent 2 days trying to get it delivered with NO help. The number on their website is for their IT department and the guy had to transfer me to someone who could help. Was on hold for half an hour so I used their online chat and had to wait 40 minutes for no one to help me. In fact, the rep let me ask ONE question before ending the session I had been waiting 40 minutes to have and didn't answer my question. Finally said screw it and decided to pick it up myself from their shipping warehouse. Good to know you expect me to do your job.

My roommate ordered a book literally the day after me, and they never even bothered to try delivering it and just said they couldn't locate the address and sent it back. How is that even possible when they managed to find my address and leave a delivery attempt slip literally the day before?

Just laziness. If y'all don't want to deliver packages, get out of the business!

When I wasn't home, Canpar left me a note that they'd re-deliver my package the next business day, but they didn't. I had to drive out to their warehouse during my work hours to pick it up. Hopefully my supplier will use another service next time

They provided the expected delivery date of August 24 by end of day (today), so I was home to ensure that if it needed a signature I could do that. Instead of actually coming to the house to deliver, they just propped it up against the grouping of mailboxes which is almost 1km from our home. They easily could’ve driven down the road to deliver like they’re supposed to, but instead just left it there for anyone to grab. They didn’t even include a “proof of delivery” photo when I checked the tracking online. Absolutely horrible service.

YES, you get to drive to pickup your own packages after paying for shipping because it helps by adding extra errands to your already busy day.

Absolutely the worst courier/delivery service I have ever dealt with. Horrible customer service, the rep, her name was Ellen, actually hung up on me. She just kept repeated the same script message over and over. I was having a spin bike delivered, and the driver refused to enter the building, I live in a highrise condo. So how was I suppose to carry a 120 pound bike to my unit. They are the only carrier I have ever come across who will not deliver to the unit door. I have ordered furniture from Wayfair, and they use FedEx which has delivered a couch to my door. Canpar could care less about its service or the satisfaction of its customers. THE WORST.

This was my first time worst experience with Canpar. The pick up was scheduled today but nobody showed up. I was trying to hold several people over the last 12 hours but nobody knows where the driver lost in this universe. I have a flight to catch tomorrow noon and all the item must need to send before my scheduled flight

They keep leaving notes telling me to go somewhere and get my package and don't even have the audacity to knock on my door when I'm home so I can just receive it, then and there instead they would rather avoid me put the slip on my door and walk away the guy didn't even put my info on the slip and I can't even read the guys handwriting so I can go to the location and pick it up, and the tracking number on the slip doesn't even work I had to call canpar themselves to learn that.

Absolute worst shipping company by FAR. The drivers don't even attempt to deliver your package to you and instead leave you with a pick-up slip. If you ask them to re-attempt to deliver (because you were home the entire time, so you should've gotten it the first time), they tell you that it costs 10$ for a 2nd delivery attempt. What a joke! Now I have to go pick up my package at their location because their driver was too lazy to do their job.

FabFitFun (subscription box) uses them as their shipper and I will be cancelling my subscription solely based on my shipment experience with this company. The first month, they did actually leave a delivery attempt notice (despite not making any attempt to ring the doorbell or call me or even give a delivery window so I could be aware to check for them), fine, maybe the driver is super busy. The online tracking was basically useless, but at least the delivery attempt notice indicated a SmartSpot pickup near my apartment. All attempts at contacting customer service were also fruitless. The phone is a circle of automated messaging hell from which you can never escape and all voicemail boxes are full. The live chat does not work.

The second month rolls around and the tracking says DELIVERED. There is no package and no delivery attempt notice. Tracking online is now updated to say In Transit and at a SmartSpot pickup location across town. Needless to say, I am quite frustrated and not willing to go through this again, worst delivery service I've interacted with to date.

Canpar is really CanNot. They picked up a parcel and could not find me so they shipped my parcel back to sender. So funny. Paying themselves to ship things in a full circle.

Apparently my package went to a “Smart” pick up place. Big mystery, as no one Smart enough to tell me, contact me, or follow up. It’s like they are avoiding communication with customers.

Delivery companies that can’t deliver, a pet peeve. What a failure from CanPar. They don’t even care if you get your package.

Now three weeks since last attempt. Provided additional phone number, specific directions, and stood at door waiting. They still came and left with my package. Hilarious, that they are still in business.

Still CanNot vs CanPar.

I got a tracking number for my order on Friday, but every time I clicked it, it said there was no info available yet. I figured it was just because it was the weekend, so I made sure to check again before going to bed last night so I could see if I should be expecting my package today. There still wasn't any tracking info last night. Today, I checked the tracking number and it finally had info attached to it, but that info was that I wasn't home and my delivery is being sent to the facility? I am home, and there is absolutely zero evidence of an attempt to deliver my package. I checked my phone records and there were no missed buzzer or incoming calls. So not only was the tracking info not even provided until it was too late to anticipate a delivery, but there was also zero attempt to actually deliver it.

Worst experience ever. Stop using this company. If I could, I'd give 0 stars, but had to give 1 star to post this.

Sent my package 2 weeks in advance with a 5 day delivery guarantee. On day 3 the package was tracked as 'cannot locate' aka lost. Day 4 they attempted delivery but brought it to the Smartspot for pickup. They never emailed or anything to say they had brought it here.
I called customer success on business day 6 to inquire, waited for 30 mins, left a call back number, they never returned my call. Called back on day 7, waited 20 mins. They finally answered and told me I'd have to pay an additional $10 (on top of the $50 already paid), to make another delivery attempt. I did so and requested it be delivered immediately. Next day it scans in as sitting at smartspot for pickup. They did not even attempt to deliver it.
Worst thing is, after day five, they ship it back to sender. Thanks for nothing Canpar. I wish I could say this experience doesn't impact my opinion of the company I purchased the product through for delivery, but I don't want to work with them again, purely because they are associated with your company.

Would give 0 stars if I could. One of the worst delivery services, and customer service, I've ever dealt with. Delivery was not attempted after being out for delivery all day and items were supposed to be delivered by the end of the day. When inquiring on the online chat why my delivery was not attempted the individual could not tell me why. I asked who could help and the individual said they would look into it further. They then asked if I had any other questions to which I reiterated that I was waiting for them to look into the issue. The individual then explained they couldn't help me until after the weekend and abruptly closed the chat. Extremely disappointing to say the least. Absolutely useless online chat function and drivers who don't attempt deliveries.

Update: waited the weekend to hear back from someone regarding the issue and received no follow-up. When reaching out on the online chat again another individual told me that they cannot look into why drivers did not make a delivery attempt and they were unsure why I was told otherwise. They could not guarantee a delivery despite the item being out for delivery again that day. They also had to try and reach out to the driver who was supposed to deliver two items but only scanned one which made the other item appear lost and not out for delivery. All in all a frustrating experience; I recommend staying away from this delivery service if possible.
