Why does no one recall the 1997 horrific events of the triple murder-suicide? Janko Cindric fatally shot his wife, Nevenka, 44, his daughter, Kristina, 12, and son, Josip, 16, before taking his own life at 5 Capri Towers.

The apparent murder-suicide in the Toronto suburb of Etobicoke is the third of its kind in Ontario that year. Building superintendent Peter Morey says he called the police after friends of the family went to visit at the second floor apartment and found a foul smell coming from inside. Police were unable to open the door and had to enter the apartment by smashing a balcony window. Neighbors say Cindric, a constuction worker of Croatian origin who had immigrated from the former Yugoslavia several years ago, was known to have had emotional problems for at least the past 10 years. One resident in the apartment building says Cindric had refused to see a doctor and his wife had spoken recently of wanting to leave him. The couple have two surviving children, a 26-year-old daughter and 23 year-old son, both students living away from home in Toronto. -

Honestly I have been here for over 15 years. Never bother to do maintenance reports. Because they dont care. The office is horrible. They are hardly ever there
Goodluck. My fridge has been not working well for years. I finally demanded someone come look at it. They didnt even open it. He said OMG it's from probably 1998. He said it needs to be replaced. 5 weeks and counting. I finally went out to say what's going on with this. I was told oh all the new ones went into new apartments. Umm ok! 3 more weeks go by. I get a 24 hour notice for Fridge and STOVE. She said no. I made a mistake no Stove. Let's not forget its the match to the fridge.guy comes drops off the fridge. Super was supposed to take out the old one. Guess what that was 9 am. So the old one is still in place. New one in the living room. 2 toddlers running around. 3pm came by I had it. I moved the new one into place.old one in the hall. 4 PM I asked when it was going to be removed. Was told it was Monday they are busy. My oldest son who is 27 came with me.they were rude and ignorant. Started talking in there own language. Trying to RIP the paper that said 24 hour notice. To replace fridge and stove out of his hand. Said give it to me I will scribble out. The word Stove. 23 hours later the new fridge doesn't work. They looked and said it will take days. Not acceptable. 5 hours later brought me a nasty fridge. Also told me to leave the new one that doesnt work. In my kitchen for the week. I pay top notch rent. Also always been a good tenat. This Is the way I'm treated. Roaches everywhere. From construction. Never had them. 9 months I had to he sprayed 2 times. Property management is Horribe. Probably even more rude then the supers.

This is an honest review from a tenant that put up with ridiculous situations and has finally decided to leave after the peak of everything.

Avoid this building no matter how ‘good’ of an apartment or pricing you might be getting; the management on top of not speaking English nor dealing with emergency situations and slamming doors in your face is one thing but the lack of proper screening and vetting might as well make this building part of Toronto Community Housing. Gang members live here, gang members operate here, drug deals happen in the garage and parking lots, robberies happen in the rear of the building, criminals running from police use this building as a shelter and make it necessary for canine units to sniff them out of their hiding spots. Finding individuals passed out overdosing in the stairwells with drugs while walking my dog or going down with children is a disgusting site. The insect issue is beyond control, people leave infested beds with bed bugs out in the hallway and it take management days to deal with it; roaches, pantry bugs, mice everything is in here. The current construction that began in April 2018 is atleast a year behind with unbearable noise and dust clouds entering the apartment management just tells you to ‘deal with it not my problem’ more so the construction has blocked off CRITICAL fire hydrants sorry let me rephrase the ONLY fire hydrants in the front of the building with fences and garbage making it impossible to get to endangering everyone; and the PEAK. The gang environment if not believed previously has shown itself clearly, in broad daylight gang members with hand guns during lunch time shooting up the lobby seriously injuring a teen boy and two bystander teenage girls. This is the same lobby where school buses drop off and pick up children, where all wheelchair accessible residents go in and out of as well as where all residents enter and exit the building with their families. FURTHERMORE, it has been 48 hours since the shooting and management has yet to cover up the bullet holes in the walls, the blood soaked welcome mat and blood stained walls were thrown out by forensic investigators but it’s outrageous that they can allow bullet holes to stay in the front entrance for more than a second where people come home with their children as a welcoming experience after their days endeavours. This building is sure death and misery I am ecstatic to have been able to move out within hours, stay away.

When we moved in in 2014 it wasn't a bad building, but after being here you see why there is negitive comments. Elevators are down very regularly, maintenance issues require major effort to get completed that normally involve strongly worded emails to head office, care for security is almost 0.we have had packages go missing, entry doors get left open or the locks get broke and remain unfixed for extended periods. The units are ok and quiet. Cleaning of common areas was great when we moved in, but after many staff changes they got awful until another multi email got sent to head office. It's passable but not as clean as it use to be. I would strongly recommend looking around before deciding on this property, owner and management company owned buildings.
